Camera Raw disappeared Mac OS 10.6.8 CS5 Extended v12.0

Camera Raw disappeared Mac OS 10.6.8 CS5 Extended v12.0. So has my Microtek Scanner (crashes). I've been told that upgrading to OS 10.6.8 caused corruption to the drivers. But both worked for long time with 10.6.8.
I had Camera Raw but haven't used it for long time. Now it is just not there. I reinstalled it and today, installed the patch. But still no Camera Raw. Any ideas? Thanks.

Where are you trying to look for Camera Raw? From inside of Photoshop? If so, you won't "find it" because Camera Raw is called on when you open a raw digital capture.
Try opening Bridge and navigate to a folder with digital images, then open the image from Bridge, it should launch Camera Raw. If it doesn't either you are not opening a raw image or Camera Raw is not installed.
Camera Raw can also open flat TIFFs and JPEGs, you can use the Bridge command Open in Camera Raw under the Fie menu...

    Any ideas?

My student has been using Lightroom 4 with Photoshop CS5 on her Mac for well over a year. Because of the difference between the Camera raw version available to her in Photoshop CS5 and the raw process in Lightroom 4, she has been exporting her raw images from Lightroom and choosing the "Render using Lightroom option when it popped up in the dialogue box. She has been doing this for over a year and a half without any problem. Today when she hit Command E no dialogue box appeared and the image just opened in Photoshop. I'm concerned that all of her Lightroom edits are not being rendered to Photoshop. Anyone have an idea as to how we can get the "Render using Lightroom" dialogue back?

  • LR5 wants update to Camera Raw 8.1 to edit in Photoshop (CS5). Can the LR5 dialogue box be ignored?

Does anyone know how i can update camera raw 6 to camera raw 8.1? When working in lightroom 5, when i ctrl-e to edit in photoshop, i get a dialog box saying i need camera raw 8.1. I have photoshop cs5, windows 7, 64 bit, camera raw 6. I dont have creative cloud. Ive tried installing adobe updater, but just get redirected to CC. Any ideas where/how I can get camera raw 8.1? Thank you.

Photoshop CS5 is only compatible with Camera Raw up to version 6.7

Camera Raw 8.1 is only compatible with CS6+ (including CC). 8.1 is not compatible with CS5.

See for yourself which version of ACR is needed for that camera’s RAW files
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
then check your version (Photoshop > About Plug-In > Camera Raw).
Your version of Photoshop does not support that version of ACR.
You could use the free DNG Converter.

  • Camera raw 7.2 will not install within CS5.5, but need it to read nrw files from P7700.

camera raw 7.2 will not install within CS5.5, but need it to read nrw files from P7700. Besides DNG Converter, what can I do to use files directly?

Your next option is to upgrade photoshop. If you can't afford the full version (less than $20/month) you could get elements, it uses the latest version of camera raw, but I think it is a stripped down version though.

  • Is there a Camera Raw plug-in 8.5 for Photoshop CS5?  I only see it for CS6 and CC.

cr 6.7 is the latest version compatible with ps cs5.
you can use the stand-alone free dng converter or upgrade your ps.

  • Wie bekomme ich das aktuelle Camera Raw 8.7.1 Modul in meine CS5????

Wie bekomme ich das aktuelle Camera Raw 8.7.1 Modul in meine CS5????

You can't get it. The most current version of Camera Raw that can be used in Photoshop CS5 is Camera Raw 6.7. You need Photoshop CS6 or Photoshop CC in order to use Camera Raw 8.7.1. You can download and use DNG converter version 8.7.1 and create DNG (digital negative) copies of your images that can be used with what you have now.

  • Photoshop won't open Raw images with my new Camera Canon 6D help! I use Photoshop CS5 extended version.

    Hello,
I got a new camera and Photoshop and Lightroom won't open Raw images with my new Camera Canon 6D help! I use Photoshop CS5 extended version. and Lightroom 3

    Good news and bad news:
The bad news is that you need CS6 or higher to open 6D RAWs. (The 6D didn't get support until Camera Raw 7.3; 7.0 premiered in CS6.) You can choose to upgrade (I'd recommend skipping CS6 and go straight for CC 2014 for $10/month) *OR*...
...the good news is that the DNG Converter can help you convert your RAWs into DNGs for use in CS5 and Lightroom 3.

  • Is camera raw filter available with LR 3 or CS5?

Is camera raw filter available with LR 3 or CS5?

There has been a Camera Raw plug-in for Photoshop for many versions by now.
There is a new Camera Raw filter in PS CC—something that allows you to use the camera raw plug-in as a smart filter for a layer.
The Develop panel in Lightroom has the same adjustments as the Camera Raw plug-in for PS.
So depending on what you mean by “Camera Raw Filter” the answer is either LR3-No, CS5-No for the filter in PS-CC, or LR3-Yes, CS5-Yes if you mean the CR functionality.

  • Clarity slider in camera raw disappeared when I installed CS3 Bridge on my new mac laptop

I have recently installed CS3 bridge on to my new mac book pro and when I went into camera raw to edit photos, the clarity slider has dissappeard.
I had bridge intall on my previous laptop, the same one, and the clarity slider was there.
I have tryed up dates but they have made no differance.
    I'm running 2.0.0.975
    Thanks for any help!!
    Deb

That's an obsolete, super-buggy version of Bridge, but the clarity slider should not have disappeared, of course.
You should be at Bridge 2.1.1.9.
Try updating to Bridge 2.1.1.9 in the hope that the updater fixes your bad install, but if that doesn't do it, you're going to have to re-install from scratch.
Of course, your new MacBook Pro must have come with Mountain Lion 10.6.8, which so far has proven to be one Apple's worst OS offerings, and there so guarantee that CS3, even with its updates. will work well with new OS.
    Wish you good luck!

  • Camera Raw and Mac 10.5.6, CS3 and Canon 5D Mark II

Just got the 5D Mark II and have CS3 installed (Mac OS). Is there an update for Camera Raw - Photoshop cannot read the files

    Gordon,
Jeff just gave you the solution. You must first convert your raw files to DNG files with the latest version of the DNG Converter, 5.2.
Then you can open those DNG files with ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) 4.6 hosted by CS3.
You will never be able to open your Canon raw files from that camera directly in CS3. CS3 is not shipping anymore, so there will be no updates for it, ever. You will have to convert your files every time you shoot with that camera, until you upgrade to CS4.
However, Adobe Camera Raw 5.2 is soooooo far ahead of ACR 4.x, that upgrading to CS4 just to use ACR 5.2 is a no-brainer. I upgraded on that basis alone myself.
    If you do upgrade,
    this book
is highly recommended reading for you.

  • How to instal camera raw in mac

Hi, I'd be obliged if someone could advise me how to instal camera raw 8 into an imac.
    many thanks

If you have Photoshop CS6 or higher, you already have Adobe Camera Raw 8.  What you want is to update ACR to version 8.6.  You can do that automatically through the Help > Updates menu item.
If you have a lower version of Photoshop, you cannot run any version of ACR 8.x.
If you don't have Photoshop at all, then you need to buy it first.
For the next time you post, please give explicit, detailed information:

  • Why do I get corrupted JPEGs when saving images in Camera Raw, CS6, Mac 0S Mavericks

I occasionally get corrupted JPEG files when processing RAW files in Camera Raw. The images will have lines of pixels that ar out of line, and or whole sections will be truncated and show white or black. I'm using PS CS6, Camera Raw 8.6 on a Mac with OSx Mavericks. Not sure, but it might have something to do with the Bridge Cache, which also acts up when it's getting full. Anyone else have this problem, or any advice.
    Thanks!

right click on the jpeg (the other mouse button then you use to click with) or on trackpad, hold down control and click, in the menu that pops up, click on "get info" next, if the box labeled "locked" is checked, uncheck it. Down at the bottom, there should be a box with your user name, "staff" and "everyone". to the right of this are options to change these you may need to click the small padlock icon and enter in your password. then change all of the permissions to read and write.

  • Camera raw disappeared from a folder in bridge

Suddenly Camera Raw stopped working in ONE of my folders. In this folder, previews of my raw pics are shown in very low res and camera raw is not in the right click menu.
This is not the case in other folders, Camera raw works fine and it used to be fine in this folder.
Anyone have an idea of what is going on?

Thanks Curt I did search several threads but there were only questions, no answers, but I discovered that if I moved the files to a different folder and back, everything was back to normal.
Thanks for the tip on clearing the cache. I will try that next time the problem comes up and see if that will work. It would be a lot easier than to move the files out and back again.

  • My Bridge force closed and Camera Raw disappeared, how do I reinstall it on CS4

I am unable to open photos in Camera Raw after my Bridge Force closed in CS4. Does anyone have any suggestions?

To uninstall CS4, use the Adobe Uninstaller provided by Adobe when you first installed it.
Then re-install from scratch, from the original media, CD/DVD or download.
