Camera attached or not

Hi...
How to find out whether camera is attached or not in AS3.0.
It can be installed or not.
Thanks.

Hi...
That is fine but it doesn't work in my case.
I want to show up pop up window when camera is not attached or not installed or not found on user computer.
How this can be done ???
By which property we can find about camera attached or not ??
The camera can be attached or unattached means it can installed or not.
If installed also then also it can deattached.
Any clue??
Thanks.

Another solution would be to find a Compact Flash-to-USB card adapter that is compatible with the USB adapter in the Camera Connection Kit.  Some such adapters draw too much current from the iPad.
You can also get a Secure Digital-to-Compact Flash adapter that would allow you to use SD cards in your camera.

  • How do I delete invisible MP4 files from my FLIP video camera attached by USB?

Hello!  I have a FLIP video camera attached to my MacBook by USB.  The FLIP has invisible files (old videos that I have previously deleted from the camera) that I want to delete.  I can see them in Finder using File/Find/Other/Invisible Files but I ****cannot**** seem to delete them.  The "move to trash" option is not available in Finder/File.  When I drag the files to trash they don't actually move.
    Help!
    Thank you.

The simplest way is to reformat or reinitialize the card using the menu on the camera.

  • If I have the camera attachment for my iPad 1 can I buy apps which require a camera?

I have the iPad one and I am very interested in animation, I saw boinx animation software and thought I could use my iPod touch (new) as a remote which can be done but I was stopped because my iPad 1 does not have a camera, is there a way of getting round this and if not then if I buy a camera attachment will it then let me buy the app

I'm sure it will "let" you buy the app, even it won't work on your iPad
If you are wondering if the app will actually work by importing photos from the camera connection kit (or photos already saved on your iPad) you should probably ask the people who make the app. They will be able to give you the best answer before you waste your money on something that might not work.
Or, if you are talking about iStopMotion - there is a separate app called iStopMotion Remote Camera that lets you use your iPhone or iPod camera and transfer the photos via wifi. But I still think you should contact Boinx.

  • TS1702 The default Camera application is not responding, it comes with black screen. Functions on the screen are unresponsive, very slow.

    Dear community,
The default camera application became un-usable in my iPhone5. Cannot operate camera at all. It comes with a blank/black screen, camera controls are unresponsive, front-back camera toggle switch takes couple of minutes to response but with a blank/black screen both front and back.
I searched solutions and applied but none seems to work. I reset my phone, started as blank, with no user account, still camera is acting same (or rather not acting). Other apps that use camera give error when try to access the camera such as whatsap and skype. Facetime comes with a very blurred view. Couple of screen shots are attached.
I think need to erase and reload the camera program but I could not find how to do it. Is it possible? or is there any other suggestions?

    Hello hakanid,
The following article provides some useful troubleshooting steps that can help get your iPhone's camera working.
Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:
Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

  • Attach Image Not Working - 11-17-09

Well, it looks like the maintenance last night broke the ability to attach a JPG image directly to a post. Sizes are well within both pixel dimensions and also file size. Tried with a .PNG of the same ones.
Note that they will still Attach from the lower-left of the editing screen, and can be opened, but the "camera" icon attachment is now broken.
Fix one thing, and break others,
    Hunt

    Jochem,
Here are the results of my tests:
    Workstation
IE 7.0.5xxx, which has not been on the Adobe fora for over 3 mos. - same problem - camera icon will not attach and yields the same exact error message.
    Third computer
IE 6, which has not been on the Adobe fora for over a year - same problem
IE 5, which has not been on the Adobe fora for many years, if at all - same problem
IE 3, which has never been on the Adobe fora - same problem
    Laptop
Installed Google Chrome and logged-in. Camera icon works as before
While not a complete and empirical test, these results indicate that the Jive update has an issue with several versions of IE. For me, none will work with the camera icon attachment function, as did my IE 7 installations. Something in this update does not allow the camera icon to function in IE (any versions that I have. Note: no IE8, due to reported issues with some Adobe programs.)
I can use Google Chrome, but wonder what it is about IE, that Jive does not like, since the updates.
Thank you for your help, and for your patience, as I poked around the test page. I have no idea why the widget did not show initially, until I navigated from that page, and back (did not do a refresh after I posted, but upon posting the reply, the screen did refresh, as per normal, just without anything at the bottom of the page then. Note: this was with IE 7.0.5xxx.) Does Jive just dislike MS and IE? I know that many users do, but I've been using it just fine for decades.
Guess that it's Chrome for me, at least on the Adobe fora, since the update.
    Appreciated,
    Hunt

    Hello skymac
Your problem may be hardware related, but until you get better suggestions from iNtel Mac users, here are some common solutions that help most avoid a visit to their Apple Service Technician.
None of the suggestions is complicated, but the only way to find which one will work for you is to continue down the list until you find the one that fixes your Mac.
    (0) Disconnect any unnecessary peripherals while you do your testing to rule out possible conflicts.
    (1) Restart your Mac. Sometimes that is all that is required.
    (2) If you use VMware Fusion to run Windows on your MacBook, consider disconnecting iSight from your Virtual Machine as recommended by user "The.VCI" in this post.
    (3) If you use an HP printer/scanner with your Mac, consider the "daemon" suggestions from user "parkersal" in this post.
    (4) Check for any running applications, Login Items, or widgets that can use your iSight. (It is easy to forget widgets like Mirror in your Dashboard.) As explained in Apple's iSight "Your camera is in use by another application" message, iSight can be used by one application at a time.
    (5) Try every suggestion re: Built-in iSight in How to Troubleshoot iSight. Be sure to include the checks for whether the problem is "application-specific" and "user-specific".
Click here if you need help creating a new user account to check whether your problem is "user-specific" during Troubleshooting.
    (6) If resetting or the other troubleshooting suggestions do correct your problem, try the following:
    - Backup your Home Folder, or at very least, your important files.
    - Repair permissions. (Click here if you need help)
    - Then download and apply the Mac OS X 10.4.10 Combo Update v1.1 (iNtel).
    - Finish with another Permissions Repair, and then check your iSight again.
Users have reported fixes to a variety of audio, video, connectivity, and software conflicts and unreliability issues after properly applying Combo Updates.
    (7) A few iNtel Mac laptop users have also reported success after unplugging their Macs and leaving the battery out for half-an-hour to overnight, but in your case, this fix was not permanent. I have seen no other reports in iSight Discussions that the problem has returned for other iNtel Mac users.
    (8) If none of these suggestions help, I suggest that you take your iMac to your Apple-Authorized Service Provider for a professional check. If you do not have access to local Apple Service, click here for International Technical Support Contact Information.
To help others who may have the same problem, please post back which solution gets yours working again.
    Cheers,
    Jim

  • No camera attached; Samsung VP-D371W

    Hi,
I bought the above miniDV cam, recorded and was able to transfer footage into imovie via Firewire (camera recognised), worked as it should several times and then went to import a much longer clip and had to quit imovie as it was letterboxing because I needed to do something else. Since then it says 'no camera attached'...it also doesn't show up in system profiler even as an unknown device. I've deleted imovie plist files, restarted, checked cable connections both ends reset pram, and wonder if anyone else has had the same issue and fixed it? Help much appreciated!
    Thanks, Jabber

I had a similar problem with a Sony camera that I've been using for years. Last week, I couldn't import from it with iMovie. I got the "no camera attached" message. I spent many, many hours trying to get my Mac to recognize the camera, with no luck. Finally, I tested the camera with a different Mac and realized there was a problem with the camera, not the computer. I bought a new FireWire cable and -- amazingly, wonderfully -- that did the trick. I didn't know FireWire cables could go bad. So, for future readers with this problem, figure out if it's a hardware or software problem early on, and don't rule out the cable.

  • IMac with message of "there is no camera attached to this computer"?

My iChat was working fine recently when all of a sudden I am only able to do audio chat. The computer states "there is no camera attached to this computer."
I did have this problem once before about a couple years ago, after I had that day done some software updates. What solved the problem back then, after I had researched the problem on the discussion forums, was to unplug the power cord and all connected wires, wait a minute and then replug power cord while holding in the power button. This worked back then.
This time around, I had not done any recent updates. My ichat had been working fine. I looked under the more info on this computer, under hardware and USB and (I believe) it doesn't detect the camera. I tried fixing with the same approach as last year and nothing has changed.
Any thoughts on the subject would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I know of no other way to get it working.
You could try a Combo Install.
    The List is here http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/
Run the Combo version of the OS level you are at over the top of what you have.
You could also try Repair Permissions with Disk Utility in Applications/Utilities using the First Aid tab.

  • TS4185 There is no camera attached to this computer

Sigh, I've had this problem for a while now and just about exhausted every avenue I can think of but have yet to come up with a solution.
Problem: Accross all apps that use the camera (Facetime / Skype / Photobooth etc). Camera works fine for a while after a restart (mostly - will explain further down) but after a day or so, give or take, I will receive the dreaded "There is no camera attached to this computer." message.
Once this message has appeared, it appears to be game-over until one of the following:-
         •Restart Computer (sometimes works)
•PRAM reset (sometimes works - might just be down to the restart rarther than the actual resetting of the PRAM)
•Holding power button on restart until 'beep' (Usually works)
    Note that:-
•Once I get this message, the camera no longer appears in the System Profiler.
•Camera functions fine when it's on.
    So far I have tried:-
•using different apps: doesn't seem to matter which app I'm using, i.e. if I exclusively use Skype, the camera will still fail. The same is true of photobooth
•doing the above restarts/resetting things: In all cases, the fix is temporary and the problem persists after (usually) a day or so.
•Leaving the app running: I thought if I kept the camera "active" all the time, it might continue to work. Not the case, after a day or so I came back and just had a picture frozen on in and upon restarting facetime, you guessed it, "There is no camera attached to this computer".
•Formatting disk and reinstalling OS: I thought that the issue might be to a conflict somewhere in the preferences etc so did a clean reinstall of the MacOS 10.8 however, note that this has occurred under 10.6, 10.7 & 10.8.
From the above I deduce that either:-
•There is a fault/conflict in the software / OS though it would have to be something that only kicked in after a certain amount of time. Note that I've not yet timed how long until the camera fails as this is somewhat impractical.
•There is a hardware fault that again, only surfaces after a given amount of time. I'm thinking this is more likely after having done the clean install and the problem persisting. I thought I would seek advice on here before "opening her up"!
I've tried to be as thorough as I possible in diagnosing the problem and though there seem to be a few threads discussing how to solve the problem, I've not come accross one where it repeatedly arises.
    Thanks,
    Jono.

    Update 2:
Since booting in and out of bootcamp, the facetime camera seems to be working a little better. I doesn't seem feasable but I wonder whether something on the windows partition was not relinquishing the camera when shutting down and changing back to MacOS...
That's all I can really think of as I've not done anything much else different.
Hope this helps someone and I'll try to update should the camera stop working again!

  • IChat Says I have no Camera Attached to my iMac

    Hi,
I have a new iMac i5.  When I start iChat or Facetime, the applications say I have no camera attached to the computer.  I'm running 10.6.8  Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance.
    Gary

    Hi,
Does Photo Booth and iMovie say you have no camera connected ?
Does the System Profiler say you have a camera ?
(it will be in the Hardware > USB section if it is an internal one)
There are the first two steps in the link AnaMusic posted.
The next is to try a different Mac User Login (Create an Account in System Preferences > Accounts if you don't have one)
If it does not appear in the System Profiler or any App then Reset the SMC/PMU  (link in the Trouble Shooting iSight doc)
