Camera Connector with Sony DSC-W50

I'm trying to import photos from my Sony DSC-w50 to my 5G 60GB video ipod using the Apple Camera Connector. After connecting the device and turning on the camera I go to the Photo Import menu and select Import Photos it then goes to a screen that says "ready to connect" I'm not sure what to do after that the camera is connected to the ipod via the usb cable and the camera is turned on, seems to be all I can do.
Any ideas?

ptp is to go to a printer. i have 3 transfer modes on my minolta and 2 on my sony, they both only work when they are in normal mode.
one quick note. i had a problem when i was transfering pics on one occasion, it just stopped mid-way and then would no longer recognise the camera. i turned both off then back on, nothing. i did the select+menu reset and everything was back to normal.
i am quickly finding that the camera connector is a finnicky piece now that i am looking to find a card reader that it will recognize. i doesn't recognise much. good luck

  • Ipod camera connector with CANON 350D

    Hi everybody!
I'm trying to connect camera connector with my photocamera but ipod continuosly tell me: "format non supported". I have set my 350D in PTP mode, as apple recommended in the compatibility list, but nothing changes.
    What can I do?
    tnx!
    Manu

You should consider to buy a canon 20 D. it's a lot better then the 350D i you would not have those kind of problems!
    just kidding!
wasn't suppose to work with the cf card you plug directly in your ipod? i would be much faster?

  • Camera connector with 1.0 firmware?

Anybody use camera connector with the original firmware (1.0) of ipod 5g? At store web page of apple tell you that is necessary the 1.1 version of iphoto but i don´t know if i have a pc and i don´t have iphoto can i to use camera connector.
    thanks

    Ivan,
The version 1.1 requirement refers to iPod photo software version 1.1 (for the older iPod)
The 5G iPod version of 1.0 should be compatible with the iPod camera connector.

  • Camera Connector with SanDisk Ultra II SD Plus USB

    Hi,
I recently got hold of this SD card with a USB connector built in, in the hope that I could connect it straight to my iPod Photo via the camera connector. I have been using the camera connector with the Belkin USB2 17-in-1 card reader, but hoped i could ditch the reader and have less to carry.
Basically this SD/USB card does not work.. Fair enough, its not listed as compatible, but the Belkin media reader is not listed either.
The thing that puzzles me, is that the SD card shows as a MassStorage device when connected to the powerbook via its USB connector, the same as the media reader (Apple say check this and it should work) the only other thing is the power maybe, the card says 500mA, so i check the card reader and that is 500mA also.
So, is this something that maybe one day might work as more devices become compatible, or do i cut my losses now, and put the thing on ebay, and just get a cheaper standard SD card, and go back to lugging the media reader with me.
Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks, Keith.

Well now you've got the card in FAT_32 having formatted it in Disk Utility I can't work out what's not working. I suggest you restart the Mac and switch off all your devices and try again.
It may also be worth re-formating the card using the phone or camera (if possible). I suspect the problem here is that you're trying to access a 4Gb card through a camera that may or may not support 4Gb cards. Have a look at this compatiblity list.
It may be worth considering a card reader if this is the case. They aren't expensive and will be much quicker and easier than connecting through the camera. Unless of course it works if you connect your phone via USB using the k750i's USB Mass Storage facility.

  • Camera connector with a usb media reader.

Has anyone used the camera connector with a usb memory reader? One of the many reasons I bought the ipod was to dump photos to it from one media card while I'm shooting on another. I bought the belkin media reader but the video ipod doesn't support it. If you have been able to dump photos from a media card with using your camera please let me know what you devices you were using? I have heard that the battery drains quickly when transfering photos.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Try Soft reseting your ipod, then Plug your card reader into the Camera connector before you attach it to your iPod, then plug everything in then it might work if not, this is what i'm using to do it.
Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 15-in-1 Media Card Reader/Writer (model number: F5U249ea) Sandisk 512mb Ultra 2 compact flash card, any card will do and the camera connector, i hook everything up, wait a few seconds then it tells me to transfer whatever amount is on the card.
Where can i dump the photo's on doucarve??

  • Camera Connector with Nikon D2x and 5G 60gb iPod

Has anyone had experience with the D2x (Nikon) and the camera connector on a 5G 60gb iPod?
The camera is compatable with Mass Storage and PTP. The camera works great with iPhoto...plug it in and iPhoto opens and you click the button to download.
Also, I see that the new iPod has a longer lasting battery. Does this help when downloading a large card.
By the way, I called Belkin and their camera connectors are NOT compatable with the new 5G models and the guy said that there is nothing on the drawing board.
    G5 Dual 2ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.4)   3.5gb RAM; 400gb HD

I purchased the 60gb iPod-Video (5G) and after several failed attempts I found the proceedure to upload photos on to the iPod using an Apple camera connector with my D2x. Here goes:
First, reset the ipod (just a precaution...hold down the center button with the Menu button for 6 sec). The screen will go black with a golden apple in the center. The menu will display after a short period.
Turn on the ipod (if it isn't already on from the above proceedure).
Plug in the camera connector to the iPod (without the USB cable attached).
Attach the USB cable to your camera and turn on the camera.
Plug in the cable from the camera to the camera connector which is attached to the iPod.
Wait 20-30 sec and it should work.
I tested the speed in both PTP mode and Mass Storage mode. The import for both was 200mb.
    PTP = 3minutes 10 sec
Mass Storage 1 minute 59 sec.
The battery did go down a lot (about 1/4 after both imports), but after you detach the camera connector and go back to the main menu, it seems to go back up to about 95% full.

  • Camera Connector with DSC-P150 - all music has gone from Ipod

Hi. I purchased ipod camera connector. Tried using it with my ipod video 60gb and Sony DSC-P150. First of all wouldn't work said error. Kept re-trying and then plugging into my laptop when I noticed all my music I had imported (approx 310 albums) had totally disappeared. Majorly annoyed. I've since have the photo import working by using the PCP Bridge option. I'm wondering is there any remote possibility that the songs are now on the camera? I have something in the bottom right of my camera that says 101-9562. have tried looking by plugging camera into laptop but cant find them. Also the memory card is only 1GB and there was approx 25GB of music.

Try holding down the Shift key in Windows when launching iTunes 7. In the resulting dialogue you will get the option to create a new library or navigate to an existing one. The default location for your iTunes library is in \Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\. Look in there and see if you have more than one library file (they have the extension .itl) If you have more than one try opening them in turn, you may find your original library is still intact: How to open an alternate iTunes Library file
If you have updated iTunes recently have a look at this troubleshooting page it may be of some help: No content shows up in iTunes after updating

  • Does the camera connection kit work with sony DSC-HX9V?

Hi, just been given iPad 3 by my lovely wife (great present) and want to start using it with my Sony DSC-HX9V camera to import pictures and video.  I've heard that there can be power supply issues (I guess you can turn off USB charge on the camera), but grateful if anyone has used this combo successfully before I shell-out £25. Thanks....

It won't as the Sony DSC-HX9V records video into MTS files and not into MOV ones. Sorry - there is no way you can watch or even import(!) your movies on an iPad without using a desktop computer.

However, I got a problem while using this camera with iPod +Camera connector.
When I plug this camera into camera connector , ipod will transfer all photo from the camera , but do nothing with the video.

All video file ( *.mp4 ) are all in the folder named " /MP_ROOT/101MNV01/ "
Can anyone help me how to make this sync from camera to ipod automatically both photo and video ?

Hi there, I'm having exactly the same problem. Have you found out how to do it?

  • Camera Connector and Sony

    Hi,
I'm having a hard with my new camera connector. I've got a Sony DSC-P92, I know it isn't written on the supported models for this product but that's not necessarily my point. I've got 2 USB connection modes : PTP and Normal. I've read about it on apple's website and it should work because I have PTP. Anyway, I pluged everything but the ipod said "no card inserted". My card is a Sony 128x2 Memory Stick. More than that, I know the camera recognizes the ipod 'cause it went in the USB mode when I pluged the camera connector in the ipod.
So, (sorry for that long story)I went in a Sony store with a copy of the Apple camera connector model compatibility list. I tried a DSC-P200 (listed by the way) but same words: "no card inserted". Tried again switching between the 2 USB modes but nothing again.
At last, I bought a new ipod connector and tried again. This time, I went in the store and tried with a card reader (Dazzle) but same thing again. I went home and reseted my ipod and reformated my Memoy stick.
Again, nothing except "no card inserted"

  • TS2634 Can I use my old ipod camera connector with ipad [3]? I keep getting accessory not supported message

I have tried to use my old camera connector and it doesn't work. many posts indicate the new ones don't work either.  Anyone know if the USB camera connector would or should work with my ipad and my rebel T2i camera?  Would buying a new connector work?
    Thanks.

What do you mean by "old camera connector"? Do you mean the one that was put out years ago for the iPod? No, that doesn't work. The current Camera Connection Kit works just fine.

  • Lightroom 1.4.1 says JPEG corrupt but aren't with Sony DSC-V1

An old batch of jpeg pictures taken with a Sony DSC-V1 point and shoot can longer be viewed or edited in Lightroom 1.4.1 (or 2.0 beta) on Windows Vista.
Lightroom 1.3 can read them without problem. Current workaround is to batch convert them in Photoshop.

    Hi MacAddict39,
Do you use Port Forwading in your Modem to open the ports for iChat ?
Does the device insist that you specify Protocols as well ?
Can you select a "Both " option for port 5190 or is it two separate lines, one for TCP and one for UDP ?
If you device does work this way and you have two entries for port 5190 delete the TCP one
Next go to IChat and Log out of AIM.
Go to the Preferences > Accounts
Go to the Server Settings tab.
Near the top change where it says port 5190 to 443.
This stops any Port Forwarding clash with port 5190.

  • Using IPOD 5g and camera connector with Nikon D70 raw

    Hi,
I take pictures in 'RAW and Basic' ie digital negative and JPG on a D70. On the Apple IPOD camera connector page there is a user comment referring to having found a posting giving a correct way of transferring RAW files to IPOD which works. Obviously I am not expecting to be able to see the raw pictures just the basic jpgs. But does anyone know the correct procedure for transferring RAW and emedded basic PG files over to IPOD and where they are stored on the IPOD so that I can recover them later?
    Dell Latitude D610   Windows XP

i have a minolta 7d and i used to take pics in raw+jpg figuring that it would save the raw and hopefully show the jpgs. no such luck. i talked to the apple gurus and no one seems to know how to make it look at the jpgs and not just the raw files.
i've played around with everything that i could figure out and to no avail. so now i just shoot in raw, tranfer to the ipod (via usb cord to the camera) and when i get home transfer them to the pc.
p.s. the jpgs are still moved over to the ipod and you can get them when you transfer them back to the puter you just can't view them while on the ipod. if you were to shoot just jpg then of course you would be able to see them.

  • Is plugging in the camera connector with a Scandisk do anything?

I am trying to transfer one jpeg imge to the iPad so I can email it. The USB wont work as it requires more power. The connector with the scan disk slot doesn't do anything it just sits there. I hoped something would open and tell me that i could upload a photo or tell me I am an idiot for sticking it in over and over again hoping something will happen.
Has anyone ever seen these work or does it just come in the kit and not have a purpose for the iPad. I can't find the issue addressed although there are a few posts about the Scandisk.

Penguin's suggestion should work. The camera connection kit will work to transfer photos you create/name onto your device. You just have to follow that naming protocol. SD cards are the best, but you can use USB flash drives. You just have to find the right ones that work with the device and follow the naming convention. It's been my experience that sandisk and kingston don't work well simply because of their bundled software, that tries to run and triggers the 'too much power' warning.
Failing transfering it via the CCK, you can always fall back on e-mailling it to yourself as a 'tide me over' until you get the camera connection kit figured out.
