Camera Raw 6.6 not installing on CS5

I've been trying to install an update to Camera Raw 6.6 on my laptop, and it just gives an error for no reason when I'm trying to install. Running Windows 7 right now, and checked the install logs:

Not quite sure whats going on. Help please?

I think ACR 6.7 is last version so install that.  They are cumulative so no need for 6.6.
May be a server or a browser issue, so try again.

Only Photoshop and Bridge use the Camera Raw plugin directly. The next release of Lightroom will contain the same version of Camera Raw as the current beta plugin.

  • Camera Raw 5.2 not installing in PSE6 on Mac

    Hi,
I've downloaded the update and opened it. It goes into an automatic install, skipping over "Destination Select". After it finished, I looked in the root Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-in/CS3/File Formats, and the only thing there is the older plug-in.
I can't seem to open the download to access a plug-in folder that I could drag in, and I don't know where the automatic installation ended up. Anyone else having problems with this setup?

I tried again this morning and cannot seem to find a plugin file after the download. Anybody have suggestions on how to get this to work on a Mac?

I have just purchased a Canon 7d Mk2 but the raw files will not open in Cs5 and downloads of Adobe Camera Raw 8.7 will not install. What can I do?

Alternatively, install & use RawTherapee instead to develop your raw files instead (free and open source).

  • Camera raw 7.2 will not install within CS5.5, but need it to read nrw files from P7700.

camera raw 7.2 will not install within CS5.5, but need it to read nrw files from P7700. Besides DNG Converter, what can I do to use files directly?

Your next option is to upgrade photoshop. If you can't afford the full version (less than $20/month) you could get elements, it uses the latest version of camera raw, but I think it is a stripped down version though.

You were probably using the Release Candidate version of camera raw 8.7, which one gets from Adobe Labs.

  • I have Camera Raw 8.7.1 installed.  Sometimes it will allow me access to the Radial Filter and sometimes not.  Why?

I have Camera Raw 8.7.1 installed.  Sometimes it will show me icons for the Graduated Filter and the Radial Filter and I can use both.  At other times it will not show the Radial Filter and of course when that happens I can't use it.  Why?

I have CS 6 installed as well as a subscription to Photoshop CC, but I don't use CS 6.  I'm just keeping it around in case Adobe jumps the CC subscription price out of sight.  I was using Photoshop CC and Bridge.  I always pass my .nef and .jpg files through ACR first.  Sometimes the Radial Filter button is there and sometimes it is not.

  • Camera Raw editing is not enabled - ACR5.4 Vista 64bit

When I use Bridge, and right click and select to open a raw file in Camera Raw, I get this message:
"Camera Raw editing is not enabled. Camera Raw editing requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature".
There is no problem in Bridge when opening a raw file in Camera Raw when just Open With (PS) or double-clicking
I have seen many have the same problem, and I have tried most of the hints found in forums, but no luck.
I running Windows Vista 64bit. Installed and activated Photoshop CS4 in the standard directories and installed ACR 5.4 manually as described by Adobe by copy the plugin files to folders:
    Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS4\File Formats\
    Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS4\File Formats\
There are no other files in this 2 directories.
I have tried purging cache, and have closed both Brigde and Photoshop and startet Bridge from Photoshop by using -file, -browse in Bridge. And still the same problem.
There are no errors in the files alm.log and amt.log in %temp% directory.
    Thanks for any help

I have just upgraded to Win 7 64bit and have had a similar problem with getting "Camera Raw editing is not enabled" in Bridge
I had installed CS4 as a trial whilst I tested that my install of Win 7 was OK
When I activated CS4 I was using CS4 64 bit and never got the "I have deactivated the software from another machine" question
I tried lost of things to get Camera Raw editing in Bridge and all failed.
When I tried CS4 32 bit it wanted to activate the software - it  asked the "I have deactivated the software from another machine" question and then rejected the activation as two PC were using the key.
I deactivated CS4 from the 64bit side and removed the key
Then I activated using CS4 32bit - all seems OK now
    Hope this works for you

The D600 was first supported in Camera Raw 7.3 which is only compatible with CS6 and later - not CS5 unfortunately.

    Some options:
    FREE
Download the free Adobe DNG converter, convert all D600 Raw files to DNGs then open the DNGs in CS5

    PAID
    Upgrade to CS6
    Buy Lightroom 5.4
    Buy Photoshop Elements 12

  • Camera Raw Defaults & Presets not showing menus (BRIDGE)

    Hi There
I just upgraded to a new version of PS CS3 & Bridge and the option to apply Presets, or to Apply Camera Raw Defaults is not showing when I right click a file in Bridge. It also doesnt show up in the menu. I need to be able to Batch process hundreds of photos at a time and then convert them to Tif formats. I used to be able to do this by applying my Adobe Camera Defaults to many images at once. How do I do this now????
I am running Bridge 2.0.0975 and PS 10. Help!! This is critical for me!!!
    thanks so much!

    > Even if old versions are available for download, having older versions available on disk in case of malfunction is a perfectly acceptable practice.
    > This applies to any update of any software.
Agreed. I have gigabytes of disk space packed full of iso's, dmgs, and zips for
(almost) all of the software I've installed on my computers. It's a pain to
manage sometimes, but I know I can go back and reinstall PS7 (for instance) if I
need to even though I have no clue where the CD is at. It's just one part of my
configuration management and backup strategy. I don't have a sysadmin to take
care of this kind of thing for me any more, unfortunately, so I have to do it
    myself.
This plan also has the advantage that I don't have to be online to download
older versions from a vendors site (if it's even available) or go searching for
a seeded torrent (if it's not).
I'm not saying this approach is good for every one or even good for anyone but
me, but it is a perfectly valid way of doing things.

  • Camera Raw Universal update not working

    Hey there .... heeeeelp ....
I've just upgraded to a Mac Book Pro Core 2 Duo system, and it seems like the Camera Raw updater is not functioning on this system.
I get no previews with my Canon 400D/XTi on import, which is what this update was supossed to address. I've installed the update several times, looked in the Frameworks to find the plist file and the entry for my camera is indeed in there.... but still no previews on import.
    Anyone else have this problem?
    Anyone know of a solution?

    Hello There
Are you getting unsupported file format instead of the preview? If so try downloading to a folder on the desktop instead of straight into Aperture. Set the "when a camera is connected" preference in Aperture to image capture and then import your images from the folder.
What you describe happened with my 400D particularly when importing a large number of RAW images.

When I download camera raw 8.5 and install the raw converter doesnt work anymore, wont even open or isnt available anymore in the plugin list. Tried to reinstall everything for a few times, but nothing helps.

When I search for updates the raw converter doesnt get update automaticly. Frustrating, is costing me the whole morning.
