Camera LED Flash Bug/Defect

okay so I think theres something wrong with 4.3.1 or, its just my phone. Okay so you start the camera app.(make sure its the back facing camera when opened*the one with the flash*). Then press the button to switch to the front facing camera. Now press the camera album at the bottom left. Press done. Now switch to the back facing camera. Is your flash button still working? Because everytime I run that sequence, at the end it says that my phone is too hot and that i need to let it cool down first. I need help on this. It's an annoyance I can't ignore.

I tried this with much skepticism and am amazed to say that you are absolutely correct. This is certainly not supposed to happen and unfortunately there is no easy way for you to fix this yourself - this is something Apple needs to address.
However, it is easy to avoid as that is kind of a long string of events that need to occur before the error happens.

hi! i have a strange problem with my n97 mini.the led from camera it's on nonstop with the orange light,why?i turned it off i left it without battery but the problem persist! the orange light it's always on!!!!

So when you reinstall the battery in the phone, the camera led flash comes on, or?

N-79 LED FLASH LIGHT & CAMERA PROBLEM

i've had the n79 for slightly over a year. i can't say it's been problem free, after about 8 months i had problems with the screen when a pixel died in one spot and then across a whole row..it was under warranty so i got the screen replaced but currently i'm suffering problems with the camera and the led flash. a couple of weeks ago the phone got a bump while i was shaving. i checked it immediately. the problems i found was the battery had become slightly loose and the slider cover wasn't as taut as previously, now it requires me to slide it almost all the way to close it. Another problem was with the led flash. when i tried to take a picture the flash didn't work, it just stopped working. (the pictures are only reasonable in clear daylight and even those seem disappointing.) i thought it would resolve itself so i left it, while checking it intermittently. and a week ago it did work but only for a short period of time. Recently however the main problem seems to be that the Camera just switches itself on.. this is putting a drain on my battery.
i don't wan't to do a hard reset as i think i'd lose all the n-gage games i've bought.. is there any other way to resolve my issues...especially the led flash as the pictures i can are rubbish. can it be solved by a hard reset???
my phone model number is N 79-1 and the type is RM 348.the software version is 32.001
i unforunately do not have the phone covered under warranty...
any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

My camera flash started coming on to notify me of new emails. It started after the recent software update.
The solution to get the feature to turn off was to go into Settings... Accessibility... and scroll down to "Flash notification" under the Hearing section. There seemed to be a bug in the recent software update. This setting on my phone was already marked as Off, but I was getting the notifications anyway. To get the flash notifications to stop, I needed to turn the setting On and exit out of settings, then go back in and turn it Off again. This time the selection took.
There was another discussion in here that recommended turning the phone off and then back on in between making changes to the setting. For me, that step was not necessary.

LED Flash not working on my Incredible

I cannot get the LED Flash to work when I take photos with my HTC Incredible. Is my phone defective or is it just turned off somewhere?

With the camera or video camera on. When you see an image on the screen, touch the screen anywhere and options will show up. One is a lightning bolt. Touch that, it will turn on the flash.

Why won't my led flash after turning it on in accesibility?

Turned on LED Flash for Alerts under accessibility and it worked great for a few days and now it's stopped. What happened? What can I do to get it to blind again when i get calls or notifications?

Never mind. I saw this in the forums after I submitted my question:
"hey everyone. try this before you make trips to the store. turn off the light in your settings and reset your phone. (hold power and home until the apple logo comes up). then when the phone has started back up, turn the light on again and test it ! ( send yourself a text and turn off your screen. you should get the flash when you receive your msg!)
keep in mind though it doesnt flash until you have your screen off.
i think the light must glitch out if you change the flash settings in your camera- and the program requires a restart. hopefully apple fixes this bug (:"

It sounds like the camera and LED are nto working as expected on your iPhone. I would use these troubleshooting steps to help isolate the issue from the following article:

Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:
Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

Led Flash for Alerts not working.

iOS5 - Accessibility - LED Flash for Alerts turned on.
But LED does not flash when phone call coming in.
Anyone has the same problem. How to fix it?

LED flash replacement. Is it possible?

Does anyone know is it possible to replace only LED flash but not the whole camera module in case of faulty flash?
I've tried to search for different repair parts for iPhone 4 and found nothing about separate part for LED flash.

Is LED flash used for taking pictures at low light?

I recently bought 4s iphone, currently when i take pics in the night or low light the image is not clear due to LED flash light. Does LED flash is used only for notification /alerts or is it mainly used for creating better pictures in low light?

That is correct.
* Double check if there is a plastic film covering the camera and the flash.
** In my personal opinion, pictures using the flash in iPhone are of poor quality anyway.

IPhone 4 warranty/LED flash and low in-call volume

I just got an iPhone 4 8gb, my boyfriend bought it for me from his roommate. I checked on Apple Support and entered my serial number and evidently the phone is still covered by warranty.
I noticed that during a phone call I cannot hardly hear the other person speaking. I tried EVERYTHING, hard reset, resetting everything, I made sure to have the in-call volume all the way up.. nothing. Also, the LED flash on the camera does not work. I did not notice this until I tried to take a picture in the dark. I turned on the flash, tried it in video, downloaded iTorch and it worked on and off a few times but it is very random. Whenever I place my finger over the sensor it will come on, but turns off immediately when I take my finger away.
Since the warranty is still valid, am I eligible to have this taken care of even though I didn't purchase the iPhone directly?

Okay so bringing it into the apple store, I can get it fixed. But what about the registration? The previous owner is military stationed overseas and the phone is still registered in his name, he couldn't use it over there which is why he sold it to me.. but its not like I can bring him along with me in the store when I go to get the phone repaired.

Hi. I was wondering if anybody could help me... I went to bed on Tuesday night. I put my phone on charge. Was just laying there and all of a sudden me and my partner saw this really bright 'flash, flash'. It looked like it was coming from my iPhone but we couldn't be sure. We unplugged everything bar my phone, from charging and it never happened again. Then Thursday morning we had exactly the same thing happen. My phone is always face down, so we knew it wasn't the screen. And then today my phone was ledged on my work desk, screen up and I received 2 messages. My phone went buzz, as it was on silent, and then this bright 'flash, flash' came out of my camera. It all started before I installed iOS6. So it can't be that. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

you must have 'led for alerts' on. go to settings, accessability, led flash for alerts.

PowerBook G4 - Won't Start Up - 3 Strange Beeps then just LED flashes and sudden death - black screen.

PowerBook G4 - Won't Start Up - 3 Strange Beeps then just LED flashes and sudden death - black screen.
Prior that the powerbook also couldn't start but I could see the Apple logo, so via fire-wire (holding T at start up) I backed up the hard disk.
Check via DiskToolPro the structure, defragmented. Via DiskWarrior rebuild the directory
and finally not been able to access the drive I reformatted the drive via fire-wire drive.
Re-started the powerbook holding C to boot up from DVD - nothing
Re-started again and it give me one long beep and black screen. An indication that my 1gig RAM is bad or gone (?) and the DVD is stuck inside.
Bought new one 1 gig, installed it and now I'm getting only three beeps.
I tried all, changed the slots several times and nothing.
I tried more as:
                         c -- to boot from CD (again while the DVD is still inside and I cannot get it out)
                         cmd-opt-p-r -- to Zap the PRAM,
                         cmd-opt-n-v -- to clear NV RAM,
                         cmd-opt-o-f -- to boot into open firmware … and nothing. The DVD is in and I have
                                                black screen with three beeps and flashing LED.
Do I have to replace the Logic Board?   (Anyone has a spare one ?)
But it is the faulty Logic board?
Could anyone help me out? Please.
I'm retired and I cannot afford a new laptop - and this powerbook was a great, great horse for me until that horrible set of three beeps.

There was a known issue with LBs in 15-inch PowerBooks with 1.5 and 1.67Ghz processors in which one RAM slot would fail. There once was a repair extension program that fixed the problem at no cost, but it is long-expired.
The problem with seeking a used logic board for these models is that so many had their boards replaced that it increases the chances of the boards in the used/pulled markets having the same problem you have now. The replacement program also came close to exhausting the supply of new boards,
If it turns out to be a bad LB and you can't find a replacement, consider how used computer pricing works: A used computer is worth hugely more in parts than if bought as a working unit. I.E, you can probably find a working PowerBook that will cost less than the logic bard alone. It also possible to find a used MacBook Pro for less that a replacement LB.
If you tell us your approximate geographic location, we can see what's available nearby. I'm also retired, and and visiting my wife's family this week so have even more time than usual to help you search.

Num lock led flashes????

hi all,
i wonder if this has happened to any of u out there with a MB in the hand, the led under the num lock key flashes REALLY repidly.
here's how it happened: my MB was on mains with battery out, got my nano plugged in for charging, got itune on for some music, had the screen saver on with the mouse pointer at the hot corner and the lid open. then left it like tht for about 10 mins, came bk and found the led flashing like mad. when i press the num lock key the led went stead green (just like normal) the computer came out of the screen saver and when i press the num lock key again the led went off (like normal again).
my MB is my first experience of a mac, so im wondering if this led flash indicates some sort of work carried out at the bk ground or something.

E52 LED flash too bright

The LED flash on the mobile is so strong that no photos can be taken with flash on.
The light from the flash just makes your photo a plain white picture with nothing on it.
Anyone else facing same problem? I think nokia has really messed up on this.

I think, something is wrong with your camera. Get it to service center.
Mine does good photos with the flash light. It is not even that bright as a suny day. So, something prevents your camera to calculate exposure correctly.
