I have a problem with N73..
Is there any way to Switch off the sound while taking Photos...
& Is there any way to Switch off the flash light while taking video..with N73..
Any suggestion would be appreciated

I don't think there is a 3rd app for that. the camera also uses the flash for auto focus so if it was disabled, the videos wouldn't be as good.

I have a 6+ which seems to be having a strange issue.
Whenever I take pictures or screenshots, there is no shutter sound for the first shot.

I just wanted to follow this up by saying that you were entirely correct in your diagnosis of the situation. My computer did have the faulty part you linked to. I brought my laptop in and specifically told them to run that test, had it fail and then argued with the person at the genius bar and the manager. Eventually they offered to have it sent out and have everything replaced for free of charge. They did so mainly because I had complained about graphical issues almost every other time I had come in with problems and no one ran the test. They should have caught this problem during my warranty, but they didn't, even though I mentioned the problem.
Anyhow, after having the part replaced, I haven't had my computer crash a single time since, or had many of the issues mentioned above. I've never had this experience before. Even brand new, I got occasional crashes. Hopefully this new trend continues.
I do find that web browsing is still incredibly slow. Web browsers just chug along at a slow pace, even though I have great internet speed. Maybe I'll try just deleting my web browsers and reinstalling them...

Camera light problem

Camera light on stock app on Lumia 720 does not work, it didn't before and after 8.1 update. But on nokia camera app it does work fine, i think it is a bug. I just could use nokia camera but i like stock camera app more its just faster on this mid range device. Also i hoped that recent 8.1 update will fix the bug, it changed the app a little but camera light still fails to work

For a minor bug like this hard reset seams unnesesary, also i checked my friends phone, same thing but it is not lumia 720 but 925. Mabie this bug gets unnotised since you dont usualy try to film at night in complete darknes a lot

Lose sound exporting movie to camera.Scene selection problem

I have 2 painful questions!
1-I have Macintosh G5. New! I can't export my edited movie back to camera with sound of music that I add to my movie. Sound of shooting is there but not an additional track of music from CD
2-I tried to burn a DVD, but I can't split my movie into parts. It is a wedding, and I want separate parts of the wedding-ceremony, reception, blessing... I used chapters markers in iMovie program, but in DVD project it is going like that: Ceremony and everything after that, next scene is reception and everything after that,next scene is interview and everything after that. Something small is missing, that I do not understand.How do I end each chapter so it does not run on?

My main guess.
There is a factor if the sound is recorded with 12 bit or 16 bit in the Camera.
Many Cameras are factory preset to 12 bit sound (to make it possibly to
add sound directly in the Camera - for those without a Mac)
Change this with the menu on Your Camera and try again.
This is of Course if the sound is OK in iMovie. Play to the end of Your project
and be very observant on the sound at the end part of it.

N73: camera light off

Hi,
I have just bought this phone and it seems quite okay. I searched discussions about that matter can you switch off the camera light (not the flash light). Answers were that this function is not possible for one reason or other. But this is a very inconvenient feature when you want to picture for example animals in a nature. You will probably forget to put your finger over the light (as someone suggested) and then you most certainly will not be given a second change.

if ur going to be taking pictures of animals in nature (or up-skirt shots ) you will be better off with a professional or even a halfway decent camera where u CAN for sure turn off the light...i believe the flashing flash cant be turned off for security reasons so that people always know when a photo is being made (think taking pictures of confidential office documents which u are not supposed to)

Macbook air camera light flashing on resume?

Hi guys, my Macbook air (11 inch, mid 2011) has recently had its facetime camera light flashing on resume when I open the macbook lid. The time period when it flashed varies, but I am worried about security, and if someone has access to the camera.

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to gather information about the state of your computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it on this page. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the request of a stranger on a public message board. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them.
Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed: Copy a line of text from this web page into the window of another application. Wait for the script to run. It usually takes a couple of minutes. Then paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page. The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. Details follow.
4. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "syntax error," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know your password, or if you prefer not to enter it, just press return three times at the password prompt.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line "[Process completed]" to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report your results. No harm will be done.
8. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

My iphone got wet in the rain. the camera light is now permanently on - any clues

my iphone got wet in the rain and does not appear to be working - the camera light is permanently on...

Does the camera work correctly? I have seen this before on iPhone 4, so may not apply to 4S. But if camera does not work, then simple camera replacement could be the next step to fixing this problem of both camera and flash (they are combined part).

Photo Booth - green camera light on - no picture showing

The green camera light fo the iSight camera is lit up. but when i go to Photo Booth, there is only a black screen - no image is showing, Can anyone tell me how to get an image?

Merely restarting you Mac may also fix your problem. If not, disconnect any USB peripherals and restart your Mac to see if the problem was caused by a conflict.
If your problem persists after the restart, try all relevant suggestions from Apple's How to Troubleshoot iSight.
If the reset suggested there does not correct your problem, and if PB is the ONLY app that does NOT work properly with ANY app that uses iSight in ANY user account that you test, quit Photo Booth. Then delete the Photo Booth Preferences file (com.apple.photobooth.plist) from your Home / Library / Preferences folder. Then launch Photo Booth again and see if the problem is corrected.
If none of the above helps and you need to post back for other suggestions, please list EVERY apps that work correctly with your iSight and EVERY one that does not. Also tell us whether the problem is EXACTLY the same in every user account you tested.
If necessary, we will offer specific suggestions based on the details in your response.

N95 8GB camera light stay on all the time

I have had the N95 for 5 months and have been very pleased with it. I have now developed a problem with the camera light. not sure how or when it happened. Other than the fact the camera light stays on all the time, the only way to get the light off is to remove the battery...!!!
Is there a simple solution or does this need to be returned for repair

Hi I've been having this same problem this week! I'm going to wipe my phone and re-install the software update and see if that works, otherwise it's off to Vodaphone to be repaired
It's strange it's just suddenly started doing it, and it's been a while since I first installed the latest update, when it came out.

Photo Booth camera light

Approximately one in ten times that I turn on my new MacBook, the green camera light is on. If I open Photo Booth the camera screen is green. I then turn off the computer and re-start. Sometimes that solves the problem. Sometimes the light is still on. I then unplug the power cord, remove the battery, then replace the battery. After I restart, the light is off, and Photo Booth works.
For $2000, this ought not to happen.

when my friend sends me a ichat video chat request, my cam light comes on, but my cam, nor hers, nor the request she sent shows up, nor does it make the ringing sound when a call is coming in. also it says she is in another chat but shes not. and when i send the request my cam comes on, but she doesnt get the request. i have a mac pro with os x lion.

Your HD may be crashed, so you probably should use the oringinal install discs to run Apple Hardware Test in extended mode. If error codes appear this confirms a hardware failure. In addition you cannnot repair the HD using Disk Utility from the startup disk, you have to use the origninal Install discs that shipped with the computer or the most up-to-date version of OS X on a disc that you have.

The little red light inside the headphone port comes on. This could last for a few minutes and then everything is fine again. It happens when I play DVD's as well. The sound goes and the DVD practically stops playing or the picture is slowed down and jerky. Usually after ejecting the DVD and inserting it again it sorts the problem out. It used to not happen very often but for the last two days it has happened at least 5 times. It happened during a presentation once and I need this to work. Any advice please. I am worried it could be a hardware issue.

Green camera light stays on iMessage on Mac

I have multiple user accounts set up on my Mac. On one of our accounts, when iMessage is turned on, the green camera light automatically comes on. I do not want the camera enabled due to this being a child's account. The strange thing is the green light does NOT come on for the other accounts.
Please advise...

It sounds like the Preferences are a window that is open and that it is set to the Video/Audio pane as this will "open" the camera each time the App is started.

Hello, I have HP ENVY 14t-1100 CTO Beats Edition, unfortunately I connected speakers to the laptop and suddenly the laptop started giving weird sound, so i restarted the pc, then I came to know that the speakers are no more working Even I checked with headphones no use..with headphones i can hear some noise..do I have solution? I'm sorry you are having trouble with the sound on your notebook. Take a look at this document, which provides steps to take when having sound problems with external speakers and headsets. If the first document doesn't help resolve your issue, take a look at this document, which may have a couple more things you can try. Hopefully, you won't even need the 2nd document.
I was listening to one of my favorite bands when I pulled up your posts - SAGA. Even though they are from Canada, they are very popular in Germany! The specific show I was listening to, was performed in Westfalenhalle Dortmund.
