Camera App Photo Preview Blurry

Heres an interesting issue i found on my iPhone 5. If i use the camera app to take a photo, then swipe left to view the photo. The last taken photo is extemely blurry. Most camera preiews do this then load the clear photo, but thisone stays blurry. Ifi go into the photos app and view the photo its ok, also if i rotate the screen on the blurry photo it will be clear again. Anyone else having this issue? It is bothersome asi always swipe left to check the photo i just took. Have tried restarting camera app and hard reset. I imagine Apple could release a software fix for this?

Wow I'm surprised no one is talking about this yet. My brother found this happening in his iphone 5 within a matter days of use. He told me about it and now that i just got my iphone 5, i discovered it to be true myself.
This occurs regardless whether the camera app is launched from the lock screen or home screen. It seems to happen only when you swipe right from the camera view to get a quick glance at your photos. The last photo will appear blurry when viewed through the swipe method rather than the traditional method of doing so through tapping the box on the lower left . Like Egibbys21 described, rotating the photo will clear it up. However I found that this problem repeatedly happens when a newer photo is taken in the opposite orientation of the last. Also, so long as the blurry view isn't cleared up through rotating the photo like how Egibbys21 described, all last taken photos, regardless of orientation, will appear blurry when viewed through swipe method.
It is somewhat unfortunate and seems either users don't use the swipe function like they do in windows phone, or those photos have been largely mistaken as truly blurry. I hope others will be able to duplicate this issue and bring this up.

When I connect my iPhone 4 to my MacBook, iPhoto only shows thumbnails of photos taken with the camera app.
Thumbnails taken with a third party app show up as empty hash border boxes and I am not able to import them. Why is this? It's dam annoying. I should be able to get hold of any images on my iPhone regardless of what app I used.
(Note photos are always stored on the iPhone in the Photo Gallery)

It's a bug, I think. Many people have reported it on the iPhoto forum, so you might search for a solution there.
See if Image Capture in your Applications folder lets you download all the photos to your hard drive. Worst-case, copy and paste them into an email to send yourself.

Camera App photo location on Win XP?

Hi, I am under the impression that photos that are taken with the iPhone camera app are backed up somewhere on my windows xp machine. Where are they located? There is a folder called iphone photo cache in an itunes folder- however, when using special software to look at them, they are photos Ive placed on the iphone in the past, that arent currently on there- and they are NOT the iphone camera app/camera roll photos.
Please, where are the camera app/camera roll photos backed up to?

The iPhone backup contains photos taken on with the iPhone.

Has anyone had the little preview picture on the bottom left in the camera app stuck on a picture that does not exist?

I recently took a picture and the small preview on the bottom left in the camera app showed it like it was supposed to. I have taken pictures after that and I t always shows the last picture taken. When I delete those pictures it defaults back to the non existing picture. I deleted the picture but the preview still shows it is there. I have deleted all the pictures on the phone and the preview still shows. Any ideas on how to clear it?

I've never experienced this glitch. But the first thing I'd try to clear the photo is to quit the ?Camera app and reset the iPhone. To quit an app double click the Home button to reveal the row of recently used apps. Flick up on the page preview and it will fly away and disappear. That quits the app. then reset the iPhone. Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot.

Can't access photos in camera roll - camera and photo app crashes

Have iphone 4 with iOS 5.0. Took pictures but now I can't access any photo in the Camera Roll. When I now try to take a picture, Camera app crashes. If I try to access the Camera Roll via Photo App, it too crashes. Can't see the photos from iTunes either. Shows it as unknown data. Is there anyway to rebuild the photo library or remove a corrupted photo since I think that is the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Camera Roll is not the same in Camera app vs Photos app ???

iPhone 4S issue...
I just got a new iPhone 4S. Restored from a 3GS backup.
I noticed yesterday that some of the photos that I took with the built-in Camera app aren't showing in the Camera Roll. Specifically, the last 3 pictures that I took plus a couple three other older ones. But it only happens when I view the Camera Roll through the Camera app. Using the Photos app I can see all the photos I've taken.
- When viewed from the Photos app, the "Albums" list says "Camera Roll (254)" and all photos show up.
- When I open the Camera app and click on the picture thumbnail in the bottom left and it opens the Camera Roll it says "248 of 248" at the top of the screen and I can't see my last three photos plus a couple more other older ones. They're not in the thumbnail index and I can't swipe to them from the individual photo display. Again, this is when viewing the Roll from the Camera app.
- I have no other Albums but "Camera Roll". None of the photos have been edited either.
I called Apple support and they instructed me to reboot my iPhone. This didn't change much except now the last "missing" photo shows up as the small thumbnail in the lower left of the Camera screen. But when I click to view the Camera Roll, it's still nowhere to be found (along with the other "missing" ones). The Photos app still shows all of them just fine.
What the heck is going on? It sounds like a bug to me... the Camera app and the Photos app should be pulling the same data, right?
Apple support suggested that I connect it to my Mac and do a Restore. Even if this works, it doesn't give me much confidence that it won't happen again as it seems like a bug. Should I report it?

im also having a problem on my iPhone 4 that just started today, about 100 or so photos and videos just completely disappeared.. basically it shows the last 4-5 photos that i took, and then the first 50 or so.. everything in between is gone.
when i view from the camera vs the photos app the last 4-5 differ.. so who knows *** is going on...
but if you download a program called iExplorer you can view and download everything, as all the files are still there

Did the ios 8.3 update now i can tview photos from the camera app and the photos wont save to my photos app.

I just did the new ios 8.3 update for my iPhone. I've been trying to take pictures from the camera app and it wont allow me to click on the picture to view it and none of the new photos are saving to my photos app or if you send a picture through text it doesn't save the original to the photo app either. is this a problem with the new version of ios or have a maybe selected something to not allow me to add more photos? I only have 400 photos saved on my phone so its not a fact of not having enough space. any help would be greatly appreciated

On all previous IOS it was worked fine.
Fix for this issue:
- Reboot phone and plug it again. But after unplug and plug it again the issue still reproducible. Only reboot can helps.
Please try to fix it.

Try a reset of the device by pressing and holding the home and power button for 15-20 seconds until the white Apple logo appears.

Why won't the Camera and Photos apps work? I can't access my photos or take new ones.

I can no longer take new photos, or access my camera roll or photo stream from within the camera or photos apps.
Several days ago I took an HDR photo and the phone became unresponsive on the "saving" dialog with the progress loop rolling. After 15 minutes, and multiple attempts at getting it un-hung, I forced a restart of the phone. Since then, whenever I take a picture, the app disappears and drops me on the home screen right after the "iris" graphic clicks on the screen. The same app crash happens when I simply try to look at previously saved pictures in either the camera or photos apps. Since then I have synched the phone, and performed a factory reset, and neither has fixed the problem. Has anyone else experienced this? How do I get use of my camera back?

I'm having the same problem, but am traveling for business right now so all I can do is restart the phone. I don't live near an Apple store either, so I don't know how I'll get it fixed. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Basic troubleshooting steps right out of the user guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. If you've been through ALL the steps and you still have the problem, then you'll need to bring your phone to Apple for evaluation.

How do I export photos taken in an Iphone or Ipad Camera app and retain each of the photos location data?

I know this question must have been answered somewhere but I must not be searching for the right terms because I haven't been able to find clear instructions. I am using iPhones (4s) and iPadminis on IOS 8/8.1. I run ITunes on a Windows PC.
I want to be able to export photos which keep their metadata/exif data, including the location data that is acquired when the photo is taken. I have location services turned on for the Camera app. When I view the photos in the Photos app it appears to have kept some location services because it accurately identifies the place the photo was taken. How do I export these photos so they retain that location information?
I have previously exported the photos by using the iphone and ipad as an external hardrive and just copied the files off the devices. When I open these photos in windows explorer they do not appear to have maintained more than the time the photo was taken. They do not show any location information in third party software like Picasa or Geosetter (My previous experience has been exporting images from a non apple camera and then syncing it with a handheld gps to update the exif data). I don't find syncing photos through Itunes very intuitive.
What are my options? What are the solutions? If you have a solution can you please explain a little about what is happening to the files and the metadata/exif data at each stage of the process.

So glad I updated. NOT.

Go to iTunea>Preferences>Devices and see if there is a backupright at the time you did the update. Then try restoring from that backup. If the apps are in your iTunes library, any app data will be restored to the iPod.
When restoring from an iOS 4 (or later) backup, if the device had a passcode set, iTunes will ask if you want to set a passcode (and remind you that you had protected your device with a passcode). iTunes will not ask you to set a passcode when restoring from iOS 3.x and prior backups.
Therefore, remembe the passcode that you enter this time.
It appears that if you restore from a backup, that backup is not subseqyently overwritten by the next backup.

Camera app won't work camera works (FaceTime and photo booth, etc) but not in camera mode what is wrong and howmdominfix?

When I open the camera app all I get is a black screen. If I choose FaceTime or photo booth it works just fine so camera itself is fine. It seems to be the app that is not fine.

Quit the camera app completely and then try it again..
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button.
Try the camera app again.

Photo icon in camera app on iPhone 4 not working

I updated my iPhone 4 to the software 5.0 when it first came out a few months back. When I go to my camera app, on the bottom left, there is an icon that takes you to your photos. When I press it, it says, "No photos or Videos" and I do have photos in my photo library. I hope this made sense. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Do you have the flast set to Auto or On? If you tap the button quickly the camera may not have enough time to evaluate the lighting conditions, so if it is set to Auto it may not choose the correct flash setting. Note also that the camera takes a picture when you REMOVE your finger from the screen. You can also press either volume button on the side of the phone, and if you hold a volume button it will take multiple pictures in quick succession.
