Camera connection...need help!

my computer won't recognize my camera when it is connected. i updated all my software...even the software i have for my camera. it still wont work, and its a brand new camera. how can i fix this problem???

Most digital cameras use a standard naming format when they write photos to their memory cards, and the iPad and its camera connection kit only accepts that format i.e. directly off the root off the card should be a directory called DCIM, and underneath that are the photos, whose filenames should be exactly 8 characters long plus their file extension e.g. IMG_0001.JPG
DCIM
IMG_0001.JPG
IMG_0002.JPG
etc
(Digital cameras quite often have another directory between the DCIM and the actual photos, but it's just the DCIM one that is important.)
For direct transfer from your camera, you may need to change a setting on your camera - I know that some Canon DSLRs have a menu setting on them to enable 'PTP' (picture transfer protocol) on them, not sure about other makes.

Buying "apple iPad camera connection kit" HELP

If I brought the "apple iPad camera connection kit" which includes (a SD card port and a USB port) . And I use it on my iPad 2 can I plug in a USB memory stick in the USB pot on one of the connections in the kit, and transfer images from my iPad to the memory stick?

No you can't. The camera connection kit is a one way device, which will only let you download pictures from a memory card to your iPad. You can not then upload them to a memory stick from iPad.

Trouble exporting to camera! Need help please

Hi all, Hope u can help. Only recently has imovies not allowed me to export movies to my camera. The message appears:- "imovie lost connection to the video camera. Please check and try again."
I have checked firewire which is installed correctly- i know this as i can import stuff fine.
Only thing i can think of is that i recently installed a lassi hard drive to back up movies- this also uses a firewire cable-At the same time i had extra memory installed, could this be the problem? If so how do i fix it! or could it be something else? Yours hopefully nicola

So why don't you search for the documentation? Tomcat is one of the few apache java projects that is actually decently documented.

Low-Res connection, need help.

I've got a 1.25 GHz eMac running OS 10.3.9 connected to a high-speed DSL network (unknown speed) through a Linksys router and AirPort. I conferenced with a new 1.83 GHz iMac running OS 10.4.? connected directly to a "lite" cable ISP (256 Kb download/128 Kb upload speed).
There was no delay, the audio was pretty good, but the video quality wasn't very sharp at all, so I'm quite disappointed. I figure there's a weak connection link somewhere in the specs I listed above. The video was not nearly as clear as advertised, and it was only about 14 fps.
I think the ISP connection speed is probably the problem. How can I check that from my computer?
Any help figuring this out would be appreciated.

Yes, I'm using an external iSight on my eMac. The other iMac has the built-in iSight, too. I'll save that USB device link, just in case, though. It might come in handy at some point.
I'm forbidden from using the "speakeasy" site, but the other link worked. Here are the specs taken from the free test:
Communications: 880.5 kilobits per second
Storage: 107.5 kilobytes per second
1MB file download: 9.5 seconds
Subjective rating: Good
It looks like the iMac's 128 Kbps connection is probably the problem. What is the difference between upload and download speeds, WRT the iSight's performance? My guess is that the lower of the two is the limiting factor.
The iMac I conferenced with is my mother-in-law's, and my computer will be left with my mom when I move away in the near future (I just joined the Navy). All I'll need is a new iMac and a decent ISP, then my mom and my kids will be able to use iChat. If my mother-in-law wants to shell out an extra $14/mo. on her cable bill for better connection speed, that's her perogative, ha ha.

Another "can't connect" need help thread!

Got a new iMac, and I can't get iChat to work to a friend who also has an iMac. He can connect to others just fine, so it must be my end.
I verified the Firewall is turned off.

Wireless connections need help on what type to get.....

I have an iMac G5 and need to make it wireless. Due to construction. I believe its a 17 inch 1.8gh( I think). What would I need to make it wireless? Also my iMac is going to be a good 100-150 feet away and up a story from the dsl box. Plus the Floor itself is about 6 inches thick or more in spots. I don't think the airporter express will cover this range. And no there is no way of moving the box closer and I don't want a bunch of wires running all over the 2 story house. Any ideas of what product would be helpful in this case?

You will probably get more wireless info from the knowledgeable users in one of the AirPort Forums where the wireless users hang out.

Connected to network but no connectivity- need help

The Iphone shows network connectivity (bars on left) but when some one calls me the phone appears to be ringing to them but there is no ring on my side. If I try to call someone the call just hangs and when I "end call" it goes to the home screen and when i go to the dialpad the old call is still "dialling". I am not able to use the phone service at all.
The previous time it occured I just reset the Iphone using Itunes and in the process lost all the data but the phone recovered. can some one help me with this?
By the way this problem occured after i changed the OS to 5.

If you look at wifi settings what IP address has been assigned to the iPad? If it starts with 169 then the iPad never successfully connected to the router. What security setting are you using? Some say WPA2 works best. You can also search the ipad wifi forum for similar problems since this problem comes up at least one a day.

Creative Web Cam III Need Help

Linux wired connection - need help?

Unfortunately BT were not help with my query?
I use ubuntu and until last Friday no problems, worked first time in connecting the internet (wired connection, old lap top I'm afraid).
Now it just says 'wired not connected' although it is.
Done all the usual checks - tested agains another internect connection, which was fine; new cable; amended the wired settings to manual and put in the varies settings.
Still won't work
I currently use BT hub but I do have an old BT voyager route so tested it on that. At first the same issues, then it found the 'wired connected' , had an IP address but couldn't connect to the internet. It only did this once, then wouldn't work again.
I have run out of ideas, help please!

Aaaah.. that explains a lot. I've always used Netgear right from upgrading the Green frog eleventy million years ago so I guess that's why I've never experienced that.

MacBook no longer connects -- need help!

Forgive me if this has been asked before, but as I was scrolling through posts, I found similar problems that didn't quite apply, but nothing identical.
I bought a MacBook 1.5-2 months ago. Had some initial troubles connecting to my home network, but once I switched protection from WEP to WPA everything has been running fine. Yesterday morning I had to reboot my cable modem, which runs into a Netgear WGR614 v8. That night, when I went to connect via the new MacBook, I got the error that airport could not connect to my network, please try again.
My hardwired G5 Tower connects via the router no problem, and my wife's iBook connects wirelessly no problem. The MacBook was able to connect to someone else's unprotected network no problem, so I know the card in it is still good, as is the router. I checked and the right password was still being remembered.
Any ideas?

Have you tried adding your home wireless network as a "Preferred Network" in your MacBook's AirPort settings?
o System Preferences > Network > Show > AirPort

Camera guy needs help with his first build

I work in a video rental house, and I'm sick of renting out $13,000 cameras and $16,000 lens packages all the time and not having the capability to get the gear for free and make my own projects on my own time! To that end, I'll happily trade any video camera / production knowledge for advice on this build I'm working on.

Nice system specification! Like Harm, I don't have much to suggest - only a comment on the keyboard!
I personally went with the Logitech K800, which is also wireless, after comparing it with the K340 in a store that had both on display. I preferred the feel of this more expensive model and am still very happy with the purchase 6 months later. The K800 also adds backlighting which I love for editing in a dimly lit room.

ADO Database Connection: Need help with correct syntax for 'Execute' Method

Page Error cannot connect, need help

Safari cant open the page.
Safari cant open the page http://games.espn.go.com/frontpage?&lpos=globalnav&lid=gnFantasyFantasy&#148;. The error was: lost network connection (NSURLErrorDomain:-1005) Please choose Report Bug to Apple from the Safari menu, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message.

Safari now again could load the page and FireFox on Windows machine also could load the page with no problem. The server 199.181.132.163 of games.espn.go.com requested for much of my machine and browser information, and the page contained some Java scripts.
Surprisingly, nine other servers swarm around my node with games.espn.go.com. It includes a known cookie from one of servers owned by hitbox.com. It is quite interesting to know that the servers were monitoring who I am.
I don't think this is a server load problem.
What make you think to cause the issue?
