Camera flash will not shut off

My camera flash will not shut off. Have rebooted and totally restored as new phone. Stays on even when phone is powered off.
May be coincidental, but it did not start until after 7.1.1 update.

Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
The Apple logo will Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 10 - 15 Seconds...

If still no resolution -
Restore
[back up information either via iTunes or iCloud if no recent one has been done]
Erase All Content an Settings - FIRST Set up As New - Test Camera Flash
Works? Great! - restore back up
[NOTE - if the flash does not respond again after restoring back up then sorry will have to Erase All Content and Settings Again and then the best part 'Set up As New and manually enter data/information']
If the first time done and after setting up as new and still not resolved - then Id suggest call AppleCare Support or set an appointment up with an Apple Retail Store

The camera light will not go off on this POS iphone4. Any suggestions?

1. Try a Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the slider. Slide to power off. Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the Apple logo.
2. Try a Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

Flash will not turn off

My iPhone 4S got very slightly wet, while in a "Life Proof" case. Now the flash/spot light will not shut off. It drains the battery in about an hour. Even when the phone will not boot up due to low battery, the flash is still on.
What should I do?

my ipod touch 2nd gneration works fine, but it will not shut off. This use to work: I would hold down both top and face button for about 10 seconds and it would shut down. Now nothing happens no matter how long I hold those 2 buttons down. Any suggestions?

My ipod touch will not shut off. It is just a black screen with the time dial turning. It does not do anything. How can I get it to do something?

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

I have had it two years and this is the first issue. My main concern is that the computer does not recognize it in order to reinitialize it. Menu/Select is to reset the device, not turn it off. You need to press and hold the Play/Pause button until the display turns off. Then activate the hold switch.

You should try taking it to the Apple Store and asking for a replacement.
Or you could enable Assistive Touch from Settings>General>Accessibility.

That is incredibly strange! I'm so sorry your son is having this issue. I will be delighted to check into this and see what we can do.
I checked my resources and I didn't see any other recorded reports of this same issue. I truly appreciate you trying to reboot the phone as I would have suggested this as well.

I noticed this evening that my flash will not go off, anybody have any tips?

sounds like the proximity sensor is bad, you may need to have this serviced. First try to do a restore in itunes, if this doesn't help, stop by the Apple Retail Store with it.
