Camera raw bridge not in order

when I open my raw files they are not in order I have two mac g-5s same version cs-2 . The order is fine on one mac and out of order on the other, I have the same settings in view?

> thought that Bridge did its own sorting.
Within the Bridge Content pane, sure. But opening the files in Photoshop, the OS comes into play.

When you re-installed Photoshop, you also re-installed the version of Camera Raw which shipped with Photoshop - in other words you reverted to an older version of Camera Raw which does not support the D5100.

The D5100 was first supported in Camera Raw version 6.4.

You are definitely in the wrong forum for Bridge CS6 and Adobe Camera Raw. You have posted in the Adobe Premiere Elements Forum (video editing focus).
You probably want to be posting in the Photoshop Forum.

My preliminary findings suggest possible workaround
    a. Open camera raw in Photoshop 5 or 5.5 and then open edited raw image in Bridge CS6
    or
    b. There is a preferences route to check out.
Not being a Photoshop user, this is a quick suggestion where you might start looking. This is apparently a known issue.
The Photoshop users should be able to give you all the details and options you have for workarounds for now.

  • New Nikon Df camera RAW files not recognized in Bridge and Photoshop.

New Nikon Df camera RAW files not recognized in Bridge and Photoshop.  Is there a fix?  Surely Adobe make a mistake and not keep up with Nikon.

I looked at the current list http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html and did not see the Nikon DF listed.
Would post in ACR forum and see if they know anything more.  http://forums.adobe.com/community/cameraraw

  • Edits made in earlier Camera Raws are not displaying in CS6 Bridge for PC

All the painstaking adjustments and croppings I've made over the years to my raw files in earlier versions of Camera Raw do not show up in CS6. It's as though I never did any adjustments.
But if I open the files in CS6 Camera Raw and make a tiny tweak adjustment for all files (such as +1 in saturation), then the entire set of previous adjustments DOES show up in CS6 Bridge.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop CS6 a whole bunch of times and this never corrects!
Is there any fix for this? Or did I just get a BAD copy of Photoshop CS6 and am stuck, since there doesn't seem to be ANY support from Adobe for this.
I am subscribed to CC and this problem does not happen in CC Bridge, but I want to maintain CS6 because I don’t trust Adobe to keep the CC price at something I can afford.
PLEASE can someone offer a suggestion???

You have thumbnails set to embedded.  They will not show edits unless you opt for some version of HQ thumbnails, but these take up a lot more room and and slower to build.  Your choice.

  • Changes I make in camera raw do not show up or update in bridge.

    Greetings.
    I’m working in PS CS4 in XP(government).
Changes I make in camera raw do not show up or update in bridge.
These images DO process with the changes when I run my actions.
For example: Open images in bridge. Edit. Open reaming images in camera raw. Push the images two stops in camera raw. Close camera raw. Images in bridge show no change. Run action to turn raw files into psd. Final PSD appear pushed two stops.
    Purging Cache make no difference.
    Thoughts?

You are using Embedded thumbnails.  These are small and fast, but do not show raw edits.
You need to use one of the HQ thumb options to see the edits.

  • No matter what I try, Camera Raw will not update from 8.3 to 8.4.1 in PS CC

I've tried completely uninstalling Bridge and Photoshop CC and reinstalling and I'm still on Camera Raw 8.3.
    It just will not update.
I also tried the link to manually install and it just says the patch is not applicable.
Any ideas why even after completely removing and reinstalling both Bridge and Photoshop my Camera Raw will not update?
    Thanks

When I replied to your post, I was replying to an original post that came in via my e-mail today at 2:30 and was the most recent thing in the ACR forum and had remained unanswered for 1.5 hours, so I decided to reply.  Had your post been put in a forum I subscribed to and happen to notice days ago, then I might have seen it, then, but didn't see it until this afternoon, and the e-mail version of your post only had the scant initial information, not the subsequent question and answer about your OS that you'd replied to on the other forum.  So as you say, I had not read the thread, because it was on a forum I didn't subscribe to.  So be shocked and perhaps awed as is necessary.  My treat.
Second, I did make a typo when I said Win8/8/8.1 and it should have been Win7/8/8.1, which might have been deduced by the repeated 8, so you could have asked for clarification.
Seeing as you're on Windows 7 which ACR 8.4 should be compatible with, one minor detail is that I see in the compatible Lightroom 5.4 requirements that it needs Windows 7 Service Pack 1, which would mean you'd want to be caught up on your Windows Updates, which I would assume you'd be.
There are direct links to ACR 8.4(.1) on Jeff Tranberry's blog that are distinct for PS-CS6 and PS-CC so maybe that is what isn't right?
    Keeping Photoshop Up-To-Date
You might check what version of PS-CC you have.  14.2.1 is the most current, and maybe that is prerequisite to ACR 8.4.1, I don't know.
If worse comes to worse, uninstall everything Adobe, then run the CS Cleaner then re-install CC Desktop and see what happens as you install PS-CC and it's updates.  It may need to be run several times.
Once you're ready to retry your installs, you also might try to Quit CC Desktop and run it As Administrator in case there is a permissions issue.
The CS Cleaner can be found, here:

  • Camera Raw does not read previously saved XMP files (Canon 60D)

    Hi,
I want to ask if it is a real problem or just me doing something wrong.
I open RAW files made with Canon 60D (Photoshop CS5, Camera Raw 6.6), then I do what a do (cropping, exposure changes, sharpen ... etc.), then I click the Done button. Camera Raw saves XMP files along with the RAW files. After this I want to do some more editing, I open the RAW files, but Camera RAW does not "remember" what it did just minutes before. I suppose that it is not reading the XMP files that it created.
So is it me or it is some kind of bug?
I don't have this problem when editing RAW files made with Canon 400D.
    Thanks for your time!

If I understand correctly the issue is not viewing in Bridge, but rather that ACR doesn't remember the changes.
There is a discussion in the Camera Raw forum about this issue of not always reading the changes after clicking Done in ACR.

Yes, ACR doesn't remember/show the changes I made.
It seems that I have the same problem as the other forum member from the link. I tried to recreate the issue, but this time all went well and ACR displayed the changes I made ...
It is strange because I had the issue numerous times on two different windows PC's ...

  • Camera Raw synchronization not working

I'm using camera raw 8.1 in photoshop cs6 extended.  When I select several images in bridge to synchronize the settings camera raw will not change all of the files.  It will work occassionally when I select only 1 file to sync.  This was working in the past and just started acting up.  Any advice or how I need to set preferences?  Thanks.

    Hi there.
I have exactly the same problem with Bridge CC 6.0.1.6 and ACR 8.3.0.141. This always worked properly when I was using Bridge CS3. I am using a Mac running Mac OS 10.8.5
The only change on the detail tab that is consistently synchronized to all selected photos is the white balance (when not set to auto). I called Adobe tech support last night. They gave me the following steps. It appeared momentarily to resolve the problem but it persists. I already had the latest Bridge and ACR versions installed and the permissions on the cache folder was set correctly.
    Howard
    Troubleshooting steps from Adobe:
Please follow these steps to begin with basic trouble shooting regarding your bridge cc issue:
    1. Update to the latest version of Bridge.
Download the latest Bridge update by going to Help > Updates or from the Adobe website at http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates.html.
    2. Reset preferences, reset the default workspace, and purge the cache.
You can also purge the cache by doing the following:
Choose Edit > Preferences (Windows) or Bridge > Preferences (Mac OS).
    Select the Cache panel.
    Click Purge Cache.
Or, you can manually purge the cache by doing the following:
    Bridge > Preferences (Mac OS).
    Select the Cache panel.
Look at Location and note the path for the Cache folder.
In the Finder, navigate to the Cache folder.
Drag the Cache folder to the Trash (Mac OS).
    3. Reset the permissions of Application Support Folder:
In top menu Bar -> Go->Go to folder
    Type in ~\Library
Select Application Support right click get info and Under sharing Permissions please change all permission to read and write.

  • Camera Raw adjustments not applying to batch process

    Hey friends,
On a 2008 iMac running 10.5.7, latest version of Camera Raw & Bridge/Photoshop, I opened 650 Canon 5D raw files in Camera Raw, made adjustments to most of those files, then clicked Done.
In Bridge Im batch processing all the files to Jpeg, now in Bridges thumbnails I can see all the adjustments I did in Camera Raw were applied, but yet when I batch process them, no adjustments are being applied, any idea what the issue could be?

Re: Warning serious issue with ACR edits not updating
How did you record the Photoshop batch action? Make sure the "Image Setting" item is checked in the setting flyout menu when recording any actions that open raw image if you want each image's setting to be used.
The preview building process in Bridge has nothing to do whatsoever with the saving of image settings.
Also, if you are using any PhotoKit product, you need to update to the most recent version.

  • Camera Raw adjustments not applying

Hi everyone, Im on a mac using Photoshop CS4, Camera Raw 5.0.
In Camera Raw I made adjustments to about 277 Canon CR2raw files then hit Done, so the adjustments would take place, then In Photoshop I batched the 277 files to Jpg output, and I noticed that the adjustments I made in Camera Raw did not take effectinthe batch process, Am I missing something or doing something wrong? I do this same process in CS3 without issue.

    Thomas,
Could you explain in more detail exactly how you are doing the batching? Are you using Image Processor? Are you generating Jpegs directly from within ACR? Are you using Photoshop>Batch from Bridge?
If I remember correctly there are some specific "gotchas" related to using Photoshop>Batch. Jeff talks about this in his book. I think it is related to the "Overide action open" option. One way uses the same recipe for all images in the batch and another way uses each image's recipe. Something like that.
If all you are doing is converting to Jpeg, I strongly recommend using Image Processor or Russell Brown's 1-2-3 Process (Image Processor + a few additional options).

  • "open in camera RAW" is not an option in the file menu

Using Photoshop/Bridge CS3, Windows XP Pro SP2, and ACR 4.5, the "open in camera RAW" is not an option in the file menu. Why is this option missing and how can I get it back?

    Hi,
The D610 requires camera raw 8.3 which is not compatible with your PSE 10.
You need to upgrade to PSE 12 (or later) or use the free Adobe DNG converter. The converter will take a flder containg your NEF files and converte them to DNG files. The DNG files can then be used by PSE 10.
