Camera led
hi! i have a strange problem with my n97 mini.the led from camera it's on nonstop with the orange light, why?i turned it off i left it without battery but the problem persist! the orange light it's always on!!!!
So when you reinstall the battery in the phone, the camera led flash comes on, or?
If that's the case, I think you will have to visit a Nokia care point.

Are there any on-camera LEDs that have a decent spread, at least 120 degrees or more? Seems like most LEDs are faaaaar too directional to be of any actual use for event videography. (But I reeeeeally want a self contained unit. I'm tired of carrying around lighting batteries.)
Jim, they do a two-light kit with a set of filters that I thought was quite clever, could be used very effectively as a hair light or back light without adding to your tote weight much.
The only comment I would make is that I didn't think they were all that bright.

I use the LED notifications and the notifications weren't working. I found out when I had the flash off in the camera app, my LED notifications did not work.
OK... so turn it on?

Camera LED Flash Bug/Defect
okay so I think theres something wrong with 4.3.1 or, its just my phone. Okay so you start the camera app.(make sure its the back facing camera when opened*the one with the flash*). Then press the button to switch to the front facing camera. Now press the camera album at the bottom left. Press done. Now switch to the back facing camera. Is your flash button still working? Because everytime I run that sequence, at the end it says that my phone is too hot and that i need to let it cool down first. I need help on this. It's an annoyance I can't ignore.
I tried this with much skepticism and am amazed to say that you are absolutely correct. This is certainly not supposed to happen and unfortunately there is no easy way for you to fix this yourself - this is something Apple needs to address.
However, it is easy to avoid as that is kind of a long string of events that need to occur before the error happens.

Camera led is not working properly after update
After updating to IOS 6.0.1 led is not working properly.
When filming , the led is burning very weak, and when lightsetting is turned to
automatic not at all.Reset your phone first, hold the home and off button down until the apple symbol comes up. If that doesnt do it, then do a restore from your backup in itunes.

please help asap!

Questions about X6 camera and LEDs
Two questions:
- Is it safe to use the camera LEDs like flashlight continuously (over 30secs)? I use Brightlight - app from Ovi-store.
- What material is protective lens of main camera? Glass or plastic?krtlv wrote:
I Have not yet used LEDs more than five seconds longer because I'm afraid that the LEDs overheating or somekind like that. 30secs is just example.
Why not there are any notifications or warnings If led it is not safety use longer periods? Whose responsibility is if the phone breaks down, Brightlight developer, Nokia or user?
I wouldn't worry. LEDs don't really heat up.
You'll probably notice a few proper torches now come with LEDs rather than normal bulbs.
Also quite a few phones come with the Ability to use the LED Flash as a torch (My HTC does)
You should be able to use the LED Flashlight app without any issues

Optical drive, camera and bluetooth problems with Acer Aspire 7520
Hello everyone
First, my DVD drive just stopped working, it's not being recognized by Arch it seems. This has happened before a few times, but it suddenly started to work. I can open the tray manually, and when I insert a DVD, you can see the led blinking and drive does start to spin, but thats all. I've tried removing and reloading cdrom module with no success. Also, there was a /dev/sr0 before, now it's gone.
Here is the output from dmesg:

Now, the camera issue is a bit different. It worked before with no problems. But now, when I start guvcview, it opens it's main window, and a second window that usually show picture from camera, just appears for a moment and disappears. The led next to my camera turns on, and stays that way. Also, yesterday when I was trying to test the camera, guvcview stuck in a uninteruptible state, so I couldn't kill him in any way. Even after I close guvcview, the camera led is still on, but he is not among active processes. Although in the guvcview output below it says that the device is in use, I don't know how, because I rebooted my laptop and then I tried to run it.
This is what guvcview outputs in console after I start and then close it:

Thanks for the kind words, crampy!
crampy wrote: ... are there ways to do hardware tests?
Yes.
Users can test some portions of their Macs' hardware components by using Apple Hardware Test. Different Mac models have different ways of accessing AHT. See the User Guide manual that came with your Mac for specific instructions on how to use AHT for your particular Mac.
AHT can find some problems. However, in my experience, it often reports that all is well, even when the Mac is not working. Therefore, if AHT finds no problem, don't automatically conclude that all of your hardware is working.
Apple Authorized Service Providers have access to proprietary technical data, special tools, and much more robust testing equipment and software than AHT provides. Based on the description OP gave of his trouble, I think it almost impossibly unlikely that AHT would find anything that would help. That is why I did not include AHT info in my reply to OP.

LED flash replacement. Is it possible?
Hi.
Does anyone know is it possible to replace only LED flash but not the whole camera module in case of faulty flash?
I've tried to search for different repair parts for iPhone 4 and found nothing about separate part for LED flash.
Thanks in advance.AFAIK, the camera & LED are one part:

IPhone dock with a message or notification front led
Hello there,
is there a chance to get the iPhone dock with a message led in front to signalize whether there are unread messages and mails, lost calls or any other notification, e.g. low battery? All docks I found so far are non-communicative as well as the iPhone case itself is. I don't mean a notification for incoming calls like the flashing camera led, i think about a docked iPhone standing on the desk with switched off display and you can see whether it is useful to unlock the iPhone to check for mails or calls or even not by a single led in front that tells you about.
I hope there is no patent pending for other manufacturers so it would be great if Apple would enhance the docks with that tiny useful feature. And if I have a wish, don't make it only for iPhone 6, provide it for all iOS 7 capable iPhones.
Sincerely
AlexThis is a user-to-user forum. If you wish to offer a suggestion to Apple, you can do so here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/
However, past history would indicate that this isn't something Apple would be at all interested in. It would be left to third party accessory developers. -
IPhone4 upgrade 6.1 - camera gone
Right after i updated to 6.1 the camera disappeared and all camera-related apps weren't supporting cam any longer. LED (flashlight) tells me my device had no Camera LED.
Any Suggestions pls?
Make a great day! That doesn't sound right. Check your restriction setting. Settings > General > Restrictions > Camera. This can hide the Camera App on the Home screen.

WVC54GCA Cam blinkling - no way to stop
My WVC54GCA has stopped working after I erroneously changed the Security setting (from WPA/WPA2 to none). now the camera led is blinking, the setup wizard cannt find the camera and the reset button has no effect. I have also tried to connect it to the modem (Alice box in France) by ethernet but does not work either.
I just cannot have my camera online anymore and access it by any mean.
Any idea someone?
Solved!
Go to Solution.are you using the original power adapter for the device? a blinking powerlight may sometimes indicate that the device is not getting enough power supply.
if you've properly reset the device, and still not getting it to respond in any way, it may already be bricked. -
Led light used as a flash light
Has anyone figured out how to turn the camera led flash on for a light.
My wifes htc is able to use the led for a light at night to check your keys, read a map,etc
also my uncles trac phone has an led light to be used as a flashlight.just wondered if any modders were working on this.(it's pretty bad when a trac prepaid phone has this feature and my uncle picks on me cause my bb can't do it.he calls it a crapberry. As long as you backup your data before you perform the upgrade, you'll be fine.
By default, during the Upgrade of the OS, desktop manager will backup the data and restore it after the upgrade.
You will see vast improvements with the upgrade. -
hi guys,
i have a T400. couple of days ago, my camera had problem. there is no image when it is open. when i try to open it via messenger, sometimes camera led lights on always and sometimes, it lights on and lights off again immediately. there is no image right now.
what i try for solution is, i uninstalled the driver, and installed again, or uninstalled driver, then installed again after restart computer. However, it is the same.
how can i handle this problem?
thanks....hey wolverine42,
uninstall the camera driver and do not install anything.
disable the camera via device manager, restart your unit.
go back to device manager and enable your camera. if windows tries to install camera drivers, let it do so.
whether it does or does not, restart your unit. test your camera again.
also head over to http://support.lenovo.com and update your unit.
