Camera button on home screen no longer opens camera ?

When I doube tap the home button to use the camera from the home screen, it sort of 'hops' up about 1/2 a cm, but then bounces back down without opening the camera app, this is only since the upgrade to 5.1. I tried a hard reset, but no joy (and no shortcut to the camera either!!) Is it just me or is anyone else having this issue ?
*edit* figured it out, its now a slide motion upwards.....

You should have seen all the questions when they first added the shortcut to the lock screen. No one could figure out how to use it as it required a double tap to make it visible.

I've found a new way .. I restart the phone manually. And it works. But sometimes , the Problem reappears and sometimes it doesn't . But when it does , its just too annoying. Therefore, restarting the phone manually is a temporary solution. But what's the permanent solution for it? Let's wait and hope that someone comes up with one.
And I hope this restarting hint solves your problem too.
P.S- instagram or any other app won't make a difference. That's what i think .. Cz I don't have that app on my iPhone.

The built in apps can't be deleted. If you want them reset back to their original arrangement on your screen, go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout. If your purchased apps are missing, either sync them back to your phone with iTunes or redownload them for free (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519).

The option add to home screen no longer appears when I have found a website and I wish to add it to the home screen, any suggestions?

Thanks Chris. You did help me in that I didn't think of saving to desktop and import it iPhoto. But, as I am making a book for my Father for Christmas this is a tedious task. I have also found once in a while it does not work on my desktop either. Must be a Mac thing!

Ipod Touch ios 5 camera button on lock screen wont open camera

I recently upgraded my Ipod Touch Gen4 to ios 5.1. All went well, except when I push the camera button on the lock screen, it tries to open the camera but then changes back to the lock screen.
Its like the lock screen moves upward to show the camera app underneath, but then closes.
Ive done a reset and restore but no luck.
Any help please??

My Mail app sends me to home screen when I open it

Let me tell you what I have done after reading all of the threads on this forum about this issue.
• Closed the app mail and restarted it #RollEyes #duh
• Turning phone off and turning it back on
• Resetting Phone
• Removing all of the mail accounts from my mail app (using the Settings app), then re adding
• Removing all of the mail accounts from my mail app (using the settings app), then shutting down phone, then re adding
• Removing all of the mail accounts from my mail app (using the settings app), then resetting phone, then re adding
• Deleting all of my mail from the mail servers (using my computer) for the last two days, then "delete forever" all of that mail that I moved to the trash (my mail app stopped working today - so two days should cover it)
• Putting the phone in airplane mode
• Setting the phone to "data off"
I still get a mail app that "opens" then immediatly goes back to the home screen (the mail app is still "running" as I can see it when I double tap my home button to see the "running" apps)
I've been using apple products since I was 5 years old, family of electrical engineers, and I'm stumped. I love apple and the reason I've used their products is to avoid software malfunctions etc. . . I'm not gonna lie, it's gotten worse over the last few years with Apple's growing popularity. . .
Gonna need a solution as I use my mail for work on a daily basis

Restore as new, THEN restore from the backup. It seems as if the Mail App is corrupted. Last Sunday this happened to me on my iPad (Mail app quitting, just like in your case). I restored as new, then reinstalled the backup. Luckily I had a backup (from the day before) which was backed up BEFORE the mail problem appeared.
If the above does not solve your problem, I suggest restoring as new and redownloading each app individually, and then transferring your photos from iPhoto on the Mac (or whataever photo app on Windows) and content independently.
If that does not solve your prblem, there might be a hardware problem.

No camera button on lock screen

I downloaded IOS5. There is no camera button on the lock screen. Ok I found out you have to double click the home button for it to come up.

Nevermind I just found the answer in another thread. You have to double tap the home button on the lock screen and it comes up.

IPhone 5, webpages added to home screen don't open correctly

When I open pages stored to the home screen they appear to open using the old screen size. There are black bars at top and bottom and no navigation bars. Even the time, battery indicator, etc are moved down on the screen.

I Just bought my iphone 6 64GB iOS 8.1.2 few days ago , It can't access to control center , camera (swipe up) and notification center (swipe down) on home screen when i put my phone down (it also hardly to access assistive touch too ) . Is anyone having this situation too ?

Are you using a iphone case or otterbox? If so remove the case and see if you can swipe up.

HT4061 My lock button and home screen button has just stopped working, how do i fix this?

My lock and home screen button has just suddenly stopped working, i have looked on YouTube, unscrewed the back and tried the methods that work for other people but it hasn't worked.
Im not on contract, if it needs to go in for repair im sure it will be very expensive!

It's a hardware issue. If it's out of warranty, you can get it replaced but there's an out of warranty fee associated.

Soft buttons on home screen

Hi,
I am a new user of E71. After I inserted my SIM card , I received a theme from my operator including a screen saver and a soft button on the home screen "right button"
This button is assigned to services provided by my operator.
But it is useless for me. That's why I want to remove that button and assign it to an application if possible.
How can I achieve this ?
In another forum I've read that this button is configurable through the "standby mode" settings under phone settings.
Unfortunately I can't find such setting.
Can anyone help me please ?

That's ok.
Now I wonder if it is possible to change the applications with icons at the upper side of home screen.
How can I do that ?
For example, I don't want the default apps in the home screen, instead I prefer google maps.

Camera icon on home screen

Whilst at a wedding today my icon for my camera vanished, the you tube one has appeared in its place. I can still access the camera if i type camera in to the search iphone box. Can anyone tell me how i can pin this icon backonto the page

Its not been deleted. More likely you have inadvertently moved the icon to another page. Check your other home screens.

Why does my iPod crash to the home screen when I open an app?

My iPod touch has been crashing to the home screen when I stay on aps such as Safari, Facebook, or the App Store for a short period of time. For example, when I go to the App Store to update my apps it crashes right away, wheras in Safari it wll crash after a few minutes of browsing the web.
Are there ways to prevent this from happening?

My camera is not working when ever i open cam apps its stucks.

After upgrading to iOS7 on IPAD 2 the back camera is not working only get a black screen switing to front camera it works once then freezes

Have you tried to force quit the camera app? Double tap the home button. Scroll sideways if needed until you see the camera preview, then flick that preview up and off the screen. Then either single tap the home button or tap on the home page preview to exit the mode.
