  • Creative camera not detected error...

Ok, I have a creative webcam pro. Not ex, just the Pro.
I got it like last year and it was working fine. But up until two months ago my computer crashed and I had to reformat and all that good stuff...
Now I put in the cd and install it. I plug in the camera and it says creative camera not detected. For some reason my computer installed the cam as "Dual mode usb camera plus"
So after that I uninstalled everything and this time it installed the camera correctly. But I still get the error. So I uninstalled, yadda yadda. I can't get this thing to work! It worked before my computer crashed, so I dont see why it doesnt work now?
    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks.

I have exactly the same problem - exactly as you state!
The only this I noticed was that when I tried to install updates from the Creative support pages was that a message came up saying that couldn't uninstall older version and asked if I wanted to continue anyway. This is driving me insane too!
Can anyone help out here - I am running Windows XP Home Media Center (which is a pile of pants too!)

  • Camera not detected

When I connect my iphone to my PC, i get a message "Camera not Detected - check connecting cable and retry" My itunes does not automatically load up. I have to do it manually.
I then synchronize photos on to my PC. It creates a folder called "iPod Photo Cache" with many subfolders beneath it. There is a file called "Photo Database" but no jpeg files. I do not know what software to use to view the pictures. Is it because the camera is not detected that I am not able to download pictures taken on the ipod as jpeg files to be viewed on my pc?

rebooting phone did not solve problem.
I kinda of solved my problem by going to Start, Accessories, and Scanner and Camera Wizard. Doing this i can get my iphone pictures. Even though they are not of order and rotated in all different manners. I have to go through this procedure each time I connect my cable.

If the problem is only with Google Hangout, take a look at FaceTime Camera not detected @ Google Hangout with OS X Mavericks 10.9 - Google Groups.  You may need to wait for a google update or contact Google Support.
If ithe trouble is with other apps, too, see Apple's http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090
(Over time, Apple has changed the built-in camera's name on newer Macs from "iSight" to "FaceTime" and then to "FaceTime HD."  Regardless of the name of your Mac's built-in camera, the same info and troubleshooting applies.)

  • My MacBook Pro says camera not detected when I adjust my screen!

i have had my macbook pro for about a year now and sometimes when i am using facetime and adjust my screen my picture will freeze and when i restart the program it will say camera not detected. why does this keep happening and should i take it to a store to get checked out, is this fixable? help!

Sounds like a cable has slipped out of a connector, seeing as they go from "under the keyboard" and up by the display. You should get it checked out. I had a similar problem, but then it was my display that went to sleep when in 45°. I fixed it by just closing and opening the screen all the way a few times. Tried that?

  • Intermittent "Camera not Detected" with D90 and Windows 7

I just installed and set up LIghtroom 4 on a Windows7 PC. We are having intermittent problems shooting tethered with a Nikon D90. We have successfully been able to tether the D90 to and capture images in Lightroom. But now we are frequently receiving the "Camera not Detected" indicator in the tethered capture window.
It seems that Windows 7 is taking control of the camera away from Lightroom. Is that possible? Is there some setting in Lightroom to override Windows?

it has to be plugged into the machine before you power on the machine, it is not hot swapable like on OSX
does the screen work in OSX

  • I keep getting "camera not detected" every time I tried to download photos from my Powershot SD1000?

I keep getting "camera not detected" every time I tried to download photos from my Powershot SD1000? I tried different USB cables and still didn't work,

    Hi garyliban!
Please ensure that your camera's software is up to date.  The older versions that came with your camera were out long before Windows 8, so they need to be updated to be able to work with Windows 8.  Please click here to go to the download page.

  • Video Camera not detected through Firewire

I've been having trouble connecting my video camera to my computer for importing video into Final Cut.
After some deduction, my main conclusion/concern is that when I hook up my Canon minidv camera to the computer via firewire 400, it fails to show up in the system profiler under hardware>firewire.
I first tried all sorts of hookup sequences (involving turning off/on cpu, off/on camera, off/on program, and plugging firewire at certain times) No luck. Final Cut could not detect camera.
Secondly, tried the same thing with iMovie, but same result.
Thirdly, I bought a new firewire cable. Still didn't work.
Then, I switched my Canon with my friend's Sony video cam. Same result.
What's confusing is my Mac Pro's firewire 400 port works. I connect a Maxtor external hard drive, it is recognized, and it mounts all the time without a problem (I can also see the drive's info through system profiler.) However, when I connect my camera to the comp, and open system profiler's firewire status, I get the spinning wheel for a bit, then it says "Warning: Unable to list FireWire devices." Sometimes I don't even get that message, and system profiler just stays the same saying "FireWire Bus>Built in Hub" as if nothing is connected at all.
I also tried daisy-chaining the camera through the recognized external hd to the comp. Though, when I attempted to check the status in system profiler, the computer froze and I had to hard shutdown. Not good.
I've attempted all I can think of. Any help and suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

is the camera on apple's "approved" list? I forget where to find it but there is or was such a list. do you have any other fw devices connected? for whatever reasons, often cameras must be the only fw device connected. My first attempt would be to turn on the device and connect it with no other fw devices connected. If it did not work, I would begin my standard hardware trouble shooting which consists of booting from my clean system hd that I normally keep on a shelf. It is an HD image of my system as it came from Apple. In your case I'd get an HD and install a clean 10.4 on the HD (without updates) and try connecting after that. IF 10.4 works you could try updating to 10.4.11 and so forth. Doing this process requires two drives so you can keep a good working boot drive while continuing to update till there is a problem. This supposes it's a software issue. Doing some searching on your camera make/model and cross referencing with apple and firewire should give you an idea as to whether others are having trouble and whether it's a common problem or a software issue. If others are having no issues then hopefully it's software. Another option would be to get a deck. I use a basic dv deck and you might want to go that route too. it's a much better thing in the long run anyway and if you can afford it and can find a known-good deck it would save a lot of trouble shooting time and hassle. obviously get one you can return if it doesn't connect.

  • HT6114 Camera not detected on Macbook Pro OS X 10.9.2

Please help. The camera is not detected in any of the apps like Facetime, Photo Booth, Skype..
I'm not sure if this has stopped after the current security update.

I updated to Yosemite yesterday and since then, I get an error that says "There is no connected camera."  Don't know what else to do to fix it.  Help!!!

  • Cameras Not Detected

I have an iMac G5 running 10.5.8 and an Intel MacBook Pro running OS 10.6.4. Suddenly, neither of these machines will recognize either of my digital cameras (Canon Rebel XSI and a Vivitar Vivicam X029). Both of these cameras were loading fine on both machines before. I have no idea what has changed in the systems, as I have not installed anything in months except for system updates from Apple.
Here's what I've done thus far on both computers:
    1) Shutdown, restart, and try again.
    2) Repair disk permissions. Restart. Try again.
    3) Connect cameras and check System Profiler to see if they appear on the USB Hub. They do not.
    4) Check Image Capture to see if the cameras are detected there. They are not.
This is such a simple, basic element of OSX that I have no clue what to do from here to fix this. Please advise.
    Thanks!
    J

Typically this is one of two reasons - the camera has had a mode changed - some cameras have several connect modes and if that is changed they do not connect
Another is the card format becoming corrupted - to fix this you must use the camera to reformat the card
the Mac is looking for a FAT32 formatted drive which is how camera cards are formatted

  • Macbook air camera not detected

The built in camera suddenly stopped working. Its detected in the system profiler but when opening image capture, it says its not detected.
For photo booth you simply have a black screen. Been told that re-install the operating system but will this wipe everything? Help!

    Just try rebooting.
If that doesn't work try smc and pram reset.

  • ENVY 2 Camera not detectable

The Internal Cameras in my HP ENVY 2 are not being dected.  Used to work then the back facing camera became degraded and now both front facing & back cameras have quit functioning and their programs/drivers are not visible anywhere.
This seems to be a common problem in HP computers -- I see a lot posts about cameras are not detectable but no solutions.  I also see a lot of complaints about HP Support for the issue being none existent.  This is the last HP computer I will buy -- there is a reason that they are cheap.

Here is how I solved the problem:

You're not tried "... contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service."
    An AASP can fix it.
