Camera Error Storm2 9550

Sigh... I have become victim to the camera error "Could not start camera. Close other applications and try opening the camera again." I've tried battery pulls and all sorts of other tricks to no avail. I can't wipe the phone and start over because I run a macbook with snow leopard 10.6 (Desktop Manager doesn't work and usb won't recognize the phone). Can't just have Verizon replace it because it's almost 2 years old and no longer under contract. Might as well just buy a new phone but don't really have the means to. I'm not sure if it's some issue with an app I downloaded (I deleted a bunch of the apps I had recently downloaded with no success) or if something disconnected when it was dropped. Pressing on the lense doesn't seem to do anything. Anyone have a similar issue and find a solution? I'm likely to be stuck with this phone for a while yet.

Reboot the device in safe mode if you think a third party device is at fault
Run the Device Self Test if you suspect a hardware issue.

WP Camera Error When Starting App

Sometimes on my Lumia 928 when loading Qik I get an error that says my camera didnt load properly please restart. I have to force close the app then restart it to get it to work again.

What is considered a "large" address book - over 100, over 1000? Just wondering as to the scale.
Also, that doesn't address the Camera Error that started this thread. Is this a known issue that has been identified and will be addressed very soon? Not to be snarky but a video messaging service that doesn't work with the device camera is useless.
In all seriousness, after reading the MS store reviews, and the limited comments here, it seems like everyone is complaining about crashes, lockups and needing to restart the phone to get the camera working. How could you guys put this out (at least without huge flashing BETA in the name)?? For an app that needs to go "viral" for success - for early adoptors to get their friends to use it - you're blowing it big time. Who is their right mind would try to get their friends to use this the way it is now?? As it stand all my friends think I'm some kind of fool for using a Windows Phone in the first place - and then for me to come out and say, "hey guys, try this great new MS app..." when it flat out doesn't work . Those of us using MS devices and services are your biggest supporters and want to support your ecosystem and for you guys to succeed - and we are also your critics. I hope you guys and gals at Skype represent the "new" Microsoft that is trying to listen to their users. If you are, please hear us - fix this mess. And stop putting out crap - or at least call it a beta so we know to expect issues. You guys need to be doing it BETTER if you want to catch up to Apple and Google. Please send Mr Nadella my regards.

Asha 306 camera error

Hey.
I have a weird error after taking a picture. It just sais "operation failed" 2 seconds after capturing image and doesn't save it on my memory card. I tried to reinstall software with nokia suite, but it didn't work. Also tried to turn off and on and taking out the memory card. Nothing works.

Camera Error

I need help. When I open the camera app, it says "camera error: camera is being used ".. My friend had reset the whole playbook many times, but still shows the same error. In addition to this problem, I cannot use the video chat. Audio call is okay. Please help!!! Thank you.

Samsung Convoy 2 Camera Errors

I have the same issue with my Samsung Convoy 2 . I have owned it for about 1 month and until today it took pics and vids. This afternoon it started displaying this when I press the Camera button : "Camera Error". I tried removing the battery and card for ten minutes and it still has this issue.
Any other ideas?

Samsung Convoy 2 Camera Error

Don't know why but my brand new (1 day old) phone is now registering a "Camera Error" & I cannot take pics or video.....anyone have any suggestions/solutions??

I know the camera is definitely an important feature on any device, especially a new device! I see you previously posted about the memory card from your previous phone not displaying the pictures on your new phone. Did you do the formatting you were advised to do in that post? Did this problem start before or after the memory card troubleshooting? You definitely should not have the camera error; therefore, it may be due to the memory card. The best way to see what is going on, is process of elimination.
1) Try removing the memory card from the device, power the phone off, remove the battery for 30 seconds, power back on without the memory card. Try using the camera.
If the camera works with no errors, it may be the memory card and not the phone.
2) If the phone works without the card, try inserting the card while the phone is on. Try using the camera again. If you get another error, then we know it is the card.
If the camera doesn't work at all still, please send me a Private Message, and I will be happy to personally assist you.

Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro Camera Error Issue

Hi, I am using Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro for the past 2 months. Suddenly from Yesterday onwards the camera is not connecting and throw up a message "Camera error - Cannot connect to Camera".
I tired various options like restart the phone, clear the cache in the app. Nothing Works. Can any one help me to fix this problem. The front camera connects and main camera is showing error.

Did you restart the device already? If not do so. Did you try a third party camera app? If not dowload from the playstore the goolge camera. Did you try to run the camera in the secure mode? Where all the other apps that might be blocking it are not availavle? Finally, if you properly back up your phone, you can do the factory reset and get it as new from factory. You should find the factory reset in settings somewhere towards the bottom of the options. Be aware all your apps and date will get erased by this, but you will get the phone system as new from the factory.

No camera error

I am unable to sync via WiFI and when I conect via USB I get a NO CAMERA FOUND error.
Any ideas?

First the camera error.
Your Mac has an applications that tell your Mac what to do when a camera is connected. That application is Image Capture. Open Image Capture, select preferences and set the application to do Nothing when a camera is connected. That will stop the camera error. Image Cature on your Mac is at
Applications > utilities > image Capture.
For Wi-Fi sync you have to click in the box to allow sync by Wi-Fi. This selection is made in iTunes.
Connect your iPad to your Mac and start iTunes. Select your iPad in the left column and click on General in the right column. Scroll down and look for the Sync via Wi-Fi option and select it.
iTunes must be running on your Mac for the sync to happen. Sync by tapping on your iPad
Settings > General > Wi-Fi Sync > Sync Now

Hp camera error 1000

I have received a solution for the camera 1000 error- to reset to factory settings, but it keeps recurring and sometimes the solution just do not work. I cannot copy and scan when this happens.
What could be the reason for that error message? Is there a permanent solution?

I understand you're receiving the same error message "Camera error 1000" again. It seems like you have performed all the necessary steps from previous posts.

Front camera error on my BBPLAYBOOK

on my playbook when i try 2 open my front camera its not opening . its showing camera error & the camera is in use .close any other instances of the camera and try again...

Best thing to do with any apparent hardware fault is
1. Restart (you already tried that)
if that does not work
2. Backup data and perform a Security Wipe (Settings, Security, Security wipe) and set your playbook up again.
if that does not work
3. Debrick.
If debrick does not work, call your country's RIM support number ( www.blackberry.com/playbook )Tell them you have already reinstalled the OS using Desktop Software (because that is what they will walk you through otherwise) Depending in whether you are in warranty you will then have various repair/replace/trashcan options.
Debrick.
Backup your data the best way you know how.
Make sure you know your Blackberry ID and password
Turn Playbook right off (i.e. Shut Down til black)
Download latest Blackberry Desktop Software to your PC or Mac and start it up
The next bit happens very quickly.
Connect the Playbook by USB cable.
If the red light starts to glow or playbook starts up, press the Off button til it goes off.
Because Playbook is off you will get an error message basically saying Retry or Update (on Mac it may say Repair rather than Update)
Quickly select the Update (or Repair) option
The Playbook will start to get a new OS that will take al least an hour to download via the PC
Follow the registration process using your current Blackberry ID
Add back your email accounts etc.
Reinstall your apps from App World, My World.

Camera error as up OS2

I can't use the camera when i upraded os2. Opening camera there is a sentence : CAMERA ERROR -CAMERA IS IN USE.CLOSE ANY OTHER INSTANSE OF THE CAMERA AND TRY AGAIN. ANYBODY HELP.THANKS A LOT.

Open AirPort Utility - Select the Time Capsule - Click Manual Setup
Click the Wireless tab below the row of icons
Make sure that you have enabled the option to "Allow this network to be extended". (Otherwise, the AirPort Expess cannot be configured correctly to extend the network)
Update to save any changes and give the Time Capsule 30-35 seconds to restart
Perform a Factory Default Reset on the AirPort Express (AX) as follows:
Pull the AX from power
Wait a moment or two
Hold in the reset button and keep holding it in for an additional 8-10 seconds while you plug the AX back in to power. You wil see the amber light begin to blink more quickly during this process
Release the reset button and allow 40-45 seconds for the AX to restart to a slow, blinking amber light
Temporarily, connect an Ethernet cable from your computer to the AX and move the AX to the same room or an adjacent room as the Time Capsule
Open AirPort Utility - Select the AX - Click Manual Setup
Click the Base Station tab below the icons to name the AX, establish a device password and adjust Time Zone settings
Click the Wireless tab next to the Base Station tab
Wireless Mode = Extend a wireless network
Wireless Network Name = Same name as the Time Capsule network
Check mark next to "Allow wireless clients"
Wireless Security = Same setting (probably WPA2 Personal) as the Time Capsule
Wireless Password = Same password as the Time Capsule network
Confirm Password
Click Update to save settings
As soon as you see the message that the settings have been stored, close AirPort Utility immediately and disconnect the Ethernet cable
You should have a green light on the AX in 40-45 seconds
Unplug the AX and move it to a location that is approximately half the distance from the Time Capsule to area that needs more wireless coverage
Report on your results

Camera error 4003

Pls Help! Does anyone know why I'm getting camera error 4003 in the camera application and how to fix?

Call BlackBerry Customer Service to initialize an RMA for warranty repair. From what I have read, this is caused by one of two things, a corrupt software update that affects the camera or a physically defective camera. Customer Service may walk you through a complete Operating System reload or just exchange the unit for a new one.
While the PlayBook is running, you can try a forced reboot reset by pressing and holding the power and volume + button at the same time until the tablet's screen shuts off and reboot is initialized. Chances are this won't fix it but I have read that it can in certain instances. In my opinion I believe that you need to exchange the tablet for a new one.

HP 7 Voice Tab - "Camera Error - Cannot Connect to Camera"

Hi, I am facing a Error on my HP 7 Voice Tab. when i try to open camera it showing Camera Error- Cannot Connect to Camera. I bout this in December 2014. I did few trouble shott like go to Setting -Apps- Camera- Force Stop, Claer Data, Clear Chache and then reboot the tab, But Still i have same error. Even i try installed new Camera apps from google Play Store, but Still the erroe remain same. I was thinking to to do Factory Data Reset. I understand you're unable to connect to your Slate 7 Voice Tab to transfer data from your PCs.
Does the VoiceTab show up in Device Manager when it is connected?
Have you recently updated to KitKat?
How long is the cable you are connecting the devices with?
Is the device in MTU mode?
Clear all cache on the tablet: Settings > Storage > Cached Data. You should have the option to erase all the cached data here.
Hard reset: While the tablet is on, press and hold the power button for 8+ seconds to force shut down. Turn the tablet back on and see if that helps.
Factory reset: Make sure you backup any important files or information first. Settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset.

Sony NEX 5n: I get a " camera error" message when I take a picture

When I take a picture I get a "camera error" message. I have taken the battery out; tried turning the camera on and off; Checked the version of the firmware and I have 1.2 so it is up to date. Tried changing the memory card.

Hello bobbi00! The camera error message is usually an indication that a shutter malfunction has occurred. If the error message appears often even after trying the steps you mentioned, the camera will require service.
