Camera operation?

Yea I just had a quick question about the built in camera on the S10-t3 ideapad. Is there software already installed from the factory that allows you to record video or take a picture straight from the built in camera that saves to the computer? The quick  notes in the Lenovo natural touch program allow you to record video or sound, but I cant find a way to save it to someplace accessable on the computer. The windows live movie maker allows you to edit movies already saved on the computer, but not record. If there isn't such software already installed, where can I find a program that allows me to take a picture and record a video with the built in camera whenever I feel like it instead of having to open skype or youtube?

Hi again,
no ...but you can download Lenovo Easy Capture Windows 7 and install ..

  • What techniques could be used to remove this camera operator reflection?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvEq-kJufNI&feature=youtu.be
An important note: The clip will become black and white in the final movie.
    Thank you.

I would trim the shot to just the footage necessary to tell the story first because this is going to be tough. The worst parts are where the guy in the dark blue suit provides a background for the reflection just as the door closes.
Here's how I would approach the fix. Photoshop's healing brush is probably the best tool for generating a clean plate I would try painting a frame at a time in Photoshop being as careful as you can to remove just enough to break up the reflection instead of completely remove it. The dirty window is your friend here. Here is a side by side comparison I did of a screen grab in Photoshop that took only 5 strokes with the healing brush. The closing door should hide the flicker completely if you don't get too aggressive and you remember what you were painting.
Retouch just enough frames to cover the worst of it.
Check playback to make sure that you are not introducing flicker that is worse than the original problem.
When the door closes and the reflection is pretty much hidden stop. Back in AE take a close look at the shot and in the few remaining places that movement by the camera operator give him away ADD some grunge to the shot that can be faded in and out slowly to hide it just to cover the telltale movement.
You've got to remember that the audience isn't going to be scrutinizing every frame and that hiding only the give away parts and throwing in a little extra grunge is the best way to handle this problem.

  • Cold Weather Camera Operation

I will be shooting some outdoor stuff and the weather will most likely drop below 40 degrees.
Does anyone have a specific preparations they would recommend for camera protection? I know cold weather affects battery capacity, so I usually attach heat pads to them. (the kind you put in your gloves or shoes)
But I've never done anything special for the camera itself. I did in fact RTFM, the operating temperature for the camera is listed as 32 degrees.

Many years ago I shot a doco climbing in the Himalaya, temperatures dropped to minus 35C, we shot Super 8 film with Canon 1014XLS cameras.
I overcame the cold battery problem by attaching the batteries inside my jacket and running a cable down my right arm sleeve and into the external power socket of the camera. To protect the cameras from the elements and keep them from getting too cold I made neoprene covers. This was fairly easy as joins are just glued together with a special glue. This also prevented the metal camera body freezing to my face (well all except one time when I was in a hurry and new it was my last load. The condensation from my breath froze the camera to my face, very painful removal!)
You'll also need to take care with fogging viewfinders, be careful not breath onto the viewfinder lens and maybe use an anti fog solution on the viewfinder lens too.
Next most important thing was gloves. I used three layers. Closest to skin I used a pair of silk inners, over these a lght weight synthetic fibre pair and above that an insulated Goretex glove. This enabled me to remove layers to perform more fiddly tasks when necessary. Make sure you have a protective U/V filter on the camera and plenty of lens cleaning equipment. A soft chamois and high quality lens cleaning cloth are best or you'll go through a lot of tissues in wet conditions.
At night store the equipment in a dry environment of similar temperature to what you'll shooting in. Do not lock the equipment in it's cases as it could sweat if it's been used in damp conditions during the day.
Most high end video gear is specified to function in temperatures as low as -40c but I don't know how well the tape cassettes perform. I do know we snapped the film a few times in the Super 8 cartridges we were using, this was due to how brittle the celluloid became a such extreme temperatures not the cartridge mechanism itself.

  • 6280 videos freeze camera operation failed camera ...

Noticed a couple of other threads similar but does anyone have any fixing suggestions ?
Phone has worked fine for a couple of months but now if I try to playback a video the phone freezes then sort of re-boots after about 10 secs. Also if I try to switch camera on, phone freezes again for a bout 10 secs, then 'operation failed' is displayed, then screen shows 'camera in standby' and the only next move is to exit.

For Nokia to take a look into it they need to know about it.
I would suggest going back to the repair centre and telling them that the FW update has not resolved it. Maybe there is a higher level repair centre they can send it to.

  • 5d3 camera operation/workflow while shooting?

I want to shoot landscapes and general shots using back-button focus and manually selection focus points. Is there a tutorial that describes a workflow, pre-shoot thoughts, then camera setup and finally actual button pushing order for
the 5d3 with a 24-70 lens? I am finding the camera and its controls a bit confusing at times. Any thoughts on getting
my great tool under control? Thanks in advance.

For what it's worth I have seen this going back a loooong time.  I've posted on the subject as well and have never gotten a solid answer.  It just appears as though Photoshop considers it "already open, so no need to open it twice".  I believe an uninitialized variable could be involved, since it's intermittent.
I have found a couple of choices for workarounds or workflow changes...
    1.  You can save the first-opened document opened (e.g., as  a .PSD) somewhere.  Then reopening the raw file will always open a second document.
    2.  You could consider opening the raw file just once, duplicating it as a second layer, then use Camera Raw as a filter.  Obviously that doesn't avail Camera Raw of the raw data, but its usefulness depends on what you're trying to accomplish.

  • I phone camera is not working after the update

I have an iPhone 4S 16 GB, It worked perfectly under iOS 7.1.2. . . I upgraded the OS to iOS 8.0.2 about two weeks ago. ( Bad Move )
I noticed right off that my device was running a little slower, lagging, and worst of all my "Camera"  App does not have an image At All ! ! !
The Flash options, HDR options, Timer options, will switch back and forth, but that is all that works, none of the bottom selections work at all,
and when you hit the front/back camera icon, it freezes /locks the options that did work. I have done a deep restore twice on the device,
restored as New Device, still no change at all on the behavior of the Camera operation. One thing I did find out though, it is a Glitch in the iOS
software, pertaining to the Cameras Operation, reason being, is that I can go into the preinstalled Game Center App on the iOS 8, click on Add Photo,
click on Take Photo, and there are my cameras, working perfectly, front & back. I have done a lot of research on this issue over the past two weeks,
Reading Apple's own Compatibility Devices which start at iPhone 4S and later for the iOS 8.0.2, But, If you go into the iPhone iOS 8.0.2 Operators Manual, go to camera section, you will see that there are several of the New functions of the Camera that are only compatible with iPhone 5 and later. Leaving the iPhone 4S not capable of executing the full capabilities of the New Camera App. I've chatted with Apple Online Chat Support for several hours two days ago, the only resolve they had was to send the device in or take it to an Apple Store and they would correct that issue "Free of Charge", even though ,my iPhone is 3 years out of warranty, because it is a Software related issue.... All I wanted to do is find a way to revert back to iOS 7.1.2, I found out very quickly, that is Impossible to do, because it violates Security Issues and Apples Terms of Agreement," Leaving them Not Responsible for any issues what so ever that occurs to your device downloading the iOS 8.0.2. . Which in my opinion, is pretty messed up. . What is the Big Deal of reverting back to any iOS you want, Apple should support every iOS version they have, not the users fault that a New iOS does not work right on their device, slowing it down, etc...I run Windows 7 on my PC, I can revert back to any OS I want, no problem at all.. . Anyways, back to iPhone issues, The other issues I got with the upgrade is that, My device will not power back on after I power it off now, I have to do a reset to get it to booted back up and running, and when I do so, there is a white halo that appears on my screen for several hours, then it will finally dissipate (no idea what that's all about), , Also, the battery life is much shorter now, had much better battery time on iOS 7.1.2 . . . Apple Support said that my Case was the first they have heard of, which surprised me.

Is anyone having a solution for this????? don't say that to sell the phone or upgrade it to the next version? I want to use this phone as it was a last gift given by one important person in my life and can't throw it away, please give me a solution.

I'm not quite clear on how your phone is working right now. I also don't know what "every possible thing" means so here is what you can do to troubleshoot software issues yourself. To be safe do a backup before doing anything.
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support
Get help with the camera on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Just so you are aware, now that you've had a local hardware person repair the phone you no longer have any warranty or service support from Apple. Good luck.

  • Camera on my blackberry won't open

Hi. I need help. The camera on my blackberry won't open.  It says "Could not start the camera.  Close other applications and try opening the camera again."  I have already closed the applications, tried to reset the settings, remove battery but still the camera won't open.

I've had a nokia as my primary phone for the better part of a decade and the E71x is my first smart phone.  I've only had it a matter of days, but I've found the same problems with the camera as described above.  I've found two ways to fix/avoid the problem.
First: Just turn the phone off and restart.  In other words, all applications using the camera are terminated.
Second:  This is where I believe the problem is.  The phone was designed to multitask.  If you hold the home (house button) down you can toggle between open applications.  This is much like holding alt and pushing the tab button on a standard windows pc.  The inherent problem is that the camera function WHEN CLOSED IMPROPERLY is no longer accessible or recognized by the firmware.  In other words, if you just push the red/'end call' button to exit your camera session you will run into this problem.  The SOLUTION is that you MUST exit the camera operation EACH TIME.  Note:  If you start using your 'multitask' button you will find how this applies to all the programs we're used to on nokia phones.  So, as annoying as it is, while you are in the OPERATIONAL camera mode, push your soft left button (topmost left) to access the options menu.  Select your options and scroll to exit.  If you EXIT THE CAMERA MODE PROPERLY the phone will no longer consider it a running program.  THIS IS A GLITCH.  In the end it is a good habit to terminate programs that are not in use, but the problem with the camera access is testiment to firmware problems that we are more than likely not going to see a fix for.  This is a good phone and I've never been unsatisfied with owning a nokia, but this particular problem seems like an oversight in firmware.  With proper application closing in mind, you should never run into any major problems with this phone.  But like I've said, I've only had it a matter of days.

  • Cameras and Formats

I know this is not strictly a discussion group for Cameras and Formats so I apolgise in advance for posting, but my options for advice are drying up and I figure that subscribers of the Final Cut Pro group will perhaps be able to assist.
We're a music services company based here in Egypt. We're starting to get into multimedia as we have a nice pro recording facility. We've been asked to produce some web videos/short corporates for companies based here.
At the time of writing we are looking to buy a camera in the UK in the next 2 weeks to bring over to Egypt. Ideally we want a 3CCD/CMOS 'prosumer' camera and have spent the last few months researching our options - like one should before you spend money you don't have, for a camera you don't really need, for work you probably won't get!
So for around the £2k mark, we've narrowed it down to either a used Sony Z1E (with around 400 drum hours), a new sony V1E or a Panasonic AVCHD camera such as the AG-HMC71 or AG-HMC41.
Now we're stuck. As there are pros and cons for all of the above cameras and we literally cannot afford to spend more to move a step up in order to get a camera that would do the lot.
We've heard that AVCHD workflow is the way to go...but that it's hard on the NLEs. Then there's the Z1E, which is industry standard pretty much...and then the V1E is light, shoots great HD picture but has some wierd shutter thing and also the zoom stutters apparently...?
Can anybody help us with this decision?
    Thanks.
    Craig

Sorry Andy. New to this forum stuff.
Here's my set up for our audio/visual work:
    IMAC 24 /2.93/4GB/640/256/SD/MSE/KB-GBR
iMac has Logic Pro / Sound track pro / FCE soon to be upgraded to FCP and is dedicated to a/v work.
Not sure this is relevent to camera operation and NLE work but we also have a Firewire MOTO audio interface and Euphonix Digital mixers attached to this iMac via Ethernet for automated audio mixing in Logic Pro. A firewire Lacie external drive is also in use.
    Hope this helps?
    Thanks

  • N97 and N85 Camera mechanism malfunction from magn...

    Hello all,
I'm new here and the reason that registered is to tell to you about thing that i discovered yesterday.
So if you have N97 and use a pouch to carry it on your belt, you may be aware that in case the pouch
closed by the built-in magnets, the magnets will operate the camera mechanism even if the phone is locked.
As soon as i discovered it on my new Nokia N97, i picked up from my memory that my fiernd who owns
the Nokia N85, complaned in the past about unwanted front camera operation. We made the test on the N85
and found the same as on N97 - even when the phone is locked, the front camers starts operation from the
magnets proximity. And its the magnets in the standard cell-phone pouch. I bought my Nokia N97 few days
ago at the Orange provider store together with the pouch. My N97's locker side swich is already doesnt operate
well becase of the magnets of the pouch. Since the pouch was recomened by Orange and sold in the Orange
office, i asked today the Orange to exchange my N97 by new one.
The problem of the sensitivity to the magnets in pouch: the front camera operates and some times even records.
So the battery of the phone and memory are becoming empty much faster than expected.
So take care guys - buy only non-magnetic locking pouch!
    Best regards!

Guys, i've been told by Orange that they will replace my phone since te magnets of the pouch screwed up the sensors...

  • How do I turn off the camera lights when recording a video with the Android Turbo?

I want to use the Andriod Turbo camera video function in ambient lighting using the forward lens.  But when I start recording both lights stay on.  I can video with ambient using the look back lens.  Not as good a quality and harder to aim.
Is there a setting that can turn off the lights until I want them?  How is it done?
    Thanks for the help.

Thank You!  Problem solved.  I am a new user to 'smart phones' and my original question probably should have been "How Do I Find The Camera Settings Menu?"
It wasn't obvious, but your reply got me searching again.  I found that if you drag your finger from the left side of the screen to the center the semi-circular menu appears on the left.  There I found the light control and other options.
I didn't know it existed and the manufacturer's manual that came with the phone gave no instructions on the camera operation.
abcdefg4, your comment helped me search a little harder.  Thank you again.

  • Can't Own a Camera Phone

I work in the Government sector and am not allowed to have a camera or camera phone at work. Has anyone heard if Apple has plans on manufacturing the same IPhone sans the camera? AT&T, Verizon, etc. currently do this with other popular phones models, such as some of their Blackberry's and the Palm Treo's.
If a IPhone without camera installed is not forthcoming, does anyone know if the camera can be tenporarily or permanently disabled?

It isn't AT&T or Verizon that do this - it is the cell phone manufacturer that offers a non-camera model which the cellular provider decides to carry.
No one here knows if Apple has such plans but IMO I think this is very doubtful.
I recall a thread here a while back regarding this very thing. Are you saying you would be able to present the iPhone at the security desk each day or each time when entering the building demonstrating that the camera function has been disabled - permanently or temporarily? If temporarily would be acceptable, how about a case that completely covers the small camera lens located on the back side of the iPhone?
Disabling the camera function itself would require hacking the iPhone to remove the camera operation.

  • Camera file for Duncan Tech RH1100 mono

    Hi.
I'm trying to acquire images from a Duncan Tech RH 1100 mono camera with a PCI 1428 board, but I have not the camera file. Does anyone have a camera file for the Duncan Tech RH1100 mono or Has anyone produced a suitable icd file that they'd be willing to share?
I've tried searching this forum, the NI camera file  and the NI industrial camera advisor with no luck. I realize I can use NI's camera file generator to make one myself, but I don't have experience to know if I could generate an icd file that truly has all the features of the camera enabled for MAX and LV.
    Thanks, Marisol

    Hi Fraktur!!
I have been working with the camera RH1100, I got the camera manual and the DTControl-FG Ducncanthech’s software. The DTControl-FG can control of some camera operating parameters as gain for each imaging channel, exposure time, integration time, bit depth, etc.; all this functions are controlled by the serial port, according to the manual it’s possible acquire and archive images up to three remote imaging heads through frame grabber NI PCI-1428 only using the DTControl-FG  software.
Knowing this I connected the camera control unit RH1100 both serial port and PCI-1428 frame grabber, then I install and start the DTControl-FG software.  The software should be automatically detect the serial port to which the camera is connected and the frame grabber (NI PCI-1428) link but only detected me the serial port connection and displays an error message when it trying to detect the PCI-1428 (this message reads: “No Frame Grabber link Found” …… I attached you the screenshot).  Due this I can’t acquire images and the software only let me configure certain camera output parameters… I changed the bit depth to 8 bits.
I tried to test the camera using MAX and the camera file that you sent me (but using this time 8 bitdepth) and I can get images but only one of the imaging head . I need using three heads.
Do You use DTControl-FG software to configure your camera?, Detects your framegrabber?, I think it's a communication problem between the software and the camera link but I do not know how to fix it. I have tried to install the DTControlFG in the same folder as the NI-IMAQ, in the National Instruments folder,  in the file folder cameras, etc. I do not what else to do, any suggestions?

  • Graphite ibook and D-Link Security Camera

    Hi
I'd like to connect a security camera to my graphite ibook G3, 366 MHz.
I've networked the camera to the computer.
I cannot get a video image when I access the camera's ip address, whether with JAVA or Active-X.  I tried Safari and Firefox.

I'd rather use an older ibook that will be my stand-alone unit for the camera.  I need to keep this camera separate from my network.
