Camera connector kit not working at all

Hi
I bought the camera connector kit and can't get it to work.
I don't really use the camera to take photos or shoot videos. I bought the kit mainly to add storage to my brand new iPad (3).
What I have tried to do so far, is:
- create a DCIM folder on a USB stick AND on an SD card
- copy .jpeg and H.264 video encoded files in those folders
- insert the different connectors in the iPad
- with the 32gb USB key, I got a message "not enough power"
- with a 4gb USB key, all I got was " no photo to import"
- with the SD card, once again, "no photo to import"
So, basically, nothing works. Am I doing anything wrong or is there something else I could try.
Thanks

I bought the kit mainly to add storage to my brand new iPad (3).
The CCK can only be used to import photos/videos to the iPad. Can't be used to export photos/videos or other files, or use like an external hard drive.
Are you opening the Photos app when you try to import the photos & are they identified as .jpg?

Got a iPad camera connector kit. It is not working as expected. It is not able to read any photos. Both the USB connector and sd card reader arenot showing any photos on iPad. Tried copying all photos directly in DCIM folder. Still no result.
Any other setting needs to be changed?

    Hey, thanks for your updates.
The photos are 8 character long and extension is .jpg
The file names are 8 characters long with 3 as alphapet followed by an "_" and then 4 numbers.
Initially the photos were in a folder inside DCIM folder. I manually copied them to DCIM folder, still no result.
    Can you advice.

  • Why does my camera connection kit not work with my ipad 1 after updating on ios 5?

Why does my camera connection kit not work with my ipad 1 after updating on ios 5? What can I do to make it work again?

It should. It will only respond if there's something on the card for it to respond to, so do you have pics on the card?
And if it's messing up; try giving the iPad a restart. Hold down the sleep and home keys, past when you see hte red power down slider and until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try again. That can clear up any glitches on the device itself.

  • Camera connection kit not working. After upgrade?

Camera connection kit used to work perfectly with Nikon D3100. After upgrade it will not work at all neither from the camera usb nor from de card. Help

Try resetting the iPad. Press & hold the Home and Power buttons together for 10+ seconds , ignoring the red power-off slider until the Apple logo appears.

  • Camera Connection Kit not Working

I got my Camera Connection Kit yesterday and i wasnt able to get it to work with my SD Card, it says "USB Device not Supported" when i plug the Card in
The USB Connector doese nothing when i plug in my Nikon D700 or D300. When i Plug in my CF Card reader there is no light nor a Sign of Activity
I restarted the Ipad several Times but no change
    Any Suggestions ?

Are you sure it's seating all the way into the slot? Sometimes the case or cover interferes with it.
Also, some cameras do not work with the CCK. It has to do with how the camera format's the memory card.

  • Camera connection kit not working with ipad2

I have had no problems using my camera connection kit, and have downloaded plenty of pics and films, but it now seems that since I have updated to recent IOS it now no longer works and just comes up with the 'this accessory is not supported by ipad' message.
Anyone got any ideas? I have tried several SD cards and several cameras, so it is a problem with the ipad itself by the looks of it. I have tried a soft reset, turned on/off etc.
    Many thanks in advance.

I have a 5 in 1 (not Apple) connection kit and like most others was pulling what little hair I have out trying to use the SD card reader on my IPAD 3 (probably the same with the Ipad 2), it simply does not work since the recent software upgrades. However I have just discovered that my camera USB connection lead DOES work when connected to the USB socket of the 5 in 1 connector. You will need to move the little black switch on the connector to the USB position. Once connected it shows an import icon which then allows scroilling through every photo on the camera. I can now import selective or all photos and it saves spending out £25 plus on an 'official' connector. Hope this helps.

  • Ipad camera connect kit not working

When I attach my iPod camea connect kit (the Appel one, not 3rd party) to my iPad 3, I get the message that the accessory is not supported.  What gives?  I pop in an SD card and it doesn't read anything.  All I get is the not supported message a few times.

I have the new iPad also, white 64GIG 4G and my camera connection kit is not working either. The same camera connection kit purchased at my local Apple store worked fine with my iPad 2. I've tried everything (e.g. power-off, reset, restore, putting photos on the card then connecting, and reformatting the card using disk utility) and it even shows the camera connection kit under "general" "about" it just doesnt work as far as being recognized in the photo app. I guess this is where AppleCare phone support comes in handy. I hope this gets fixed because I've been shooting a lot of video and creating some pretty good home movies with my kids using iMovie. I would really like to get these large files transferred onto my Mac. The SD card I'm using is a PNY Professional SDHC 4GIG Class 10 just to provide all the variables I'm working with. What am I missing?

  • Camera connection kit not working iOS 8.3 on iPad 2

Our camera connection kit is not working with the recent iOS 8.3 update on our iPad 2s. It works fine on iOS 8.2, but once an iPad is updated to iOS 8.3, it no longer can import from that iPad 2. We use this for our HS Digital Journalism class (school news). We import video and photos taken on iPad 2s to an iPad Air through the camera connection kit + lightning adapter. It is not the switch on the adapter because it works fine on iOS 8.2. We cannot use AirDrop because it doesn't work on the iPad 2s.Currently we are just using DropBox, but would l

I'm surprised this worked at all.  I gather the camera connection kit was intended as input only.
    1) You could try the app...

There are other of these apps around that work on devices not supported by AirDrop.
    2) You can downgrade to ios 8.2.
For a limited time Apple will allow you to downgrade to the previous release.  Hurry do not wait.

  • Camera connection kit not working on ipad2 iOS 5.1

    Hi all,
I have two iPad 2 at home. I bought the camera connection kit few days ago and I'm experiencing some issues on one iPad only. Everything is working fine with the one that has iOS 5.0.1 installed on it. I can copy both, videos and images. But, the other one has iOS 5.1 and the app Photos does'nt read the SD card at all. The thing is that I'm able to that the iPad is recognizing the card reader under Settings/General/About.
Any ideas what might be wrong? Any other people is experiencing same problem?
    Thanks,

I haven't had an issue. Do you use the same card on both devices and it works differently on each one?
You might try resetting the one that isn't working. Hold down the sleep and home key, past the red power down slider and until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and see if it works.

  • Camera Connection Kit not working with Canon G12

    Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone can help me...
I just purchased the iPad Camera Connection Kit and when I plugged both the SD card and USB connectors in with the appropriate divices connected, and turned on, neither worked. Absolutely nothing happens.
My iPad picks up the CCK in the 'about' section in Settings but the Photo App did not load when the connectors where in. I am thinking it has something to do with my camera/SD card
    Information:
    iPad - Generation 1, Version 5.1.1, 16GB
Camera - Canon G12 Power Shoot. It has Picture Transfer Protocol
SD card - SanDisk SDHC card 4GB
Also, the camera saves the photo files in the DCIM folder with 8 characters, e.g. IMG_1234
Any help would be greatly appreaciated.
    Many thanks,
    CJ

I cannot find these settings anywhere on my camera or in the manual.
I had to do some searching on the internet just to find out it had picture transfer protocol. I am struggling to find answers about the G12's PTP or Mass Storage.
    Sorry...

  • Camera connection kit not working the same on IOS 5 as it did on IOS 4. Bugs or deliberate features?

Using the Camera connection kit Previously downloaded files were recognised and only new pictures were uploaded. Doesn't seem to work in IOS 5. I was using the Ipad as a photos backup and display device.

  • Camera Connect Kit not working with iOS 4.2 software update

Since updating my iPad software to iOS 4.2 when I try to use my Camera Connect Kit I receive a message saying "Cannot Use Device: the connected USB deivce requires too much power"
Can any body help me find a way to fix this problem, or even tell me how i can downgrade to the previous software on my iPad as I am sure this is what is causing the problem as my CCK worked fine before I upgraded.
    Thanks,
    Amber-Rose

One article that might be helpful is here (suggesting you need HUB if it's drawing too much power):
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4106
    @ rotorcraft:
It has to have a DCIM folder, but the directory after the DCIM folder, and the files themselves, have to follow DCF rules (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Designrule_for_Camera_Filesystem)..if it's the structure created by the camera it should be fine but if you change the folder to something other than DSC_xxxx and you change the image filename to something other than ABCD1234.whatever then it won't show up.
You can double check if the kit is being recognized at all in Settings -> About, then scroll to the bottom, it should say like Apple Card reader or something I forget. If it isn't, I would just reboot

  • Camera connection kit not working on ios7

Hi, ever since I updated to ios7 my camera connection kit doesn't work. I have tried it on different iPads, I have tried different connection kits on both my iPads.
What is consistent is the cck not working on ANY ipad with iOS 7. An apple shop in town tried it on their ipad with iOS 6 on it, and it was fine.
How can this be fixed? I updated to ios7.06 hoping it may be fixed by now, but no joy :(
