As you can tell from the video, the camera freezes after a few seconds. So far it seems to only be the rear facing part. Also it seems to do it on other apps as well.

Have you tried the basics from the manual?
restart.
reset.
restore.

Camera Glitching Problem? Help!

I'm fairly new to AE and watched a tutorial on making a nebula thingy. I made it fine and have had no trouble, but for the last 2 days i have spent trying to fix my camera glitching problem. I have to keyframes for my camera, obviousl ythe start and the finish keyframe. But in the keyframes, my nebula thing, keeps glitching back to previous frames. Im not really good at discribing it, so i just screen recorded it so you could see. I have checked countless times to make sure there is no keyframes on anything else, there isn't. I lookoed it up, some say it could be the "boomerang effect" I tried to chhange the keyframes to linear keyframes (as they are at the time of the screen recording), obviously still glitching. I also tried to change the keyframes to "hold keyframes" as another suggested solution, i still get random glitching. So as a final solution, here i am. Not sure if you need to know the stats of my computer, but if you do here they are (iMac late 2012/early 2013, 3.7 Ghz, i7, 8gb of ram, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB). I have also exported the project to a mov file, the glitches are still there. Also, it is supposed to stop abruptly like that at the end.

Also, im using After Effects CS6, Knoll lIght Factory, Trapcode Particular and Trapcode Shine.

Turn off GPU mode in Knoll and/or in AE by setting the comp viewer to Final Quality. that's some sort of buffer curruption, most likely hardware related... also make sure you are not having other programs running. Even a simple notification pop-up from a messenger can cause such strange artifacts because it temporarily takes the reigns...

IPod Touch 4G Camera Glitch

I'm finding it kind of weird how my ipod touch 4g (ios 5.0.1) camera's glitching. By simply touching the Camera app it starts up and as soon as the camera lense animation launches, I get a black screen. I cant switch cameras or take pics, you switch modes. But I did notice the bottom right screen where the slider between video and picture is jittery. It would flash alittle beside the camera icon and do nothing. I've tried resetting everything and restoring it, but I think its a hardware problem. Only thing thats funny is that when I enter facetime, the front camera works just fine, but when I switch to the rear camera, facetime freezes and disconnects the call. Any help? please and thank you.

To rule out a software problem try the following:
- Reset. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Retore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

IPhone 5 Camera Glitch

Although the issue is intermittent, I am experiencing this when using the back side camera. It doesn't happen on the front facing camera.
While using the camera app, or even 3rd party apps like instagram or camera+, the camera will turn purple and will hang after a while, then the camera app will restart.
Is this a hardware issue, should i return the phone? or should I just wait for the next iOS update?

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

IPad 2 camera glitch

The front camera on my iPad works perfectly but when I try to switch it to the rear camera the camera application itself and the photo booth both freeze up and I have to restart my iPad?

What firmware do you have?? I have the same issue and I have restored and nothing happens ..

Hello, I have the 4th gen iPod touch with the latest software, 5.0.1. It was running fine after the newest update, it was just a few weeks ago that it started acting up.
Occasionally, the camera app will show a black screen... just a black screen. I try touching the screen and nothing happens.
Another problem I have is when I go to music, and I click on the 'more' tab, and click a category that's empty (like audio books), it will take me to a black screen: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/823/blackscreenl.jpg/ When I tap one of the tabs, it will go back to normal, but when I try going back to audio books, instead of a black screen, it will just have a blank list: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/32/blanklist.gif/ . And sometimes one of the categories, or an icon or both will dissapear: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/43/nopodcast.jpg/. All these glitches seem to be fixed temporarily through turning the iPod off, but they often come back later on.. but the camera glitch happens less often than the others.
The only other thing is that I don't have the lastest itunes update... I'm wondering if that could be a possibility, or if I downloaded an app that might have corrupted my ipod... Anyway, although they aren't too much of a problem, it does become a bit frustrating. Thank you in advance!

Shutter Glitch

Bought the thing not 2 days ago and this issue comes up. I actually have nothing to say other than I've already had a crappy time with apple tech support, I'm not paying them a dime if they want to charge me for this, as I've already forked over 100 before for having to just send my last one IN to even see if it would BE replaced, and of course they didn't replace it and the 100 is nonrefundable. so I'm pretty miffed. pretty miffed indeed.
my problem isn't with the fact that this has happened, but the fact that it's happened freaking 2 days after I bought it, and there is apparently no fix yet asside from waiting for them to ship me a new one (let alone the $$ that would entail because godforbid apple isn't given money for mistakes THEY made) that might in fact have the exact same problem.
anyone know ANY way I can fix this?

Step one is to log into a newly created admin user account and see if the problem persists.

AVCHD Log and Transfer Tip

Everyone may already know this but, while testing my new camera, I was delighted to discover how to speed up the ingestion process: first copy the AVCHD folder from the media volume to the desktop and then point your L&T Browser to that folder, not the media volume. Before doing this it was stalling and I was having to "retry" too many times before the transcoding completed. Actually it's still slow and CPU intensive but at least now it's a continuous process. Hmmm, of course the stoppages could have been the result of memory card or the camera glitch...

Good tip - I usually copy my raw media to a hard drive to live, then import into FCP as needed... That way I can always keep an empty card.

Why am I not receiving or able to send media texts?

My data is on and I have 188/200 MB left.
I am connected to WiFi.
Airplane mode is not on.
No services are blocked on my phone.
Media Text service was working just fine before factory reset.
When I made a factory reset on my phone (fixing my camera, glitches, and my non-responsive alarms, this was the best option), I was able to send and receive pictures in my texts. It's now been two weeks and my ticket hasn't been answered, nor has the problem fixed itself. I've tried many solutions, and resorted to asking people on the internet, all of them not helping me one bit. I'm tired of paying for a service I'm not receiving... help me out, please.
I've tried turning it off and on again.
I've turned data off then back on.
I've removed SIM card and re-inserted it.
I've had a representative do work on their end.

GLITCH WITH CAMERA!!!

Ok so i was playing around with the camera last night and i stumbled upon a glitch. If you take 2 pictures in a row, it will only register one photo in the photo album. Try it out for yourself. You have to take them both without changing over to the photoalbum. Then once you select the album there are thumbnails for both pictures. But click on a picture and try and go right or left in the slideshow and its the same pic twice. Where did the other one go? It only works with 2 pics in a row, not one or three even. This should have been caught by the testers...cmon we already need an update apple!

I tried it again today and it did the same thing. You have to take 2 pics in a row then go to the album, click on an image, then touch the arrow (right or left) to do it. You cannot slide your finder to go to the next pic.

Camera Raw Filter glitch

running PS CC 2014 on Mac with Yosemite and am getting an annoying glitch when I access Filter > Camera Raw Filter
The only way to show all items in the filter is to roll over it with the cursor.
This doesn't happen all the time, just enough to be a pain in the ...

Thanks for the reply - the problem isn't with ACR itself but the new Camera Raw filter available in photoshop CC 2014 in the filters selection, this doesn't seem to include the workflow options that you get at the bottom of the normal ACR window- it's a really handy filter for quick final adjustments but on my Macbook keeps adding sharpening even when the sliders are at zero. Is there a workflow option menu for this filter ? Something strange going on somewhere- thanks again for the reply , Tom

Adobe CS 5.5 Camera Depth of Field Glitch

I am getting a strange glitch in the After Effects CS 5.5 Camera. I've isolated it to depth of field effects. I have keyframed the aperture and focus distance at several points. It was working fine, then after 1 last keyframe, I started to get what looks like and intersecting 3d layer and small white pixels appearing randomly throughout the image when I play back the file. The issue seems to be limited to this comp, I have several other comps with animated depth of field in the same project, no issue. I have tried disabling Open GL, purging video and memory cache, changing depth of field settings, reloading the background plate, etc. with no luck. I can make the issue go away by disabling depth of field on the camera....Any suggestions? I just did an hour of work keyframing the focus and it's sort of essential to the shot....

I never use Open GL to render, only to preview. What's interesting is when I turned off motion blur, the glitch when away in the RAM preview, but turned up again in the render, even with the motion blur turned off. When I turned off the global Open GL setting, the glitch went away in the render. There seems to be some major Open GL bugs with 10.6.8. Video Copilot's Optical Flares is having a major glitch that they admitted to me. You have to turn off "use CPU" or it bogs the whole machine down and even causes crashes in render intense comps.

CS3:kodak EasyShare C643 camera mov file glitches

the files are .mov files, 640wide x 480tall, 29frames per second, Data Rate: 8881 kbps, Total BitRate: 9061 kbps , AUDIO: 180 kbps, 22khz, 1 channel mono. The files play pretty decent and I can do basic transitions with very little glitches- but when I tried to make a section play in reverse it glitched real bad and the picture gets blurry and pixelated. I've read that I should set up the project as close as possible to the resolution of the footage Im using- Im not sure why premiere doesnt automatically detect the best settings and ask me if I want the project to be set to it- seems like a very basic concept- or when setting up the project and option to "analyze media file and make automatic settings"- I guess Im lazy- my bad. I've also read there is a plug in I can download- has anyone dealt with this and got these files to work and edit properly in Premiere Pro CS3?

I agree with you that things are kinda confusing re: video and audio editing when first learning about it....so its kinda important to do some reading and studying to get the fundamental stuff figured out. There are good resources for learning on the internet ( you can google most phrases and words to get definitions and explanations ) and in books...and also by searching these forums using the "search" text box....
I personally am still learning about a lot of this stuff and I think I spent almost 8 months - at least 8 hours / day ---just to get the basics down...
MOST of my learning came from this forum and some portion from google..and of course the HELP files from the program....which I printed out on paper and put into a notebook ( reading those pages as I did that helped a lot ).
So, bottom line...you are not going to figure this out without some studying , reading, etc.
That said, there are more easy editing programs around that might do what you want QUICKLY ( without much studying etc involved ) like "Windows Movie Maker" and so on... Just mentioning that in case you feel overwhelmed and need to get your project edited quickly...
As Bill Hunt said, CS5 has the function to create projects by just dragging your video into an icon ( create new project or something like that )...and the program automatically "sees" what the video is made up of and creates the project for you ! Very cool !
If you can't do that then basically what you want to do is match your project settings to the video specs. You can use gspot or mediainfo ( tree view ) to see what your video specs are....and then make those exact settings for new project....
as far as your questions re: pixel aspect ratio, bit rates, safe area ( frame ) and so on...you really need to read the help files and maybe google some of that...as its impossible for someone to go over all that in a thread like this and do it justice...
maybe someone else here will have some links to reference materials and so on..

Hi there,
You're running an old version of Safari. Before troubleshooting, try updating it to the latest version: 6.0. You can do this by clicking the Apple logo in the top left, then clicking Software update.
You can also update to the latest version of OS X, 10.8 Mountain Lion, from the Mac App Store for $19.99, which will automatically install Safari 6 as well, but this isn't essential, only reccomended.
