Camera app disappears

I tried to configure the Microsoft Exchange account, on successful configuration the camera app icon disappears. After deleting the account again it appeared on my iphone home screen.
I dont know why there is conflict with a Microsoft Exchange account and a camera app. and settings0>restrictions do not work in this case.
Please help

just want to know this problem is specific to exchange server???
Yes.
you mean to say if i configure any other exchange server with less security on it, camera app would work in that case along with my email?
If the administrators of the other Exchange server have not disabled cameras then yes, it would work.

  • After updating to iOS my camera app disappeared. How can i get it back?

I updated my Iphone 3Gs to the new system iOS, and after doing this I noticed there was no longer a camera on my phone. I attempted to sync my phone to the computer, reset my screen settings, and even restore my phone. Nothing has helped. I attempted to download a new camera app in the apple store but it does not work without the original iPhone camera.

None of the included apps can be deleted.
Is Restrictions enabled at Settings > General > Restrictions?
If so, is Camera turned on as a Restriction?

  • Camera app disappeared overnight

Overnight, the camera app has just vanished off my phone altogether. I have checked restrictions and they are all off.
Help - where has it gone, and how do I bring it back, preferably without having to restore the phone and delete all my data.

If you use an exchange email account, you might check with your system administrator who has the ability to disable your camera.
Otherwise, go to Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Home Screen Layout to put all the original icons back in their original positions,

  • Camera App Disappeared When Adding Work Email

I've just added my work email through Microsoft Exchange to my iPhone 3GS 16gb, but the Camera function and App icon has dissappeared. The same thing has happened to another person I work with. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm totally lost. Thanks for any advice!!!
    Ryan

One of the security policies that can be set by the Exchange server allows it to disable the camera on mobile devices. You'll need to either remove the Exchange account, or convince your IT department/Exchange server admin to remove the camera restriction imposed by the Exchange server.

  • Camera App Disappeared?!

I looked through all my folders and I didn't delete it. How do I get it back?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I found how to fix my situation. Perhaps this will help you.
    Power down the phone.
    Remove the battery.
    Wait a few seconds.
    Put the battery back in.
Power the phone back on (in some cases, it may restart itself at this point).
That seems to reset something in the OS if it gets corrupted, but you don't lose your contacts, installed apps, things like that. I hope it works for you, too!
This also got rid of my mysterious undeletable and unusable folder at the same time.

  • Iphone camera app disappeared off my homepage

I can still access the camera from outisde the phone on the lockscreen or through the search on the far left side. There's a second thing missing, and I can't remember what it is, but it's space is empty. What can I do to get the camera to display on the homepage? This is so strange.

Try disabling restrictions first, from Settings > Restrictions. If you want to find more information about restrictions, take a look at this Apple doc -> iOS: Understanding Restrictions
Then try Resetting the Home Screen Layout from Settings > General > Reset. That would put all icons back in their default location.

  • Camera/Video Switch on Camera App has Disappeared!

The little switch on the camera app for switching between shooting video or still shots has just disappeared! It is just not there anymore

    Hi,
    Try restarting your iPhone.
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. Now press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

  • Video mode on camera app keeps disappearing

    Hi,
I'm owner of iPhone 5c and unfortunately I have experienced some issues with my camera app on iOS 7.0.3.
Basically video mode keeps disappearing and the only way to get it back,is to restart the device.
    Anyone else experienced such issues?
Please let me know if this is bug or hardware issue?!
    Thanks in advance

What user troubleshooting have you tried? The user steps are restart, reset, restore from backup, and if needed restore as a new device. You have tried restart, since that is what you do when you turn the device on and off. A reset is done by holding the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. Restores are done via iTunes. If you have to do the reset more than once, then I would suspect a software issue and I would try the restore. If after a restore as new, the camera still malfunctions, then make an appointment at the Genius Bar at the Apple store to have the device looked at.

  • Camera App has disappeared

Just updated my iPhone 3G to version 3.0 and the Camera App has disappeared.
    So far I`ve:
Checked all pages - not anywhere
Done a full restore - still not returned.
Check Restrictions - they were not on.
Allocated Camera to home button but still not working
    Can anyone help PLEASE?

There appears to be a bug with this new update (3.0) - If you're using Exchange (sync) support with the new firmware, then the camera disappears. If you deactivate the Exchange email account ( temporarily) the camera magically appears.
Maybe Apple will call this a 'security feature'? < said as a joke > because many larger organizations shun using camera phones internally. In fact, many government/federal institutions do not allow you to bring camera phones into their offices...
Whatever the reason, it's a bug.. not sure if it's a completely 100% known one but the next small point update should alleviate that.
Try deactivating the exchange account and see if your camera icon shows up.. .Mine does..
    Good luck....

  • Camera gone? Basic camera app has disappeared.  How do I get it back?

My basic Camera app has disappeared.   Did not think you could delete, did not do it intentionally.  It was the camera that came with the phone.  How do I get it back?  I did load Instagram a week ago or so.   Both apps were there now just the instagram app?

Are you sure you didn't accidentally drop it into a folder?
    Try a hard reset:
Hold Sleep/Wake & Home buttoms until the screen goes black and you see the white Apple logo

  • HT1414 Why did my YouTube app disappear?  It came installed on he iPad when I bought it.

For some reason the YouTube app disappeared.  It was there last night and when I went to open the app this morning, it wasn't there.  This app was pre-loaded on the iPad when I bought it.  How do I recover it?
    Thanks for any help.

You must have just updated your device to iOS6?  If you did YouTube is no longer a native app, because the agreement between Apple and Google was up and this has been published for months.  There is now a YouTube App in the App Store, you can download from Google.  Go to the App Store, and in search type Google.  You'll find YouTube there.  Note:  The app is currently optimized for iPhone.  Google is working on an iPad specific YouTube App, but it is not ready yet.  To get the iPhone app to fill your screen, use the 2X on the bottom right of the screen.

  • Camera Roll is not the same in Camera app vs Photos app ???

    iPhone 4S issue...
    I just got a new iPhone 4S. Restored from a 3GS backup.
I noticed yesterday that some of the photos that I took with the built-in Camera app aren't showing in the Camera Roll. Specifically, the last 3 pictures that I took plus a couple three other older ones. But it only happens when I view the Camera Roll through the Camera app. Using the Photos app I can see all the photos I've taken.
    - When viewed from the Photos app, the "Albums" list says "Camera Roll (254)" and all photos show up.
    - When I open the Camera app and click on the picture thumbnail in the bottom left and it opens the Camera Roll it says "248 of 248" at the top of the screen and I can't see my last three photos plus a couple more other older ones. They're not in the thumbnail index and I can't swipe to them from the individual photo display. Again, this is when viewing the Roll from the Camera app.
    - I have no other Albums but "Camera Roll". None of the photos have been edited either.
I called Apple support and they instructed me to reboot my iPhone. This didn't change much except now the last "missing" photo shows up as the small thumbnail in the lower left of the Camera screen. But when I click to view the Camera Roll, it's still nowhere to be found (along with the other "missing" ones). The Photos app still shows all of them just fine.
What the heck is going on? It sounds like a bug to me... the Camera app and the Photos app should be pulling the same data, right?
Apple support suggested that I connect it to my Mac and do a Restore. Even if this works, it doesn't give me much confidence that it won't happen again as it seems like a bug. Should I report it?
    Ben

im also having a problem on my iPhone 4 that just started today, about 100 or so photos and videos just completely disappeared.. basically it shows the last 4-5 photos that i took, and then the first 50 or so.. everything in between is gone.
when i view from the camera vs the photos app the last 4-5 differ.. so who knows *** is going on...
but if you download a program called iExplorer you can view and download everything, as all the files are still there

  • Non-factory Apps Disappearing Randomly After Upgrade to iOS 5.1

Hi all, I've had my iPad 2 for about 9 months.  Since upgrading to iOS 5.1, on two separate occasions, I've had all but the factory apps disappear from my iPad.  This happened randomly during the day, not during or immediately following a sync.  My most recent sync for my iPad was on 3/14, 6 days ago.  I had been using my iPad throughout the day, then unlocked it this evening and everything is gone except the factory apps, i.e. FaceTime, Messages, Reminders, etc.  All my media is still there, and all my settings are unchanged (email accounts still working fine, movies still there in the Videos app), but all downloaded apps are gone.  No games, none of my work apps, nothing.  This is the second time this has happened since I upgraded to iOS 5.1 about 2 weeks ago.  First time was the day after.  Last time I did a full wipe and restore, hoping it was a one time glitch.  I've done some searching, and the only other instances of people's apps disappearing that I've been able to find were related to syncing.  I have the latest iTunes, all software is patched and up to date.  I have syncing via WiFi disabled, as well, it only syncs via cable plugged into my home PC.
Hoping someone else has seen this or has some idea.
(My battery life is significantly reduced after the iOS upgrade as well, with no changes to settings or new apps.  I get a day or two of light use before I'm down to 10%.  I was at 30% in the morning when I put it in my bag, and it was dead when I took it out later that afternoon.  I used to get a good week between charges.)

If it's a first gen iPad, which I assume that it is if you've updated to iOS 5.1.1 as other models update to iOS 6+, then it doesn't have a camera on it and therefore doesn't have Camera or FaceTime apps.

  • No video option in the camera app in iOS 7

On my iphone 4s, the video option seems to have vanished in the camera app along the bottom of the screen. I just get photo, square, and pano. Anyone know why video disappeared?

I am having the same problem.  I did manage to get it to show up again by opening an App that has video.  I used the FaceTime app and called someone and then went back to the camera app and the video option showed up.  It also worked using SlowPro or some other video apps.
I'm not sure why the video option keeps disappearing, but at least there is a way to temporarily get it back.
