Camera orientation

When I try to take a picture the camera is inverse and takes pictures upside down. Also, camera does not rotate as I rotate the iphone.

The camera is not supposed to rotate as you rotate the iPhone. You can always rotate the image on your computer later.

    i look for a way to setting the camera orientation.
    If i get the camera , and attach it to a video, the camera is always on landscape orientation. If i try to rotate the video to have a pseudo portrait orientation, nothing appear on the video.

    Not that I know, Lars.  FT is not scriptable, and its preferences file does not allow storing default orientation.

    Even if I could find or write some Automator, AppleScript, or Terminal method to change orientation, I cannot imagine any that would be easier to execute than the "⌘R" that changes FaceTime's orientation to Landscape once a FaceTime connection is made.
    You may want to join me and send your specific suggestion for this directly to Apple.  Use  Apple - Mac OS X - Feedback.  You are unlikely to get a response, but you can be certain that the responsible Apple people will see your input for consideration in the FaceTime product development process.

  • Camera orientation (issue) while the orientation is fixed

    Hi!
    Iam using iphone 4, and i found a very nasty thing, i dont know its an "issue" or just a logical bumping, anyway its very annoying.
    While the portrait orientation is fixed, the camera orientation is going to be fixed aswell, but of course most of the people are turning while shooting (especially video) by 90 degrees, and because of the fixed orientation, the created video is going to be disoriented.
    So i think the camera has to be excludes from the "globalized" orientation fixing, even its locked too. And of course after a wrong shooting, there is no way to fix this on the phone directly..
    Any tips, or advice ?

  • Camera Orientation issue in landscape mode application

    Hello Team,
    I have developed one application and it is totally in landscape mode. I have one problem with opening camera in landscape mode. I have given only one orientation support "Landscape-Right" in .plist file . So that when i click Record button in my application at that time application crash and it gives me an error
    'Supported orientations has no common orientation with the application, and shouldAutorotate is returning YES'
    I have also read that iPhone support only Portrait mode for opening camera . In my application i have forcefully changed it to landscape using custom overlayview.
    Anyone have any idea regardig this?

    Please ignore, I have finally found the problem.
    I was initializing the UIView in my ViewController with the CGRect defined when in Portrait (bounds). So when I turned the device to go into landscape it was still using a portrait frame.
    I'm now initializing the UIView with: CGRect appFrameLandscape = CGRectMake(0, 0, 480, 320);

    I know that the camera on some Pearl models is horizontal, and other models have a vertical camera.  I'm looking at buying a case for my phone (Pearl 8120) that lumps the 8110, 8120, and 8130 all together, and has the 8100 separate.  I'm just trying to verify that the 8100 is the only model with a vertical camera, and the 8110, 8120, and 8130 all have the horizontal version.

    No. LR has its own version of Camera Raw built-in. It doesn't use the Photoshop plugin. LR2 effectively has 4.5 built-in.

    Capturing the photograph of a document in portrait mode but it appears in landscape in album. Why the pic is rotated? It should be in portrait if captured in portrait mode.

    If you capture it in portrait mode,you will get it landscaped. Not sure why sometimes it is upside down.  do you have any idea?

    I am building a camera app on Android using Adobe Air
    However, I can not change the orientation of the camera, which only works in landscape mode. My app works in portrait mode, and I'm not getting this to fit the camera orientation.
    Any help is welcome.

    I believe you are using a video element to render your camera stream. Could you please try rotating (using DisplayObject.rotation) the video element to get the desired orientation?

  • IPhone 4s Is Sending My Photos In The Wrong Orientation?

    O.K. I take the photo in landscape mode on the iPhone 4s.
    It then saves to my camera roll.  I email it to a few friends.
    Most of them get the photos upside down?
    I have no idea that I had to take the photos with a certain camera
    orientation in order for the images to be able to send in the proper orientation.
    Is this another iOS 5 bug?  I upgraded from the 3GS and this was not an issue.

  • Air 3.0 Android Front Cam upside-down

    Dear Adobe Community,
    I am working on an app where I grab the video from an android (2.3.3) device, and stream it to a recording video server. My app is written in AS3 with Flash Pro CS5.5, so I first publish that, then use the adt command line to compile using the Air 3.0rc SDK for a runtime bundled version. The rear camera works perfectly fine, meaning, when I hold the phone in landscape mode, video displayed in the video object is right side up, and when I hold the phone in portrait mode, the video on screen also turns, also right side up. When I switch to the front cam, however, the video displays fine on screen in landscape mode (right side up), but when I hold the phone in portrait mode, the video turns upside down. I tried flipping the video object vertically, which fixes the 'right side up' issue for the front cam in portrait mode, but all other positions turn upside down. Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue? I am using the 3.0 SDK release candidate version to compile.
    p.s. I have auto-rotate turned off, and position in portrait mode when I compile the apk. I tried swiching to landscape mode, but same result.
    Any help or hints are greatly appreciated.

    Hi bjsr12345,
    That was quite a long time back. Unfortunately, even today, if your target platform is below ICS (Android 4), that rear camera orientation issue is still present. You can adjust so that you flip the video object within your app if it's upside down (say, when you are recording a video and allowing the user to change between front and rear cams mid-stream), but there is no way to change the orientation of the video itself, sans adding some lines of code in a native Android code itself, not through Air.   • Placing images and ignore tiff orientation 1

    Is there a way to ignore tiff orientation in an images exif data when placing an image?
    I'm noticing that certain images when placed are automatically rotated.  When I view their thumbnails they are the correct orientation, but when they are placed in my ID document they are rotated 90deg.  The only exif data that looks like it could be affecting this is <tiff:Orientation>1</tiff:Orientation>.

    The solutions posted on the supplied link are the same as I have used to correct the issue on a case-by-case scenario.  Perhaps I should have stated all reasoning for disabling the camera's original orientation.  I have a plug-in that auto generates final pdfs based on an indesign document.  The plugin populates image fields with images specified by a csv files.  We have 50,000+ images and growing, and I have no knowledge of which images are going to be used for the final pdf, others are selecting the images.  In the image preview there is no indication of camera orientation that would alter the rotation once placed in the indesign document.
    My original question was if there was a way to ignore the orientation specified by an image, thus not needing to manually scan each pdf then fix the orientation issue and recreate the pdf.
    Any idea if there is a way to disable indesigns automatic camera orientation detection?

  • Camera zoom to certain spot

    Hello all I have a large image in in a smaller composition and I'm trying to zoom in on a certain spot but the camera zooms only on the center. I tried moving the anchor point but that didn't work. Is it possible to zoom in wherever you want to without position keyframes?

    If you're trying to animate the camera zoom control you have two options. First, have the camera orientation set to point of interest. Now the point of interest points to the center of the frame. Change the position of the point of interest and you change the framing of the zoom. It is difficult to see and animate this point. You can simplify the process by attaching the point of interest of the camera to a null using an expression. Simply hold down the Alt/option key and click the stopwatch variable for point of interest in the timeline and then drag the pickwhip to the position property of a 3D null.
    The second option is to have the camera orientation turned off and use the orientation or rotation controls to point the camera where you want it to look.
    Neither of these options is as easy as simply animating the position of the camera. Information on basic expressions, camera orientation and animating in 3D space is in the help files.

  • Programati​cally reset camera orientatio​n for 3D picture control

    Does anyone know how to programatically reset or control the camera orientation for the 3D camera control/indicator.
    I'm trying to play back some motion data that I've gathered on a boat and I'd like to be be able to accuratley control the orientation of the camera (ie more then just by using the spherical camera controller)

    Picture Control in LabVIEW 8.20, has tons of functionality even though only the
    most common features are exposed through the VIs
    in the palette. The functionality of controlling the camera programmatically is
    accessible through the "Setup Camera" method for the 3D Picture Control window/indicator:

  • I have just bought a 5D Mark III and have a questions on sports settings.

    I am shooting at my sons rugby game and sports day in the coming weeks and would like to make sure my camera is set up correctly. I am using a 70-200 mm lens 2.8 with 2x converter, ( so goes to 5.6 when using). 
    - I am shooting Al Servo
    - evaluative metering
    - shutter above 1000
    - custom controls - shutter butt. half-press
                                - AF - ON
                                - AE - lock
                                - Lens - AF stop
    - Picture Stype - portrait
    AF settings 
    - Case 2 - continue to track subjects, ignoring possible obstacles
    - Al Servo 1st image priority
    - selectable AF point - 61 points
    - select AF area selec mode - all 6 boxes are checked..is this correct?
    - AF area selection method - main dial
    - orientation linked AF point - same for both vert/horiz
    - manual AF pt selec. pattern - continous
    - AF point display during focus - selected (constant)
    I really appreciate any help on these settings, I would like to get the settings correct and am feeling a bit clueless right now.

    I have a 5D III ... I don't shoot sports but I can offer some info.
    First and foremost... if you don't already have this (becuase it doesn't come with the camera), go to this page and in the lower left corner is a link to download the Canon guide-book on the AF system that your camera has.  It's a 47 page book on JUST using the focus system on your camera.  It says "1D X" but if you read the page you'll see that it was really intended for the 1D X and the 5D III.

    You want AI Servo -- since your subject distance may be changing and this provides for continuous focus.
    Evaluative metering is fine since this will evaluate all metering zones.
    Shutter above 1/1000th is also fine -- this will freeze action
    On the custom controls, each of the ten options will tell you what the camera will do when you press that control.  
    For example:  You might want to use "back button focus" behavior.  For this you would set the "Shutter button half-press" behavior to "Metering start" (not not AF), THEN set the "AF-ON" button to "Metering and AF start".  This way the camera will ONLY focus if you press the AF-ON button with your thumb.  
    All this is probably not necessary with the 5D III's focusing system because the whole point of you picking "Case 2: Continue to track subjects, ignoring possible obstacles" is that it eliminates the need to configure the camera for back-button focus.  It's one of the benefits of shooting with a 5D III or 1D X body.  With any other body... you'd configure back-button focus behavior.
    Your "AI Servo 1st image priority" and "AI Servo 2nd image priority" control whether the camera uses "focus priority" (wont shoot until focus is confirmed) or "release priority" (will shoot when you press the button whether it was focused or not) or a blending of the two.  The "AI Servo 2nd image priority" affects the behavior of all subsequent frames after the first frame when using continuous shooting mode.  
    Selectable AF point - 61 points means the camera is allowed to use ANY of the focus points to lock focus.  Keep in mind that the camera will gravitate to the nearest subject when using this mode.  If other players are closer than your son and you want to make sure the camera focuses on your son then you'd want to use a different focus mode to narrow the area where the camera looks for focus.  
    The "AF area select mode" doesn't affect shooting... when you decide to change focus modes, you can switch off certain focus modes you don't ever think you'd use.  For example... if you have two favorite modes and you just want to swtich between them quickly, you can turn the other modes off.  That way you don't have to keep pusing the button to change focus modes until the mode you want appears (because each time you push the mode change button it cycles to the next mode.)
    AF area selection mode - main dial.  that just means when using a mode OTHER than the 61-point AF mode (where you just want to use some points) the way you'll tell the camera WHICH points you want to use is by turning the wheel.  I use use the 8-way navigator on the back). 
    Orientation linked AF means that if you tell the camera you want to pick some focus points in, say... the "upper right" corner and you are holding the camera level (horizontally)... what should it do when you turn the camera on it's side?  If the orientation is NOT linked, then the points you pick are the points you pick regardless of the camera orientation.  If the orientation IS linked, then it means your selection of points in the "upper right corner" is will be maintained... so when you flip the camera on it's side, it'll automatically swtich AF points so that the poitns are STILL in the "upper right corner".
    The manual AF point selection pattern tells the camera if the focus points should "wrap around" when you keep navigating off the edge of the screen.  e.g. I use joystick... so this means that if I'm already on the right-most AF point... and I nudge the joystick right one more time ... it'll actually "wrap" back around to the left edge.  If I turn this off then when I hit the right edge and nudge to go right one more time nothing will happen (because I'm already as far to the right as it can go.)  
    Get out and practice with the AF system controls -- it takes a bit of learning but you'll find it's quite powerful and once you get the feel for it you will really appreciate having it.
