    Time Machine
Auriez-vous quelques pistes à me soumettre.
    Merci à vous.

  • Camera Raw 7.1's lens correction tab is wrong

I have Photoshop CS6 with Camera Raw 7.1 on Windows 7. However it seems that my CR is different from what I usually see. For example in the ''Lens Correction'' tab you are supposed to have only 2 tabs: Profile and Manual. However I have 3: the last 2 + Color. Also I don't have the ''remove chromatic aberration'' checkbox.
I am at a total loss...

Ryenke, what you are calling "full functionality" was replaced by an automatic sheme that's enabled by a single checkbox.
When it works, it's very, VERY good.
When it fails to detect the CA automatically - which has shown to occur with certain egregiously fringed images - then you no longer have a manual backup.
There have been requests to return the functionality, and so far those requests have been either ignored or it has been suggested to try to work around the problem other ways (e.g., by using the newer color fringing controls, which don't directly address the issue).

  • Camera Raw Filter is not working correctly in Photoshop CC when applied to video layer

With Photoshop CC, when editing a video and adding a "Camera Raw Filter" to some video layer, the effect will be applied only to one frame and not to the whole video layer.
Should it not add that filter to the whole layer (e.g. all frames in that clip)?

Either it's a bug or a limitation. Haven't yet tried this, so I can't tell you whether it works as it should or is acting up... I would however assume that within what one can expect it works as designed - ACR doesn't have a built-in timeline, so there would be nothing for the PS routines to request retrieval of frames from withing the SO.

Only Photoshop and Bridge use the Camera Raw plugin directly. The next release of Lightroom will contain the same version of Camera Raw as the current beta plugin.

  • Bridge and Camera RAW preferences not working

    I'm setting up a new Macbook Pro, late 2013 15", 10.9.2
CS6 Production Premium, Also have Indesign CS6, LR5, Acrobat Pro 11. Camera RAW is version 8.4. Everything is up to date.
Bridge and Camera RAW preferences are not working correctly. Bridge prefs related to Bridge display, e.g. color theme, text beneath thumbnails, favorite locations, etc.. all work fine. Bridge prefs open and close fine with no errors. "Double Click Edits Camera RAW Settings in Bridge" does not take. Photoshop launches to open Camera RAW regardless of whether this is checked or not. Camera RAW preferences will not open. Selecting "Camera RAW Preferences" from Bridge does nothing. Camera RAW seems to work fine hosted by Photoshop.
I tried a new user with the same results.
What's up with this? Anyone else seeing this? Solution?

  • +++ Adobe Camera Raw - Frequently Asked Questions +++

Q: Is my camera supported by Adobe Camera Raw (ACR)?
A: Here is the list of cameras officially supported by the current version of Adobe Camera Raw and Digital Negative (DNG) converter. The page also provides links to the current version of ACR and DNG converter for both Mac and Windows.
Q: what version of Camera Raw should I install?
A: Photoshop CS6: see first question.
Photoshop CS5: Camera Raw 6.7 Win | Mac
Photoshop CS 4: Camera Raw 5.7 Win | Mac
Photoshop CS 3: Camera Raw 4.6 Win | Mac
Photoshop CS 2: Camera Raw 3.7 Win | Mac
Photoshop CS: Camera Raw 2.4 Win | Mac
    For Photoshop Elements, Windows:
Photoshop Elements 10: (See first question)
Photoshop Elements 9: Camera Raw 6.5
Photoshop Elements 8: Camera Raw 6.2
Photoshop Elements 7 and 6:  Camera Raw 5.6
Photoshop Elements 5: Camera Raw 4.6
Photoshop Elements 4: Camera Raw 3.7
Photoshop Elements 3: Camera Raw 3.6
    For Photoshop Elements, Macintosh:
Photoshop Elements 10: (See first question)
Photoshop Elements 9: Camera Raw 6.5
Photoshop Elements 8: Camera Raw 6.2
Photoshop Elements 6: Camera Raw 5.6
    Photoshop Elements 4.0.1: Camera Raw 4.6 ( 4.1 under Mac OS 10.3)
Photoshop Elements 3: Camera Raw 3.6
Q: What version of Camera Raw started to support my camera?
A: This page: http://www.adobe.com/go/kb407111 lists when support for the raw files of your camera was added in Camera Raw. If the version listed is higher than the one supported by your version of Camera Raw, you first need to convert the files to DNG using the latest version of the DNG converter in order to open them in Camera Raw.
Q: I do not have the latest version of Photoshop, how can I open the Raw files from my new camera?
A: Only the current version of Photoshop will receive ACR updates that add support for the latest cameras. However, you can download the latest version of the DNG converter, and use it to transform your raw files to the universal DNG format. Camera Raw 2.4 in Photoshop CS and all newer versions of Camera Raw compatible with your version of Photoshop will be able to open the DNG files. Photoshop 7 and ACR 1.0 do not support DNG, therefore you will need to upgrade to the latest version of Photoshop.
Q: When will the new update of Adobe Camera Raw be released?
A: Adobe cannot comment on unannounced products, however, it is expected that ACR and DNG converter will be simultaneously updated 3 or 4 times per year (i.e. every 3 or 4 months).
Q: What does "Unofficial Support" for a camera mean?
A: Unofficial support means that Adobe's Quality Engineering department has not tested the support to the degree that they want, and thus cannot guarantee the results. So we don't include the camera in our official lists, and don't provide any technical support. Unofficial support means "use at your own risk".
Q: How do I know that Adobe Camera Raw is installed correctly?
A: For Photoshop CS customers, the most efficient way to ensure that you have the latest Camera Raw update installed correctly is to choose the Updates option from the help menu. For Photoshop Elements customers the best way to verify that the Camera Raw plug-in is installed correctly is to make sure it appears (only once) in the "About Plug-in" menu (see: Photoshop menu on a Mac or Help menu on a PC). The correct version is displayed when you pick its name and see its about box. If "Camera Raw" is not in this list, you have not installed it correctly.
Q: Why is the profile listed in the Calibration tab showing a version of Adobe Camera Raw that's older than I am using ?
A: What you are seeing is normal, and is due to the fact that the built-in profile for your particular camera model hasn't changed between that version of Adobe Camera Raw and the version you're using now. If you see the profile listed as "beta" then your camera has only unofficial support.
Q: Why is there more than one profile listed in the Calibration tab of Adobe Camera Raw?
A: The built-in profile for your particular camera model has changed since it was first supported. The profile shown by default identifies the latest version of Adobe Camera Raw in which the profile was updated. Other profiles in the drop-down list identify those included with earlier versions of Adobe Camera Raw, and are available in case you want to maintain compatibility with earlier versions.
Q: My camera is listed, but Photoshop cannot read its raw files.
A: Download and install the most recent update to Adobe Camera Raw.
Q: Where can I download the latest version of Adobe Camera Raw?
A: Adobe Camera Raw for: Macintosh and Windows
Q: I am trying to replace my existing ACR plug-in with a more recent version, but cannot find ACR in my Photoshop/Plug-in/File Formats folder. Where is it located now?
A: As explained in the "Readme", which can be found on the ACR download page, the correct location is:
    Photoshop CS2
    Mac: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins/CS2/File Formats/
    Win: \Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-ins\CS2\File Formats\
    Photoshop CS3
    Mac: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins/CS3/File Formats/
    Win: \Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-ins\CS3\File Formats\
Note that "Common Files" is localized in non-english versions of Windows.
Q: Why do I only see a small generic icon in Adobe Bridge instead of a thumbnail when I browse the folder containing my RAW files?
A: Bridge occasionally has difficulty with RAW files, but this is usually because the user has installed ACR into the wrong location or browsed the folder prior to installing the ACR plug-in that provides support for their particular camera model. The fix for this issue is usually to make absolutely sure that ACR is installed correctly, then purge the Bridge cache. If you're in the habit of using the Distributed cache (Bridge 1.x) it would be prudent to manually delete the cache files from the folder containing your RAW files.
Q: Whenever I open an image in Adobe Camera Raw a small explanation mark within a yellow triangle appears in the upper right hand corner of the image.
A: This symbol indicates that a high quality preview is being generated by Adobe Camera Raw. It should disappear after a couple of seconds.
Q: How do I turn off Auto Adjustments in Adobe Camera Raw 3.x?
A: Open Adobe Camera Raw. On the Mac press Cmd+U or on the PC Ctrl+U. This keystroke combination toggles Auto Adjustments On and Off. Alternatively, disable the Auto Adjustments setting from the fly-out menu adjacent to the Setting drop-down menu. If you want the default to be Off for Auto Adjustments simply choose "Save New Camera Raw Default" from the fly-out menu adjacent to the "Settings" drop-down menu then choose Done.
Q: What about Adobe Camera Raw 3.7 and newer versions?
A: Camera Raw 3.7 no longer supports per slider auto adjustments. One Auto control at the top of the panel now sets the Exposure, Shadows, Brightness, and Contrast sliders to their auto values. The Default control at the top of the panel sets these same four sliders to their default values. The keyboard shortcut for the Auto control is CMD/CTRL-U.
The keyboard shortcut for the Default control is CMD/CTRL-R.
Double clicking on a slider to set that single slider to its default value.
Shift double clicking on a slider to set that single slider to its auto value.
Q: Why do I get the the following message: "Unable to create an .xmp sidecar file. The image settings will instead be stored in the Adobe Camera Raw database."
A: This message means that Adobe Camera Raw is unable to write to the XMP sidecar file. Either the media is read-only (e.g. a CD), or you don't have write access to the folder containing the image, or the existing XMP sidecar file is locked.
Q: I cannot see all the tools and buttons of Adobe Camera Raw.
A: Set your monitor resolution to the minimum required for Photoshop CS and higher, i.e. 1024x768.
Q: Where can I obtain a listing of Adobe Camera Raw keyboard shortcuts and modifiers?
A: On the Photoshop online help file.
Q: When I open my Nikon NEF files, all I see is the simple version of the raw dialog.
A: You are running Nikon's plug-in, not Adobe's. Delete from Photoshop's plug-in folder and all subfolders all copies of the "Nikon NEF plugin". Nikon automatically installs this plug-in in up to two places inside Photoshop's plug-in folder, and both must be deleted. Otherwise it overrides the Adobe plug-in. An alternative to the deletion is adding ~ in front of the Nikon plug-ins names.
Q: I installed the update. I can now open my raw files, but I still cannot see thumbnails in the file browser.
A: Purge the file browser cache for the problem folder. Tools > Cache > Purge cache for this folder.
Q: Is it better to resize my images in Camera Raw, or in Photoshop?
A: The resampling code is fairly similar to (but not exactly the same as) the "Bicubic Sharper" resampling in Photoshop CS and CS2. It does not make very much difference which stage you do the resampling in. The exception is non-square pixel cameras (Nikon D1x and Fuji S2 Pro), for which it is best to upsample one size step in Camera Raw if you need a larger image.
Q: What are raw images, and how do they differ from JPEG ones?
A: Read this whitepaper (1MB PDF) written by Bruce Fraser for a concise answer.

    You can check compatibility yourself:
    1.  Go to this page to see the different releases:  http://forums.adobe.com/thread/311515?tstart=0
    2.  Navigate into the download link for the appropriate version of Camera Raw.
    3.  Follow the link to the ReadMe (e.g., http://www.adobe.com/special/photoshop/camera_raw/Camera_Raw_4.6_ReadMe.pdf).
    4.  Look to see whether your camera is supported.
    5.  If your camera is NOT supported, you can use the free Adobe DNG converter to create .dng files that your Camera Raw will be able to open.
Photoshop CS6 is anticipated to be out in a few months, and Camera Raw is supposed to have a whole new approach, so a lot of us are excited about anticipating that.

  • Premiere CC 2014 not recognizing Camera Raw edits on CinemaDNG footage

I'm using Camera Raw (through Adobe Bridge) to correct my CinemaDNG footage. When I import the footage into Premiere none of the adjustments I've made in Camera Raw appear on the footage. Pretty frustrating as Camera Raw is an incredible tool and I'd love to be able to use it with Premiere, especially since they are both Adobe creations. Anyone know a solution for this?

    Hi Ekombokom,
I replied to you here: Re: Adobe Camera Raw changes not reflecting in Premiere Pro

  • No Camera Raw Support in Bridge CS3

    Hi Folks,
my special Situation is that i first bougth CS3 Web Standard and now months later i installed the additional update for photoshop c3. My old cs2 standard is still installed.
but now, when i use the bridge, i miss all menu entries - supporting camera raw. e.g. for opening JPGs in camera raw. my raw-files will work with camera raw, cause i checked that box in photoshop preferences. there is another checkbox for jpgs, but i didn't want to open JPGs always in Camera RAW.
    What to do?

This is a user-to-user forum. If you would like to notify Adobe of the problem you are having, use the information on the following page to contact them:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/
Most of the key factors about this issue have been noted, but I will summarize and add as I am able.
    - I am assuming that everyone here is talking about CS3 Bridge, and so the following information has been tailored to the current version.
    - In my experience, to have Camera Raw features in Bridge, you must have installed Photoshop, a Creative Suite, or After Effects; installing Bridge with any other program will not include this feature.
    - The Camera Raw plug-in (Camera Raw.8bi) should be installed to the common files directory (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS3\File Formats), and all other instances of the plug-in should be removed. Also note that having any other files in this common files directory, including an .EXE file or a .DLL, can prevent the plug-in from loading.
    - Verify that Bridge is up-to-date with version 2.1.1.9. In addition to this update, Bridge requires that you have installed the Version Cue 3.1.0 Client update and the Asset Services 3.1.0 update for it to run correctly. All of these updates can be obtained through Adobe Updater (Help->Updates in Photoshop) or on the following page:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/updates
    - Check that you are running the latest version of Camera Raw. At the time of this writing, it was 4.4.1.
    - If you can access it, and you are having problems opening TIFF or JPEG images in Camera Raw, open the Camera Raw preferences (under the Edit menu). Make sure the two options on the bottom are checked ("Always open JPEGs..." and "Always open TIFFs...").
    - Try enabling the following options in the Bridge preferences and then restart the application before trying again:
    Click Edit--Preferences...
Under the General section, check the "Double-Click Edits Camera Raw Settings in Bridge" option.
Under the Thumbnails section, check the "Prefer Adobe Camera Raw for JPEG and TIFF Files" option.
    - Try resetting the Bridge preferences and cache to see if that resolves the issue. To do this, hold down CTRL when you launch Bridge, check all three options in the Reset Settings dialog, then click OK.
    - Try Steps 3, 4, and 11 in the following document:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=317912
    - Create a new user account on the computer, log out of your current one, log into the new one, and then see if the Camera Raw items in Bridge function correctly there. If you are in an office environment, create a local account that does not log onto the network domain. (You may have to contact your IT department to have rights to create local accounts.)
If you current user account in Windows is a "standard" or "limited" then compare to how it works in an administrator account. If it does not function in an existing admin account, create a new admin account and try it.
I hope this was of some assistance.

  • Even though I have checked "Automatically open all supported TIFF's" in Camera RAw Preferences - My tiff files do not open up in camera RAW What is the problem?

Even though I have checked "Automatically open all supported TIFF's" in Camera RAw Preferences - My tiff files do not open up in camera RAW. How can I correct the problem?

What kind of TIFFs?  Are they multi-layered, for instance?  ACR will not open layered files.

  • Camera Raw Plug-In V6.3.0.79 Problems

    BACKGROUND
I am running Elements 9 V9.0.2 on an iMac with V6.3.0.79 of the Camera Raw Plug-In.
I am totally new to Elements as of five weeks ago.
The Camera Raw Plug-In worked fine for the first several weeks.
Now, it locks me out of doing anything to a file once I go through Camera Raw - Open the file into the Elements Editor - try to do anything(i.e. duplicate background)
    PROBLEM
Sometime in the last few weeks, the Camera Raw Plug-in stopped working correctly:
1- Now, anytime I open a file into Camera Raw and
a- do nothing to file in Camera Raw OR
b- do anything simple/complex in Camera Raw
2- Then from Camera Raw choose the Open Button to go into the Elements Editor
3- The file is always "locked" - I can't even duplicate the background - all functionality is ghosted out.
4- Yet I can take that same file and go straight into the Elements Editor and I can duplicate the background.
5- This is not the way the Camera Raw plug-in worked for several weeks - I could duplicate the background in the Editor after going through Camera Raw.
    ATTEMPTED SOLUTIONS
1- I have reinstalled Elements 9 (and the Camera Raw Plug-In) three times - each time the install is totally successful
2- I have checked several forums I found nothing that would give a clue as to a possible solution
    POSSIBLE PROBLEM?
1- The only additional related software that I have newly installed around the time of the first occurance of this problem is Elements+
2- I am not saying that Elements+ is an issue, but it is the only "new" thing I can think of that may relate to the problem
3- I have left Elements+ out of the picture when I did the above 3 reinstalls.
    4- Nothing changes the problem
Does anyone have any ideas about what may be causing this?

    1. Yes there is no point in opening a jpeg from camera raw as 16 bit.
    2. Raw images have the most headroom for post processing and a much smoother tonal range.
    3. You can only do a small range of edits in PSE to 16 bit files, so the problem would remain. CS5 is required to use the full range of tools on large 16 bit files. I always shoot in raw and use Adobe Lightroom for all my raw processing and rarely need elements except for any artistic stuff and adding text. Aperture is available on the Mac and can now be purchased from the app store at a knock down price almost equivalent to Elements.

  • Camera Raw problem with Chromatic Aberration

I am using bridge CS5 (version 4.0.5.11) and working in camera raw. In the lens corrections tab in the manual control I have lost my chromatic Aberration controll, this is to say, it has disappeared. I now see under the manual tab I now see the transform controlls, below that I see lens vignetting. The chromatic aberration conrolls have disappeared, where have they gone and can I get them back and how do I do that?

They're gone for good as of Camera Raw 6.7 and newer.
Adobe replaced them with an automatic process they say is better, and to be honest it usually works very well.
Folks have posted about a few cases where it doesn't work, but they seem to be exceptions, and so far Adobe is showing no signs of restoring controls to the user.

  • Bridge: Saving color changes in Camera Raw through final output.

Hello, I am on a Mac and I am trying to use Bridge's Camera Raw to do some simple corrections. I have made a collection to select the photos I want to correct. Now that I am done I am trying to do a Batch Rename and select those files to output to a folder on my desktop. Problem is when I do this the photos look unchanged like I did not correct it. How can this be resolved?

    Yes, you're missing something.
Camera profiles are meant to account for different spectral distribution in different light sources, which is something else than different color temperatures. You still have to make all the normal adjustments, like white balancing, to get the image right.

  • Camera Raw 8.1 file size is different

When I open my Raw Images in Photoshop CS5 Camera Raw, The file size is correct It was shot at 240 ppi.
But when I open the same Image In Photoshop CS6 Camera Raw 8.1, the Image converts to 300 ppi.
Off course I can go ahead and open the file Inside the Photoshop and change the Image size when Resample Image Is checked  and change the Resolution to 240 ppi. But I don't want to do that
I want the Camera Raw 8.1  to open all my Raw Images AS IS, which is 240 ppi. Default size for Canon 5D.
    Thank you.

First of all, you're confusing resolution (ppi) with size (the weight of the file on disk) and possibly overlooking dimensions (so many pixels wide by so many pixels high).
In any event what ppi you set in camera is utterly irrelevant to Camera Raw.  ACR will open your file in whatever resolution you choose in your ACR workflow options.  If it opens at 300 ppi that's because that's what you chose in ACR.
In the ACR workflow options you get to choose the color space it will be converted into, the bit depth, the resolution (ppi) and any resizing you wish to do if possible.
