Camera Raw adjustment brushes is delaying?

All at once camera raw cc is having a delay in the adjustment brush.  All else is working and no changes were made or updates.  I uninstalled and reinstalled but didn't help.

Don't think so. I have the latest 7.1 ACR version and the GPU/Video works just fine for everything else. Once I convert the RAW file and start working in PS6 it all looks fine there too. If it helps, I can do a screen grab of the wierd ACR panel and post it here. Like I said, everything was working fine post 10.8 installation untill about a week ago.
Even when I go to PS6 preferences and select Camera Raw this black background control panel for ACR shows up. I downloaded the 7.2 Release but can't seem to find where to select it to see if that works. I seem to remember being able to select different versions of ACR from the ACR control panel but that must be obscured by the descibed glitch too.
How can I completely uninstall and reinstall  ACR? Seems like the updates are patches now.
Thanks for any help

  • Camera Raw (Adjustment Brush - How do you select NO color?)

With the Adjustment Brush selected, there are six control channel parameters listed:
    Exposure
    Brightness
    Contrast
    Saturation
    Clarity
    Sharpness
    Color
The Color control channel shows a color swatch, which displays the current color parameter setting:
When this parameter is set to no color, the swatch appears as a rectangle with two diagonal lines. It looks something like this:
How do I set the color parameter to no color?

    Thanks for the quick response.
When I select white (from the Color Picker), the color control parameter's color swatch becomes white, like this:
After some experimentation I found that "no color" can be selected by choosing white with a saturation of 0 in the Color Picker.
That combination produces "no color" and the color control parameter's color swatch appears like this -- showing the two diagonal lines:
I appreciate your help which got me on the right track. Thanks.

  • Camera RAW adjustment brush has no effect

I'm using Photoshop CS4 on my MacPro and the adjustment brush in ACR has no effect. I deleted the preferences file with no result. I have a copy of PS CS5 beta and the adjustment brush works quite well. I'm not using the beta on production jobs until it's released. Suggestions, please. Thank you.

  • How do I stop camera raw adjusting contrast and brightness automatically when I open any image

Every time I open in image in camera raw or Photoshop it is applying an automatic contrast and brightness setting. I have tried resetting to defaults with cntrl shft del but it doesn't make a difference. It also when I just flick through thumbnails on bridge. The pics look almost like they have a cartoon like filter on them!!any ideas on how I get it all back to normal it's been great in the past . I use cs3

Short answer, learn how to use the tool...
As for the "auto" adjustments, are you sure that's what's happening or are the images changing based on the differences between what the camera preview and the Camera Raw preview look like? If you have indeed somehow turned on the "Auto" adjustment and saved that out as a Camera Raw default, you can go into the Camera Raw flyout menu and choose the option to Reset Camera Raw Defaults. If however you are talking about the inherent differences between the way your camera renders raw and the way Camera Raw renders it, that's an entirely different discussion...
As for your other question, try rephrasing it as it doesn't mean a thing to me so I have no idea how to answer...

  • Photoshop Camera Raw Adjustment Pins Large

Hi Your help is needed please.
I use camera raw version 9.0.0414 with the latest Photoshop CC.  When adding an adjustment layer PIN in camera raw the Pins display large and seem difficult to navigate, move, select, delete.  Is this an update of camera raw?  Can this be changed back to the smaller pins with easier navigation?  Or maybe this is a bug in the software?  Many Thanks

Having the same issue. I haven't tested it, but I have a feeling it's a Windows DPI setting issue. I made a post about it a few days before you with a photo and a description. Maybe you can check it out to see if it's the same issue?

  • Camera Raw - Adjusting sliders with scroll wheel

In Lightroom you can adjust the sliders with the scroll wheel. Is there any way to do this in Camera Raw? Or can I change the amount that is changed with the up/down arrows?

It's not hard to imagine the software team finding lots of other important things to work on.
Maybe they're not hearing people ask for this specific feature very much.  Perhaps you should make an impassioned plea over at:  http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family

  • No change in Bridge thumbnail preview after Camera Raw adjustment

Thumbnail previews in Bridge CS4 do not reflect changes after adjustments are made in Camera Raw.
It used to be fine and now nothing changes after clicking done in Camera Raw.

First go to the menu tools / cache and choose purge cache for folder. If
this does not work restart Bridge holding down option and choose refresh
preferences. After this reset preferences again to your wishes and try
    again.

  • Importing older Camera Raw-adjusted RAW files with XMP sidecars

When I import CR2 files (Canon RAW) that have XMP files alongside them into my Lightroom 4 catalog, Lightroom correctly reads image adjustments from XMP files and assigns them as Develop settings for the newly imported photos. This is how I expected it to be. Lightroom assigns older process version to these files, as it should be.
One quick question I have though: once I imported all these CR2 files into my collection, is it safe to delete all those XMP sidecar files immediately? I assume that Lightroom stores all Develop settings in the catalog file at the moment of the import and that XMP sidecars are no longer necessary. Is that correct? Or do I have to enter the Develop mode with each imported file first, before deleting the XMP in order to make old settings to "stick"?

So, that's what I did. I successfully imported my pictures into my catalog and then deleted all XMP files (or, more precisely, backed them up in a different location).
However, Lightroom still remembers that my pictures used to have sidecar XMP files. The Metadata window still says "Sidecar file: xmp". And, more importantly, absence of XMP files triggers errors when I attempt to move imported pictures from one folder to another inside Lightroom. Lightroom report errors for each file that used to have a sidecar, listing all missing XMP files in the error window. The move operation completes successfully though, but Lightroom still refuses to forget about the XMP sidecar even after the file is moved. Next time I attempt to move the same picture, the same error window pops up again.
How do I force Lightroom to forget about XMP files for pictures that were originally imported with XMP sidecars?

  • How do I turn off ALL auto adjustments in Camera Raw?

    SUMMARY:
I am simply trying to open my images in Camera Raw (version 8.6.0.254) via Bridge CC exactly how they were shot in camera, with no auto adjustments whatsoever.  I already have all of the auto boxes unchecked in the Camera Raw Preferences dialogue box under Default Image Settings.  I am shooting raw on a Sony A7r.
    MORE INFO:
This discussion is not being created without prior research on how to solve it.  Hopefully there is a simple solution that I have overlooked and missed when looking for it.
I shoot my raw images flat on purpose.  The in-camera saturation is turned down, along with a lot of the other picture profile settings in the camera.
I use Bridge CC to sort though my images and make selects.  In Bridge, I have "Prefer Embedded" selected for my thumbnails in order to stop the auto processing to happen to the thumbnails there.
The problem is, as soon as I open my raw images in Camera Raw from Bridge, the auto adjustments kick in and the saturation and exposure are automatically adjusted.  I can't figure out how to stop Camera Raw from making adjustments to my raw images.  As stated above, all of the auto check boxes are unchecked in the Camera Raw Preferences.
When the "Command U" shortcut is pressed after an image is opened, it applies the auto settings, making it clear the Camera Raw thinks that nothing has been applied yet.  Toggling between "Camera Raw Defaults" and "Image Settings" in the side drop down menu does nothing either.
Below are two screen shots.  One of how the thumbnail looks in Bridge, desaturated and flat.  The other is how the image opens in Camera Raw with no user adjustments what so ever.  You can see how the saturation and exposure have been adjusted:
Bridge Preview - this is how the image was shot in camera.
Camera Raw - Straight after opening the file with no user adjustments.  You can clearly see the dramatic auto adjustments, but all of the sliders are set to default.
I would love to get some help with this, so I can see and work on my images as they were shot.  Im really hoping it is a stupid oversight on my part with an easy fix.  Thanks for the help.

As was already said: the camera's interpretation of the raw data is just one interpretation, and not the same as Adobe's. Don't confuse it with "exactly how they were shot", as this doesn't apply when shooting Raw. Granted it IS the manufacturer's interpretation, but you wouldn't be shooting Raw and using Adobe Camera Raw if you thought the manufacturer was always right.
One thing nobody has mentioned is Adobe's "baseline exposure" compensation factor. Camera Raw adjusts the default preview exposure by a factor of EV based on their measurements of the camera sensor. My present camera is boosted by 0.35EV and my last camera by 0.5EV. There is a way of determining this using EXIFTOOL, but I can't remember how to do it offhand. For the last few years, I have adjusted my own Camera Raw defaults by reversing this compensation, so it more closely matches the exposure I was expecting.
EDIT: here's the procedure, if you're interested. Re: Baseline Exposure

  • Why external editor Cs5 doesn't open in Adobe Camera Raw window?

I am workning in Apertute 3 and I want to edit some photos in Photoshop Cs5. I am working with RAW files, but when I want to open the file in external editor, it doesn't open in Adobe Camera Raw so I am loosing the Adobe Camera Raw adjustment abilities. Is there perhaps a way how to set up Aperture to comunicate with Photoshop Cs5 so it opens photos in Camera Raw window? I think in previous version of Aperture this was possible. Thanks.

Editing in the external editor (from within aperture) is only possible for Versions, not for masters, afaik. Since it would be pointless to export a Version again in some raw format, Aperture offers high quality lossless formats to export versions - tiff and Photoshop psd.
If you want to do the raw processing externally, you will have to edit the master image file:
export the master, or reveal a managed master and copy it to Photoshop, then reimport it.
To edit the master in Photoshop and to reimport it, you could use an automator service: I put a sample workflow and some instructions on how to use and modify it on this page: feel free to modify it according to your needs.

  • How to access Camera Raw when invoking CS5 from Lightroom 3?

When I invoke CS5 from Lightroom, my NEF files seem to load directly without giving me an opportunity to make adjustments in Camera Raw. If I open the same NEF file from windows Explorer, CS5 presents the Camera Raw adjustment page and I can make adjustments before proceeding.
How can I work around this?
BTW I know I can make camera raw adjustments in Lightroom and then open in CS5, however for an image that I know I will be using CS5 on anyway, I don't want to do anything at all in LR just go direct to CS5 but I can't do this if this bypasses my ability to make adjustments in camera raw!
I must be missing something here, can anyone point me in the right direction?
    [I'm using Camera Raw 6.1, LR3, CS5 12.0.1 x64; Invoking CS5 from LR3 by right-click on image, Edit In > Edit in Adobe Photoshop CS5]

That workaround did work for me so thanks for the helpful reply!
If anyone else has other ways of making this work I'd like to hear about it.
    Thanks,

  • How do I copy Camera RAW defaults to another computer?

I use Photoshop CS6 and Adobe Camera RAW to process RAW files (D700).  I have ACR preferences set to make the defaults ASA specific, which means I have 41 defaults for ACR.  I have a folder of images shot with the D700 that includes one image for each ASA the camera can select when auto ASA is activated in the D700, that's where I get 41 ASA values.  I use the images in this folder to set a default for each ASA value and then select one at a time in Camera RAW and click to set a new default for ACR (Adobe Camera RAW).  These defaults are saved in some location on the computer, but I don't know where.  I would like to copy these saved defaults to another computer that is also running Photoshop CS6.  Does anyone know where the defaults are located, or is there a better way to accomplish this task?

If I understand what you said, I think this will only save RAW Defaults for that specific image conditions.  I have the RAW converter set to make it specific to image ASA and for the D700 it can set 41 different ASA values for the image.  I have 41 Camera RAW Defaults for the D700 and would like to transfer all to the second computer, that's the reason I am looking for options to accomplish this task.
I have a folder with 41 D700 NEF files with each having a different ASA value.  I select this folder of images in Camera RAW, adjust each image to the defaults I want - the main difference is noise settings.  When I have the settings I want, I click the Done button.  I then open the images again in Camera RAW, select one at a time and select the "Save New Camera Raw Defaults".  Now when I open new NEF files for the D700 it will automatically apply the Default I want based on the image ASA.
I currently copy the folder with the 41 images that was saved with the defaults I want and open them one at a time and save a new default on the second computer.  If I copy the "Camera RAW" folder it should give me all the same defaults, custom camera profiles, custom curver, settings, etc.
I have not tried this yet, but if it works it will save a lot of time keeping the two computers in sync relative to these parameters.

  • Random problem opening RAW images from I-photo into Camera Raw 4.1

Hi there, sometimes when I double click an RAW .NEF image in i-photo it opens into the Camera Raw adjustement window and sometimes not. This is shots from the same shoot and they're all definitely .NEF files. The shots that have already opened always open in the CR window and the others don't.
Any ideas? This is driving me crazy!
I'm running Photoshop CS3 on a quad core intel Mac.
    Many thanks

    Max,

  • Adjustment Brush: Cool

Still learning some features in Lr3 and came across Adjustment Brush video tutorials.  I'm not sure if PSE has this feature, I only use it so far for simple adjustment edits, but in any case its the first time I've seen this feature used - this tutorial below - to me - shows some amazing technology that I'm sure I will make use of.
Its an example of Photography being half the Art - and Digital Imaging bing the other half...
