Camera app message
Ok so I have the 8330 phone. For the last 3 days it's said "Could not start the camera. Close other applications and try opening the camera again."
I've searched the error on main bb help screens. Even found where others had same issue here. OK so it was one person and he got response to remove the battery and reinstall. While I've done that no less the 6 times. Others had commented on persons post that it didn't work either.
I don't have many apps on my phone. None I've downloaded in the past week.
Has anyone found another fix for this?
Thanks in advance,
Becky
You really have two choices:
Even if you've done it already, try it again, just as described here: Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
Reload or upgrade the operating system on the device. If you need instruction on this, please ask.

Hi community.
I use an iPhone 4s that's about seven months old. When I open Instagram, I can freely browse through my following photo stream, explore profiles, etc. But when I open the page to edit or take my own picture, it crashes immediately. Same with i/Messaging - I select the option to take a photo or video and attach it to my message, but as soon as the shutter "clicks" the app crashes (this happened when texting both iPhone owners and non-owners).
However, I can take and save pictures using the Camera app perfectly fine and have no trouble attaching pictures to messages, so long as the photos were previously taken. No problems with screenshots or saving pictures from the internet either.
What could be the cause of this? Is it repairable? Thanks for your help.
hayden3833For Instagram you can try and uninstall and reinstall the app and see if that fixes it. But if not you can try and resetting all settings, Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings.

I updated my iPhone to iOS 7.0.5 and I lost my messages and camera app and other apps i downloaded from app store. I was having the problem of losing apps since before I updated to the latest IOS. I have tried enable and disable restriction, connecting my phone to my laptop and sync from my computer and none of them is working. What should i do?
Often when this type of thing occurs with missing default apps it is due to a situation where you are unable to 'see' the apps. If you will go to your front display of your device go to settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen layout.
This reset allows for your apps that have for whatever reason been hidden in such an area as you arn't able to find them now to be returned to the area as which they were when you first had the device.
As far as the missing Apps that were purchased through the Apps Store if you will go to settings>itunes and Apps store and click where it reads about automatcally downloading apps clicking on the toggle switch AND clicking on the toggle switch which allows for cellular data to be enabled this then will effectively automatically download all apps to your device that was purchased from the App Store.
Good luck friend. -
Can't send picture messages via camera app
I recently upgraded my iPhone 5 to iOS 7, but it won't let me send pictures directly from the photo app via messages. Any thoughts?
Thanks!Nothing really. The screen simply reverts back to the photo I tried to send. Then when I go to the message app and pull up that person's thread, the photo has not been sent. I CAN send photos from the message app - just not the camera app.
Also, I just confirmed that I can post to twitter from the camera app. Strange.... -
When posting a video to Facebook from Camera app, how can I see the upload progress?
Normally I use the ProCamera app to upload photos and videos from my iPhone 5S but I'm having trouble with it lately so I switched the standard Camera app to post a video to Facebook. I know it successfully posted, I received a notification after a while but is there any way to tell the progress of an upload in Camera? ProCamera displays an uploading message at least but I don't see anything in the Camera app.
Did you have 'find my iPhone' activated on it? Because if you go to iCloud.com you can log in there and you can remotely lock or wipe your device. From what I hear, the police won't do anything about going and fetching stolen iPads and iPhones, but if you have find my iphone/ipad/ipod/mac turned on then it will give you a map of where it is.
Just keep in mind that sometimes iTunes does ask you for your password regardless, and only a few weeks ago apple brought in security questions, so everyone had to fill in security questions for their iTunes account to make it more secure If all else fails, ring Apple cusomer support and they might be able to bar your account or something, however you may have to make a new account (the might be able to set it up so you have all your previous information on a new account)
Hope this helps! -
Camera app not working with logitech webcam with new windows 8.1 update
My Logitech camera app was working fine before win 8.1 update.
ALL drivers are updated.
Camera works fine when I run Logitech program/software, just won't work with camera app included win windows 8.
I just get a dark screen.
I searched forums. This appears to be a common problem. Microsoft Techs just state uninstall camera app and reinstall. But, this is an app that won't let me reinstall. Plus, I search Microsoft Store and can't find the camera app.
Any suggestions.
ThanksI'm having more or less the same issue, but it extends beyond just the app. I'm replying here because this is the topic I was referred to by one of your support members on twitter and I'm trying to help keep things organized so that hopefully one day Microsoft
can solve the issue.
I have the Logitech Webcam HD C 525 which worked perfectly fine on my Windows Vista Home Premium machine. I recently built myself a computer and purchased Windows 8.1 complete (I heard that you could chose the OS language and as I'm living overseas I was really
happy to finally be able to use Windows in English).
I'm using Windows 8.1 64 bit and got around to installing skype on Christmas eve so I could video chat with my family back home. However, I ran into an annoying issue when trying to use the webcam. I installed the latest drivers and applications clean and straight
directly from Logitech, plugged in the webcam and it was not detected.
Following the troubleshooting info from Logitech, I then switched my camera from a USB 3.0 port to a 2.0 one, this shouldn't matter, but I tried it anyway. It changed nothing. I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers multiple times with no change.
After a bit of reaching out on twitter I had a friend suggest using ONLY the Microsoft drivers for my device. I COMPLETELY removed and deleted the device and drivers from my machine and then installed them using the info found here in the troubleshooting section:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/camera-app-faq.
I plugged my camera back into the 2.0 port and my camera flicked on for 2 seconds (preview included) then shut off again and told me it wasn't detectable. I opened Skype and it seemed ok. When it came time to actually Skype with my family skype could no longer
detect my webcam. It flicked on and off briefly and told me it wasn't detectable.
The current state of my webcam is that it is buggy and unreliable. Opening skype or the logitech app or ANY app that uses my camera yields the same result: an endless loop of my camera flickering on and off, and messages of "not detected" between
images from my camera. The camera still works on my old computer normally, thus it is not an issue with the camera itself.
I have read many people having my same issue with various webcams (not just Logitech because I briefly considered buying a Microsoft one) and the one thing in common was it was all on Windows 8.1
As posted in a few posts above I downloaded and ran Process Monitor while I opened skype and my camera sat through the endless detect/non-detected issue it has currently. I hope I have the log information saved correctly (if not I can re-do it, it is not difficult
to reproduce as it happens all the time). I could not figure out how to copy/pase the information in the log file, so here is a link to my log file:

Camera app doesn't work after installing a new screen
I have been fixing broken iPhone screens for quite some time now but have never come across something like this. After installing a new screen the camera app won't show the camera and the shutter never opens. I thought I didn't put one of the cables in right so I double checked and sure enough they were in good. I restored the phone and tried it again with no luck. I then switched out to another screen I found and the camera worked perfectly. This is so bizzarre to me but can anyone explain to me what is wrong? Or what has happened? I have never seen anything like this.
I keep getting an error message of (0xE80000001)!

Sending Photos from the Camera App
So, I know for a fact that this existed in iOS 6, but it does not any more in iOS 7. I was just wondering if there was an option to put back the share button while viewing photos from the camera app? I used to use it all the time, but now, I have to go elsewhere and it makes more steps.
This image is from within the photos app. It has the share button on the left
This one is from the camera app in the photo viewer. It doesn't have the share button. any way to get it back?
ThanksThat's a feature they might add down the line, but I don't believe it is possible now.
I'm going to guess at their reasoning for it - if your phone is locked and someone else besides you gets ahold of it, do you really want them to be able to access not only your messages but also your social network? -
Camera app loses draft when multitasking
From within the Camera app, if you choose to share a photo using email, begin writing your message, switch to another app (Safari, for instance), then switch back to Camera, you're presented with the camera interface and your draft is gone. You are not given the option to save your draft unless you press the cancel button before switching out of the Camera app.
This does not occur in the Photos app. If you choose to share a photo using email from the Photos app, switch out, and switch back, you're brought right back to where you were and can freely multitask without losing your draft message.
Steps to reproduce:
Launch the Camera app
Take a photo
View the photo by clicking the thumbnail in the bottom left
Click the share button
Select Mail
Type a subject
Press the home button twice and switch to an app besides camera
Press the home button twice and switch back to Camera
Result:
Camera interface to take a new photo is displayed
Expected:
Draft message is displayed
Expected (alternate):
Camera interface to take a new photo is displayed
Draft message is stored in Drafts folder
Workaround:
Before switching to another app, press Cancel, then select Save Draft
Instead of switching back to Camera, switch to Mail and find the message in your Drafts folder
From the iOS Human Interface Guidelines:
People expect to have ample opportunity to cancel an operation before it begins, and they expect to get a chance to confirm their intention to perform a potentially destructive action. Finally, people expect to be able to gracefully stop an operation that’s underway.
Multitasking should not be a destructive action.
If this is behaving as designed, it's not insanely great, it's insanely unintuitive. Thanks so much I restored my ipod now it works MUCH better then before and no wierd camera app.

Hi. Which Directive/Class will be the better choice if your app is mainly a video camera app. I saw about 3 different Classes to capture videos. I'm currently using Microsoft.Devices/CaptureDevice to capture video. It looks limited to me because found
out I can't pause==>resume a recording. And what about Zooming? Can you tell me which way I want to go if I want to make sure my camera functionality is powerful? Which directive/class and if possible some code example on how to use it and maybe how to
zoom, focus ect. Thank you very muchI'm now using AudioVideoCaptureDevice to capture video and I can do that but the app crash when I try to set the source for the capture device in InitializeVideoRecorder(). Can you take a look and tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Camera app only shows still camera option. Video option is gone
The iphone 4 camera app intermittently would not open. Now the video option does not show at all. Still takes photos but no way to get to video mode.
And the answer is?
JohnAnd the answer is?
Like most other problems, do the basic troubleshooting steps described in the User Guide:
Restart phone
Reset phone
Restore in iTunes using a backup
Restore in iTunes as new, without using a backup
If restoring as new doesn't help, there is a hardware failure that needs warranty service from Apple.
If your phone has EVER been jailbroken, all bets are off...

How can I get into the camera app when it's full of pictures
I want to delete some pictures from my daughter's ipad mini, but when I open the app, it says that the app can't take any more pictures because it's full. I just want to be able to access her photos so I can delete some. Help! I need to be able to take her picture and put the tooth fairy on the picture- tonight!!!
I'm trying to open the camera app that comes on the ipad mini. This is the only camera app used on this device. My 7 year old has taken a million pictures of herself and Barbie and now when I try to open the camera app, I get a message saying that there isn't enough storage to take pictures and that I should go to settings to manage my storage. it won't let me access any of the one million saved pictures. If I could access them, I would just delete all of them but I don't even have access to them anymore. Can you suggest something?

No shortcut to gallery in camera app
There is no shortcut to the gallery in the factory camera app. Is there a way to add one?
I know that I can change them and how to but I am missing the options I want to put into the shortcut.
Normally you should have these options:
Alam clock
Bluetooth menu
Calculator
Calendar
Camera
Channel list
Collection
Conversions
Countd. timer
Create message
Create MMS
E-mail
Gallery
General
Home
IM contacts
Infrared
Message inbox
Music player
Names
PTT contacts
PTT group list
Push to talk
Radio
Screen saver
Set the time
Silent
Synchronisation
To-do-list
Voice recorder
Wallet
But I am missing these:
Alarm Clock
Bluetooth Menu
Collection
Gallery
General
Infrared
PTT Contacts
Push to talk
Silent
Synchronisation

IOS 6 shutter lag on iPhone 4 - camera app only
After updating my iPhone 4 to ios 6, the camera app has almost 2 seconds of shutter lag. Taking pictures in other apps works fine (such as Messages). My wife's iPhone 4 is doing the same thing with iOS 6. Any suggestions to get rid of this annoying bug?
Finally tried rebooting (holding down home and power buttons until Apple logo appears) and that seems to have fixed it and potentially some other minor issues.

Whenever I try to open the stock camera app, the screen goes black and it crashes. I have done three factory resets and cleared the data. How do I get the camera to work? Is there anywhere I can reinstall this app?
Hey catherine32!
Wow! I can certainly understand wanting to take pictures with that great camera on your phone! Let's get that fixed ASAP! When did this start? Was it after an app was installed? I understand that you did a factory reset, but have you also done this for the memory card? There isn't a way to reinstall the application since it is pre-loaded on the phone. Also, have you tried going into the camera all different ways (lock screen, apps, while composing a message to make an attachment)? And do they all make the camera still close out? We may need to replace the device if it is still having problems. Please let us know !
Thanks!
