Camera focus is no longer working, suggestions?

I have a Motorola Razr M that I purchased in June 2013. The phone's camera always worked fine. At one point about 6 months ago, the camera stopped focusing. No, the phone wasn't dropped, it wasn't physically damaged in any way. So I cleared cache, did a hard reset, cleaned up files and freed space - nothing made a difference. So I downloaded an app that ending up focusing even better than my original camera. I used this app anytime I wanted to snap a pic. I have 2 little ones....so I take lots of pics. FYI - when the focus worked on the downloaded app, it started working on the original camera too.
About 2 weeks ago the focus stopped working again, this time on the downloaded app that I had been using. I tried the original camera on the phone and that wasn't focusing either. Again, I tried all the methods that are usually suggested, and nothing has worked. I uninstalled the downloaded app and hard reset my phone, then turned it on and re-installed the app - and still nothing. In 2 weeks I've already missed out on a bunch of pics I would have taken!
This is sooo frustrating. Yes, I have insurance, but I'd have to pay $99 for a refurbished phone...that seems crazy to me seeing this one was free when I last upgraded. And I certainly can't spend $300-$700 on a new phone, which means I have to wait until June 2015 for a new phone at a decent price.
Man, these cell phone companies certainly have us all by the balls!
Has anyone experienced this with their phones? Any suggestions? I tried calling Verizon a few times- but after I go through a ton of prompts, say the same things over and over and get passed from rep to rep - I end up hanging up frustrated and without a resolution.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Does your camera work fine in other programs like PhotoBooth, iChat, or iMovie?
While you answer that question, troubleshooting you can start with:

The kit is firmly inserted in thhe iPad's dock ? You could also try a reset and see if it's recognised after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
I haven't had problems using the kit with SD cards from Canon cameras . What capacity is the card, and it's an SD or SDHC card - if it's an SDXC card that's formatted as ExFAT then it won't be recognised

I think you can try two things : the soft reboot, and if it does not work, the hard reboot. Don't worry, you can't lose data with these two reboots.
Soft reboot :
1) Hit the three following keys at the same time :
- Alt
- Left Shift
- Delete
2) wait 2 minutes for the Blackberry to wake up.
Hard reboot :
1) your Blackberry device is on
2) remove the battery and wait for a minute
3) Put the battery back
4) wait 5 minutes for the device to wake up.

I upgraded my camera and opening a camera raw file no longer works

I went from a Nikon D3000 to a Nikon D5200. I have an old version of Elements (version 8) and I no longer can open a camera raw file. I tried finding an answer in the support area but am not sure I found what I needed to know. Since my camera is new and didn't exist at the time I purchased Elements does that mean that my old version doesn't support my camera?

You need to buy PSE12 or Lightroom 5.
Alternatively, download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your raw files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the files will open in all versions of PSE (keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)

Camera Kit will no longer work in reading an SD card

I have used the Camera Connection Kit to transfer photos to my iPad via an SD card without any problems until I upgraded to iOS 2.4.1. Now it will not read a card at all. I have tried re-formatting the card, using other cards, and re-booting the iPad. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

How to make your ipad read an SD card:
-Connect your memory to a pc
-open the sd memory
-then create a folder with the name: DCIM
-and ready to go! now you only have tu put all your pictures inside the folder!

HT4101 My camera connection kit no longer works

Nothing happens when I connect my camera connection kit with SD card into iPad 3 port. Last time I used it...several months ago... it worked OK, but now, something's not clicking. It doesn't seem to sit in securely...that is, it sort of sags with its own weight. If I hold level and firmly, still nothing happens. I reluctant to force it in too much for fear of damaging iPad's pins. Anyone else have this problem? It seems wrong that the connection kit failed after just one trip (about 10 imports).

The only thing you could also try is backup the iPad, restoring it as new and try again to connect it, just to make sure the issue isn't at the iPad.

Since the iPad doesn't have charging issues though, I don't expect this to have any effect, but you could try it.

Camera Plus Pro no longer works on OS 7. Updated to latest version but App will not open.

The program appears to open, and just when you would expect the shutter to appear and reveal the subject, the program simply closes. Is anyone else having this problem?

Camera Plus Pro app saves photos and videos in Quick Roll, within the app. (Although there is a direct save to Camera Roll option in Settings)
Hence, if you are saving photos to Quick Roll, than copy all the items to Camera Roll first, by tapping on Sync All button present in the bottom bar.
Now you can uninstall the app, if needed.

Help! 6D lcd has stopped working and autofocus no longer working!

Ok - I scoured the internet as best a I could and could not find any troubleshooting with the issue I am currently having with my 6D. The camera stopped working in the middle of photos I was taking of a sunset over the lake. The camera LCD was no longer working (allowing me to look at photos, bring up the menu etc) it was just black. However, when I turn the camera off, it displays the "sensor cleaning" on the back of the LCD so that must mean the screen is working, its just not allowing me to see any information displayed by my camera.
The display at the top right of the camera by the shutter button that shows all the aperture, ISO and shutter information works and is accurately monitoring the light change. The display when I look through the viewfinder showing the light meter is working too. I can change settings in manual mode and it will display the changes in both the viewfinder and upper shoulder display.
However, the other issue is the autofocus isn't working correctly. When the lens (and I've tried different lenses, they all have the same issue) tries to autofocus, It sometimes will correctly (I can see it hit focus when the small box in the viewfinder lights up ready) but the majority of the time It will just act like its in manual focus mode and shoot everytime the shutter is pressed.
THE OTHER thing is the shutter button is permanently pressed in. Its not "raised" like it usually is allowing you to lightly tap it gain focus. I cannot change where the focus point is either, its permanently stuck on one to the right of the center point.
One small detail, at some point during my shooting today the rubber eye cap around the viewfinder fell off. Not sure when this happened because I was wearing glasses and didn't notice it came off but was wondering that would cause any of these issues (can't see how it would..)
I shot A LOT of photos today, all in RAW. I mean.. I was literally shooting all day for 8 hours, NON-STOP so I'm not sure if was something that could cause these issues either.
The camera is still recording the correct image data to the card since the issue started, I checked on my computer.
Not sure whats going on here, and I'm really worried! I'm worried that water or sand could have gotten into the camera and cause the issue, even thought I was being extra careful that this wouldn't happen since I was on the beach (Lake Michigan, fresh water).
If anyone has any ideas to help please let me know!

I suspect your last paragraph explains the problem. Try unstick in the shutter button by trying to carefully insert a business card between the button and camera body and sweep the circumference of the button to remove the sand particle.

I got the same problem with my iphone 5 rear camera and tried the solutions suggested here but it did not work.
The camera application which came with ios7 is frozen as soon as it opens. I does not take photos or switch between cameras.
I have been able to use the front camera with Snapseed, QR reader . however no application is able to open my rear camera.
I am not sure but it can related with the application updates either ios7 or the camera applications already installed on our iphone. Uninstalling those apps which has access to camera and rebooting may solve the problem. This is just an idea !

Marcello, I am having the same problem. When following the advice of many in the community to start iTunes in 32-bit mode, I get the following error after I have done so:
I am running 10.9.2 on a mac mini.
I am hoping this will be fixed or at least a solid answer could be given that iTunes will no longer support certain types of media going foward.

They did change it to Outlook recently, but while not pretty, I can access mine with Safari 4.0 still...
You can also set it up in Mail so you don't need a browser at all if you want.

You mention that your iPod nano is no longer recognized by iTunes after an update. Reinstalling iTunes is a good troubleshooting step, and if the device still doesn't appear in iTunes, try the following steps next:
Turn off your computer and your iOS device or iPod, then turn them on again.
Check to make sure that you've installed all required updates for your computer.
Verify that the 30-pin to USB cable or Lightning Connector to USB cable is free of debris and not damaged. If another cable is available, test with that cable instead.
USB cables that are bundled with third-party products or accessories might work only to charge those products and might not transmit data. Also, if you're using a third-party case or extended battery pack, try removing the case and connecting the Apple-supplied USB cable directly to your device.

I have the exact same problem with some apps.
Even when I try some websites in Safari and Chrome that require loading big chunks of data they crash.
Today it crashed in two new places. In the notification center and when I opened newstand app I no longer was able to return to the main window and the dock disappeared.
I have my ipad retina for about three months now but latelly this issue has became more frequent. What should I do?
Should I update to the latest firmware and do what raymond73 said?
Is there a fix for this issue?
Has Apple said anything about this? Because I see that this issue is happening to a lot of people.
Is it possible to downgrade to iOS 6?
Is it a firmware problem? That can be fixed in future releases? Or an hardware issue?
