Camera randomly moves forward then backward

Hey all,
I have a camera parented to a null that is being used for this shot. The camera zooms close to the planet very quickly, and then i wanted it to approach slowly (like a coming out of warp shot). Seems easy enough.. The camera slows down at Z position =40,000. The next keyframe is set to 41,000 so that it moves slowly forward . The problem is, the camera way overshoots the keyframe value then backs down to 41k. When i look at the graph i see that it curves up, but it does that on the first set of keyframes as well and the camera doesn't make any unwanted movements. Does anyone know what could be going on? The keyframes are easy-eased, but i tried turning that off and the camera still did this movement.

Take a look at the path of the null you're using to drive the camera in a top view. Select the G key to select the Pen tool. Take a close look at the middle keyframe. You'll see bezier handles extending past the last keyframe. Hold down the Alt/Option key on your keybard and click on the second keyframe in the Comp panel. You'll see the Bezier handles disappear. Your bounce is not gone.
The other option is to select the keyframe in the timeline, then right click, go to Keyframe Interpolation.
Set Spatial Interpolation to Linear.
Both do the same thing. I prefer the second Pen Tool>Convert Vertex method because I often want to adjust the Spatial interpolation, especially if there's a curve.
This happens when you have a layer moving quickly, then you move forward a few frames and move the layer a little further. If you set the starting and ending keyframe first, then back up and set the middle keyframe and adjust it's position in the comp window or the change the timing in the timeline, you almost never get this problem.

I am listening to embedded training files on the Quick Time player (I think). They cannot be copied to protect the information. You only have the option of listening. I used to be able to click on the Q in the audio strip and it would provide a diagonal arrow and this would allow me to expand the bar to a full screen. I then had the bar which would allow me to navigate in case I wanted to listen again or in case I wanted to move forward. After my upgrade, I can no longer expand the strip to a full screen with the adjuster. Now I have not chance to take a break in listening to these audios and most of them are at least an hour long. Thanks for your help.

Unable to manually move forward or backward on some podcasts

Some podcasts in iTunes 11.0.1 appear to have no way to move forward of backward. There's no diamond in the timed play slot. And when you stop such a podcast it automatically goes back to the beginning. Is this a bug, a flaw or am I missing something?

You MIGHT be able to go into the iPad's settings and block yahoo's access to the location services. I say might because I know you can have some control there but not sure if yahoo is respecting that or if it will override it.
You may have to finish the install to then see what location services controls can do for you, or at least finish the install before you uninstall it.
Contacting yahoo is one step, however if they treat app support like they do mail support, don't hold your breath waiting for a reply. You can also read through the reviews for the app, see if other people also have the same issue.
Personally? I'd dump the app and just use the iPad's mail app. It works fine with yahoo, and gives you a bit more control over what info yahoo can access (because I'm sure in addition to weather and news that info will also be used to serve you ads)

You have 24 hours to watch the movie. Kill the app by double tapping the home button and then holding down on any showing app then close the movie. Open it back up and resume it from where you left off. Should do the trick.

IPod: Randomly skipping forward and backward through songs

I purchased my iPhone almost 2 months ago and have been using the iPod almost every single day without any problems. The phone has the latest update (1.1.1). Yesterday I was listening to the iPod and a call came in; the music faded out, the persons picture came up on the screen, the phone started vibrating, but there was no sound and i could not answer the call. The phone froze in this position while constantly vibrating. I had to reset the phone (hold power and home button) to stop this. Now every time i try to listen to the iPod (regardless if i listen to an album or shuffle songs) it will make it about 20 seconds into the first song, randomly pause for 3 seconds, continue playing, pause again, continue playing, then skip to the next song, play for 2-3 seconds, skip back, play for a bit then skip to another song, pause, then continue playing... this process continues on forever and will not stop. I can temporarly relieve it by manually skipping through 6-7 songs but then it will eventually start back up again.
I have tried restarting the phone multiple times, powering it off, but it does not help... any ideas?

So i fixed my problem.
I tried restoring the software on the phone multiple times with no success. It was just restoring the phone with a previously corrupt back up file. So I went into the iPhone preferences in iTunes and erased all the backup files then restored it. This puts the phone back to how it was when you first bought it i.e. all presets reset: weather, stocks, etc. but if you have all your contacts saved on your computer they will sync right back in so it is not too bad. This fixed the problem (and even some other minor issues i was having).

MP4 file doesn't play immediately when I move forward or backward in Media Player

I have a problem with Media Player and I appreciate if someone could help me.
I have a project created in Adobe Premier CS5, all footage are 1920x1080 29.97 fps. After I done with editing I encoded with adobe encoder with the following details:
H.264
1280x720
29.97 fps
Level 3.2
AAC
Audio 192 kbps
VBR, 1 Pass
Target 4.00, Max 4.00 Mbps
Also selected Use Maximum Render Quality
I rendered the first half of the video and played it in Media player, when I move the file forward or back it takes almost 20 sec. to play again that part of the video. It plays fine with VLC player and Quick Time, but not media player. I tried another video from someone else and it doesn't have this problem with Media player, it plays fine when I move the video forward or back.
Could You please some one tell me what I am doing wrong? is my setting wrong? Unfrtunately I cannot ignore Media player and use another player because this file is for an online display which the browser is Media Player.

OK.
That doesn't necessarily eliminate the media player as the issue, though. I have files that play fine in Windows Media Player or VLC, but will not play correctly in my preferred KM Player. Their's nothing wrong with the files, it's just the player isn't designed to handle them.
So there may well be something different about this file, but not necesarily something wrong with the file. The issue could still be with the player. That the file works in two other players is pretty good evidence of that theory.

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

This sounds like a hardware issue. I haven't seen this particular problem reported before.

You'll want to read about the playback controls on page 21 of your iPod's User Guide, specifically the fast forward and rewind controls.

How do I "move forward" photos in a photobook (after removing a photo from being placed)

New to iphoto and Mac. I've created a Book from 3 projects. As I'm reviewing the photo book, there are photos I've decided I don't want and they have become Unplaced.
I'd like the remaining photos to be "moved forward" automatically - can this be done?
Same question when changing a layout from say 2 photos per page to 6 photos. All I end up with is a bunch of empty slots and I don't want to manually move forward a bunch of photos.
Any tutorials or resources you can suggest would be helpful. I've tried googling this problem, and am faced with too many answers about people and deleting the photo libraries etc.

I think what I'm looking/hoping for, is that iphoto could (at least in the beginning stages) "repaginate" my album if there are photos I want to remove. Just like when making a word document, when you delete some text, the rest of the text moves up and the document gets shorter.

there is no way to move photos forwards or backwards
so I created an album and iphoto slotted photos in there. On further review - there are certain photos I just don't want (i.e. not nice enough, detract from overall book etc.). If I remove something at the beginning, it's alot of manual work to move other photos forward.

The other situation is, when iphoto inserts the photos, it might not necessarily keep certain photos together (in this case, it's my parents' trip to Ireland) and we have a preference to keep photos from the same venue together on a page, not split by a page-flip. This is where I'd want to change a layout from say 2 photos to 6 photos and would like to automatically move the previous pages photos forward to be placed in the new empty slots.

You can ask - but what you want is not a feature of iPhoto - suggest to Apple - iPhoto Menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback.
As to your use of the existing features - totally your choice - some people use certain features and other do not - do what you please
I generally find that if I am careful in selecting photos then Autoflow is a good start - but not always - just depends
And I usually fill holes with additional photos that I did not originally choose or change the number of photos in the layout I use for that page

Move forward even on incorrect answer with infinite attempts?

Hello,
I want to use captivate for a summative assessment where students can have inifinite attempts at each question and are able to move backwards and forwards through the quiz. From what I can see at the moment when I set the question level attempts to infinite the slide never progresses until they get the answer correct. I want them to be able to change their answer but move forward on submit even if their answer is incorrect? At the moment I can't seem to see a way of doing this? Is my only option to use custom slides?

You are correct that if you set infinite attempts on a question then Captivate will assume you wanted the student to remain on that question until they got it correct.
Developers often find it difficult to understand how Captivate's quiz questions work. There are many ways you can configure the question options. In fact there are good reasons for seemingly bizarre behaviours, but those reasons are often masked by the way your settings are configured.
As a sample: Once the participant submits an answer for a quiz slide (correct or incorrect) and then progresses to another slide, their answer for that slide is locked in. If you have multiple attempts on that question allowed, AND you have backward movement allowed, THEN your participant can move back to the previous question and reattempt it, but if you don't have the Retry caption or Failure levels turned on, Captivate will then only appear to allow them to submit a correct answer.
If you want the user to be able to move forward even if their answer is incorrect, just enable the SKIP button on the question slide. The user can then opt to click this button to move to the next question.
