Camera connection kit always shows no photos to import?
No matter what use wether its from a camera via usb or the sd card slot it always shows no pictures to import.
I havent used it in a while and just updated to 4.3.2 i believe it is, is there some compatablity issue with the latest update?
I dont use it alot but always worked before.
im no idevice expert but im not an idiot either
i tried using ifile and transferred the pics, renamed them so they followed squence with the rest of the pics in the standard folder, and even deleted and existing pic to test it and NOTHING
transferred pics are there in ifile and deleted pics are gone after restart but when i open "photos" the transferred ones still arent there and the deleted still are.
am i seriously missing something?

HT202037 Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit: Videos showing up green.
I bought the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit, the SD card one, and I can import pictures and videos to my Ipad and the pictures turn out just fine but some of the videos show up green and they won't play. I have the iPad mini and its on iOS 8.1.2 and the camera I am using is a Nikon 1 S1 model. Is there a way to get the videos to show up correctly and work?
It is likely that the Nikon shoots in a video format that the iPad does not support.

RAW picture previews loading extremely slow since IOS 8 using the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit
Hi all
First, sorry for my poor english, I hope you understand my problem.
Device is iPad Air Wi-Fi with IOS 8.
I just realized this issue yesterday. I wanted to import some of my RAW pictures from my Nikon camera's SD card, using the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit. In the Photos app / Import tab, the RAW picture previews show extremely slow. It takes a second to show each photo preview before import. A second for every single picture preview
For example, if you have 500 pictures on your SD card, and you want to import pictures from this card but just some selected, then you need to wait for an overview preview a lot of minutes. On IOS 7 this process was maybe 10 seconds for all of the pictures...Same problem here. As a professional wedding photographer, sifting through my photos while on the go is the reason for me purchasing the iPad (Retina) 2 years ago, I now have an $800 paperweight after iOS8.x.x. Apple, if you actually read these, please inform your engineers to fix this in the next update or at least provide us with a solution to return to iOS7.x.x. Makes me wonder if there is any QA or testing that goes on before an update is released. As an FYI, here's my thread from a few weeks ago: Native Photos App, Slow... No, I mean really slow.

Does the camera connection kit rename imported photos?
If I use the camera connection kit to transfer photos from the SD card used in my Sony RX-100 camera, will the photos, whose names always begin with "DSC_", be renamed according to the iOS covention "IMG_"?
This renaming *does* occur when I transfer photos to my iOS devices using Eye-Fi cards. You can also use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

SD card import faulty - Camera Connection Kit
I am travelling around and the camera connection kit has been working well for importing pics from my SD cards. However one day the import warned me I was importing 1gb of pics, but only had 0.7gb free on the iPad. It asked me whether to import until the iPad was full, so I said yes.
Since then I deleted some movies I had on the iPad, so I now have lots of free space. Now most photos are imported showing just a "jpg" logo and the photo cannot be opened. This happens on any SD card I put in the iPad. I wonder if perhaps the iPad needs some sort of disk utility or scandisk to be run, but I can't find such a utility.I tried powering down several times. I have also done the reset you suggested. Unfortunately the problem remains.
As I am travelling, I am not in a position to do a sync. Both the iPad's "About" and an iPad info app I have report 7.5gb free.
I wonder if there is a utility that can truly free the space (assuming that is the problem)? -
IPad camera connection kit is working on ios 6.1.3 or no?
Hello everyone,
I'm trying to find an answer to this question
Is iPad camera connection kit working on the new update iOS 6.1.3?
I need to know this kinda urgent now, because my iPad has been acting really weird, but I hadn't update yet, because I'm scared my camera connection kit won't work anymore, and I need it alot because I work with cameras.
Anyone who already update and the camera connection kit still working? Please
I have an iPad 2 currently iOS 6
Have a great day!Works on my iPad 2 also. I transfer pics/videos using an SDHC card and also using a USB flash drive.
To use a flash drive, Plug the flash drive (works the same with an SD card) into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM.

Connection kit will read class 6 cards but not class 10???
I use an 8GB SDHC Class 10 card & it works with my iPad 2. Make sure the 30-pin adapter is fully seated into the side of the iPad.
Here's another way. Import the pics to your computer. Then you can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.

Problems iOS5 + camera connection kit for iPad
My camera connection kit isn't working anymore since I use iOS5 on my iPad 1. What can I do?
Turn on your bluetooth and see if that works.

Once pictures are moved from your camera to your iPad (using the camera connection kit), how do you get the photos off of the iPad? They do not show up in my photo stream or my iCloud. I am able to see any photo I took on the iPad using the iPad camera (in iTunes, photo stream, or when I open windows explorer and browse the iPad director), however I cannot see any photos transfered from my camera to the iPad. The camera connection kit must have put my photos in a directory I cannot get to and cannot sync.
The links below have instructions for deleting photos.

I bought a camera connection kit. First time it worked fine, using the USB connector, but now neither the USB nor SD connector works. The iPad shows a connector is attached, but Photos doesn't open. Any ideas? thanks
If you have not done so, try exiting the Photo app (and maybe more apps if you have a lot open) from the Open Apps List and see if a discount/reconnect opens the app. If that does not work, try powering down the iPad and test. If it is still not working try a hard reset by pressing both Home and Sleep/Wake buttons at the same time until the Apple graphic appears, ignoring the Slide to Power Off button.

I am trying to get photos from a friends i pad to mine so that I can make a slide show for him. I tried using my i pad camera connection kit with a SDHC card in it and followed the instructions in the manual. I got to the part where it had me select COPY from the drop down menu. When I did that nothing happened. Can this be done at all?
only option is to download an app for bluetooth transfer which may be quite slow, checkout 'Bump' or search for photo transfer or similar.

Getting photos off iPad onto disc (with new camera connection kit)
I bought the camera connection kit and can't figure out how to get my pictures from iPad on to the 8 GB disk. Any suggestions? The disk is not showing up anywhere. Not in Photos, Settings or anywhere. IU searched here to no avail and online found Dropbox app, but that hasn't worked either. Unless I am missing a step.
Any suggestions?can I then put the new disk in my camera
What "disk" are you referring to?
If it's something to do with the camera, you need to refer to the camera manual to see how to load pix onto it.
If it's a SD card, you can get an adapter to plug it into a USB port on the computer. -
Importing many (400+) photos with camera connection kit fails
Hi,
I'd like to hear if anyone came across this already:
When I try to import a lot of images ( most recent example is 445) photos from my Canon 5D through the camera connection kit + USB cable it fails.
The app starts up just fine and starts to read from the camera, icons appear (showing RAW+JPG yet no preview) but after a while the import window simply closes and no pictures have been imported.
Smaller numbers of pictures work just fine.
I had hoped for 4.2.1 to address this but no luck.
This limits the usability of the iPad as a viewing and backup device for my pictures quite a bit for me.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
AndiUpdate:
It turned out that the cable was the problem. I had used a retractable cable which worked find for the preview but was obviously not up to the job when it came to the higher requirements of the full speed image download.
Using a standard USB cable works just fine. -
I have just purchased the new iPad with the camera connection kit and want to be able to view my photos full screen and not import them. Can this be done and how? Please advise. Thank you.
When connecting the Camera Connection Kit to a camera or SD card all you see are the thumbnails of the photos. I suggest you review those, select the photos you might want to see full screen, then import them to your iPad. After viewing them you can always delete them if you no longer want them on your iPad.
I also suggest Keeping the photos on your camera or SD card until you import the to your computer and back them up to at least one other location. -
