Camera profile issues with ACR 5.4

I run CS4 and in ACR my camera profile menu is no longer showing the normal drop down menu options (adobe standard, faithful, etc), and is only showing the options acr 4.4 and acr 3.3....I have had this software for 4 years and this has never happened before....anyone have any advice/ideas on why this all of the sudden changed?

Something uninstalled the external camera profiles, perhaps another Adobe product.
You can download a newer copy of ACR and have the profiles put back.  If your ACR plug-in is already updated to the latest version, then you can install the corresponding version of the DNG Converter and it also will put the profiles back in the place they need to be.
You can get ACR updates from http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates

  • Camera Profile missing in ACR 6.7 (PS CS5)

I have looked all over the place for a solution to this problem and so far can not find one.
    I am running Windows 7 64bit, PS CS5.
I just noticed that my Nikon D90 camera profile is missing under the Camera Callibration area in Camera Raw (it had been there before). The only thing that shows up is ACR 4.6:
I have tried reinstalling the ACR 6.7 plug in...didn't work.
I really don't want to try to uninstall and reinstall Photoshop.
Oh, I have also looked on my computer in my C drive and found the list of camer profiles...the D90 is not listed (in fact, there are only 8 Nikon cameras listed in my Adobe Standard folder).
One more thing...I had CS4 installed originally. I have since uninstalled it. I'm not sure if the issue I am having has to do with that or a recent update.
Adobe should really have a seperate file that you can unstall just for camera profiles.
Like I said I have searched all over and have not found anything...I am  really hoping there's someone on here that can tell me how to get my  camera profile in there.

    I recently installed Windows 8.
    1. Can I get a ACR profiles for my Canon 1Ds Mk lll and my Sony RX 100?
    2. Can I install the DNG Converter on Windows 8? This OS isn't listed as here as one of those suitable. > http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5389
    3. Noel, where are the equivalent locations on a Windows 8 machine? ProgramData doesn't exist, as far as I can see.
    Thanks.
    D.
    Edited:
Ok. I found another Adobe download that said Windows 8 is compatible, so I installed the DNG Converter.
However, no cameras are listed under Camera Profile in ACR.
This is the case whether I load a Canon RAW file or a DNG conversion of a Canon file.
Any idea how I can get the profiles to load?
    Thanks.

  • Lightroom 4.4 beta and Camera Profiles Issue

I'm testing Lightroom 4.4 beta and noticed that my D600 RAW files don't seem to be interpreted correctly when selecting camera profiles such as Camera Neutral or Camera Standard, etc. This becomes most obvious when processing higher ISO files. The only profile that seems to come the closest is Adobe Standard. I shoot in Camera Neutral. When I view them in Lightroom 4.4 and select camera neutral, the shadow areas especially seem overexposed. I don't remember having this issue in Lightroom 4.3. Will the final Lightroom 4.4 do a better job with camera profiles? I really hope Adobe works on this.

Here is Adobe Standard 100% crop, which looks closest to the View NX 2 rendition shadow-definition-wise, but not so much color-wise:
Here is a 100% crop of Camera Neutral preset, where shadows look like they've been pushed, but they haven't.
Here is the way View NX 2 renders this file, but unfortunately I had noise reduction turned to "normal" in-camera and View NX 2 won't let me turn that off to view the clean RAW file. I don't have CNX 2, which would have allowed me to turn off the noise reduction. Still this illustrates a difference between shadow definition and color brightness difference:
This is the full photo so you can see the lighting circumstances:
Maybe I expect too much. I don't know. Let me know what you guys think.

  • Issues with ACR 4.3.1 and Loepard?

I just did a clean install of Leopard last night and re installed all of my apps. I updated Leopard to 10.5.2 and made sure that I update ACR to 4.3.1. I am having an issue with a raw file from a Phase One P45 back. Normally when I open these files in ACR the default size is 39.3mp. Today when I opened up one of these raw files it's showing that it is 0.8mp. The checked the size of the file and it is 37.8mb's. I opened up another file and that one opened up as it should in ACR, 39.3mp. I tried opening up the same file on another one of my machines an it opened up fine. I have also had to for quit ACR three times and had it crash on me when trying to save some ACR settings. I tried trashing the preferences and repairing disc permissions and I am still having issues. Any ideas?

I'm getting the same problem. Thought I was going nuts! Photoshop CS3, Camera Raw 4.3.1, Leopard 10.5.2. RAW pics from a Sony Alpha 100 at 10.2mp. When I open in Camera Raw (Photoshop CS3) it reports only 1.6mp!! Open the same RAW file on the same OS but under Photoshop CS2 and it reports 10.2mp. What gives?????

  • Why are there only three camera profiles listed in ACR?

I shoot with a Nikon D200 and shoot in RAW and have seen a tutorial or workshop where under the camera calibration tab, they have all different kinds of camera profiles like Camera vivid, or portrait or landscape or neutral etc.  Well when I go into mine, there is just ACR and one other one.  How come I dont have those other camera profiles so that I may get that jpeg processed look if I need to?  Please help, I've been through all the preferences and everything, so I appreciate everyone.  Thanks!
    Nate

Looking on my Vista machine, which has Photoshop CS4/ACR 5.5, LR 2.5 and LR 3.0 on it, I see all the D200 profiles.  Check to see if you have them or not:
    C:\Users\All Users\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\Camera\Nikon D200
    10/08/2009  02:49 PM           112,134 Nikon D200 Camera D2X Mode 1.dcp
    10/08/2009  02:49 PM           112,134 Nikon D200 Camera D2X Mode 2.dcp
    10/08/2009  02:49 PM           112,134 Nikon D200 Camera D2X Mode 3.dcp
    10/08/2009  02:49 PM           112,134 Nikon D200 Camera Landscape.dcp
    10/08/2009  02:49 PM           112,132 Nikon D200 Camera Neutral.dcp
    10/08/2009  02:49 PM           112,132 Nikon D200 Camera Portrait.dcp
    10/08/2009  02:49 PM           112,132 Nikon D200 Camera Standard.dcp
    10/08/2009  02:49 PM           112,130 Nikon D200 Camera Vivid.dcp
You might just search your entire hard drive for D200.dcp and see if they are somewhere else.
If you can't find them, then there is a profile-installer executable that is part of the Photoshop Elements Camera RAW 5.5 Update zip that is linked from the camera-raw update page.

  • Camera RAW issues with Canon T4i

I have many, many cameras and have used Photoshop and Bridge for years.  Even though the latest updates for Camera RAW says it can handle the T4i, I tried opening these files on two separate computers, both running Win 7 64 bit, and my having Photoshop Extended 5+ 64 bit on both computers.
I tried reformatting the camera card, wanting to eliminate that as a possible problem, and the same problem exists.
Camera RAW will recognize all of my other cameras, the D Mark III, T3i, Nikon D2x, D3, D3X, so on and so forth, but not the T4i.
I stopped short of doing an image restore on that machine, thinking my installation of Photoshop must have been corrupted when I removed Elements and Preimere Elements, but no...I'm now on an IBM W701 with the same software and I have the same probem.
If someone from Adobe would like me to send them a file from the T4i, I will.  If I shoot in jpeg, there are no issues.  But I do not shoot in jpeg.  I only did it to see if perhaps it were the SD card.
    Any help would be appreciated.

With Photoshop CS5 (I think that's what you said) you no longer have access to the latest updates for Camera Raw.
Photoshop CS5 can only take up to Camera Raw 6.7 (latest version is 7.1, which goes with Photoshop CS6 only).
You'll either need to upgrade to Photoshop CS6 or download the free DNG converter and go through the extra step of converting your T4i images to DNG before opening them in Camera Raw 6.7.
You can see what versions of Camera Raw support what cameras here:

And you can see what versions of Camera Raw go with what versions of Photoshop here:

  • Camera Profiles gone in ACR 6.3 ?

I updated a few days ago from ACR  6.2 to 6.3.
In the Camera Calibration tab, the only profiles shown under "Camera Profile" are "ACR 4.4" & "ACR 4.3".
The profiles I had before ("Camera Landscape", "Camera Portrait"..) are not there anymore
How do I get those back for different bodies (Nikon D300, D700..° ?

FYI, I have 63 megabytes in 676 files under: C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles
Keep in mind the ProgramData root folder is usually hidden on a modern system, so you may have to type in the path in the Explorer address bar.

  • Color Profile issues with CS5

I´ve been having some issues with the color profiles since I´ve installed the CS5 on my laptop (Windows 7 ultimate).
To describe what I mean please see the images:
Every time I open Photoshop or Illustrator this message apppears:
so I hit ok, but I´m not sure if this affect the artworks that will be printed, I use the CMYK Mode but the colors does not match very well.
    Hope you can help me
    Thanks in advance,
    Diana.

You have some serious reading up on color management to do... I strongly suggest you sift through the Illustrator/InDesign/Photoshop forums and the web in general. Short version: Using RGB profiles makes no sense whatsoever if you are working in CMYK but in reverse working in CMYK does not make sense if you are only printing at home/ displaying graphics on your own computer. Anyway, this is an infinitely complex topic, so realyl, do some reading and then ask more specific questions in the program-centric forums...

  • Do ColorChecker Passport camera profiles move with the image?

Hi. I work in an office where 3 of us process DNGs into psd's. When using a colorchecker passport-made camera profile on User 1's mac, we then open the image on User 2's mac. If we look at the DNG in Camera RAW on User 2's mac, the camera profile User 1 chose is no longer listed in the camera calibration tab. Is this a problem? Does the info still hold in the DNG for User 2? Is the only solution to for User 2 to copy the profiles from User 1? Thanks, in advance, for your help!
    -Bret

Look in the Camera RAW preferences, and see if you have Save to XMP or Save to Camera RAW Database set for where to store settings, and also whether you have Update JPG Preview enabled or not for the DNGs in question on User1’s computer.  I don’t know if having both of these enabled would help store the profile for use on User2’s computer or not.

  • Location for custom camera profiles created with X-Rite software for ACR/LR5 CreativeCloud?

I created a profile for a specific shoot and have used it in CS6 version of Photoshop on an older MAC - now I want to use it on my new MAC with CreativeCloud installed -- can't figure out where to copy the file so it will show up in the Camera Calibration profile drop down list.
What do I need to do?  Thanks!

Yes, thank you, very helpful! ... I am able to see my custom profile in the DropDown list of Camera Calibration options in Camera Raw now.
One tricky part ... I am also new to the feature of the "hidden folders" in OS X Mavericks ... So, I realized I could installthe X-Rite DNG profile manager from the X-Rite support site and ask that utility to open the DNG Profile folder. That way, I could see the folder path referenced in the above KnoweldgeBase article was actually there on my hard drive. Then I was able to place a copy of my custom profile in the correct spot.
Here is info from Apple Support site about how to see the hidden folder:
"The Library folder contains files used by OS X and your apps, including your personal fonts and preferences. The Library folder is hidden. If you need to open it, make sure you are in the Finder, hold down the Option key, and then choose Go > Library."
    Cheers!

  • Colour (possibly profile) issues with certain objects

    Hi,
I'm trying to put together my folio but have run into a frustrating issue.
As the file is a web PDF, it's obviously RGB (sRGB to be specific). All of my swatches have RGB values, all of my links have embedded Adobe RGB (1998) or sRGB profiles.
The main issue is, a link on one page (PNG-24) shows correct colours, while on another it seems to be bluer in shadow tones. I found that what's causing it is any of my other objects that have blending modes activated:
Two different rectangles with RGB swatches, Multiply, 62% Transparency
Two identical JPG textures. One on background layer and one a top layer which is set to Color Burn
Once all of these are removed, the effected object returns to its correct tones, but if even one of the above objects returns anywhere to the spread, the colour goes off again. Similarly, if any of these objects are taken to another page, other swatches used (say a solid rectangle) are effected.
It's driving me insane and I've tried everything I know. Any ideas? I have a feeling this may have something to do with blending modes, but I just don't understand why it would.

    Yep, that was it
I knew it had to be something along those lines, but I honestly expected that sort of thing to be within Color Settings; maybe I should have just looked two menu items up
Thanks for the help. Seems it's getting harder and harder to find what you're looking for on Google these days when all you have is vague keywords... Yay SEO (sarcasm)

  • Camera importing  issues with leopard

i just upgraded to leopard- and i'm having troubles importing from either of my digital cameras-- it's always been so easy, just plug the camera (panasonic or canon) and iphoto would open and i'd say yes to import...
now with the panasonic i can import-- i see a volume mounted and can drag it to iphoto-- but i get several versions of each picture-- (and it's still not as smooth)
but with the canon (which is the primary camera in use) i can't do a thing-- the camera simply isn't recognized at all.....
since 80% of what i do with the computer is photo related, this is a huge ugly deal... i'm willing to dump the upgrade in order to have my camera functional again but i don't know if that's easy to do...
    any suggestions?

You're in the wrong forum -- this is for Mail and Address Book. Your issue is with iPhoto and/or your digital camera.
You need to close this topic and open a new one in the appropriate forum.

  • Windows 7 802.1x wifi profile issue with cached credentials

We have a wireless network that is setup as WPA2-Enterprise AES using 802.1x. We have a user that is constantly having his account locked out. When we trace where it's coming from, it's from our
radius server (which is only used for this one wireless network). We have already deleted the profile and recreated it. If we uncheck the option to remember the username/password, and enter that manually at prompt, it connects fine. As soon as we check that
option back, it fails and will keep failing and eventually lock out his acocunt. We have recreated his user profile and the wifi profile with no luck. I've done the following http://security.stackexchange.com/questions/15574/how-do-i-clear-cached-credentials-from-my-windows-profile
but to no avail. There are no credentials listed when I go this route. Can someone shed light as to where it is hiding these credentials?

    Hi
Maybe change settings on RADIUS server to allow more than 5 successive login attempts.
If you look at the windows security log on the radius server can you see if it giving errors of bad username or password?
Hope this helps. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

  • Multi-cam edit issues with multiple DSLR clips

    Hello,
Working in CC. I have 2 camera angles that were filmed with 2 DSLRs, and mic'd audio that was recorded into a Zoom H4N. Audio recording never stopped, but due to the nature of DSLRs, the 2 cameras would stop recording every 12 +/- minutes. In this end, I have:
    Camera 1 - 16 clips
    Camera 2 - 17 clips
    Zoom H4N - 1 track
When using the multi-cam source sequence option, it understandably thinks each clip is a new camera/angle. However, that's not very helpful for me when I have 17 angles (15 of which are blank) showing up in the program monitor. Any suggestions on how to better tackle this dilemma?
    Thank You.

Thanks, Mark. Appreciate the quick response. After messing around, I combined your method with PluralEyes (seemed less tedious that syncing 17 clips manually). There might be a faster/easier way, but this is what I did, in case any one is curious (sounds more tedious than it actual is):
    1. Select cam 1 clip 1, cam 2 clip 1 and external audio in the Browser.
    2. Left-click, "create Multi-Camera Source Sequence." Two angles and audio are now in a multi-cam sequence. Rename as Multicam_Source_Sequence
    3. Create new sequence, called Sequence_01 and open in timeline.
    3. Excluding cam 1 clip 1 and cam 2 clip 1, drag all remaining clips of cam 1 to V1, all remaining cam 2 clips to V2, and single external audio to A3 into Sequence_01 timeline.
    4. Launch Sequence_01 into PluralEyes 3. Sync and Export.
    5. Open PluralEyes' "Sequence_01_synced" (not "Sequence_01_synced Replaced") in timeline.
    6. Find a good marker point toward the beginning of the audio where it has synced cam 1 clip 2 and cam 2 clip 2. Cut at that point.
    7. Copy all video tracks (exclude audio tracks).
    8. Find Multicam_Source_Sequence and open in timeline (un-nested, so that all tracks are revealed).
    9. Manually find the same audio marker point where you cut in Sequence_01_synced. Place playhead directly at cut point.
    10. Paste video clips. All tracks are now synced in a multi-cam sequence.
From here, it's the usual steps for preparing multi-cam editing, like you mentioned.
    11. Create new sequence, called Multicam_Working_Sequence. Open in timeline.
    12. Make sure nesting button is turned on in timeline.
    13. Drag Multicam_Source_Sequence into Multicam_Working_Sequence.
    14. Right-click the nested sequence>Multi-Camera>Enable.
    15. Enable Multi-camera view in Program Monitor's panel menu.
Voila! Took me awhile, but this works. And no 17 angles popping up in the program monitor. Let me know if you'd add (or remove) anything. Thanks, again!
