Camera button Nokia 6131

The camera button on my Nokia 6131 is on the side of the phone and is easily pressed by accident. This leads to the camera going on to standby in either my pocket or the belt holder and draining the battery. It is possible to lock this button off? - Angus.

Lock the keypad.
This is achieved on most Nokia phones by pressing the left menu key and then the '*' key in quick succession.
Do the same again to unlock the keypad.

I thought that the Nokia 930 used alumunuim for the frame and buttons.
The volume and central button are fine, but the camera button is almost lost the aluminum coour and looks black.
Should i clean the button with some tyoe of cleaning materials?

Before I can use the Lock and Camera Button on the right side of my phone. Later when I slide down the lock button to unlock my phone it did'nt functioning, also the Camera Button even though I press cannot came out the Camera for easy picture taking..

Try this,
Go to settings, application>>photos+camera,
Change the default camera app to Nokia Camera or vice versa.
If this doesn't work reset the camera in the same page.

Same here - worked for a first three weeks then quit! Seems like in general the phone has started getting slower and delayed over time, especial with touchscreen navigation, so I suspect it's a software issue.
Button won't turn on camera on anymore and only does autofocus but not shoots....
Anybody has found a workaround?
It seems the on/off doesn't work but it does seem to me if you let the battery completely drain and then recharge and restart, a number of other functions does better....

Hold Camera Button to Unlock Bug even after updati...

Even after updating, the hold camera button to unlock feature doesn't reliably work on the Nokia Lumia 900. What gives, why is this still broken?

This seems to be a problem with all Lumia 900s at this time...
I visited an AT&T and Microsoft Store and inquired about this problem. Every Nokia Lumia 900 on display and even the store employees own phones exibited the "works when it feels like it" camera button problem. The store employees had no explanation for it.
Through my own fiddling with it I found the only way to get the camera button to work every time is to press the power button first to wake up the phone, then press the camera button. It is a pretty easy work-around.
I also found that if you press the camera button slow enough to feel both clicks, or press the camera button twice quickly that can work too, but not all the time...
As far as I know Nokia has not acklowledged this problem yet but I hope they will soon and that a software update will correct it.

Lumia 720: Power and camera button act weird

Hi,
My Nokia Lumia 720 is acting weird.
The camera button doesn't work and so does the power button.
However if I press the volume down and the power button simultaneously the button does work.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
I've already brought the phone back to the default settings.
I'm running the latest developer preview if that matters.

N96 Camera Button Problem...

ok so i have this N96 very good phone but the camera button dosent works for Taking Pictures
let me explain : when i press a little the camera button it should do this Focus and make the corners red or green and then i need to press a little harder to take a picture... but the first part with the focus dosent works and if it dosent make focus it wont take picture so it like the focus button is boken?
and i know for sure that the camera button is not broken becuse its works fine with the Video Recorder/camcorder watever anyway i need help!! plz!!!! can someone help me? oh and today when i was updating my firmware to 12.43 my computer showed N96 disconnected via USB cable and the update program stopped and said to reconnect the device and press continue... so i did that and its finished updating maybe while the update somthing goed wrong and this is one why the focus button dosent works? should i try to refirmware it? u know like update it again?

The Latest version of the N96 firmware is v30, but you will have to wait for your opperator to allow Nokia to release it to there handsets before it becomes available to you

6500 Slide Camera Button ?

Is anyone having difficulty with the side camera button on their 6500 Slide.
It auto-focuses with the half way press without any problems, but I'm finding that you have to press it down really quite hard for it to actually take the picture.
What are your thoughts on this, is it a hardware fault ?

It's a phone problem, a hardware, but unfortunelly, a general one. Here, in our shop, all 6500 slide have this problem, and lots of clients camed back with this complain..

I've had loads of nokia phones with loose buttons. It's up to you if you want to change it. Mine doesn't have any loose buttons but other nokias have. Personally I would change it as you are obviously unhappy about it.

Nokia 6131 & PC Suite Sync Problem

Hi all. Hope someone can help me. I have a Nokia 6131 updated with the latest phone software and am trying to use it with my Windows XP PC using PC Suite version 6.85.14.1. The problem is that during the sync process between the phone and PC, the phone begins the process but stops before completing the sync process and then disconnects from the PC. About 10 seconds later, without my doing anything, the phone reconnects with the PC, attempts to sync with the PC and the problem repeats itself. After two times, the phone then turns off by itself. I can do all the functions of PC Suite (backup, file explore, picture transfer, etc.) except update my address book because it won't complete the sync process completely. Thanks very much in advance for any solution.

Hi Android. Thanks for your quick reply. My situation is that I'm not synching my phone with Outlook. I need to synch the phone with the PC in order to update my phone contact list. I tried doing it on my laptop with Vista OS and the same thing happens. After I click on the Contacts button, the phone begins the synch process, then stops (at 77 of 90) because the phone disconnects itself, then the phone connects again and repeats the problem. I got an error code 0x80044403: "PC Suite does not recognize the connected phone". Very strange since I can synch the calendar on my Vista laptop with the phone with no problem. It's only the Contacts that I can't update because the phone disconnects before synch completion. All other PC Suite functions work fine.

My ipod touch 5th gen camera keeps on crashing. I can't use it properly because before I can click on the camera button, the screen will go dark and then will go back to home. What can I do about this?

so I've been using my ipod touch for three months already. Then I noticed that the more I use my camera, which is not very often, I only use it to snapshot wonderful events in my life, the more "crashing" becomes often in my ipod. There are several times that I will repeatedly click my camera button just to open it as it keeps on crashing. my software is up to date, iOS 6.1.3 and I thought that updating it and restarting it will do the trick. Also, the panorama feature of my camera is kind of defective, It's very dark and the images keep in getting ragged on edges. Like it's been cut with sheers or any sharp material. What can I do about this? Is there any way for me to get this fixed?

Is the camera damaged? Could be a hardware problem.
Try:
Close the Camera app in the multitasking bar, then try again.
Restart/Reset/Restore your iPod. In that order.

In gingerbread the camera button worked.... but when i upgraded to ICS the camera button stopped working.... how can i make it work ?

Camera button doesn't work

Hi everyone,
Recently I've noticed that my camera button on the phone is not working.
It doesn't launch camera app and it doesn't take any pictures while in cam app, however I can focus with it.
I'm on 4.4.2 and it doesn't have too many outside apps installed, what I have tried so far:
1) Pressing the button hard,
2) Tried entering safe mode,
3) Tried to change settings inside cam app, quick launch particularly,
4) Cleared the app data/cache of *Camera*, *Camera common*,*Camera extension*,*Cameras*.
Nothing seems to work for me.
Please help Don't want to repair my phone via update service...plus there is never a guarantee it will help.

Ok, good news, I actually got it.
I have previously used Xperia Active and the experience on the Z1 compact is quite different in terms of this camera button.
So, as you said Alexdone, it has two phases.
First, you slightly press it down to focus, similar to trigger buttons on PlayStation/Xbox controllers.
Second, you have to press it down further and it goes down with a click, have to overcome that fear.
I’ve also done a factory reset, that could have helped as well..maybe
