Camera is not working for Skype in Mac OS Maverics

Hi,
I have MacBook Pro (Mid 2012). I have updated it to MAC OS Maverics.
Since then camera is not working for Skype (Version 6.8.0.351)- only at the start it works for few seconds and then it freezes.
It was working fine with Mac OS Lion.
Please suggest some wayout from this.

Speakers not working for Skype only on Windows 8.1

My speakers or headphones are not working for Skype desktop but work fine for any music or videos or other programms. Any help to resolve it? in Tools>Options>Audio Settings> headphones does not show up. Everything was working fine but it just happend a day before., i havent installed any program that could make problem.

This is very strange because, as you are saying this happened without any change to any software on your computer. I suggest the following:
1. To help the team analyze the issue, provide logs as described in this link under Skype for Windows Desktop and attach it to your post.
2. As an interim solution you can try using a virtual audio device that will be a middle man between skype and your physical audio device.

Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool.
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.
Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here.

Why does my camera not work for Skype?

I downloaded Skype from the app store but for some reason my camera does not turn on. I have seen several responses on other various forums. I guess part of my problem is also the fact that I am not as technically sound as others and I get lost in the verbage being used. I tune out when the dialogue response gets too long.

in sted of using the Skype app from the app store i would do it munualy from the website. befor using the camera though on some apps or websites it should/might ask you to use the camera you will need to enter the password (if you have on) and click yes its a small box looks like something from windows. I've just got Qosmio x770-105 and while setting up Skype the camera just stayed black and never showed any image. While using the Toshiba Web Camera Application it is working on Skype it just has stays black.
Do you have any suggestions on how to fix that ?

Well, you could try to remove the Toshiba Webcam Application from the system and could try to use just the Skype tool but this is just a suggestion not quite sure what cause this issue
It looks really like broken Skype utility have googled around and it looks like more Skype users have the same problem using different computers and different webcamsunfortunately did not find a exact solution proposal

Time Capsule update not working for a few MAC addresses

Whenever I update the Timed Access Schedule list of MAC addresses, some of the Wireless MAC Addresses I include go back to unlimited access ("Everyday" "all day") after a while.
In other words, the "update" list configuration is accepted and works for some time; but the filter applied to some of the MAC addresses simply stop working after a while; therefore, those MAC addresses go back to the status of unrestricted access.
This is happening consistently and I am not being able to program some MAC addresses in my local network to follow the schedule I wish (i.e., accessing the network only within previously specified.
Has anyone experienced such a problem? Is that a bug? Any hints on how to solve this?

Check the connectivity leds on both ends if possible.. certainly each port on the TC has small, micro small LED.. is it green when you are plugged in??
You will need to connect a computer and attempt to ping the TC.. see if it passes packets.
How old is the TC? The model number from the rubber foot please.. A1xxx
And also if you can check the log from a computer if there are any issues.

Web cam is not working for HP DV7

I dont see the hardware or drivers for my WebCam it is not working and im not even sure it is installed anymore. I did not have a problem up until a few months ago not sure what happened. Can it be repaired?

How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?

The problem might be a bad Skype install.
If the problem continues after you restart your Mac, reinstall the latest Skype version that is compatible with your Mac OS.

Web Cam does not work for yahoo messenger

I down loaded a s/w MacCleanse, it kinda deleted a lot of files from my mac book air after which the web cam stopped working on yahoo messenger. I checked Ichat the cam works perfectly but does'nt with messenger. Does any one have a clue on how to fix this..

from my experience, attempting to use two programs that allow the use of the camera will render it unusable on the second program attempting to use it. So, if you started iChat first, then forgot to quit the program, and are now trying to use Yahoo Messenger, then you must quit iChat first and it should work.
Not unless your cam is really broken?

Camera.setQuality() not working for H.264 enconding in Flash Player 11?

Hi,
I am using the new Flash Player 11 ability to encode the webcam video with H264 codec and send it via RTMP to a Flash Media Server. It works, but the bitrate of the video stream is not constant. Therefore the resulting stream is stuttering when playing back.
I tested it in two ways:
A) Encoding and sending the webcam video to FMS via FMLE -> very fluent playback
B) Encoding and sending the webcam video to FMS via Flash Player 11 (all setting for codec etc. are the same) -> playback is stuttering
As you can see in the screenshots below, the incoming bandwidth at FMS varies a lot. When using FMLE the incoming bitrate at the FMS is very constant:
In contrast: when using FP11, the bitrate jumps between 1000 and 6000 kbps during the whole stream:
That is definitely the reason why it "stutters" when using Flash Player 11. But I have no idea what I am doing wrong.
I am using these encoding settings for FP11 ...

Is there any known bug for Camera.setQuality when using H.264 encoding in FP11?

thanks for your answer. In which version and on which date will the CBR be implemented? Flash Player 12? Or a minor release of FP11?
And until then I have no chance to have a constant bitrate? The bitrate I am passing to Camera.setQuality will just be ignored? Or is there any workaround?
Thanks and I will test using RTMFP instead of RTMP, but the CBR is the most important thing for us.

Why is my iSight camera is not working with the new Mac Pro?

I connected the iSight camera which is a FireWire 400 into a Sonnet FireWire 800 adapter, and connected that into a FireWire to ThunderBolt adapter and plugged directly into the Mac Pro running Mave. I receive power, noted by the green light coming on, but the computer does not recognize a camera. Does anyone have an idea why this is.

We are all busy with many other problems in Pages 5.
Unless you have found some real reason to use Pages 5 just go back to Pages '09 which should still be in your Applications folder, until Apple sorts this all out.

Photostream not working for me on Mac, but Windows only

Hi there,
since yesterday I tried to connect to Photostream with my Mac, but I can't. It works fine in my Windows 7 Virtual Machine with the iCloud software, it works fine on my iPhone 4S. The iCloud System Status suggests that all services work just fine.
However, as soon as I try to activate Photostream in iPhoto 9.2 (626) (App Store version) or Aperture 3.2 (non App Store version), I am presented with the message, which roughly translates to "Activating Photostream... iPhoto couldn't connect to Photostream", with an "Abort" button as the only option.
All other iCloud features work perfectly fine for me. Any suggestiosn?
