Camera Raw editing is not enabled. Camera Raw editing requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature. This appears when the open in camera raw disc is clicked in bridge. any solutions??

Hi,
Open Adobe Photoshop first. Open a Camera Raw file in Photoshop.
Then open Bridge from within Photoshop from File> Browse in Bridge.
Then try to open Raw files in Bridge. That should work.
We need to launch the parent product of Bridge first ( in this case Photoshop). Then we need to open the images in Bridge and it should work normally.
Thank you,

Have you opened Photoshop or any other Adobe app that Bridge works with?  You need to do this if you've upgraded PS or just signed up for CC.

  • "Camera Raw Not Enabled" Camera Raw editing requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature.

I upgraded my computer yesterday to a Mac Mini 2014 from a Mac Mini 2011. Restored the drive from Time Machine.  The message I received when trying to use Photoshop was I had to many computer enabled. The option was to disable the other two and use this one, which I did. I tried to open a JPG in ACR and got the message "Camera Raw Not Enabled" Camera Raw editing requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature". If I open a Canon RAW file Adobe Camera Raw opens normally. Stumped.

The problem cleared itself. Don't  have a clue why.

Details, please.  Platform, exact version of Photoshop and of your OS, what trouble shooting steps you've taken so far, etc,
First thing to try, if it had worked before, is to Purge the Cache in Bridge.

  • Bridge's Parent Application is Not Active, Bridge Requires That a Qualifying Product Has Been Launch

Has anyone figured out how to fix this?  Tried  fixes & I still can not open RAW files from Bridge or Photoshop CS5.  I upgraded the Camera RAW plug-in and downloaded all fixes  for Photoshop CS5 ( done automatically through Adobe updater) so program is up to date.  I can open RAW files from mini bridge if I right click the photo BUT if I take the photo back to Bridge I can not open it there. ( I could do this before the upgrades so this is not different ). I have windows 7 professional 32 bit. I tried DNG files & .cr2 files.
In Photoshop CS4 I had the same problem ( almost the same error message...bridge requires a qualify product to be launched at least once... Camera RAW) and it was never fixed but I didn't understand the advantages of working in camera RAW. So it may be the same glich if I had it in CS4 & CS5. Thanks in advance for your help.

i ran into the same issue just this last week....and i finally found (at least in my case) the SOLUTION...i'd D/Led the trial version of adobe illustrator...something in that download, or the preference choices that followed afterward, KICKED my "Parent Application," which had always been photoshop CS4, to the curb!  realizing, as i've had to in the past,  that i should "look back to what you'd done just prior to the change (with its resulting ERROR message) and UNDO it."  ergo:  i dumped the trial version of illustrator, and VOILA!  i can now, once again, open jpgs by opting for "open in camera raw"  directly from the BRIDGE again...hope this helps!  too bad newly added ADOBE programs don't ask you to actually ESTABLISH which of their programs you would LIKE to designate as the PARENT APPLICATION when you're loading  said new software!

Usually this points to having some kind of earlier trial version still installed on your system. However without more details you are not likely to find an answer. Try this for a start:

We are a retail shop which has a copy of AppleCare Protection plan. The box is not sealed. How can I tell if the product has been registered or not.

Since the only thing needed in that box is the small piece of paper with the (very long) registration code on it (usually found inside the booklet), see if that is actually there and, if it is, call Apple at 800-275-2273 and ask to be transferred to the Applecare department. Here is the link to the Applecare plan - just in case you may need it, see the fax numbers listed under para. 9 (Cancellation).

  • Camera Raw editing is not enabled - ACR5.4 Vista 64bit

When I use Bridge, and right click and select to open a raw file in Camera Raw, I get this message:
"Camera Raw editing is not enabled. Camera Raw editing requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature".
There is no problem in Bridge when opening a raw file in Camera Raw when just Open With (PS) or double-clicking
I have seen many have the same problem, and I have tried most of the hints found in forums, but no luck.
I running Windows Vista 64bit. Installed and activated Photoshop CS4 in the standard directories and installed ACR 5.4 manually as described by Adobe by copy the plugin files to folders:
    Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS4\File Formats\
    Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS4\File Formats\
There are no other files in this 2 directories.
I have tried purging cache, and have closed both Brigde and Photoshop and startet Bridge from Photoshop by using -file, -browse in Bridge. And still the same problem.
There are no errors in the files alm.log and amt.log in %temp% directory.
    Thanks for any help

I have just upgraded to Win 7 64bit and have had a similar problem with getting "Camera Raw editing is not enabled" in Bridge
I had installed CS4 as a trial whilst I tested that my install of Win 7 was OK
When I activated CS4 I was using CS4 64 bit and never got the "I have deactivated the software from another machine" question
I tried lost of things to get Camera Raw editing in Bridge and all failed.
When I tried CS4 32 bit it wanted to activate the software - it  asked the "I have deactivated the software from another machine" question and then rejected the activation as two PC were using the key.
I deactivated CS4 from the 64bit side and removed the key
Then I activated using CS4 32bit - all seems OK now
    Hope this works for you

  • Camera Raw Editing is not enabled strikes again

Hello everyone, I've always open raw files from bridge in ACR, since last evening, suddenly, while I am trying to open an image in  camera raw I keep getting an error message that  reads " Camera Raw editing is not  enabled.  Camera Raw editing required that a qualifying product  has been launched at least once to enable this feature." At last I cannot open files in ACR from Bridge at all. After a search in the net I've seen that it seems to be a rather common trouble but none of the solutions I've found (I've read of all in this forum) works for me. Did someone found a final solution to it? Im going crazy traying to understand what is that qualifying product in the message.
    Regards
    Marco

FWIW, this has happened to me twice as a result of a nightmare computer upgrade. I had to change my motherboard and CPU several times and twice, these different combinations caused Adobe activation to become confused. I got an error about number of activations exceeded and also this error about Camera Raw editing is not enabled. How I solved it:
    a) Called Adobe Support who were able to reset the number of activations, activated Creative Suite.
    b) Exit all open Adobe applications and restart them, it worked.
This is a minor varation on the previous user's comment, where deactivation/activation worked. I believe that Adobe Support did the deactivation.
It would be nice if Adobe activation were smarter; I've only ever had one computer, never two and certainly never three.

    Hi,
After installing CS6, whenever I try to open Camera Raw Preference, I get this error message ....
Bridge's parent application is not active. Bridge requires that a qualifying product has been lauched at least once to enable this feature
Can anybody kindly tell me exactly what this means, and more important, how to fix this problem?
    Thank you.

Most of the time it means you have an expired Adobe trial on your computer.  Bridge is waiting for it to give command.  Find and uninstall the trial.
