Camera  raw not closed???

When I go to use the download for camera raw 5.2 update, I keep getting a message that Bridge needs to be closed.Bridge is not open. I am using windows XP. Please help
Mike

Bridge in CS4 has a pre-start feature that starts part of the application during boot-up of your PC so that later Bridge comes up faster later on. This is probably what is hanging you up. Go into Edit>Preferences>Advanced to turn the feature off.
I believe you should also find a Bridge icon in the system tray and you can disable Bridge from there also, but since I don't normally have it enabled, I am not 100% sure.

In bridge i select a jpg image with cntrl r to open in camera raw but get "camera raw not available"  camera raw editing requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature.  I can open nef. in camera raw with no problem.

Hm, what I suggested might actually be a possibility then...
Close whatever version you have open first...
I think Adobe installs shortcuts for both 32 and 64 bit Photoshop in the start menu.
If you can't find the 32 bit Start menu entry, look for the 32 executable here (changing the CS version number to whatever yours is):
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Photoshop.exe

  • "Camera Raw Not Enabled" Camera Raw editing requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature.

I upgraded my computer yesterday to a Mac Mini 2014 from a Mac Mini 2011. Restored the drive from Time Machine.  The message I received when trying to use Photoshop was I had to many computer enabled. The option was to disable the other two and use this one, which I did. I tried to open a JPG in ACR and got the message "Camera Raw Not Enabled" Camera Raw editing requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature". If I open a Canon RAW file Adobe Camera Raw opens normally. Stumped.

The problem cleared itself. Don't  have a clue why.

  • Camera Raw not working with Photoshop and Bridge CS6

    Hi guys,
Had a hard-drive meltdown the other week and lost everything. I have re-downloaded and installed most of my important software, including the CS6 suite. I used to use camera raw alot with my .CR2 files and it worked fine for ages, now though, it doesn't work at all.
I have run an update and everything is up to date now, i've purged the cache and it's still not working, no preview on bridge or anything.
I have also tried going through the Camera raw updates on the Adobe website. I have tried deleting the plug in and redownloading it altogether too, no help.
Furthermore, when i try to open a .CR2 file through bridge into photoshop i get a message window:
    My Camera Raw Version:
    My photoshop version:
No preview of files in Bridge:
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Benjamin,
Yes I have tried that, my OS doesnt run it. I'm on:

  • Camera Raw not launching from within Bridge

When I click the iris button to start camera raw from Br, I get the following message- "Bridges parent application is not active_ Bridge requires that a qualifying product has been launched at leat once to enable this feature" I have launcched bridge from Photoshop. Excellent! Thanks ssprengel!

  • Camera Raw not accessible in Ps -Br Trial

When I click the iris button to start camera raw from Br, I get the following message- "Bridges parent application is not active_ Bridge requires that a qualifying product has been launched at leat once to enable this feature" I have launcched bridge from Photoshop. I am trying to oopen it for a Jpeg, which I understood work with Camera Raw.

OS Windows XP Professional 2002 SP3.
OK, now I have to leave you to the Window wizz kids, I'm only familiar with Mac.
However, the give versions seem correct but you seem to have installed PS as 32 bit instead of the 64 bit. Is that due to your XP 2002 system?? I have seen some discussions mentioning XP would not work correctly anymore with latest Adobe and other where stating that combined with service pack 3 it should do.
Adobe Camera raw is provided as a plug in and is able to work both through PS and Bridge, even simultaneously if your PC has enough power for it
But the ability or inability for 64 bit in XP could have caused your problem earlier on.
Don't know if you have to deactivate a trial version before uninstalling (don't suppose so) but deactivating using the help menu and clear preferences should be first, then the official uninstall procedure with the Adobe uninstaller with clear preferences and at last the Adobe Clean Tool.
Mixing up suites and single versions is also not sounding good, to be honest.
Curt and Yammer will know about the 64 bit issue.
And I don't want to start a different discussion but you are trying software based from 2011 on a system based from about 9 years earlier...

  • Camera Raw not available in Ps -Br Trial

How can I get Camera Raw to work in Photshop trial, after opening Br from Ps and clicking Camera Raw item The following message appears "Camera Raw editing not enabled"
"camera Raw editing requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature." Is a trial not a qualifying product?

    Hi,
I suggest posting this query in the Adobe Camera Raw or Adobe Photoshop forums.
    Thanks

  • Camera raw not enabled

I get this message when I try to open cr2 images in bridge
camera raw is not  enabled. Camera raw requires that  a qualifying  product has been launched at least once to enable this feature.
I also noticed that the thumnail previews are not sharp even though I have sharpening set in the preferences.

    Thanks for responding,
No it does not say launch PS and try again  it says that a qualifying  product has been launched at least once to enable this feature.  you have to respond with an ok
I am pretty sure that I downloaded the latest acr 7.4 because I thought that might solve the bug

  • Adjustment tools in Camera Raw not working

Downloaded CS 5 and opened Camera Raw, then attempted to use the adjustment tool and received the following message "Unable to create local adjustment.  All the local adjustment controls are set to have no effect on the image."  Can anyone provide assistance please and thanks?

I had the same problem and tried turning of GPU in Photoshop and in Lightroom which did not work, however in the RAW window when I found the preferences tab which is the tab with the 3 horizontal lines and unchecked GPU there Camera Raw did start working and the blue screen was replaced by my image.  Hope this clarifies it more and you get yours to wok also!

  • Upgrade of Camera Raw - not working

I am trying to edit photos from a Nikon D800 using Photoshop CS6.  Camera Raw plugin is 7.0.  Gives message that it cannot open file.  Looks like I need 7.1 or better.
When I go to help - update, I always get an "update unavailable" message.  Have allowed all Adobe products access through the firewall,
As a work around, I downloaded and executed Camera Raw and DMG 8.4, and it executed succssfully.  Add-on in Adobe still states it is 7.0 and it still will not open files.
    What do I do next???

It’s possible your OS is too old to support the newer ACR plugins and the update process isn’t smart enough to update you to the most recent oldest version that is compatible.
Use the manual install process on the following page to update to ACR 8.3 into CS6:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/camera-raw-84-support-policy.html
Keep in mind that this process is for rolling back from ACR 8.4 to ACR 8.3 but the ideas are the same for replacing an older version with ACR 8.3.

  • Syncronize Camera RAW not working when Auto is used

I have a problem with settings not being updated in Camera RAW when using the 'Auto' function.
I have to equalize exposure on a large number of RAW files (often 500+). The Auto function would be great, if it would only apply to the Exposure and not the other settings like contrast.
    To reproduce:
    Open 20 RAW files
    Select all images
Click 'auto' under the 'tint slider'
Observe that settings change on all images
Now change any of the following settings (but NOT the Exposure slider!):
    - Contrast
    - Highlights
    - Shadows
    - Whites
    - Blacks
Problem: only the settings on the first image are updated, the other images are not edited.
When you change the Exposure slider, the other settings are updated (probably because the 'auto' mode is disabled).
I have uploaded a small screen recording of this problem here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGx6wV5v774&feature=youtu.be
Using 'Synchronize' it is also not possible to copy over the settings to all images.
I contacted Adobe over the phone, but they can only give the usual nonsense (reset your preferences, reinstall Photoshop, etc).
I see other people with the same problem, did anybody find a solution or a workaround?

You now slide it up to open the camera instead of tapping.

  • CS5: Camera Raw Not Working

    Hello -
I am currently using CS5, and when I purchased it, I was under the assumption that it uses the new Camera Raw 6 Plug-In. Does it come with this Plug-In built in? Or do I need to download it? I cannot find a download page for it (unless it's not released yet) and Adobe's wording makes me assume it comes built in: "This powerful plug-in has been frequently updated to support more cameras and include more features and is available as part of Adobe Photoshop CS5".
If it did come built into the software, I don't think it is working properly for me and I was wondering if anyone else is having issues. My previous suite version was CS3, and I would select a photo in Bridge, open it up in Camera Raw to make corrections, and then from Camera Raw, I could open it into Photoshop to make further modifications.
With the new CS5, I cannot open any of my RAW images from Bridge into Photoshop. I have even tried using Mini-Bridge. It won't even open the image in Camera Raw first. I assumed the Plug-In must not be there, so I tried looking for Camera Raw 6 and since I couldn't find it, I tried downloading Camera Raw 5.7, and still no luck. It simply won't open my RAW images.
Can anyone shed some light on this matter?
    Other info that may help:
I use Mac OS 10.5.8 and I use a Canon EOS 5D. I also work off of a Lacie external hard drive if that makes a difference (which it shouldn't).

Adobe Camera RAW (ACR) 6.0 comes with Photoshop CS5, and gets installed with Photoshop CS5.
There is no separate download page because it comes with CS5.
You may have a bad install - try reinstalling.

  • Bridge and Camera Raw not installing correctly with Photoshop CS5

First time installing i got bridge to load, but camera raw did not work.  I had the notice at the end of instalation that there were numerous errors with the intall, totalling 13.
Uninstalled, and tried to reinstall.  I only got three errors, but now bridge is not on the computer or camera raw.
Fustrated, wondering if I should have gotten the disks intead of the online installer.

Try running the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and reinstalling. For everything else a look at the install logs would be required.

  • Latest Camera RAW not working from Bridge

Just update Camera RAW today. Tried to open a NEF file from Bridge to the new Camera RAW and nothing happens. Just get a warning tone. Attempted to open the Camera RAW preferences in Bridge. Window does not open.
The only way to open Camera RAW is to launch the NEF file into Photoshop.
Rebooted my MacBook Pro. Ran Disk Utility to repair permissions. Didn't help.
So is this version of Camera RAW flawed?

    Excellent! Thanks ssprengel!

  • Camera Raw not working/recognising CR2 files - CS5, Mac

I cannot get Camera Raw to work. It worked before but took some fiddling around to get it to work. I am using CS5 on a Mac. My camera is supported by the version of Camera Raw I have and it is the latest update for CS5. Help please.

    Hi there
    Thank you for your questions.
    I am using Mavericks.
    Camera is a Canon 6D.
Camera Raw is 6.7.1.340. According to Adobe my camera should be recognised by this.
This is the message I get when I try to open a CR2 file.
Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw. Please visit the Camera Raw help documentation for additional information.
Yes, all Readable Documents is selected in the first drop-down menu. Bottom drop-down menu is Camera Raw.
In Bridge the CR2 files appear as white rectangles instead of images.
I realise that I can convert my CR2 files to DNG but from what I have read on Adobe information I understand that this is not a requirment as Camera Raw should work without having to convert every image to DNG first - or am I completely misunderstanding this?
