Camera raw 6.6 for pse 9

I just tried to update Camera raw for PSE 9. I need 6.6 to read raw files from my new SonyNEX-7, but the updater only gave me 6.5, which doesn't work. How can I get 6.6?

How can I get 6.6?
Win: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5312
Mac: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5311
However this Adobe technote says that PSE9 is only compatible with Camera Raw up to version 6.5

If that's the case, you'll have to download the free DNG converter, convert your Raw files to DNG then edit the DNGs in PSE9.
Or upgrade to PSE11 to edit the Raw files.

  • How do I access Camera Raw Plug-in for PSE 11?

I can't figure out how to access the Camera Raw plug-in for Photoshop Elements 11 ( on a Macbook Pro OSX.)  I recently installed  PSE 11, and when I select "about plug-in" within the app, it brings up a box that shows version 7.1.0.354.  Does that mean it's already installed?  If so, how do I access it to edit a photo? In past PSE versions I simply chose "Open file / as Camera Raw" but that option doesn't come up.

In the File Open dialog ensure you have All Readable Documents selected for Enable.
Click on the file you want to open
Change the Format to Camera Raw

  • Sony ARW files in Camera RAW 6.2 for PSE 8

Recently I bought a new camera, a Sony A580. I made several tests in RAW (ARW-files) and found out that my PSE8 does not recognize the files and hence, does not import them into the organizer.
I started searching and installed the Adobe Camera RAW 6.2 update, and installed a Sony update for viewing ARW files in Windows Vista/7.
Now I can view the ARW files in Windows, but still cannot import them into the organizer.
Is there anybody out there who can help me importing my ARW files into the PSE8 organizer?
    Thank you in advance,
    With kind regards,

    Well, very clear answer.
Can you tell me where I can find information about models which are supported by Camera RAW 6.2? I've been searching everywhere but only been able to find supported camera models for Camera RAW 6.3.
Thanks a lot for your swift answer and the supplied links.

  • How do I install camera raw 4.6 (for Nikon D90) in Elements 6 for a Mac?

I need to install camera raw 4.6 (for Nikon D90) plug-in on Elements 6 for at Mac?  I'ved downloaded the plug-in but it does not seem to work.  I've got Elements 10 on my desktop Mac but I am using Elements 6 on an older iBook G4.  Any help will be appreciated.  thanks.

For PSE 6, get the .plugin out of the download, then go to your hard drive>library>Application Support>Adobe>plug-ins>file formats and remove the old plug-in, then put just the new .plugin file in there instead. Older versions of PSE can't update ACR from the help menu the way PSE 10 can.

  • When will Camera raw be available for processing Canon 7d Mark two in Photoshop Elements 12

When will Camera raw be available for processing Canon 7d Mark two in Photoshop Elements 12?

    Hi,
    Probably never.
PSE 13 is now out and updates are usually only compatible with the latest version - ACR 8.6 didn't even make it for PSE 12.
ACR 8.7 for PSE 13 should probably include support but we don't know when it will be released.

Nope. DNG is backwards compatible John and imho works better in Adobe applications than CR2. Upgrade to PSE 11 or download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your raw files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the files will open in all versions of PSE (keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)
Windows download click here DNG Converter 7.4
Mac download click here DNG Converter 7.4
You can convert a whole folder of raw images in one click. See this quick video tutorial:

Sorry, I am on a MAC. I downloaded the link you provided and it's giving the same error message as above. Running CS5.
The error message you gave is from Camera Raw. I thought you said that DNG Converter didn't work?
The link I gave you is an article on getting your raw files to open in Camera Raw. Did you read it? I lazily gave you the link because this is one of the most common problems in this forum, and I get tired of saying the same thing over and over again. I could break it down for your specific case, but I was hoping you could read through the article and work it out for yourself.
    But, here goes:
Your cameras are newer than your raw converter, so it won't understand them.
CS5 comes with Camera Raw 6, which can only be upgraded as far as 6.7.1. You can find out which version of Camera Raw you are running in three ways: in the settings title bar (Cmd-K), in the plug-in title bar (press F to start/stop full-screen mode to reveal the title bar), or Photoshop's Help menu (About Plug-ins).
Downloading raw files from newer Nikon cameras with old versions of Nikon Transfer will actually make them unreadable in Adobe software. They can be fixed with a free utility. Again, it's all in the linked article. You should be using up-to-date Nikon Transfer, or Adobe Photodownloader to avoid this problem.
All being well, you have good raw files on your computer. You can convert them to dng using Adobe DNG Converter. IF you are on OSX Leopard or Snow Leopard, you CAN'T use the latest version, because Adobe stopped support. But, if you ARE on a later OSX, you can download DNG Converter 8.6.
DNG Converter is designed to convert FOLDERS of raw files at a time. You select a folder of raw files, and tell it to create DNG copies. BUT, you have to set up the converter before you start using it...
If you load up DNG Converter, you'll notice a button labelled "Change Preferences". Clicking this, you'll see the first option is "Compatibility". Here, you must select the appropriate setting for the version of Camera Raw you HAVE (see above). If you can't work this out, just pick "Camera Raw 5.4 and later". THEN pick a folder of raw files and convert them to DNGs.
All the above is already in the article, but I gave you a personalised response. If you still can't get it to work, please give us more than one sentence. Tell us exactly what you tried, and describe exactly what happened. Which version of OSX you're running, what device and software you downloaded your raw files with, how you used DNG Converter, and so on.
I really should be in bed.

  • My auto updates are not working. I cannot find where to download Camera Raw 8.1 for Photoshop CS6.

My auto updates are not working! I cannot find where to download Camera Raw 8.1 for Photoshop CS6 (Windows 8 64 bit). My Camera Raw is now at 7.1. I had the online Adobe folks tell me to just download all updates manually. That's great, yet I cannot find camera raw 8.1 to download...
    Please help.
    Thanks, Janet

  • Still Looking for Camera Raw Plug-In for CS4

I have Adobe CS4, and, after extensive searching, cannot find the correct version of the Camera Raw plug-in for my Mac (OS 10.6.8).  I just did successfully download and install the DNG converter 8.1 for Macs.  Today I downloaded version 5.4 for mac then it told me to quit before proceeding with the installation, that there was a newer version available.  Adobe states my camera's minimum requirement for Camera Raw is version 5.4.

Can anyone guide me to the right one?  Camera Raw only been a dream until now.  I finally have a great DSLR that supports raw, I've been playing around with it in iPhoto, but it's now time for me to take this to the next level.
    Thanks very much.

Ask such specific questions on the Camera RAW or Photoshop forums and include info about your camera. If it's a newer model, this may ber perfectly normal and the files may require you to upgrade to CS5.1 so you can use the latest versions of Camera RAW or use the standalone DNG converter...

  • My current Camera Raw 5.7 for Photoshop CS4 Extended does not support Canon EOS 6D. What can I do? Will there be a Photoshop Camera RAW for that?

My current Camera Raw 5.7 for Photoshop CS4 Extended does not support Canon EOS 6D. What can I do? Will there be a Photoshop Camera RAW for that?

You would need Camera Raw 7.3 or later to open those files. Adobe is not going to update CS4. You can either get a newer version of Photoshop that comes with a current version of Camera Raw, or you can use the DNG converter to save your files down to the ACR version that works with CS4.

  • Camera raw plug-in for Photoshop CS

Can I download a camera raw plug-in for Photoshop CS (just CS, the really old one) that is compatible with my Rebel T2i? I can find info on which plug-in I need but when I try to find it they are all for newer versions of photoshop.

    Hi,
What operating system are you using photoshop cs on?
Since photoshop cs (photoshop 8) can't be updated past camera raw 2.4, you would need to use the 8.3 dng converter to convert your files to
dng copies that photoshop cs can open.
You also need to ensure you have updated photoshop cs to camera raw 2.4, so you can open dng files in phpotoshop cs.
The following links are for windows versions:
    8.3 dng converter:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5694
    camera raw 2.4

If your using photoshop cs on mac os x, then the particular dng converter you would need differs, depending on what version of os x your using.

  • Camera Raw 6.4 for PSE9

Does ANYONE have a clue when Adobe will release Camera Raw 6.4 for PSE9???  I have been waiting 2 months for it - I got a new camera at end of January, and 6.3 does not support it (Oly E-PL2).  6.3 only supports E-PL1.
Can anyone help????  PLEASE, ADOBE, HURRY UP AND GIVE US THE UPDATE!!!
    THANK YOU.

All that proves is that Apple has a different release cycle for its products.  Adobe certainly doesn't release a new Camera Raw version, nor even a new beta build, for each new camera.
I honestly don't know why Elements users aren't included in the public betas for Camera Raw.  Maybe Adobe just figures that if they're not full Photoshop users they won't be able to contribute very much to the beta, though that seems short-sighted.  I'm with you; just knowing it would work with Elements on multiple customer systems should have value for them.
Personally I feel Adobe sometimes doesn't manage their beta testing as well as they could. But that's just my opinion.
I may have misread your annoyance. For that I'm sorry.
I'm sorry you perceived me, in turn, as annoyed. I wasn't - I was amused to think you were demanding the update.
You see, I'm keenly interested in the perceptions of software users, as I am a software publisher myself.  I find it amusing that once a company has had a policy in place for a while - e.g., Adobe's policy of releasing updates to support new cameras - their customers come to expect it and can even become demanding.  Others have posted "C'mon Adobe, let's have that new update already!" messages before.
When you step back and think for a moment that they're providing value after the sale for no additional (direct) profit, it all comes into focus.  Hey, in this day and age of "buyer beware" it's great; more businesses need to do intangible things for their customers.

  • Crop tool in Camera Raw 8.4 for PS CS6

I recently downloaded camera raw 8.4 for use with photoshop CS6. The crop tool in camera raw now only allows me to crop to a ratio rather than to a specific size. I usually crop to 9x13 or 17x22 inches. How do I get this feature back?  I prefer and need to crop my work to a specific size.
    Thanks, Jeff D.

    Good day!
I notice no difference to prior to 8.4.
But maybe the ACR Forum may be a better place for questions realted to ACR.
