Camera connection kit for ipad 2. Can this kit be used with ipad air and if so what adapter(s) are required please

You can try the 30 pin to lightning adapter but I'm not sure if that'll work. So if you get it to experiment, make sure you can return it. Apple does sell a SD to lightning adapter for the newer devices. So that should be a sure bet. The main downside is that your 30 pin camera kit came with both USB and SD for 29 and now the USB adapter is 19 and the SD adapter 29, so more expensive.
You may want to look into third party adapters, but make sure you use a reputable manufacturer (ie not a cheap no-name off amazon) because iOS7 brought with it software that looks for a signed chip in the adapter. And a chip is 'signed' when a company gets apple's permission to make accessories. I would suggest sticking with companies like Belkin, Kensington and Targus. They seem to be of a better reputation when making things and would have a signed chip.

  • How to use the camera connection kit for iPad 3rd generation?

This is how you use it.

  • Camera Connection Kit for iPad 2?

Can anyone tell me when or if there will be a camera connection kit for the iPad 2? The kits that were release for the iPad do not fit properly in the iPad 2. There is a large gap and I am worried it will eventually cause damage to the port. I could not find much online so I thought I would ask here. Thanks

There is only one connection kit, and do not seem to be any plans for adding an additional kit.  Just like the 30 pin sync connector, the connection seems limited, but was never designed to leave the connector in place, especially while carting the device around.  I use my original camera kit with my iPad 2, without issues.

  • Can't find camera connection kit for iPad air

Feel silly asking this but went to apple on-line store and can't find the camera connection kit anywhere? I have the older version for my iPad 2 and use it with HDMI cable to watch downloaded video to our big screen tv. My son has the iPad 4 and I'm going to upgrade to the iPad air so would like to get a new kit with the lightning connector...
Can someone point me in the right direction?
Also, slightly OT, can the new iPhone 5s use the same kit to connectt to the tv to view downloads, etc.?
    Many thanks,

No, not at all but because that isn't what you asked for. The Camera Connection kit is to connect a digital camera or SD Card for the purpose of importing photos. If you want to connect to a television it requires something completely different.
    Lightning Digital AV Adapter
HDMI is essentially DVI plus the audio channels, so yes, video + audio.

  • Just purchase a camera connection kit for my ipad2 when I hooked it up said it too much power

How do use iPad 2camera connection kit. Just hooked with Kodak camera. The iPad said it was too power to transfer these picture.
    Very new for iPad usage.
    Thanks.  Hugh parsons

First thing to try is a reboot of your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. See if that fixes your problem.
Then connect your camera and turn on the camera. Does it work then?

  • HT1689 I have purchased a camera connection kit for the iPad . How do I get the iPad to read the information ?

How do I get the iPad to read the camera connection plug in

Is the kit fully inserted, and which part of the kit are you using, the SD reader or the cable to camera ? If the SD reader, then how did the photos get on the card - if you copied them on from your computer then you need to create a DCIM directory off the root of the card, with the photos underneath it, and the photo filenames need to be exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension i.e. in a similar format as if a camera had created/written them.
If you are connecting direct to the camera then does your camera have a menu setting for 'Photo Transfer Protocol' (PTP) and/or Mass Storage Device ?

  • Camera connection kit for i pad 3

Hi I had a generic camera kit but it has broke while i was trying to figure it out. I am now wanting a genuine apple one. There are some on e bay model MC531ZM/A. It has the correct 30 pin connector, but they tell me it is only suitable for i pad 1 and 2. Does anyone know anything about these thank you, the one on apple site looks just the same but i cannot find a model no for it

It should be fine. I'm not aware of different models beyond whether or not it's a 30 pin or lightning connector.

  • TS2634 Camera connection kit

I have the iPad camera connection kit for my iPad 3 rd generation. The card reader works great but I just tried the USB connecter with a micro- card reader USB and it says it cannot work because the connected device requires too much power. What can I do?

    Jarge-
About the only way to get around the USB power problem, is to use a powered USB hub.
I have several USB camera card readers.  Two SD readers and two CF readers work with my Camera Connection Kit and iPad 2.  However a couple different "universal" card readers draw too much current unless I use the powered hub.  You might try other brands of card reader to see if any work for you.

  • Is camera connection kit slower than MIDI Interface?

I have purchased the camera connection kit for use with the new iPad. I am using it with Yamaha's set list designer.
The keyboard I'm using it with is a Yamaha S 90 XS.
I have it hooked up with the USB cable through the camera connection kit.
This app sends program changes according to a set list over MIDI.
When I connected to the keyboard the iPad says this device is not compatible.
However it shows up as a device and everything works fine except that it's very slow.
I'm wondering if a MIDI interface like the Yamaha or line 6 would give me a better result.
Has anyone out there have experience using  the midi interface vs. the camera connection kit?
Is either one more responsive than the other one.
    Thanks and best regards,
    Lpiano

I don't know when you used it last, but there was a firmware upgrade in 2011 that reduced the amount of power allocated to the 30 pin port - and with that the ability for the iPad to recognize and work with many USB devices that had worked before (even more confusing, articles are still out there saying such and such will work, but they were written before the upgrade)
the only work around I've seen some suggest is to use a powered USB hub, but if you've already tried that then you may just be out of luck
