I originally put this in the Elements forum but as Adobe have yet to fix it and I'm not sure how to report it directly to Adobe I've put it here as well.

However the download does work, so maybe you should try again or use another computer.

When I try to open CS6 camera raw I get an error abou the parent application not bein active.

Actually there are two problems. 1) When I try to open a picture in CS6 camera raw I get this error "Bridge's parent application is not active. Bridge requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature. My second problem is that I'm unable to open Ps without getting a window to get the creative cloud. If I close the window it closed Ps.
How do I fix these two problems?

Can you open Adobe Reader by itself? If so, try to disable Protected Mode [Edit | Preferenes | Security (Enhanced)].

Camera Raw 8.3 download problem?

I have the 610 so attempted to download Camera Raw 8.3. First attempt a file downloaded but when I attempted to load it I got message from PhotoShop "
Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file."
2nd attempt, when I selected to download Camera Raw 8.3 for CS6 (after some time) I got Download Error.
Anyone download successfully? What should I do to download?

I have both ACR 8.3 RC CC and ACR 8.3 RC CS6 installed and both work ok with their respective Photoshop versions, on my Windows 7 computer.
What does Help (or LR) / About / Plug-In / Camera Raw… show for a version number and is there more than one version of Camera Raw shown as installed?
Mac people are having a problem with the installer, since it is not a DMG, but I haven’t seen that for Windows, other than maybe getting the CC and CS6 versions mixed up.
It would help to know what OS you’re running and what version of Photoshop you have.

Camera Raw 7.3 Update errors

I sought to update my Bridge and Photoshop CS5 programs to Camera Raw 7.3, but continued to get an error message when downloading. I need to make this update to read some files I shot on Nikon's "NEF" raw system. The error message reads "Updates could not be applied," and, "There was an error installing this update. Please quit and try again later. Error Code: U44M1I21"
Have you had any experience with this? I'm hoping I don't have to reinstall the programs.... Aything helps, thatnks!

Photoshop 12.0 Camera Raw Updates never download. Any ideas?

Trying to download the Camera Raw update for Photoshop 12.0. No matter how many times I quit and re-try, the updates download but never complete the installation process. This is common to all my Adobe products, so I'm guessing it's the updater. In the progress bar I can see the downloads taking place, but at the end of the process the updater gives me the message> " [product name]. There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later.
No amount of quitting and restarting etc has any impact.
I would prefer not to have to uninstall lightroom etc so I've held off doing that in the hopes there's an easier way.
Is this just me or do others have this problem too?

I’ve seen Adobe support people respond to things in that forum during daylight hours in the US, or you might try just starting a Chat session indicating you’re having issues installing Elements (or maybe Photoshop) by going to adobe.com, clicking on Menu then choosing Learn and Support and jump through the hoops to narrow down what you’re having an issue with, then click Still Need Help and choose Chat.
The Adobe Camera Raw forum is for the PS plug-in and perhaps general raw-decoding questions not specific to a product.
Not for either Lightroom or “Photoshop 12” issues. By “Photoshop 12” do you mean Photoshop Elements 12 (PSE12) or Photoshop CS5 which is also known as Photoshop 12?

Photoshop 6 camera raw 4.6 update error

Hello, when I go to update my photoshop 6 elements software, it says there is an update available, called: "Adobe Camera Raw 4.6," available. But, when it tries to install it I get an error that says: "Unable to locate product to be updated." I am running a mac, osx 10.5.8. I'm wondering if this will become a problem as I am starting to process raw photos. Thanks for any advice.

If you want to use the raw images from your new camera in an older version of Camera Raw, you can convert the raw images to DNG.
When doing so, you even have an option to embed the original raw file in the DNG, which you can later extract if needed. So, you'd only need to keep the DNG versions of the files; no need to have duplicated data filling up your hard drive unnecessarily.

Camera Raw .CR2 file download failure from new Canon650D

I have the new model Canon650D and cannot download Camera Raw CR2 files into Photoshop Elements 10. I get a "program error" message on screen. I have tried converting to DNG files but get same error message. I have downloaded latest upgrades for Camera Raw plug-ins in Adobe Application Manager and evidently have the latest 6.7 version available. Is there a later upgrade or do I have to wait until Adobe catch up?

You have two alternatives:
(1) Upgrade to PSE 11. (2) Download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your raw files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the files will open in all versions of PSE (keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software) Try a differnt download (7.3 the latest) if DNG did not work before.

Camera Raw 7.1 download

I am trying to download Camera Raw 7.1 to a trial version of CS6. I keep getting a message to close Bridge. I have closed Bridge and checked the task manager. It is closed. I keep getting the message and the download will not proceed. What can I do?

Camera Raw 8.6 launch error in Photoshop 2014.2

Hi. After updating Photoshop to version 2014.2 I have a problem with launching Camera Raw plugin. When I try to open raw file there is said:
could not complete your request because of a disk error
Camera Raw doesn't launch not from Photoshop, nor from Bridge.
Photoshop 2014.2
Camera Raw 8.6.0.254
Windows 8.1
How can I fix it?
And also there's another problem with Adobe Bridge, no way to open JPEG files in Photoshop by default. Before updating to PS2014 - it was always possible to choose program to open any kind of file from Bridge. Now there's only Open button (no Open with) [right click menu], and by default it opens files in Windows picture viewer, not in Photoshop as before. So now to open JPEG in PS I have to drag file from Bridge to Photoshop window. Not really comfortable. Is that a problem of settings? (i haven't found way to fix it in settings), or a program bug?

Because that's when the freaking error in your freaking system surfaced and corrupted your OS install in your freaking main account!
That's exactly what I predicted and told you, problems with your OS, i.e. the main account.
Geeze… some people just come to here to argue rather than to hear what their problem may be.
I can guarantee you that you will have OS issues again until you repair your disk and/or your OS. If your HD is over two years old, it's time to replace it, given its symptoms.

Where is the Camera Raw 7.2 download?

Adobe's web page "New Downloads" refers to a new download by "Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter"—but when downloading the self-extracting archive then it will contain DNG Converter 7.2 only (plus a bazillion of camera and lens profiles) but no Camera Raw 7.2. What gives?

It makes sense to people who understand computers and files. Here it is stated another way:
The Camera Raw plug-in is embodied in one or two files only (depending on whether you have a Mac or a Windows x64 system).
On a Mac it's Camera Raw.plugin. On a PC the plug-in is named Camera Raw.8bi. The file(s) are several tens of megabytes in size.
In either case, if you copy those file(s) from the place(s) they are installed after a successful update to the place(s) they should be installed on your non-internet connected machines, you will have successfully applied the update manually.

Received error code U44M2P7 while trying to update to camera raw 7.1 I'm running CS6 and my camera is a 600D/T3i

Delete the folder 1.0 (or simply cut-paste it on Desktop for sake of not losing it, just in case the solution doesn't work) from following location on your machine and try updating again.
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe\AAMUpdater\1.0
Error happens when AAM is incorrectly installed for some reason.
Let me know if this doesn't work.
