Camera .. blurry on one side

Has anyone else noticed their pictures being blurry only on one side? I went to the Cambridge, MA Galleria apple store, and showed an Apple Genius named Tim the issue...unfortunately, I'd wiped my camera pretty clean in anticipation of a replacement, so all I had to show were some pictures taken in the store which are hardly good examples..
But basically, all of my images beyond a couple feet are distinctively blurrier towards the "bottom" of the iPhone.. Or, if I'm taking a landscape shot, I'd say "towards the right" (I usually hold the camera with the "button" on my right, so the camera lens is in the upper left)..
I set up a gallery of my iphone pictures.. If anyone has links to theirs, I'd appreciate being able to compare..
http://gallery.mac.com/scottkearney#100084&bgcolor=black
user and password are both "apple".. The issue is easiest to see on nice sunny outdoor shots with the subject more than 20 feet away from me--those are the shots that should come out the best, since there is ample lighting and the lens speed should be lightning fast, minimizing the impact of my hand shake.
All of these pics should be blurry on the right (landscape) or bottom (portrait). I've taken some new ones (not online yet) this morning, where I photographed a brick wall, and then just flipped the camera 6 hours clockwise in my hand, and took the same shot. First shot is blurry on right, second shot is blurry on left. Easy to see with the gridlike texture of the bricks.
Tim at the Apple store told me that the camera is not supposed to take good pictures, and that this is acceptable. My $600 and I disagree.. In fact, he really sort of miffed me. He tried to do an "in-store" comparison between his and mine, by taking pictures of something 5 feet away, holding one in each hand.. in the low-lighting of the store. They were both blurry as heck since he was taking one-handed shots with two cameras that are difficult to use one-handedly...in relatively low-light. And he concluded mine is fine. Grr.

I plan to head over to the Apple store tonight for another attempt. Last time, I went in expecting great customer service, and I just was sort of a bump on a log when I didn't get it. Completely unprepared and not in any sort of mode where I was ready to stand up for myself.
Now I've got some much clearer samples, which I've left on the camera.
I set up more direct comparison shots:
http://gallery.mac.com/scottkearney#100100&bgcolor=black
user/pass = apple/apple
In these shots, I took a shot, then flipped the camera around, and took the same exact shot upside-down (graciously re-oriented for me by iPhoto). You can clearly see the shift of focus.
I'm a little leary about getting another unit that may have color balance or other issues, but honestly the camera is a big part of it for me, so I'm going to go back there and try again before calling Apple directly. Hopefully I get somebody more helpful. I just perused the warranty contract, and I don't see how this isn't covered. It's a defect in workmanship, since it's either a crooked CCD or a crooked lens.

  • My camera broke on my Iphone, just the back part of the camera, the front one still works...anyways the back camera is just very blurry and foggy and I was wondering if there was an attachment I could buy to screw in to the top like the ones off Amazon?

    Clean the lens first.
No add on is going to "fix" a broken camera if that is the case.
The only real solution would be to take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.

  • New iPad camera leaves a brownish gradient tint coming from one side.

Bought the New iPad about 3 weeks ago and recently, I just noticed an issue with my camera. For some reason, one side of the camera gives of a brownish gradient tint. If you were to stand the iPad up regularly with the home button at the bottom, then the gradient would be coming from the bottom. Wether I take a picture from lboth andscapes and both portaits views, the brown gradient is still there. The front facing camera seems just fine, so the issue is with the 5MP camera.

  • No sound one side on headphones

new iPhone 4s no sound on one side on headphones

goblue91, you RULE.  That was EXACTLY the problem in my son's case.  He has an iPhone 5 with ios 7.0.4 and was pairing an LG HBS730 bluetooth headset.  Contacted LG, they told me to mail it back and get another one, so I did.  The new one came it, same problem.  I found your post, went into the Settings->General->Accessibility>Hearing, and sure enough, he had moved his balance all the way to one ear.  Thank you very much for your post.  Saved me ALOT of headaches.

  • After resizing a photo and viewing in album picture offsets to one side and crashes ios7

After resizing a photo using the edit function , viewing the photo in camera roll
Offsets the picture to one side so its not in the middle , zoom into the pic and zoom back out
The black borders appear at the top and bottom and all looks in centre
But when i flick back and forward through my pics and get back to my
First pic i resized it offsets to one side and the camera roll crashes and freezes

Since you can't drag a photo when viewing in the large mode you can try the following:
1 - make sure the Info drawer on the right side is displayed.
2 - click on a photo and hit the Space bar.
3 - click on the Full Screen button at the lower left.
Now you're in full screen mode with the Info drawer at the right.
4 - either set the rating of the photo to one that you can use to group in a smart album (Command-1 for 1 star, Command-2 for 2 starts, etc.) or add a keyword that can also be used to group the photos in a smart album.
5 - use the right or left arrow keys on the keyboard to move to the next or previous photos.
6 - when complete go to the smart album and drag the photos into a regular album.

  • Can't see one side of raid

Long story short - was in the middle of transferring a lot of data from one side of the raid to the other. Came back and transfer was stopped, so I restarted our server. Server would not start up, so did a fresh install. Server still will not start up if i have the fibre cable plugged in on the side I was copying from, but will start up if i have the cable to the side i was copying to plugged in. If I turn off the raid the server starts up. Turned on the raid with the server on, and i can see the one side i was copying to, but not the side was copying from. The process fsck_hfs is running at 99%, and has been for a while. What can i do to see my other side of the raid?

You were absolutely misinformed. Use journaling...
it doesn't perceptibly reduce performance, and it has
    a ton of advantages.
Who gave you that advice? Argh.
You advised me in a post to use journaling. I posted the question because when I set up my RAID, the AJA Io box I use for video with FCP said not to use journaling. The rationale was it can cause audio and video synch problems. I guess that is the decreased performance they speak of. This might have been stated in FCP materials as well. Not sure.

  • My daughters ipod only plays out of one side on her headphones.  Is there a problem with the ipod?

My daughters ipod only plays out of one side on her headphones.  I've tried other headphones.  Is there a problem with her ipod?

First make sure the headphones are plugged in all the way in (it takes a bit of force to get the solid click sound) and sound balance is set in the middle. Second, test the headphones on another device to see if they operate correctly and test the iPod with the original Apple earphones that came with the iPod to see if it works correctly. Lastly, if you are using third-party headphones, make sure that their plug is iPod compatible.

  • HT201401 Lighting cable only one side can be charged?

Why my lighting cable can be use for data transfer in both side
But only can be charged the power in one side only?
    It is my problem or?
    Design by apple?

I tried that first.  It didn't get the gunk that was in the bottom of the port.  The toothpick popped it right out in one piece.  Took almost no pressure at all.  I was worried that I would hurt something with the toothpick so I gently inserted it at one side and then slide it to the other side of the connector sorting of feeling it out.  It came out with a big block of gunk from the bottom of the connector.  I was just probing the connector to see if the toothpick would fit.  I really hadn't made any effort to clean anything yet.  I I was amazed at how much gunk there was.  I keep my phone really clean but I guess my pockets are another story...

  • Real instruments pan to one side.

on the older (not '08) version of Garageband, when i record 'real' instruments, they always pan to one-side, even though it's shown as them being in the middle, and also even if i pan it to the other side. but software instruments are fine and are panned to the middle..
so presumably i changed a setting somewhere without realising?

Chris, similar problem; long time GB user, upgraded to intel machine and '08; in editing existing tracks in new 08 version of GB, can't get them to pan; I searched help and noticed the bit on turning off echo and reverb, which I did. still can't get 'em to pan.......using either pan curves or the knob. Made sure the track was mono.....any ideas? I'd be most grateful.........

  • In my iPad mini if I use earphones I can hear from only one side

In my iPad mini if I use earphones I can hear from only one side  but the earphones work fine with other devices

Have you tried different headphones in your iPad mini?
Check in Settings > General > Accessibility if little slider half way down isn't moved to either side towards "L" or "R".
If it isn't , try to reboot the device, but it's likely that your audio port isn't working correctly. If so, it should definitely be covered by warranty.

  • Macbook 13 inch late 2008 screen not illuminated on one side

    Hi Apple Community,
I need help! My late 2008 13 inch aluminium Macbook screen has 'died' on one side resulting in one side being noticeably dark. The left side has no problems, only the right side.
I am a student living in New Zealand where there is no Apple store in the country I can go to. Local service shop says just to look at it and confirm that one side is dark (which any 2 year old cad identify that it is) will cost a ridiculous $100. Estimated cost will be around $1000 to replace screen.
Has anyone had the same problem and how have you solved it? What is the cost of repair or is there something I can do it help it?
    Macbook specs:
    MacBook, 13inch, Aluminium, Late 2008
Processor: 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory: 4 GB
    Software: OS X 10.9.4 (Mavericks)
    I do not have AppleCare
    Thanks!

Try these folks at www.usedmac.com.  You may have some luck getting technical help from them by email.  It is more difficult by phone.  You can look through the parts list for what they have in stock for your computer model to get an idea of the prices.  You probably won't need any heavy or large parts so some priority mail  service won't break the bank.  Your problem may simply be a cable but even a back light led or controller circuit board should not be too expensive.  It will require some careful work on your part for replacement.
    good luck.

  • HT204053 What are the pros and cons of 1) choosing to use the SAME Apple ID for iCloud services on one side, and purchases on the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBookstore, on the other side; or 2) to have and use two separate Apple Ids for these "two sides

All is in the title, so I repeat it below with a better identation.
What are the pros and cons of
    1) choosing to use the SAME
Apple ID for iCloud services on one side, and
purchases on the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBookstore, on the other side; or
    2) to have and use two separate Apple Ids for these "two sides"?
    P.S.
I have loads and loads of free podcasts in iTunes in my iMac, that are certainly more thant the 5 gigas the iCloud provides for free, so I don't want those to go to the cloud. But this is perhaps a different question...
Also need to mention that I have itunes on a mac, a pc and an iphone.
Sorry to look so silly with this question, but I don't get the "big picture".

You need to create a user account for your wife (or yourself depending on who has the current user account). When syncing, each of you should sign in as a separate user, login to iTunes and then sync. I had this problem when my sister got an iPhone. When we did her initial sync, everything on my iPhone showed up on hers. Apple gave me this solution.

  • How to acquire multi-camera images from one PCI-1409 card at the same time?

What do I need to do? The hardware or software?
Can you provide me your solution or 3rd-party ones?

If you need to aquire images at exactly the same time it will require using two 1409 boards and trigggering the camera simultaneously from the same signal. If you use one board with multiple camera, you will not be able to get images at exactly the same time. This is because there is only one A to D converter on the board which must be shared between channels, so you will have a slight delay of approximately one frame from when the camera is reading one channel to the next. If you trigger the cameras simultaneously, they will both be sending information into the baord, but only one can be read at a time, so the second would not be taken in. Below is a link to approaches for coinnecting multiple cameras:
