Camera for Edge 95 MXP codec

Is there an aftermarket HD camera (Sony ?) that will connect into the back of the Edge 95 codec .
The Cisco Precision HD camera is no longer available as a spare part .
Regards
Jonathan

Hi Varun,
Rather than adding a question to an old thread on a different issue, it would be better to post your new query as a new discussion.
But, as a quick answer to your question, no, the MXP 95 does not necessarily come with the Multisite Licence, unless it was ordered that way.
If you have a Multisite Licence on your device you will be able to see it listed on the System Status / System Information page on the Web Interface, it'll show "Multisite option  True".
The part number you need is LIC-EDG95-MS, which also requires the LIC-EDG95-NPP licence to work.
If you don't have one installed, you will need to purchase one, although, with the Edge 95 MXP being an End of Sale device, you may no longer be able to do so.

  • Video camera for greenscreen work +

Hi.  I'm going to be setting up an in-home studio for a weekly, 1 hour show (to be viewed on the internet, not sure if could ever get it onto public access stations but might like the option).
The studio will be 20' long by 16' wide (probably minus a carveout for a bathroom) - but will retain a 20' length for filming.
For noise control, planning to hang heavy black curtains on the sides and camera end, add some carpeting, and possibly some simple / inexpensive treatment on ceiling as well.  Will either paint back wall green or get some chromakey material to shoot against.  WIll have a desk with 1-4 people for the show, positioned 6-8 feet from the greenscreen, and the camera on the other end (roughly 12 feet away)
I'm trying to keep the cost as low as possible, but would like it to be a step up from my $200ish consumer camcorders (a JVC Everio and a Canon HV20), so I've been looking at some used Prosumer or Professional Video Cameras that would allow me to capture the 4:2:2 colorspace I want to do for improved Chroma Keys.  (I have Adobe Master Suite CS6 and will be doing my work in After Effects and Premiere)
We have a Sony DSLR A200 which came with a couple of lenses, but don't have any additional lenses beyond that (or much camera experience - so all sugestions welcome).
    Cameras I've considered include
Sony HVR-V1U which I can get locally for about $1000 or less; one just sold on Ebay for $800ish - I'm a bit reluctant to make that big of a purchase there, but might consider it if a well established seller / store - B&H suggested this camera didn't give you 'true' 4:2:2 colorspace via HDMI; Sony said it did give you the colorspace, what was lacking in these earlier models (or hmdi ports maybe) was ability to transmit full intensity data (for brightness)
Think I might need to buy an HDMI Capturing device to get the 4:2:2 signal  - Atomos Ninja 2 runs just under $700, lets you record directly to Hard Drives so fairly inexpensive option for massive storage; Have also seen a variety of products from Blackmagic (Intensity Pro - and Hyperdeck Shuttle - ranging from $150ish-$350ish)
Canon XF100 is newer, seems to be a superior camera.  Records onto generic Compact Flash cards (which could help limit expense and make for easy editing); and meets 'broadcast standards' of 50Mbps at full HD, and might not need external HDMI capture - saw these at B&H for between $2000 used, $2500 new;  Currently listed for $2100 at 42nd Street Photo.com - which looks legitimate as best I can tell.
Heard BlackMagic Pocket Cinema Camera mentioned as well - much cheaper, roughly $1000 for new - but seemed like those might need a variety ofa dd o (dont know if compatible with my Sony lenses) - and require fast (expensive) SD cards
Would welcome any advice about good video camera for greenscreen work - along with any experience on the Atomos Ninja 2 or Blackmagic products retailed above (and any tidbits on setting up audio/video studio; will be recording some music in there as well)
    Thanks

It's a trade-off ... which is to say, it's like Life in general, right?
That many people that close-in is gonna be awful tight. Two people, ok ... three pushing it ... four is gonna work you some. Getting talent any farther away from the background given the limited distance the camera can move is not likely, without getting too wide a view from the cam exposing off-screen areas.
As to the screen blending into the floor ... you can affix the front edge out from the wall such as to get a curved shape that can visually blend wall into floor, you need a good two-feet radius to pull it off though. And if someone steps back, um ... yea, screens and photog's background paper can easily get a fresh new hole in them.
The "cove" backdrop support is a common commercial photographers tool ... needs to have at least a two-foot radius to be able to blend it visually from floor into wall. Often made by cutting 1/4" ply into 4-foot squares, then drawing a circle on them with a 2-foot radius, cutting out with a jig saw ... resulting in four corner sections that will be used for building the cove itself. Each with that radius of a circle cut out of it. Screw some small wood blocks onto the straight sides, using these blocks to fasten the cove-form sections to the wall and floor, then maybe three blocks flush with the edges of the cove one in the middle of the arc, then equidistant each side from there. Measure from an inch or two off the cove form onto the floor up flush with the bend of the cove and an inch or two past the cove-form up the wall. Cut a strip of 1/4" ply or masonry board or whatnot (some short of thin bendable but tough sheet good) that fits this dimension, push them tight to the form and screw through the sheets into the woodblocks on the cove forms.
Then your screen material can just drap over it and you won't step through it. We built one for our studio, it's 12 foot wide, works great ... and put two layers of 1/4" ply over it, the first stopping just at the edge of the cove form, the other going past that another inche and a half or so.

  • Best camera for compositing

I don't know if that's the best place to ask this but anyway ... I'm considering buying a HD camera for some short-movies and other minor projects but since I'm also interested in studying Shake, I'd like to know which specification I should take a closer look at for maximum results when doing compositing/etc ? Or in other words which of these specs are more important for compositing work ?
Color spacing ? (DVCPRO HD's 4:2:2 vs HDV's 4:2:0) ? High resolution (XLH-1 and JVC HD100's high res vs HVX200's lower res) ? Sharpness ? Progressive chip ? And how do you compare (for compositing purposes only) these flavors of HD with Super 16mm shot on a pin-registered camera using a sharp lens and Spirit datacine ?
(I mentioned these codecs before but my idea is to move to uncompressed for this kind of work)
    Appreciate any help.

I would guess that most of our elitists (humor here :)) would say that mini-DV is crap and HDV is just a larger form of said crap due to the high compression needed to get all that HDV data onto a mini-DV tape.
Having said that, I soley use an HDV cam (Sony HVR-A1U). I always shoot HDV and in cam downconvert when capturing into FCP.
If I had had the money and transport (inconspicuous travel) wasn't my thing, I would have gone with that Panasonic P2 one (can't remember the name) or another true HD cam.
But, I'm extremely happy with my choice. When the money is there I'll add the HD cam and use my A1 as a second an my travel cam.

  • Camera for final cut pro

    Hi
I have about £2000 UK pounds to spend on a video camera for producing footage to be edited in Final Cut pro.
What is the best type of camera to get for quality and ease of importing and editing?
Not sure between tape and hard disk etc.
    Thanks

I would agree withthe poster 'G' above that it depends on what you want to do. I would certainly follow his advice.
Here's what I did and what I have no done.
    I JUST bought a brand new PANASONIC AG-HVX-200 because I want :
    * 4:2:2 colour space so i can get more out of the colour correction tools I have such as COLOR.app and coloritsa etc (HDV doesn' cut it for me at the moment). I would highly recommend this camera!.
    • I want the 720P/25 and a 1080P/25 with a codec that was not MPEG2 (such as HDV).SO I now have DVCPROHD to use and in a nutshell it is marvellous. I want the CINEA GAMMA and aother functions that I could not imagine on my HVR-Z1P (See below).
LAstly I had purchased a new SONY HVR-Z1P HDV camera 16 months ago for use as 1080i/50 for most of the work I wanted to do. I soon found the restrictions as above in the codec. I was wanted about HDV but pressed ahead.
HDV is a great format for most however I am about to put the hardly used HVR-Z1P on EBAY now that I have the PANASONIc new HVX-200, which if it is in your budget, I would highly recommends - get a 16GB P2 card ad you're set. Works flawlessly with FCP 6.
As poster 'G" points out, you can go to consumer based cameras that will work ok for you but they are restricted in the sense that you "GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR".
ALso AVCHD H.264 based cameras take a great 720P shots for the holiday trip but these are too not to my liking even though my wife has a SONY XACT HD2... which is great to pull out and spray around when you wanna gun and run.
Summary- if you know what you want to do (your goals) and you want to take advantage of FCS 2 and other tools and etc, the camera is a another piece of the toolkit but a VERY importat one. fwiw

  • What is the best kids camera for iMovie '08? Flip or, say, IXUS/Elph?

My kids love creating video clips and the old camera they use is beginning to fall apart and I'm trying to figure out what to replace it with.
USER BRIEF: The goal is simplicity and ease of use, so iMovie '08 fits the bill. Video and audio quality are of secondary importance. They do want to be able to crop their clips and string them together into a movie.
I was on the verge of buying a Pure Digital Flip camera but I've discovered a rash of threads in various forums describing problems importing Flip video files into iMovie 8. I don't really want to get my kids involved in a video conversion workflow if it can be avoided.
The other option is to buy a regular compact digital camera with a movie option. We have a Canon IXUS 70 (a SD1000 Digital Elph in the USA) that produced acceptable clips that iPhoto imports automatically. iMovie '08 trawls the iPhoto library for clips than can be used as fodder for iMovie projects. Pretty easy, I wonder if there are any drawbacks.
So, my questions are: is the Flip an attractive option in an iMovie '08 environment? Or should I give my kids a regular compact (and if so, are any of the major brands using codecs that are more or less iMovie-friendly than others)?

    Here are some known issues:
My MAC Updater downloaded the new QT 7.4.5 on 5 Apr 2008. I have been making movies in iMovie, and then posting them to YouTube. In the beginning I uploaded the movies as MOV files but soon discovered AVI files (larger file and longer time to upload) had more clarity when viewed on YouTube. Once the new QT 7.4.5 downloaded all my AVI files had picture, but no sound! I downloaded the Perian component as posted in QT discussions. The sound returned to the AVI files. However, when I Exported an AVI movie from iMovie the picture quality was worse than the MOV movie. There is something wrong with the new QT 7.4.5 when working with AVI, my AVI movies look terrible. These AVI files were all downloaded from my Ultra Flip Video camera with Flip’s codec 3vix. Flip is aware of this problem and acknowledged it last Friday. Flip says Apple is aware of the problem.
My MAC PowerPc G4 has performed well in the past two months when working with the Flip Video camera. So, at Flip Video’s suggestion I upgraded the operating system to OS 10.5 from OS 10.4.11. Flip Video says their camera works with OS 10.5. Once OS 10.5 was uploaded I soon discovered that iMovie 08 would not operate on my PowerPc G4, 1.86 MHz. The speed requirement for iMovie 08 is 1.9 GHz.
At this point of “spinning my wheels for nearly a month” with this Flip Video camera, I decided to purchase a new iMac. On May 2, 2008, I walked out of the Apple Store in Walnut Creek with the new iMac 20-inch: 2.66GHz. Now the Flip video camera should work and all my video problems solved. However, this was not to be.
When I attempted to Import Flip Video AVI and MOV files into iMovie 08 the files were “grayed out” and would not Import. None of my previous Flip Video files would Import. I tried making new Flip Video movies, they also would not Import into iMovie 08.
At another Apple Store, the tech suggested I download the previous version of iMovie HD. I did this and with hours of working through the different Export options I was able to create movies to post again on youTube. However, the picture quality of the newer iMovies has never approached the quality of my last post before QT 7.4.5 downloaded. Remember my problems started with QT 7.4.5. Well, my new iMac came with QT 7.4.1, I have not Uploaded QT 7.4.5 and won’t until Flip Video fixes this problem.
Examples of my Flip Video movies can be viewed on youTube at: sffoggydays. The last video with excellent picture quality was posted 6 Apr 2008 titled “A Day at the San Francisco Zoo, Chapter Nine, L-Taravel Ride to BART.” This video was made in iMovie and Exported before QT 7.4.5 downloaded. All the youTube Flip Videos made after 6 Apr 2008 have poor picture quality.
It is time for Flip Video camera to stop “passing the buck” to Apple. When manufactures of operating system such as Apple and Microsoft create newer and upgraded systems, it is the responsibility of the manufactures of applications to redo the programs for operating on the new systems. Here is where Flip Video is not accepting this responsibility to Mac users of their camera. The Flip Video application/codex/drivers need to be updated in order to fix the following problems:
    - No sound on AVI files in QT 7.4.5
    - No Import of AVI and MOV files in iMovie 08
    - Poor picture quality for youTube in Export of iMovie HD
I like my Flip Video camera, want to continue making movies for youTube, and recommending the camera to others. The Flip Video camera people need to fix these problems for Mac users.
I am still making Flip Video of my grandkids.

  • Need Help Determining Least Common Demoninator for Frame Rate, Codec, and Workflow

I need help determining the best timeline setting and Compressor workflow to integrate footage with varying frame rates and codecs that I'm currently upres'ing for a multi-camera concert performance destined for HD broadcast output. I'm assuming the network needs 29.97.
Thus far, I've been working with Apple ProRes Proxy files to create lo-res edits. Now, I've started the task of offlining and ingesting new, HD clips from the proxy references. The content originates from either Panasonic HVX200 or Panasonic GH1 cameras.
Looking at the material, it appears the cameras were not shooting with the same settings and, somehow, a PAL GH1 got into the mix. Some of the performances have the PAL GH1 and other do not.
Here's the breakdown of the varying sources. I got this info from the Log & Transfer columns.
    HVX Cameras
    Format: 1080p24
    Source Format: DVCPRO HD 1080i60
    Shooting Rate: 24
    Vid Rate: 29.97
    TC Format: Non-Drop
    GH1 NTSC
    Format: 1080i60
    Source Format: AVCHD 1080i60
    Shooting Rate: 30
    Video Rate: 29.97
    TC Format: Drop
    GH1 PAL
    Format: 1080i50
    Source Format: AVCHD 1080i50
    Shooting Rate: 25
    Video Rate: 25
    TC Format: Non-Drop
    ANOTHER GH1 NTSC
    Format: 1080p24
    Source Format: AVCHD 1080p24
    Shooting Rate: 24
    Video Rate: 23.98
    TC Format: Non-Drop

Call the TV station/network and get their spec sheet first. You need to know more than frame rate.
Once you have that, you can work backwards to arrive at a workflow.
As a general priniciple, you'll get a more seamless translation of format when you add frames rather than removing them. (eg 24p to 27.97 rather than 29.97 to 24p)
At least all the material starts out in the 1080 world.
Do all your conversions before you start editing. (I'd use ProRes or ProRes LT for the editing codec).
Budget a bunch of time to sync the material or figure out a quick cutting style that minimizes sync drift.
    What a nightmare.

  • Good HD camera for FCE - Sanyo? Canon? Sony?

I'm looking for a good HD camera for FCE (1920 × 1080 pixels; no tape, no HDD--just Memory).
Is anyone here using the Sanyo Xacti VPC-HD1010?
I could only find sample videos of the older HD1000 here:
    http://www.sanyo-dsc.com/products/lineup/dmx_hd1000/feature/02/index.html
Is the quality of the HD1010 better?
Or can someone recommend Canon (HF100?) or Sony?
    Thanks!

Please have a look at these cutouts of your examples:
    http://rcpt.yousendit.com/633305198/9a2d60f9d7f9fc6d3cb974cb9c10637f
During horizontal movements it doesn't look very good too. Why...?
I looked for other 1920 x 1080 sample movies on Vimeo, and most of them looked MUCH better than yours:
(I could only watch the MOVs and MP4s -- no MPGs, AVIs and WMVs -- where can I find the right plugins for QT...?)

    Apple the best

The iPad 1 can't run the newer operating systems. It'd be like trying to play a bluray disc in your 6 year old dvd player....it simply lacks the hardware to make the software run.
No suggestion about the camera, but given that Apple's attitude seems to be to focus more on the more mobile devices for photography (the iPhone and Touch cameras got features, the iPad and mini didn't), that is highly unlikely. You can tell Apple what you want, but you'd probably be money ahead to get a digital camera.
as to the photos, anything put on via iTunes has to come off via iTunes.Your main alternative would be to look for photo apps that offer file exchange that may give you more functionality.

  • Can I use an IP camera for FaceTime on my Mac mini?

I have a Mac mini running Mountain Lion and I would like to know if it is possible to use the streaming video from a wireless IP camera as the video source for FaceTime (and other video apps). If so, how?
    Thanks!

    HI,
My mistake.  I saw the Mac Mini spec and presumed you were looking for any camera and had come across Wireless IP ones.
I know of one BlueTooth one (just to keep a spin on it ).
I have heard good things about this one - but mainly from 2 years or so ago when it was new.
Actually Wireless IP ones I know next to nothing about.
One of the main issues with iChat 2 through 4 is that the Video that iChat accepts is limited to DV from the External Firewire cameras that were about  or certain USB Cameras that produce output that works with the Utility from Ecamm or the Apple Framework item that was introduced later in OS X 10.4 for the USB 2.0/UVC compliant cameras.
By Snow Leopard and iChat 5 most computers do have USB 2.0 ports and all but two of the Mac range have Internal Cameras that are in fact USB 2.0.UVC Compliant.
On the other side as it were, are Camcorders also move to USB 2.0 over Firewire.
However in many cases the output is not DV and none are UVC compliant.
The video signals from these cannot be "translated by either the iUSBCam Ecamm utility or the internal Driver from Apple.
So the main issue will be the format of the Video output from the camera for iChat or Messages.
Other apps, particularly Quicktime, are going to have less of a problem as Quicktime can handle many more formats.

  • Which cable do I need to connect my Mac Book Pro to my Panasonic PV-GS150 video camera for transferring video to iMovie?

which cable do I need to connect my Mac Book Pro to my Panasonic PV-GS150 video camera for transferring video to iMovie?

    I totally understand.
Check some things from here, I have 2 and they have been great so far.
Check here, lots of storage and reasonable prices. Also great support, you get to speak to a person
Clean off your on the G5 drive and off you go.
I suggest buying a second drive and setting it up for a back up, Time Machine or Carbon Copy Cloner, or SuperDuper (both "bootable" back up) All searchable on the web.
    http://eshop.macsales.com/search/elite+pro
You can talk to a person for REAL advice, Phone: 800.275.4576  Ask about exporting to your G5 and and exporting to your existing OSX, you may only need a small inexpensive drive for this.
Quick delivery and willing to help.
Hope this makes you back up and running :-)
Do get a back up drive, as it is not ""whether my drive will fail, as much as "when my drive fails"

  • Unclear about requirements/information for Edge vs Contract plans.

I am currently on a 8GB/70 Shared data plan with a corporate discount.  I have 4 smart phones and 2 iPads.  My total bill is $241.60 + Taxes.  Our contract on all 4 phones is now up as of 2/1/15.  I have been asking questions about switching to the edge plan.  We plan on keeping the new phones for 2 years so all we care about is total cost.
I have received completely different answers to my questions depending on who I talk to.  I think we'll save about $550 over 24 months on Edge if we switch to the 10GB/$80 plan.  Here are the questions I asked and the answers I was given.  Answer #1 is from a Verizon phone rep.  Answer #2 is from a Costco person.  We are planning on getting a 6 16GB, 6 64GB, 6+ 16GB, and 6+ 64GB.  Can someone help make clear what answer is right to each question even though they seem to always be polar opposites.
    Questions:
    1.  If I switch to edge do I have to trade in my current phones even though they are out of contract?  Answer #1: Yes you must turn in all phones to Verizon.  Answer #2: No you can keep your phones since you have already met your contract requirements.
    2.  If I pay off my phone after 24 months do I keep the $25/month discount/line?  Answer #1: When your phones are paid off your line charge will have the discount removed.  Answer #2: They won't remove the charge unless someone manually removes the discount.  They won't pay someone to go remove all those discounts on all those edge plans.
    3.  Say I only wanted to get 3 phones for now and keep one off contract could I get the edge discount on the 4th phone?  Answer #1: Never. Answer #2: Depends.  They can't do it at Costco but if I call over and over and be nice someone might add it to the 4th line for me.
    4.  Once all four edge phones are paid off and it has been 24 months do I have to turn in phones to get new edge phones? Answer #1: You must turn in phones for new phones.  Answer #2: Once you have paid off phones they are yours to keep.  The only time you have to turn in phones is if you don't pay off entire amount say 75% then you have to turn in phones to get new phones.
    5.  Are the taxes lower/line on edge because I am assuming they don't tax the payment for the phone and some of the taxes/fee are based on percentage?  I didn't get an answer on this.
In addition to the questions above can someone make sure my math is correct?
    Contract 8GB/$70/month: $70 - 8.4 discount + $40x4 + $20(ipads) = $241.60/month.  Up front costs $1028 + $140 (activation fees) from costco = $1168 total up front.
Edge 10GB/$80/month: $80 - 9.6 discount + $15x4 + $20(ipads) = $150.40/month + $124.97/month (phone payoff for 24months) = $275.37/month and no activation fees or phone upfront cost (costco pays sales tax and gives fifty per line back on first bill for each phone).
That means we are paying 34.37 extra a month for 24 months = 824.88 instead of the 1168 upfront fees which is about 300 cheaper.  That is if we don't have any tax savings and doesn't include the 200 credit for edge with Costco.
Anything I am missing I am just trying to understand what the gotchas are and if there are any downsides to Edge that I don't know about since I am not getting straight answers.

thank you Snn5 and ummgood I am sorry.. the only question I failed to answer was .. at the end of the 2 yrs with a EDGE device ,, if you chose NOT to EDGE UP ..meaning turn in the device your purchased and upgrade to continue on the plan.. If you don't wish to Edge Up you must  pay off the remaining balance of your Verizon Edge device, either in full or according to the scheduled monthly installments. After your Edge device is paid off, you can purchase a new device under a 2-year service agreement. this is listed in the link I attached for you... and was the reason I stated above the review the link.
the EDGE is just a feature that helps customers upgrade their device by allowing them to make installment payments ,,, giving them a slight discount on the access line to help ease the normal cost...they are given 2 yrs to satisfy their agreement,,, at the end of the period or anytime during they have the option to EDGE UP ,, which allows them to change out the device by trading in the original EDGE device for a new one and starting the cycle all over..
so to break this down per your questions
#1 no you do not have to turn over any existing equipment you already have/had prior to the edge program
#2 the device you purchase in order to be placed on the EDGE pkg  must be paid off within the 2 yr time frame and the payments are broken down by Verizon and this is WHAT is the determining factor of what the EDGE plan will cost you before the line access charge and data charge is included
#3 the number of devices under the EDGE pkg is ten.. you must have at least 1 that is a new device  that you will be making payments on and the number of NEW devices you may have is determined by VERIZON but no more than 10 new total.. as it is the payments against the new device that qualifies the program
#4 yes any EDGE device (devices that were originally purchased in order to get the EDGE pkg) must be turned in to EDGE Up... whether paid up or with at least 75% paid off.. IF you do not wish to EDGE UP after the 2 yr time frame.. you may purchase NEW devices and go back under that standard plans Verizon has to offer...
#5 No company can lower sales tax,, the installments are configured against total cost.. which would be the device(s) taxes and any other surcharges
the last part.. the cost.. you are listing an up front cost .. I would check with VERIZON to see how much you qualify to do under installments,, as COSTCO can not do that,,the price they are quoting actual cost of them selling the devices...
so the EDGE is designed the allow payment installments,, that part no one here can estimate the monthly cost as we do not have access to your data nor can we set a total amount for Verizon to allow installments on.. that is why you need to contact them directly ... EDGE  cost of monthly installment (according to amnt Verizon can set for you divided into payments) plus for every SMARTPHONE device you purchased you receive $15.00 off their line fee if you include at data plan that is at least 500mb to 8 GB and $25.00 per smartphone off line fee for data plans 10 GB or higher  YOUR activation fee is waived for device purchased under the Edge plan...
THAN you can save even more by adding a calling plan,, like the  MORE EVERYTHING plan which has the unlimited talk, text, hotspot/wifi, the data plan can be shared instead of a separate plan per phone . international message, the Cloud storage plan ..etc.. without know exactly what your devices are and how much Verizon will allow your acct to do under installments,, the total monthly NO ONE here is able to answer.. .but the monthly on the MORE EVERYTHING is $140 plus the discounted line fee per device.. the link will advise the devices allowed and the amount of each line fee
The MORE Everything Plan FAQs | Verizon Wireless
and placing the order through Verizon you will get $150 credit applied for EACH qualifying Smartphone you purchase under the EDGE plan...
again I apologize for not fully breaking it down this way as all of this is broken down in the original link I gave.. and if I have missed any thing,,, please,, let me know and I will be happy to go over it with you..

  • Need Suggestion: buy ThinkPad Edge E540 or wait for Edge E550?

    Hello Everyone,
I need suggestion what to do: buy ThinkPad Edge E54020C6003AGE (i7 4702MQ & GF 740M 2GB) or wait for Edge E550?
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Lenovo-ThinkPad-Edge-E540-20C6003AGE-Notebook.114194.0.html in Germany is price about 830 Euros
I use ThinkPads in last 10 years for study and gaming (R60, SL510, Edge 520) and wish sell my Edge E520 replace it with new one due stuck with old Radeon 6630M drivers (I cannot use a new AMD drivers when I try I getting mostly BOSD errors and latest Official Lenovo driver is from 2012) second reason is that E520 fan cannot be accessed & cleaned on easy way.
In which month Lenovo mostly release new Edges, What is your option are Broadwell CPU + GeForce 840/940M in Edges worth to wait?
In future I try to avoid AMD GPU due poor drivers support.
I know that there is much better notebooks for gaming but I like ThinkPads

To support it the model you're buying should be equiped with the :
    Intel® Dual Band Wireless-N 7260
    Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260
Wireless network adapters and core i5/i7 cpu's . But careful, not all E540s come with the intel wireless card
Just check this and you're good to go.

  • I use my camera for video and photos.  When I download my videos to my ipad1 using the camera connection kit, they will not play on my ipad. Is there a way I can get them to play?

I use my camera for video and photos.  When I download my videos to my ipad1 using the camera connection kit, they will not play.
Does anyone know how I can make this work?

    Yvonne-
I haven't tried videos on my camera yet.  Do you use the Videos App to play them?  I don't think they will play in the Photos App.
If yours are in a format that is not in Vazandrew's list, you may need to sync them to your computer and convert them to M4V or MP4 format.  You can use a program like HandBrake to do the conversion.  <HandBrake>  Once converted, you can sync them back to the iPad and they should play.
This may not meet your needs, but the alternative appears to be getting a different camera.  I don't know of another Video App that might work.
