Camera detected in MAX but not found in Labview

Hello,
I have a Thorlabs USB camera (DCC1645C). I have installed the drivers, and MAX is detecting the camera but when I try to open the camera with NI-IMAQdx, it doesnt appear. I have also tried to open the camera with NI-IMAQ but I wasn't able.
If I try with Vision Express/Vision adquisition, the camera is displayed, I am able to select it and configure the camera adquisition, but when I execute the program there an error: "camera not found".
It would be great some help.

Hi,
What is your LabVIEW version, your Vision software versions and iMAQdx version?
Since Thorlabs is using USB 2.0, you can read about the USB 2.0 section of this link: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/4331B4AA3AE95233862574C200539A2F
Check if you have the required iMAQdx driver and its compatibility with your other NI softwares:

Why is my USB camera recognized in MAX but not in LabView?

I am trying to use myRiO to acquire video using a Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920.
I am using LabView 2013 and have the NI-IMAQdx 4.2.0.3.0 software installed on the myRIO.

I plugged my Logitech camera into the myRIO USB port. In both cases, LabView failed to recognize my Logitech camera. However, in both cases, it was able to use the integrated Webcam in my laptop to acquire images. When I disabled the integrated camera, it did not find any camera.

Have you tried deleting your "session in" control & recreate it? I have come across situation a while back where the control did not get refreshed with latest values from Max and it gave me pretty much same errors as what you see (I believe it was due to a small name change of the resource which did not get refreshed in the session control). I say that because you mentioned camera resource getting detected properly with Max & working. Doesn't hurt to give it a try...

Camera works in MAX but not in LabVIEW

I've been struggling a lot with getting a DCC3240M camera from Thorlabs working in LabVIEW. The supplied software (Thorcam) works as it should. However, the LabVIEW SDK does not work as it should, it gives an error 155 "the operation is not supported".
Instead of the SDK I tried the DirectShow drivers and now the camera turns up in MAX and works as it should. It also shows up with IMAQdx Enumerate Cameras.vi and in the Vision Acquisition Express vi. BUT when I try to run either IMAQdx Open Camera.vi or the Express-vi it doesn't work. Open Camera gives a DirectShow error code 0x80040275 "No capture hardware is available, or the hardware is not responding." And when i try to select the camera in the express vi, a red icon appears and I can only select "Cancel":
It's really really annoying that the camera evidently works with the provided drivers, but I cannot use it in LabVIEW.
I would be grateful for any ideas of what is wrong. I am running 32-bit LabVIEW on 64-bit Win8.1.

Issue solved!
I thoroughly removed all drivers that came with the camera and then I installed the manufacturers drivers (IDS) instead of Thorlabs drivers. And now it works, the camera still shows up in MAX and doesn't work. But now the provided VIs work. So I'm happy. It only took me a week to figure it out.

Why does the counter work in MAX, but not Labview?

Please help, I have been away from Labview for over 3 months, and I am quite rusty....
Last year, I successfully configured NI9401 to measure period (seconds) by counting the rising edges of my sensor signal. Since then, I have aquired a new PC, and loaded all my software into it, including the Labview VI's that successfully worked on the old computer.
I can see the digital signal using MAX and the test panel for the NI9401, so, I know my wiring and my TTL signal is OK, but, when I try to run the attached VI, nothing happens except the error below.. How do I tell this VI to look for the signal on MOD3/CTR0 and channel 14?

OK, now. Resolved the issue. The vi is fine, but, some shaky wires were identified...worked in MAX but not in the vi. Now that the connections have been tightened up, it works for both. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Installed but not found on computer

I've successfully installed the latest 10.1 for my 64-bit laptop with Windows 7. A check by Adobe confirms that it was properly installed, and that I have the correct version for my computer.
AND YET, there is no icon for it anywhere, it doesn't come up on my list of Programs, when I enter "Adobe Flash Player" in the search bar it shows no such program, and when I try to play a FLV file, it won't give me Flash Player as an option. So..... I have it on my computer, but I apparently am not allowed to see it or access it?
I've uninstalled and re-installed several times, and cannot for the life of me figure out what the problem is. Any help for this maddening situation?

Yes, I read his comments and I made sure Shockwave Flash Object was enabled in IE as he suggested. I am trying to make a flip book. One of the posts here in the forum said to make a SWF file, which I did. But now I can't figure out how to do anything with it. I thought Flash Reader was the right program to look at it, but maybe I'm wrong? Maybe I need Flash itself? The flip book thing has me pretty frustrated and confused. All the sites and software I've tried are poor quality. I was hoping I could figure out how to do it through Adobe to get better quality.

Hi, Flash Player is a browser plugin, not a stand alone Player. You should have Shockwave Flash Object in add ons in IE and make sure it is enabled.
Your Flash files are in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
You may want the Adobe Media Player:http://www.adobe.com/products/mediaplayer/

Suggest you try the following two steps starting with the first one. If it doesn't correct the problem perform the second step.

Airport Express green, but not found in Itunes10 - Bonjour problem?

my AX is connected to my network (join a network) and connected to speakers to use as remote speakers on iTunes (airtunes). Connection works great, status is green. I have 2 windows pc's on the network: XP and Vista.
As long as iTunes was shipped with Bonjour 1.0 this was no problem.
From iTunes version 8, when Bonjour 2.0 was introduced, the Airport was not visible anymore in iTunes, and also not in Airport Utility. Strange fact however: the AX seems to work fine (green light) and I can view the configuration in Airport Utility via 'Configure Other...' and entering the ip address on my local network. all options are set correctly for Airtunes.
I believe this is a bonjour related problem, as until now, the fix was to uninstall Bonjour 2.0 and install an old version (1.0.6)
iTunes10 however does not seem to work with Bonjour1.0
So I'm at a loss: my AX is not visible in iTunes, not in XP, not in Vista.
Other things I tried:
* disable firewall completely: no luck
* reset airport express and reconfigured (all GREEN light and visible via configure other, but not found in a scan of Airport Utility when using bonjour2.0
* open port 5353 TCP/UDP in my router (D-Link DI-524) for the AX: no luck
Anyone having the same issue?

I have exactly the same problem. Extremely annoying. Before, I could fix it by re-installing Bonjour after each iTunes-upgrade. But after version 10, that doesn't work any more. Or rather, I can see the AX in Airport Utilities, but it doesn't show up in iTunes. (Weird thing is, it works fine on my other computer, both run Windows Vista).
I guess one answer would be to roll back to an earlier version of iTunes?
Is Apple aware of this issue? It must be a bug in Bonjour. It's been around a long time now. Please fix it!

Looked for but Not found

I have looked for but not found. So that means that more than likely I have just not looked in the right place.
What I am trying to find is the total number of contacts the the 8530 will hold. IE; 500? 1000?
I know that each contact will take so many numbers and so many email address's but how many individual contacts will it allow you to add?

I have yet to see a credible source publish actual limits for records on any of the calendar, memo, tasks, or contacts apps. If you find one please post. I usually tell users to keep it manageable. To me 6,000 contacts? Seriously?
Heck I wasn't stationed with 6,000 people in the U.S Army! .
Remember the device memory is flash memory, designed for keeping all device functions running at peek levels. Storing large amounts of records just takes that much dynamic memory and makes it static.

Yeah, of course you can. All you do is, open PhotoBooth, record your video and then, once you have stopped the video recording just drag the movie out of the bottom of PhotoBooth onto the desktop. It is in .mov format so you can then add it to iMovie for further editing or just upload it to youTube as it is.

IPod detected by Windows but not by ipod apps; installation freezes

As the installation CD felt out of the box I did not read the warning label that I first should install the drivers and then connect the ipod, probably this was a bad idea..
Now I cannot install the iPod nano software. The CD tries to detect the nano, does so and then wants to format it. This format lasts several hours and then reproducibly failes with "an error is occured" and after confirmation with "install script failure" or so.
The downloaded very last version of the updater does only waits for me to detect the nano but does not realize when I actually do it. It just freezes before showing me the serial number (I read that this should happen), so I cannot upgrade
or reformat the nano this way.
A normal nano reset by pressing those buttons until the apple logo comes does have no visible effect.
Rebooting Windows XP, trying to deinstall and reinstall in
various combinations neither.
When trying to install from the CD without connected nano, it works but itunes then does not recognize it. The list
of running daemons show the ipod service though.
The nano is though recognized by Windows as a USB hard drive and shown in the "my desktop" area as well as in the
task bar as removable media.
I connected the nano to serveral different USB 2.0 ports on the back of my computer.
Any idea?

IPOD detected by Windows but NOT iTunes – possible solution

I have a new 30GB Video IPOD with an AMD PC running Windows XP SP2 and like many others posting on this site, my iTunes stopped recognizing my IPOD. ITunes did work correctly immediately after my initial software installation and I was able to sync some music, but it failed thereafter and I was unable to add any more files. Like many other users, I tried all suggested fixes including the 5R’s, uninstalling and re-installing the software, changing selective start-up items using “MSCONFIG”, etc. Nothing worked – until I tried the following…
1) Uninstall iTunes & IPOD updater software using Windows Add/Remove Software tool in the Start/Settings menu
2) Reboot Windows
3) Connect IPOD to USB port (Windows should detect the IPOD)
4) Run the original IPOD CD installation disk, load the IPOD Updater software (but not iTunes …yet)
5) The IPOD Updater software loads first, so when prompted to load iTunes, wait (you may minimize the window), go into the IPOD Updater software (Start/Programs menu) and open the IPOD Updater window by clicking on the icon. If your system works like mine, the IPOD should now be recognized and the “RESTORE” button should now be available. Don’t click the “RESTORE” button – just leave this window open (minimize the window if you wish) and go back to the iTunes install window.
6) Continue with the installation of the iTunes software.
7) Once installed try opening the iTunes program to see if IPOD is detected (at this point it still didn’t work for me)
8) With the IPOD still connected, and the IPOD updater window still open, go to Add/Remove Software (Start/Settings) and click on “remove” iTunes – you’ll be prompted to “Repair” or “Remove”. Choose REPAIR. Once this process is complete, try opening iTunes again – at this point my computer now recognized the IPOD

With Windows 7 or 8 on my 2710p (built in webcam), the camera driver says "HP Webcam not found"

I had the webcam running on my 2710p with Windows 7 for quite a while, but after I plugged in an external webcam once (I think it was Microsoft branded), it's almost as if my built in webcam dissappeared. I tried formatting the computer to Windows 7 and now Windows 8 (both 32bit), hoping it that a fresh install would fix the issue, but when I try and install the sonix webcam driver from the hp drivers page for the 2710p (using W7 Home Premium 32bit drivers), it says "The HP Webcam has not found! Please plug in the HP webcam and then run installation again." The only unknown device in my device manager is the PCI controller, which I don't really care for.
What's going on here? I'm pretty tech literate but I'm kind of stumped here.

Webcams are fragile and I suspect yours has died. I think the fact that it happened while you were using an external webcam is coincidence.
