  • Is there a way to have photos apper with most recent first on the camera ios 8' iphone 6

IS there a way to set my photos in ascending order rather than decending in my camera? I want the most recent first. Ios 8 iphone 6

I just noticed this tonight! I'm kicking myself for updating iTunes! I have well over 30.000 photos and now they are all out of order.
I upgraded to 10.6.3.25 and all the photos are sorted by date now and none of the sub-folders are recognized.
This has happened before and it took them over a year to fix it. I wish they would give us a preference as to how we want our images displayed. The whole photo cache thing is so ridiculous! Mine is up to 11GB right now.

Connect the iPhone to an USB port and import the photos from the Camera Roll like you would import the photos from any other camera.

  • HT4101 I have a NIKON COOLPIX P500 but am unable to download photos through the IPad camera connection kit. I have tried to use the Sandisk card also - no result. Any suggestions? The Ipad does not "see" the card or camera?

I have a Nikon Coolpix P500 but am unable to download photos from it to my iPad2 via the iPad Camera Connection kit. The iPad does not see either the Sandisk 8GB card or the Nikon camera. I have turned the camera on, but it seems that the camera just want to recharge its battery through the iPad as the iPad states that the devices draws too much power?? Anybodu solved this problem yet? Advise please?

One thing to check is the format that the camera is saving pics to the card in. Many are selectable and, in most cases, if PTP is one of the options then you need to have that one selected for the files to be visible to iOS and the CCK (connection kit).
Another thing which sometimes comes up, especially with older cameras and therefore probably not with yours, is the filenaming conventions used by the camera. iOS is quite strict about what it expects to see and if files are being stored with unsupported name formats then they simply won't be seen at all.

  • Conversion of large RAW images broken in iOS 7?

Under iOS 6, I was able to use the camera connection kit to import 36 MP RAW (.NEF) images from my Nikon D800 to my iPad 2, and then open them in Snapseed for quick edits while on the road.  Along came iOS 7 and Snapseed crashes trying to open these files, even after a couple of app updates. (Nik Software, makers of Snapseed, has not offered any info other than "they will see if they can reproduce this").
I've since tried Filterstorn Neue (which also supports RAW images) and it too crashes when opening these large RAW files.
After importing a smaller, 6 MP RAW .NEF image to the iPad (via Dropbox) I was able to open it fine with both Snapseed and Filterstorm Neue.
My question: is anyone else having this issue with large RAW images under iOS 7, and have any work-arounds been found?  I'm beginning to suspect that the RAW conversion service of iOS 7 is choking on these images (as opposed to a fault with the photo editting apps themselves), or there is a memory allocation issue.
Note, I have been successful opening these RAW images with PhotoRaw Lite, but it uses it's own conversion routines, I believe, as well as virtual memory to handle large files.

Further digging leads me to believe that the issue is that iOS 7 uses more RAM, and on the iPad 2, this doens't leave quite enough memory to open these 36MP RAW images.
If I close all background apps, I have been able to get Filterstorm Neue to open and edit these RAW images, while having any app still running in the background will cause a crash. No such luck with Snapseed as I'm guessing it uses a bit more memory than Filterstorm. This would account for why PhotoRaw can open and edit these files -  it uses a virtual memory approach to load large files.
So unless iOS 7 becomes better optimised for RAM usage, or these apps are updated to use virtual memory, looks like I'm limited in which apps can open 36MP RAW images on an iPad 2.  Wonder if a newer retina iPad would manage? They have more RAM I believe, but probably need more to run the display...

  • No sound on videos after the last update before iOS 5

    Hi people,
Iam having the same problem as many iphone 4 users...when iam shooting video there is no sound unless i put on the earphones...the difference is that it used to shoot videos with sound normaly but after i updated to iOS 4.3.5 it stopped recording sound...i have videos with sound that i shot and its kind of wierd....i thought it was the update and i waited until the next one...which came iOS 5 but there is bug fix or something and i that some people refer to this as a hardware problem and not software so i would like to know if anyone has a clue about and any possible solution.

    Hey,
Advice you gave me sorted the problem transiently, but now I have sound on all programs, which is good! But now my user interface sounds (i.e. emptying trash) don't play! It's not that big of a problem but just slightly annoying!
I don't fancy spending another £5 on the phone to the useless shower of s* at apple technical support.
    Regards,

  • IPad 2 unusable with iOS 8.x

    Hello Apple,
until a short time ago, my IPad 2 was working fine and fast.
Then came iOS 8 and now iOS 8.1.
I can not believe that these OS have been approved for an IPad2 - it has become so slow, it is not fun to use anymore, even frustrating!
Since there are a lot of people complaining and none of the magic tricks like resetting or doing a factory reset really work, would you please allow downgrading again?
    THANK YOU APPLE!

My iPad2 works great now after IOS 8.1 Update
This might be a reason why so many iPads won't Update right.
While the iOS 8.1 just consumes around 90MB of space, you need at least 5GB of free space to initiate the download."
Go to Settings, General, Storage, Manage Storage and you will see how much space each App uses.
I did my iPad2 16GB update thru iTunes on my iMac with 8GB of memory and it was sucking the iMacs memory very low during the update. Safari froze before loading the first web page and I did a hard boot and went fishing as I saw where it was going to take a long time to recover. When I tried again it wasn't quite right and then did one more hard boot and then did a Reset by going to General-Reset-"Reset all Settings" and it works real well now without loosing any data and in-home wi-fi clocks at 17Mbps download. Probably like most of you I’m sticking with OSX 10.9.5 Mavericks as it gets the job done very nicely and don’t need all that extra fancy stuff that probably will slow things down.

Hi there, I need some help to sort out my iphone.  I tried to back it up a few days ago and wanted to send all my photos from my iphone to my laptop.  I downloaded the latest updated version of iTunes, which took about 2 hours as my laptop kept restarting. I then connected my iphone to my laptop and it was syncing away, and I think i hit Import Photos in the iTunes toolbar, thinking that would take my photos off my iphone and save them to my laptop, well it did the exact oposite and I have been too scared to try it again. I want to back up my photos before I update to the new IOS7 software as the last time I updated, it DELETED everything off my phone.  Can anyone out there help me please???

  • My Pro is in the repair shop and I need to back up iPhone as it's developed a fault. How do I do it on old laptop so I keep all the photos

so I have a phone that needs urgent back up as I really want to keep the content.  It's been a month since last back-up and there are photos/videos of the kids I want to keep.  the machine I usually back-up to has a problem with the graphics card and is with Apple and then my Iphone 3GS started playing up.  Took  that in and Apple said they need to replace the whole unit.  I need to back up my phone to an old laptop that I have just installed iTunes to.  I did the right click on the iPhone in iTunes and selected back-up and this took about 10 mins.  My question is that if I get my replacement device and hook up to the laptop and restore from back-up will all my pics and apps be there? (not worried about music as have that all in library on my pro)  Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks Felicity

You should be importing all pics taken with the iphone to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera.

Get Genius and iTunes Match to live together in harmony
by Dan Moren, Lex Friedman, Macworld.com   Mar 16, 2012 5:54 pm
In a welcome move, Apple’s iOS 5.1 update included, among other features, the return of Genius Mixes and Genius Playlist for subscribers to iTunes Match. At least, in theory. Initially, we—and many others, if Apple’s support discussions are any indication—found that the Genius features either didn’t work or didn’t even appear on our iOS devices after installing the 5.1 upgrade.

The Genius icon vanished for iTunes Match customers. But with iOS 5.1—and possibly a little elbow grease—you can now get it back.
Genius, which builds a playlist full of songs that you are likely in the mood to hear based on the initial song you select, and Genius Mixes, which algorithmically assemble mixes of your music based on Apple-identified commonalities, would at first glance seem to be perfect companions to Apple’s $25-per-year service for storing your music in iCloud. But, when iTunes Match first launched, customers discovered that enabling it on their iOS devices caused the two Genius options to vanish.
Then along came iOS 5.1, whose release notes stated (in part) that the update included “Genius Mixes and Genius playlists for iTunes Match subscribers.” iTunes Match subscribers the world over—or at least the two of us—rushed to install the update for that feature alone. But, that update didn’t immediately deliver on its promise. For one thing, Genius Mixes, which used to occupy a space on the toolbar in the iPhone’s Music app, were nowhere to be found.
Initially, this error was all that the Genius icon could make happen on iOS 5.1 for iTunes Match customers.
For another, many users noticed that when they tapped the Genius icon to create a playlist based on the currently playing song, the Music app would only report that the track “does not have enough related songs,” even in cases where those users had hundred or thousands of songs in their libraries—and even when those same songs successfully generated Genius playlists in iTunes on a Mac. In other cases, tapping the newly-returned Genius icon would merely cause it flash white ever so briefly, but not to create a playlist. We both found that tapping the useless icon on our iPads repeatedly could crash the Music app pretty consistently, to boot. (That did little to lessen our annoyance.)
We suspect the issue may have had something to do with Apple’s servers for Match and/or Genius as opposed to the iOS itself. As of this writing, the Genius playlist and Genius Mixes features appear to once again be working correctly for both of us, although we needed to leverage a carefully implemented, scientifically sound fix first—one that didn’t work before Friday. That fix?
We turned iTunes Match off and then on again on our iOS devices a few times.
That maneuver is a pretty standard one in the world of iTunes Match issue debugging, but given that it didn’t work before Friday, we strongly suspect that Apple actually corrected something on its end to get the promised Genius functionality working again. And some Macworld staffers have since found that they now see Genius working properly on their iTunes Match-using iOS devices without going through the fix, so it’s possible that Apple coincidentally fixed what ailed the feature literally as we were writing this piece. If you use iTunes Match and still don’t see the Genius options, here are the steps to follow:
The iTunes Match toggle in Settings -> Music.
To turn iTunes Match off, visit the Settings app and tap on Music. There, slide the iTunes Match slider to the Off position. (While you’re there, note with mild intrigue that iTunes Match now has its own Use Cellular Data option, which toggles whether iTunes Match can download music when only a cellular network is available. It’s totally independent from the Use Cellular Data option for iTunes in the Cloud, which controls whether your purchases of Music, Apps, and Books made elsewhere are automatically downloaded to this iOS device.) As an added precaution, switch to the Music app, and wait for all your iTunes Match-sourced playlists to vanish. Once they have, return to Settings -> Music, and turn iTunes Match back on.
The off-again, on-again Genius Mixes icon.
Now, hop back over to Music once more, and try out the two Genius features. Does the Genius icon successfully trigger the creation of a Genius playlist? Do you see the Genius Mixes option? (If you’re not sure where to look for that one: It’s under the More tab on the iPhone; on the iPad, Genius Mixes appear first under the Playlists tab.) If both Genius features are working, your work—and ours—is done.
If not, repeat the steps outlined above once more—turn iTunes Match off, wait till the Music app is empty, and then turn iTunes Match on again. (You can skip the noting with mild intrigue step on this and any successive run-throughs.) In our experience, it took a handful of tries for the features to finally show up and, in some cases, it can be helpful to force quit the Music app. To do so, double click the device’s Home button, tap and hold on the Music app in the multitasking bar, then tap the red minus icon that appears in the top left corner so the icon disappears.
Macworld spoke to Apple about the Genius-related iTunes Match users early in the week, and the company indicated that it was investigating our report. At this time, we haven’t gotten official word from Cupertino regarding what went wrong initially, or why toggling iTunes Match off and on a few times may be necessary for some customers to reactivate Genius functionality.

No unfortunately Genius need the information from iTMS/users to get this information.
So without an account there is no way to activate that. Sorry
