Camera raw upgrade

I am trying to upgrade my camera raw plug-in to accept raw files from a FUJIFILMX100S. I have tried several plugin downloads, but none seem to work.
I am running PS CS5 on a MAC OSX 10.7.5.  My computer shows that all of the upgrades to my software are up to date. My current camera raw version is 6.7.1.340.

Don't see that listed, but FinePix X100s  required 7.4 or above.  THat needs CS6 or CC, or DNG converter.

I omitted to mention I have CS5 version of Photoshop. Using a new camera Nikon D600 produces "Nikon Electronic File" (.NEF) this is my RAW file I need to process.
Uh huh...and you'll need to convert those NEF files to DNG files using the free DNG Converter in order to use them with Photoshop CS5. Either that or upgrade to Photoshop CS6. BTW, it's prolly not a great idea to post your personal information on a forum...you might want to edit that out.

  • Installing Camera Raw Upgrade on Trial PS cs4

I am trying out the trial version of PS CS4 and wish to try the Camera Raw plug-in, but when I go to work on a RAW file (NEF as NIKON calls them) I get a message that the file could not be opened because it is not the right kind of document.  I a using Windows 7 and have the Nikon D3s creating my images.  I transfered them via NIKON Transfer and can open them in the NIKON Capture NX2 program but not PS CS4.
I searched the update section and found my Camera Raw plug-in is version 5.0.0.178, I was able to download the newer version 5.6 that came out in December of 1009, but when I try to install, it is unable to complete he upgrade.  I am wondering if the inability to update is due to this being a trial version, please help.

You can always do a manual install by following the link near the top of the main ACR 5.6 update page to the PSE (Elements) update process page and then look on that page for the Photoshop CS4 install instructions including the location(s) of plug-ins directory.
In the manual-install ZIP, there should be both a 32-bit and 64-bit version of the plug-in which you can just copy over the top of your existing .8BI file as well as an executable to run to install the camera profiles which you also need to do.

  • Camera raw upgrade cs6 nikon d610

I recently got a Nikon D610 to replace my D600 camerabut now it says my version of Camera Raw needs to be updated in order to open a photo. I have downloaded the Camera Raw.plugin version 8.5 (236) and placed it in Macintosh>Library>Appllication Support>Adobe>Camera Raw. That allowed me to see actual thumbnail images as I was downloading from the camera (instead of seeing a genertic icon) but when I go to open an image in CS6 is still says that I need the latest Camera Raw update. I have read through many pages of Adobe's site and am getting more and more aggravated. It would be nice if there were a Live Chat feature. Can anyone enlighten me as to what I should try next? Thanks!

Which version of mac os x are you using?
Where did you get the Camera Raw 8.5 plugin from?
The Camera Raw.plugin should go in
(the root library of your drive not the user library)
    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CS6/File Formats
Did you try Help>Updates from within photoshop cs6 to get the 8.6 camera raw plugin?

  • CS5 and LR4  camera raw upgrade for Nikon D610

I only see the CR upgrade 8.3 for PS6...I have PS 5 and LR 4...does that mean they are not compatable and I must upgrade to both...

If you upgrade Lightroom and install the 5.3RC you could then use your existing Photoshop as the external editor and render a copy with Lightroom adjustments and send that to Photoshop. Or, you could download the DNG converter and use it to create digital negative copies of your raw files. Those could be used with what you already have.

  • Do I need camera raw upgrade?

This text box appeared when I opened Lightroom today
Any suggestions on what I should do based on my spec:   can I download use cameraraw 5.7 for Lightroom or wont this work?
iMac - 1 year old - Intel processor
    Lightroom v 2.7
    Photoshop v CS3
    Mac OS 10.6

What the messege is telling you is Lightroom 2.7 is using the equivalent to ACR 5.7 and the latest version of ACR plugin for PS CS3 is 4.6. Its not possible to upgrage the ACR in CS3 to 5.7. If you choose open anyway then all the edits in LR may not be applied.
Probably the best option would be to choose "Render using Lighteroom", this will send a tiff/psd file to PS and by pass ACR but will have all your LR adjustments. There is nothing that ACR 4.6 can do that cannot be done in LR 2.7.

  • Camera Raw problem

I would like to be able to open a file that is already opened in editor?  The only way I can currently open one in camera raw is by going to the File dropdown, then Open As, then choosing Camera Raw, and then I get a default list of DSC files.  Prior to that it was a default list of BO files.  Very slow and awkward.
Yesterday(before my Camera Raw upgrade to 5.4 version, I was able to open any file from either Quick Fix or Full Edit and the first screen I got was the Camera Raw settings.  I know it can be done but I don't know how to get back there.
    Any help will be appreciated.

  • CAMERA RAW 7.1 POSSIBLE INCOMPATIBILITY WITH ELEMENTS 10

I HAVE A NEW CANON EOS 650D BUT AM UNABLE TO PROCESS MY RAW (CR2) IN ELEMENTS 10.
THE LATEST CAMERA RAW UPGRADE IS 6.7 BUT A LATER VERSION 7.1 APPEARS INCOMPATIBLE WITH ELEMENTS 10.
I APPRECIATE I CAN USE CANONS DPP PROGRAM BUT I DO NO FIND THIS AS GOOD AS ELEMENTS 10 PERSONALLY.
I HAVE ALSO TRIED TO USE THE DNG CONVERTER (V 6.7) BUT FOR SOME REASON IT IS NOT PICKING UP MY CR2 FILES FOR CONVERSION.
    CAN ANYONE ASSIST PLEASE?

I t looks like that camera should work with the 7.1 DNG Converter, since the 7.1 camera raw plugin won't work with pse 10.
Anyway the info on this page seems to indicate it's compatible with the 7.1 camera raw plugin which should also apply to the 7.1 dng converter.
Here's a list of compatible cameras:

  • Upgrade of Lightroom 4 with newest Camera Raws possible?

I'm still on Windows XP. My question: Can I buy Lightroom 4 and update Camera Raw files subsequently? Or is the only chance to use newest camera raws by using Lightroom 5? I want to get access to Olympus EM-5 Raw files (in addition to EOS 5D MII) and want to avoid for now changing the windows system.
    Any advice very much appreciated!

Lightroom 4 is no longer sold. It would depend first on your being able to find a copy for sale. That said, you would only be able to upgrade your camera compatibility to LR 4.4.1. Any cameras added after 4.4.1 was released would be unavailable to you.
At this point the only alternative that allows you to remain on XP and continue to get the newest cameras is to download and implement in your workflow the free Adobe DNG Converter. It is XP compatible (at least for now) and allows access to the latest cameras, and its DNG files are backwards compatible to all versions of Lightroom.

  • How do I upgrade camera raw codecs in adobe cs 5

How do I upgrade The CAMERA RAW CODECS in Adobe CS5?

What do you mean?  Are you looking for thumbnails in Windows Explorer (which is most often what the word "codec" is associated with)?  Or something else?
If something else, please state what camera you have.  Old versions of Camera Raw will not be able to open files from new cameras.
You can determine exactly when Adobe released support for your new camera in Photoshop.  To do that, look at these two pages.  You'll want to find out the earliest version of Camera Raw that can support your camera, then what version of Photoshop can run that version of Camera Raw.
Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
    Camera Raw-compatible Adobe applications
If your version of Photoshop cannot support your camera directly, you can download and install the latest version of the free Adobe DNG Converter, which can take your raw files as input and put out DNG format files, which your version of Photoshop can open.

  • I just upgraded to Photoshop cs6 so that my new camera (Nikon D7100) would work in Camera Raw.  However, it will not download from the  "Update" option in CS6.

I just upgraded to Photoshop cs6 so that my new camera (Nikon D7100) would work in Camera Raw  (I was told that the Camera Raw update 8.3, which is available for CS6, included this camera).  However, it will not download from the  "Update" option in CS6.  I have tried over 10 times - it just says update is not working. and I cannot find an alternate way of downloading this file. So I still can use my camera, even thought I paid to upgrade.  HELP please.

What OS do you have?  You say you have explained what you had (computer/opsys) but I honestly don't see it here.  If you had mentioned that my advice would have been different; I believe you can only upgrade as far as Camera Raw 8.3 on an older Windows system.  There is more information here (look specifically for the "Revert to 8.3 ..." titles).
Adobe Camera Raw Help | Camera Raw/DNG Converter 8.4 on Mac OS 10.6, Windows XP, and Vista
What you've done/written in your last post confuses things further, unfortunately.  Photoshop 13.1 is strictly a Creative Cloud version.  The highest you can go is Photoshop CS6 13.0.1.3 with perpetual license.
And as far as I can recall, that version can work on Windows back to XP:
    System requirements | Photoshop
I don't think you're out of luck, but you seem to be leaping into doing things without having the full story, and are jumping to conclusions a bit too quickly.
Here's what I suggest you try:
    1.  Remove Photoshop entirely with the Creative Suite Removal Tool:
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
    2.  Install Photoshop CS6 from your original media or from here:
    Download CS6 products
    3.  Update the application using its own Help - Updates process.  That really should get you the latest Camera Raw version that will work.  If that does not bring you a Camera Raw that works with your Nikon, use the "Revert to 8.3" instructions above.

  • CS3 Upgrade & Camera Raw 4.5 = MAJOR HEADACHE!

I bought a D300. Then found out that the only way to use Photoshop with it was to upgrade the Camera Raw plug-in to 4.5, which could ONLY be used with CS3. So NOW I have THOUSANDS of dollars in camera gear and software that has caused me more headaches than putting 4 kids through high school.
P4, 4 GB RAM a gazzilion bytes of hard drive space and I'm getting the dreaded blue screen of death after going through 3 or 4 photos in CS3's Bridge.
PFN_LIST_CORRUPT or something like that. I've emailed support and nothing. Very disappointing to say the least.
I've got it down to faulting after going through about 10 pics now but NOW, on SOME of the Nikon (.NEF) files, it's telling me that "Photoshop CS2 cannot be found!"
I'm sorry, but I'm very close to dousing this thing with lighter fluid and sending the ashes back to Adobe. I have over 1000 photos to process from the weekend it's it's IMPOSSIBLE to do it with these errors.
YES, I did the Camera Raw update per the instructions.

Elginet - your error message points to RAM problems. Perhaps your PS uses more RAM than other software and therefore the error only shows up when using PS. You could try to remove part of the memory just to locate the problem if it is within one or two memory banks. With 2 GByte the computer should run PS even though a bit slow. Once you located the problem you could either replace the defective memory or replace the whole set depending on your configuration.
It is not necessarily a hardware fault it could be a setting for memory access in the BIOS.
Basically CS3 and ACR4.5 work fine on many computers and it is very stable on my machine under Win XP-pro. Be certain it is not a general problem.
Best of luck that you can resolve your problem.
    Cheers
    Walter

  • Can't view Camera RAW files in Bridge or Photoshop CS4 after upgrading to Mac Mavericks X OS.

After upgrading my Mac operating system to Mavericks X I can no longer view Camera RAW images on either Bridge or Photoshop CS4!
I'd already fixed the issue of not even being able to launch Photoshop by installing Apple's Java applet, but this doesn't seem to have helped with the Camera RAW situation.
I've tried invoking "Update" in both Bridge and Photoshop, and both indicate there are no updates.
I even went to Adobe's Camera RAW area, and downloaded and installed the Camera RAW plugin specifically for my cameras (Canon 5D Mk ii) and Photoshop CS4, and that hasn't helped at all!
I feel that it's just another silly Java applet, but I haven't any idea how to proceed from here!
    HELP!
    Thank you,
    Bob

Did you download and install the camera raw 5.7 update?

  • Upgraded Adobe LR 4.1, CS6 Beta & got the Canon 5D Mark III, WHEN is next dot release Camera Raw?

I Purchased the Upgraded Adobe LR 4.1, CS6 Beta & got the Canon 5D Mark III, Mac Pro server update to Lion, WHEN is next dot release Camera Raw? My workflow has trippled in time because of this issue. I'm so frustrated with having to convert images in a slowed up piece of crap canon software package and then wait another decade for the newest LR to load the images I could crap fire! Come on Adobe, where's the release? After a few grand you'd think we'd get a better response time. As for Canon, they are not consistant with community software sharing and can kiss my *!! because to leave Adobe hanging sux!
There should be new laws that penalize jerks that screw with workflow!
Time is money, let's go Adobe!

"so there are no Adobe staff here to see your rant."
Oh, they're here    and they see it...
    BTW this might help?
