Camera Light Blink after update to os x 10.10 Yosemite

Hi,
I am having a 13" macBook Pro Early 2011 edition, I recently upgraded the OS 10.9 Mavericks to OS X 10.10 Yosemite.
After the update the machine has slowdown drastically and the green light beside the camera of the macbook blinks every times the machine is
1. Awake from sleep
2. Put to Sleep
3. Shutdown
4. Booted
5. Connected to charging
6. Disconnected from Charging
kindly fix the bug as soon as possible.
or let me know how to fix it myself.

Click on the words "Inactive plug-in installed" and it should activate Java and run the code from the remote site, provided you have the most up-to-date version of Java installed (as of this time/date that would be 1.7.0_17.)

  • HT5706 Apple TV 3 light blinking after update attempt, not working

Apple TV not working after update attempt. The Apple TV light just keeps blinking can not turn it off and unplugging it for 30 seconds is not a remedy. I have tried that several times.I have only had this for a few weeks now I am vary disappointed.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
    Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device)

  • Camera not working and light blinking after upgrade

After upgrading to Mavericks, the built-in camera on my MacBook Air (mid-2013) has stopped working in all applications. When I start an application that uses the camera, the image does not appear, and the camera light blinks rapidly until I close the application. Console shows the following messages:
    11/24/13 11:34:08.000 a.m. kernel[0]: AppleCamIn::power_off_hardware
    11/24/13 11:34:08.000 a.m. kernel[0]: AppleCamIn::power_on_hardware

The latter two messages repeat until I close the application.
This is not the same problem as the Skype camera issue that was resolved with a previous update. I have tried resetting the NVRAM and PMU, reinstalling Mavericks, and using the guest account.
This user has the same issue: https://discussions.apple.com/message/23721483#23721483
Any help would be greatly appreciated — I would really like to have my camera working!

    Hello grmurchison,
Thank you for providing the details of the issue you are experiencing with your built-in iSight camera.  You have taken some really great steps to isolate and troubleshoot the issue.  I found an article with a couple of additional steps (you can skip the steps you have already taken):
    Built-in iSight cameras
These steps are for iSight cameras that are built into a computer, such as the iMac G5 (iSight) or later, the MacBook, or MacBook Pro.
See if the issue is application-specific.
Try another application (iSight works with applications like iChat, PhotoBooth, and iMovie HD 6) to see if the iSight camera exhibits the same behavior in all applications. If it only happens in one application, try reinstalling that application.
See if the issue is user-specific.
Test your iSight camera in another user account. If the issue only occurs in one user, the issue would be isolated to user settings.
Find out if the computer recognizes the iSight
Check System Profiler (in the Utilities folder, inside the Applications folder). Under the USB header, check to see if the iSight camera is detected.
    Reset SMC or PMU
Reset your computer's SMC or PMU, and then check System Profiler again. (SMC reset instructions for iMac G5 (iSight), Intel-based iMacs; PMU reset instructions for MacBook and MacBook Pro.)
If your built-in iSight camera is still not behaving correctly after trying all these steps, you may need to contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service.

  • External iSight Camera not working after update installed?

a couple of weeks ago I turned on iChat and up popped a window that said i needed to update the (external) iSight camera i had plugged into my minimac (firewire). followed the instructions and did just that. little greenlight glowed happily, rotated lens and opened iChat--little green light blinked off and then iChat showed that the camera was not turned on. tried turning it on and off by rotating the lens, unplugging firewire and also restarted computer...no change. looked for update to firmware and downloaded 1.0.3, only to be told it does not work with OS 10.4 (bummer).
had a back up camera, plugged that in and no problems...trouble is roomate recently got the pop-up screen when he was using it and, thinking he was doing me a favor, 'updated'...so now have 2 cameras that do not work and no answers to be found on the posts or the apple support site.
    any ideas?

    Welcome to Discussions, johnboysf
    (1) Assuming you are not ANY having other problems with your Macs and that your Mac OS X Maintenance is up to date, you can concentrate on the iSight part of your system(s).
Restart your Mac with no unnecessary peripherals connected and try the suggestions here:
      http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93240
    (2) If your iSight still does not work with any app, check for Possible hardware or software conflicts with iSight.
    (3) I cannot tell whether your mini is an iNtel or PPC. Apply the appropriate Combo Updater as follows if you still have the problem:
    • Backup your Home Folder, or at very least, your important files.
    • Repair permissions. (Click here if you need help.)
    • For PPC, download and apply the Mac OS X 10.4.10 Combo Update (PPC).
    • For iNtel, download and apply the Mac OS X 10.4.10 Combo Update v1.1 (Intel).
    • Finish with another Permissions Repair, and then check your iSight again.
Users have reported fixes to a variety of audio, video, connectivity, and software conflicts and unreliability issues after properly applying Combo Updates.
    (4) If your problem persists after trying all of the above, the problem may be with your iSight itself. The fact that you got that notification after you had previously been using your iSight successfully under OS 10.4.x, and the fact that the updater ran for you and your roommate under OS 10.4.x, makes me think there may be something wrong with your iSights. The Tiger (10.4.x) OS includes all the necessary earlier update (including iSight Firmware 1.0.3) and installs the Firmware update if necessary at the time you installed Tiger or first connected your iSight. Therefore, the Firmware update should be unnecessary and should not have been identified by Software Update... as being needed (unless someone has improperly thrown away some OS X files.)
As you note, iSight Firmware 1.0.3 will not run except on Mac OS X v10.3.7-10.3.9 (or, it now seems, if something is wrong.) If you have access to a Firewire-equipped Mac that is using one of these OSs, you can try applying the update to your iSights using that Mac.
    (5) If you cannot find a Mac that is still using Panther, or if applying the update does not resolve your problem, contact your Apple Authorized Service Provider for professional service. Ask your AASP if he wants to see your Macs, too, to check whether their software has been modified or damaged.

  • Lumia 720 camera gets bad after updating to Amber?...

    Hi guys,
I got the Amber Update for my 720 last night. It's a nice little update, except the camera seems to perform worse. The images always seems to be washed out and more blurry. in low light it takes (much) brighter photos, but also a lot noisier and blurry. And the images always seems to have an awful green colour tint. I'm a bit annoyed right now . Anyone else experience this on their lumia?
I attached two photos  for reference. One is taken before the update, and the other one is taken after it.

the two images you posted definitely show worse image after update :/
aside from increasing my average battery consumpution on standby, the amber did not affect the quality of my camera / fotos. i have no foto comparison for before n after, but with my overall experience in photography, id say the amber update somewhat improved the camera's low light performance, notwithstanding grain ofcourse.
colors seem to still be acceptable. i think nokia has been able to improve their post processing software along with the update (as far as my experience is concerned).
maybe a factory reset n re-install of the update would help. but before you do that, try to think really hard if you were in the right camera settings / using 'lenses' or other camera apps, etc.
note : always backup your data before wiping the os

  • Camera not working after updating to Mavericks

    Hi,
After updating to OS x Mavericks my webcam is not working anymore.
I tested it with photobooth and skype but its not working.
    Please advice.
    Cheers,
    Chinmaya

    Use Apple's http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090
(Over time, Apple has changed the built-in camera's name on newer Macs from "iSight" to "FaceTime" and then to "FaceTime HD."  Regardless of the name of your Mac's built-in camera, the same info and troubleshooting applies.)
To find out what you need to fix, you may need to test more than one Apple app in more than  one user account.
All works for me, but you may need to update to the latest Skype (Skype_6.9.0.517).

  • Z10 - 10.2.1 to 10.3.1: One year of camera pictures missing after updating

    Hello,
After updating a Z10 from 10.2.1 to 10.3.1, I have one device (out of 5) with one year of pictures that are unaccounted for (April 2014 to before the update). The Z10 has a SD card but pictures were always saved on the Device storage. The BlackBerry Link full backup file size dropped from 7.64GB to 4,44GB after updating the device, so the pictures are clearly not there anymore.
I always backup devices before updating, so I was able to recover the missing pictures, but this is not acceptable behavior ... Seems to me to be a very serious bug.
    Very similar to this post:
Missing camera pictures and saved picture files following OS update from 10.2 to 10.3
    https://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/forums/replypage/board-id/Z10/message-id/74141

Confirmed that the same bad behavior is there now that the calendar has rolled forward to May.
Like I said this raises the question of what else is broken in the basic functionality of an essential app.
BlackBerry folks reading this - hope to you see you reproduce the bug, and acknowledge ingestion of a bug report into your internal bug tracking system, for priority fix on next OS release.
Others reading this, if you reproduce the bug (should be easy) - please add comments as you see fit, to get BlackBerry's attention on this one.

  • Camera not working after update ios5

My son has the 3gs iphone. After updating to new ios5 a few weeks ago, his camera stopped working. It will take a picture but it shows as a blank photo and he lost all the pictures he had on the phone as well. He just got the phone the end of Sept so he had no other back up or restore at the time of the update.
We tried to restore to original setting and has not worked. Any suggestions?

You might be out of luck... PlayBook support officially ended a couple months ago if I recall...
BUT, try anyway. Previous issues with this very same grey bar camera issue were fixed free of charge with a RMA number from BlackBerry.

  • RE1000 power light blinking after power failure

I've tried the 8 sec reset and the 30-30-30 reset but can't get the light to stop blinking and so can't connect to the unit. It was working fine before the power went out. Any suggestions?

I had the same issue after a power outage today. I online live chat with an agent for about 15 minutes until he provided me three options all about that I would have to pay extra to get it replaced or fixed because mine was just out of warranty yesterday. I was lucky enough because mine RE1000 was not dead completely. I followed the instructions in this community and restored its service successfully.
    Here is what I did.
    1. Reset the extender by 30-30-30 method. The LED still blinked after reset.
    2. Turned off wifi on my laptop and assign a static IP on my laptop: 192.168.1.x. Ping RE's default gateway 192.168.1.1 with an Ethernet connection. It returned good result.
    3. Log on Web Admin Page and I was prompted to upload its firmware. Followed the screen instruction to upload the firmware that I already downloaded previously. Waited until everything was finished and it rebooted. Volla. It was back to life.
I guess it might have lost the firmware somehow after power failure. Is there a battery inside the extender to power the flash rom?
Here are few instructions I followed up:

Cisco/Linksys/Berkin, you **bleep**. It is not that easy to rob my money what I earn by hard work.
Thanks for all advice and good luck.

  • Camera icon missing after updating to ios 5

After updating to ios 5, the quick access camera icon is missing on the lock screen, I cannot access the camera unless I unlock phone. Has anyone else had this issue? I thought this was supposed to be one of the upgrade features?

Yes. Mine too. Infact, along with Quick Access Camera Icon, my phone is also missing FaceTime and Imessage and Icloud (if there is any) icons. The settings, however, for facetime and imessage looks "Activated" because it doesn't say "waiting for activation" anymore when I eneter my password. it reads "Your phone number and email address will be shared……"

  • Ix2 red light blinking after RAID 1 to RAID 0

Just bought a brand new Ix2 Lenovo unit. Quick start setup was easy, and I was able to connect to the unit. When trying to change disks to RAID 1 to RAID 0 through webpage configurator, it asked me to erase all data. I selected OK, since there was no data inside.
When building RAID after reboot, it goes to red light blinking. I have tried using manual reset button, but after few minutes with light blinking white, it goes to red again.
What did I do wrong?? Can you please help? It is a shame since I didnt have the unit for 24hrs.
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello Pemba21
If the unit has not passed the flashing white boot process, then there is something stalling the unit.
Did you run a factory reset from the web interface or from the rear pin-hole reset?
I recommend swapping the internal disks to opposite bays while the unit is powered off then try booting again.  It should only take about 5 minutes.
To access the disks, pull up on the faceplate and to unlatch it from the chassis, then pull the faceplate away from the chassis.  The disks will have a plastic tray that locks them in place.
If that does not seem to help, I recommend contacting LenovoEMC support to create an incident.

  • Why are my photos in my camera roll missing after updating to iOS5.1.1?

I just updated my iPhone 4s to the newest iOS5.1.1 to my horror, my photos in my camera roll are all missing.
I backed up and everything before updating but my photos are gone.
I've rebooted it, restored it several times but it won't work.
My lockscreen and homescreen wallpapers are saved in my camera roll previously and they're still present.
    Why?
    HELP ME PLEASE, SOMEONE?

Your pics are very likely gone.
You should be importing all pics taken with iphone to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera. especially before any update/restore/etc.
    Camera Roll is temporary storage.

  • Power Light Blinks after firmware update to 1.00.17

    I have model # WRT54GX4.
It has worked great, i just wanted to update the firmware.
I updated the firmware from 1.00.15 to 1.00.17 and now the power light just blinks.
Based on what i read it sounds like the firmware needs re-loaded because it could be corrupt on the router now.  It could have been the way that i upgraded.  i was in wireless mode when i did the upgrade thru the web utility, mayby i should have been plugged in.  The other thing is that i use 192.168.1.X range (not 192.168.0.X range), i am not sure if the firmware upgrade changes the ip back to 192.168.1.1, which affected the upgrade.
In either case my power light is blinking.  i also tryed to hold the reset button for 10 seconds, i also tried 30.  After that i plugged directly into the router from the pc using a regular patch cable.  I change the ip on my machine to 192.168.1.8 and the subnet to 255.255.255.0 to match the router.  i am assuming that the router is reset to 192.168.1.1 now that i pressed the reset button.  After doing all this i get a network connection, but i cannot ping 192.168.1.1.
Here is my other question.   To fix the issue i would think that i would have to run the firmware upgrade utility from outside the router, now that the router is not accessible.  But the download page does not have a firmware utility like the other models.  The instructions want you to use the web utility on the router.
    Please help.

    HI,
u can upgrade the router from the "outside" using the tftp utility available at ftp.linksys.com/pub/network/tftp.exe .
however you first have to be able to ping the router....reduce the NIC speed to 10Mbps...assign a static IP to your PC ...reset the router and then try to ping....once the ping is confirmed....you can upgrade the firmware.
and yes the default router IP should now be 192.168.1.1

  • Yosemite macbook pro early 2011 camera light blinks

I tried to find a similar question that I saw with a Google Search but couldn't find here... But I REALLY like the Yosemite upgrade... I have problems with FaceTime - sometimes I hang up and it continues to ring, and can not connect as reliably as I could in the past with Mavericks... Also, I have noticed that the light near my camera blinks from time to time... On another post, the guy/gal listed when he noticed it blinking... A bit scary as I wonder if when it is blinking it is secretly taking m picture and sending it to some remote location... I use Little Snitch so doubt that pictures are being exfiltrated without my knowledge, but you never know... But bottom line is that I LOVE the Yosemite upgrade!  Upgraded relatively smoothly on my MacBook Pro early 2011... upgraded a few of the apps (free upgrades) and after that, and a couple reboots to make sure the upgrades were in place - all is REAL GOOD... GOOD JOB Apple OS/X developers on Yosemite!!!

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.
