Camera Icon Gone!

I was managing my applications, I remove all Icon on the quick acces area or dock as they call it. When I put again the icon of camera in the dock, its disappered. Then I received a notification "array_insert invalid array index". Please help. I want my Camera Icon back!
Take Note that everytime I drag an icon to the dock area, it disappeared and I receives a notification again about array invalid.

Solved!
Go to Solution.

You have to move ALL the icons there before restarting.
If the icon was lost because of  emptying out the quick launch bar then the workaround will bring the lost icons back.  Blackberry call it a workaround because they have not had the resources (or intention) to fix the original bug where they didn't code the correct array processing.
It has worked on 1526 in previous posts.
if you lost the icon some other way it may not come back, however the camera icon is a fixed icon and can't normally be deleted any other way.
Always be prepared to wipe the playbook, one day it will be necessary.

  • Need help!!My camera icon is gone!!

    Hello. I recently bought iphone3GS.
My 2 year old was playing with it one day and now I see that my camera icon is gone!! I searched for "camera" but no result.
How do I get it back so I can use the camera function??
I am a newbie so detailed help will be very much appreciated ^^
    Please help~~

Are you sure your 2 year old didn't accidentally "slide" your camera icon to a different page? The "canned' icons that came with the IP can NOT be deleted (at least normally). However, if they are pushed for a moment, they start to giggle and then a swipe will move an icon to the next page. You can move them back the same way.

You are talking to fellow users on these forums, not iTunes Support or Apple - I've asked the hosts to remove your phone number from your post.
For the Camera app, try closing it via the taskbar and see if it works when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Camera app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar at the bottom of the iPad's screen, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Camera app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't fix it then try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
In terms of syncing, you will need iTunes on your computer - if you haven't already downloaded it then you can do so from here : http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
You can conncet the iPad to your computer and select it on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (you can enable the sidebar on iTunes 11 on a PC via control-S), and use the tabs on the right-hand side of the iTunes screen to sycn your content to the iPad.

If you haven't yet synced your iPad to your computer you may also find this page useful : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141
For the excel file, what app are you viewing/editing it in ? If the values are different then it may be that the app that you are using doesn't support all the formulas that are being used in the spreadsheet. Apps that 'support' excel documents include Apple's Numbers app, and from third-parties apps such as Documents To Go ('premium' version) and QuickOffice Pro HD.

  • Camera Icon Missing. Search says Volume  is missing.

Luckily, I've been problem free for quite a while, so hope I'm in the right discussion group. (Please re-direct me if I'm not.)
My Minolta Dimage XI Camera (now owned by Sony) requires ejecting of the camera icon before shutting the camera. My iMac was working fine yesterday, but must have had too much going on simultaneously, because it froze and I had it restart in the middle of a photo project. Lost all the unsaved images, but was able to recapture them;actually opened automatically when I went to 'Open File.") But when I tried to turn off the camera in order to retake some shots in another room, the camera icon was missing. Manual says turning it off without ejecting can damage the camera, but sometimes a girl's gotta' do what she's gotta' do, and in the past I've ignored that instruction and been lucky. But also know I need to correct the problem.
After spending 2 hours online unsuccessfully with a Minolta rep in Manilla, he finally advised me to contact Apple with the following info: (1) I'm able to acccess existing photos in the camera via Photoshop, so connection between camera and iMac is OK and computer recognizes the photos. (2) Search for "Minolta" led to what looked like the icon, but clicking on it reported that it was an alias and "volume" as missing. (3) Have already manually searched every folder but there's no sign of the either the volume or the icon. (4) With help of Minolta technician tried to reset the camera settings, but they were OK and did not need resetting.(5) Reinitializing did to restore preferences did not help either.
The only thing I have not tried yet (because most of the day was spent looking for the icon) was Disk First Aid. If there's any chance it can restore a missing "volume" I will try it. Any other suggestions or advice will be much appreciated. I'd hate to lose the camera or destroy all the photos on it if I can avoid it. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

You may have to go through the process of re-installing
the camera's software into the computer and hope the
files you have moved, or ones that have gone missing,
will return and work later on if the camera software gets
a fresh install into the system.
You have to "unmount" the equivalent of a disk from the
    computer's desktop, prior to unplugging the physical item;
or there could be file damages to the data within it. By not
doing so, the files have been damaged. You can unmount
a disk icon or memory card icon by Eject, or drag/drop/Trash.
Same thing if you have an external hard disk drive attached.
{One of my cameras is a Nikon DSLR and I can remove
the card if desired and use a card reader, but usually I
don't do that; and instead just turn on the camera. The
other camera I have is a Panasonic Lumix (early FZ-1)
& while I also have a card reader for that, I don't use it.
Since the batteries (three per camera) need cycling and
    recharging at some point anyway, I seldom use a reader.}
Usually, if the computer is accidentally turned off and a
peripheral item such as a camera or external hard disk
drive is left attached but not unmounted, the process of
just turning back on the computer (and do NOT unplug
the peripheral item) will let the Mac find that item again
and it will work correctly, when the Mac reboots. And a
sleeping Mac should not matter, just do not unplug the
camera connections while it is asleep; it should be seen
again normally when the computer awakens.
    Some cameras with a +wireless connection+ to a computer
would lose the connection when either the camera or
computer were turned off without un-mounting the icon
or the representative file of the camera from the desktop.
Using Eject, or drag/drop icon on to Trash, is the path.
You may not have to un-install the existing camera software
    from the computer in order to re-install the same items again;
in some cases, since the OS X may have a few of the same
series drivers already installed, (plug n play works fine for me)
you'd only defeat the existing compatibility if one removed that.
I'm not sure how you could restore the camera's representative
icon, but if the software in the camera were damaged where it
is stored (not in the camera memory card you could remove)
the item may be stored in the camera's Firmware. It may be
possible to restore the camera's firmware, if that is the case.
This is an item the manufacturer or their representative may be
able to answer questions about: If the missing icon is something
that could be due to damaged firmware, or not. And if so, how to
restore it. Even a good camera shop (repair shop) may have a
few answers, especially if they happen to also use Mac computers.
Anyway, the link to get a free image restore utility is still a good
thing. Even if you don't need it to resolve this issue, today. It is
also capable of restoring some other data files, btw.
The damaged file in software could be in the installed camera
drivers in the computer, and there may also be some damage
or corrupted files in the camera itself. Whether or not those are
in the camera's memory card or on some ROM chip inside the
camera (such as Firmware would likely be) is another matter.
If you have a CD for the camera and it has Mac OS X driver
software for the camera on it, you could try re-installing it.
Or, you could look to the manufacturer's web site for newer
camera driver software and download that; then install it.
Be sure it does not supersede your Mac's OS requirement.
    A 'most new driver' would be for Leopard or Snow Leopard;
and your old Tiger probably would be unhappy with that.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • I can't find my camera icon

Last night my iPhone updated to iOS 7.0.5 and after it restarted a few of my apps had gone, Including the camera icon which is gone off the toolbar as well. How do i get it back?

Try a search for Camera. See if it has been moved to a folder. If not, then try a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. If that does not help, then make a backup of the device and restore from backup. If that fails, then make sure all of your data is synced or imported and restore the device as new, not from a backup. If that does not restore the camera, then you need to make an appointment at the Genius Bar or Authorized Apple Service Provider to have the hardware checked.

Help please? Else I have no more camera functon for my phone and that is competely sad!
BTW I'm on 3gs...have restored, have reset, have done everything else!

You can already forget my first message, I finally found the solution :
You need to go in Genereal - Settings - Restrictions,
and authorize the camera (and others as well, like youtube which disappeared for me too)
Hope it works for you too !

  • My camera icon disappered

my camera icon is gone i can no longer take pictures  ive done everything help

There are several possibilities, since the camera can NOT be deleted:
    1) It got moved to another page or into a folder.  Look around. If you can't find it, try Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.
    2) It's been disabled in Restrictions. Settings>General>Restrictions. Check for Camera=ON
    3) If you've set up a corporate Exchange account, the administrators can enforce policies banning the use of cameras. If that's the case, the only choices are remove the Exchange account from your phone or appeal to your IT department to change the policy.
    4) The camera has failed.

  • Camera icon missing

I just updated my iPhone 3G to 3.0.1 & upgraded my service provider settings.
The phone rebooted after a successful install. However; since then my camera icon has gone missing and I cannot take any pictures.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks a lot, in advance.

This is a solution I received from a friend of mine for the Exchange mail issue; however, perhaps it would work for others.
In his case, his camera icon would disappear and none of the standard solutions would work. He would restore the camera back to when he had the icon, but the moment he set up his Exchange mail, it would disappear.
What he tried was turning SSL off, reboot the phone, and the icon came back! He turned SSL back on so now he has both the camera icon and Exchange mail.
I don't know about other mail programs/servers, but if they have policies like Exchange, perhaps you can try turning the SSL off to see if you get the icon back. If this does work, I suspect the icon may go away again whenever IT updates the mail policies and pushes a policy back out to the phone.
    Hope this helps.

  • I have lost my camera icon and my app store icon.  I have tried to reset and even tried to restore factory settings...no luck.  Restrictions have been turned on, but I do not have the passcode.  Any suggestions??

I have lost my camera icon and my app store icon.  I have tried to reset the iPod and even tried to restore factory settings....no luck.  Restrictions seems to have been set, but I do not have a pass code.  Any suggestions???

I have gone through the router reset for home network, Router reset at work. Restarted my personal hotspot on my iPhone that is running the same IOS.
I have performed the Network settings reset on the iPad.
I have performed a hard reboot on the iPad, (Home button and power button until logo appears)
Also I had to update the Apple driver on my laptop for iTunes to see my iPad after I had updated iTunes, I'm not sure if I lost wifi after I updated the iPad IOS or updating iTunes.

  • I accidentally deleted the "camera icon" on my iphone, is there anyway to get it back without resetting the whole thing?

Yeah, I just got the iphone on friday so I'm going to be one of those people..
I was holding the phone while I was helping my sister get the dogs settled in the car and I must have been pressing onto the camera icon and  I didn't even realise it until I looked down after a few minutes and the icon was gone. I was just hoping someone could help me out with that. Please and thank you.
    Kellie

Go to settings, general - restrictions - camera....make sure it is turned on.  I did the same thing with my camera icon and this step fixed it.

  • Home screen camera icon

Yesterday I opened my iPhone and saw a camera icon on the home screen. I remembered that when IOS5 was introduced one of the new features was the ability to access the camera instantly from the home screen without going to the camera function on the phone.  Now the camera icon on my home screen is gone.  Any ideas what has happened to it?

You have to double click the home button for the camera icon to appear on the lock screen.
