Camera Roll Album cannot be selected

The Camera roll Album ( photos app ) located at the top of the screen, cannot be selected as it's partially hidden beneath a transparent grey screen with the title "Albums" on it!
This used to be ok before 4.3 but now the only way to select Camera Roll is via the Camera.....
Any ideas how to fix this stupid software stuffup

This happened to me the other day. I was able to fix just by quitting and relaunching the Photos app.
1) Press the home button once to get to the Home Screen.
2) Double press the Home button it to bring up the multitasking bar.
3) Click and hold on the Photos App.
4) Once the - signs come up on the apps, click on Photos to quit it.
When you relaunch Photos, I bet the problem will have cleared itself up.

  • Some photos not showing in my Camera Roll album, can only find them if I use 'Places' and select where I took the photo

Basically as the title says, I've noticed when trying to  find some photo's I've taken in the past few months in my Camera Roll album (in the Photo's app), I can't find them anymore.
But, if I choose 'Places' (instead of Albums at the bottom of the Photo's app) and select the place/location I took the photos, I can easily see them.
I have an iPhone 4S on iOS 5.1. Based on the photo's missing, it appears it's happened to photos between 11th January to around 10th March. But I was definately able to seem them in the camera roll during that time (as I specifically remember a set of photo's I took I constantly referred back to around February. I can now only find them if I choose the location where I took them).
I've reset the unit and performed a sync, but still can't see them in the Camera Roll.
    Any ideas?

If you deleted them from photo stream, the only way to get them back in photo stream on your device is to add them to the camera roll as new photos.  If you don't need high resolution versions in photo stream, this can be done by simply opening each photo and taking a screenshot.  If you do want higher resolution versions in photo stream your options are either to email them to yourself, then save them to your camera roll, or add them to a shared photo stream album.

  • I am having a problem relating camera roll album bugs

i am having a problem relating camera roll album bugs

Can you trell us more about it?
If the camera roll is covered partly by your screen, close the photo app, open the multitask bar, tap on the photo app icon unitl it starts to shake, then hit the little minus icon to close the app completely.
Return to your home screen and start the photo app again, you should be able to select the camera roll again.
You can also reset the phone to get it working again.

  • Why are all my pictures being saved to the Camera Roll album?

    Hi
Every image saved to my iPhone 5s (iOS 8.1) is saved to the Camera Roll album and not to any other folders i.e. Snapchat images are not saved to a Snapchat folder, Instagram pictures not saved to an Instagram folder, Twitter pictures nto saved to a Twitter folder.
Also, in a possibly unrelated query, I moved a large chunk of images from my Camera Roll to a separate folder (called "London" for my visit of the city) but they also still remain in the Camera Roll album.
    Can anyone help me out?
    Thanks

I've just received my iPhone 6 & upgraded to ios8.1.
After I set up my new phone & restore my icloud backup from my old iPhone 4, I found that the photo album cannot be used, photo taken by the camera cannot be saved (anyway the thumbnail of the photo just taken was showed on the bottom left corner).
When I go into my photo album, there are no photo at all.
Same with videos. Instagram works fine, facebook crashes when I try to take photos. Camera + works with the app photo stream, but gives error message when I try to save camera+ stream to camera roll
I tried to reset & delete everything for 5-6 times, the problem still there.
Anyone can help on this problem please?

  • Lose fhoto camera roll album when upgrade

I lost my fhoto camera roll album when i upgrade my iphone 4 from iOS 4.3.3 to iOS 5.0. Before upgrading i done a backup. How can i get back all my fhoto?

This has happened to a lot of people.  Double-click the home button to reveal the recent apps bar.  Find the icon for Photos and tap and hold it until it wiggles and tap the red circle to force quit the app.  Press the home button once when you are finished. Open the Photo app again and you should be able to access the camera roll.
Hopefully, the next upgrade will fix this.

  • Why is the camera roll album gone iOS 8

Updated to iOS 8 and the camera roll album is now gone, and all you have is recently added photos and an album for deleted photos which I think completely defeats the purpose of deleting photos. To see the rest of your photos, you have to go to memories or collections or something like that and have to scroll through  extremely messy date stamped albums then click on them and it takes you to a map that takes forever to load then you have to zoom in to find the picture you want. This is probably the dumbest thing I have ever seen come from Apple so far. Bring back the old camera roll album and don't force us to use photo stream or iCloud sharing photos or whatever it may be. I want the ability to simply see all of my pictures in one place and scroll through them and if I want them on my Mac I will plug up my phone and sync it. Until then, I'm going to try to go back to ios7. Also after the update my not abused iPhone 5 with 32gig memory is much slower, the apps fade in and out much less smoothly, added more apps from apple that I don't want nor can I delete, and made it ignorantly hard to go through your photos. Very disappointed

agreed, I will not buy the new iPhone if this is how the photos and camera are going to be handled. You would think one of the highest grossing and most intelligent electronics company would have seen how terrible of an idea this was during their many months of development. Hopefully this will be seen along with others who feel the same and apple can give us the camera roll album back, thats seriously all I want in my pictures. I don't want to know when I took it, or where, or have pictures organized by these criterion, or several albums to hold other useless stuff and copies, we just need the camera roll.

  • When I make a new album from my camera roll, I am unable to delete the from only the camera roll album. Is there any way to delete them?

When I make a new album from my camera roll, I am unable to delete the photos from only the camera roll album. Is there any way to delete them without deleting them from the new album?

The photos in your album are actually only saved in your camera roll. The creation of an album does not create copies of the photos. The Album simply contains pointers to the pictures in the camera roll.
If you want to create stand-alone albums move the pics to your computer, say iPhoto, create albums there and sync the pictures back to your iPhone. Note that the pictures synced back to the iPhone will not necessarily have the same resolution as the camera roll versions.

  • Cant access "camera roll" album after upgrade to 4.3.3

iPhone 3GS, recent update to v 4.3.3 now when I go in to Photos the "Camera Roll" album is hidden under the "Albums" heading at the top of the screen and I can't tap it to open it.  Can see and access 3 other albums.  Was fine before this upgrade. Any suggestions?

  • How do you Remove a photo from the camera roll album without deleting from other albums

How do you Remove a photo from the camera roll album without deleting from other albums

If it was originally on the camera roll try this: take another unimportant photo for test purposes, copy it to any special folder you have created within Photos, connect your iPad to your computer, locate it as any other external device, and most likely that Photos folder will be the only thing that will show up, locate the photo, delete it and then sync your iPad.
If the test photo is gone from the camera roll but still in another folder within the app then you know that the system works so go ahead with the process. I understand that there are other photo apps which might let you achieve your goal much quicker.
    Hope thi helps.

  • HT201301 How do I send photos from my "Camera Roll" album to my computer

I'm trying to export photos from the Camera Roll album to my computer.  How do I do that?

One way that you can do it is to import the photos to the computer much like you would do with a digital camera.
IOS: Importing personal photos and videos to your computer.

  • Unwanted camera roll albums

Hi can any1 help me, i have family and friends who ofen borrow my phone ta make a call or send a txt n av a habbit of snooping, i recently discovered that unwanted photos not stored anywere else on my device have suddenly appeared in an album in my camera roll, i do not want them there yet i cant delete the album or even have the option to delete the individual photos, someone said i have to do it thru itunes but tried that n cant even find an option for photos on there either, just the usual apps music films etc etc, can any1 help please as i dont want to have to completely wipe my phone for the sake of a few photos, thankyou

Those are either synced from your computer via iTunes, or in the case of PhotoStream, it's the automatic backup you enabled under Settings > iCloud.
To unsync the albums, connect to iTunes, go to 'Photos', uncheck the 'Sync Photos From', and click 'Apply'.
To stop PhotoStream backing up your photos, go to Settings > iCloud and set PhotoStream to 'Off'.

  • I can't access my Camera Roll Album because it is under the Albums banner at the top of my screen. How can I get to it and open it?

I have only had my 3GS iPhone for about one month and all seems to be working fine. The other day I went to check on some pictures that I shot with the phone but can't get to them. I have 2 albums. Photo Library of pictures I downloaded and Camera Roll of pictures I shot with the phone. I can't get to the Camera Roll because it is under the Albums banner at the top of the screen.

Can't believe it was that easy... I'm so dumb! Thanks for your help, I was getting so aggravated! I owe you... Thanks again!

  • Camera Roll & Albums

When you make a new photo album and move photo's into it, why do the photo's stay in the camera roll too? does everyones do this?

Yes, I have duplicates and triples of some pix after syncing. Is there a simple way to remove the doubles and triples without doing it manually? It may take some time if that is the only solution.
Oh, in the event you wanna sell an older iPhone, which I am and have already gotten several calls after posting on Craigslist, to remove your own phone number,  just go to where it is displayed in the field, erase it, then type 0 or 555-1212 and save. That should remove your number from the memory.
    Thanks for any advice.

  • Icon on Camera Roll album cover...

Is anyone familiar with the little icon on the Cameral Roll album cover???  Never noticed it before, not sure if it is new to 8.3.

    I have the same problem.
I came here looking for a solution. I can only imagine it's the latest iOS update has caused a minor glitch.
With luck it will be fixed in a few days.
In the meantime, you can access the camera roll from the small window in the bottom left of the camera app. Just click the last taken image, and it will let you get to the camera roll from there. It's three screen presses(Camera, last pic, Camera Roll) as opposed to the normal two(Photos, Camera Roll), but it's all that will work for now till this issue gets resolved.
Let's just keep our fingers crossed it gets fixed asap.

  • HT4236 Is there a way to sync photos from my computer onto my Ipod touch 'Camera Roll' album?

Everytime I sync photos from my computer onto my ipod they go into two different folders, and not the camera roll. I really want to have them in the camera roll and was wondering if there was a way to do so,
    Thanks.
    Georgia.

There is, but I would avoid that method if I were you.
The Camera Roll (on an iPod Touch) is where photos taken on the iPod, screenshots taken on the iPod and also saved images are located.
Although other people may alternative suggestions, I regard the Camera Roll a temporary loctation, until the next Sync with iTunes. At that time, it is wise to move the pictures from the Camera Roll and put them somewhere on your computer. This means that when (rather than if) the iPod requires a Restore, you don't lose your pictures, since a Restore will remove all content from the iPod, and only put back onto the iPod what is on the computer.
For safety, I copy the Camera Roll pictures, into a folder which will then put them back onto the iPod in the Photo Library, and only once sucessfully copied, do I then delete them from my iPod' Camera Roll.
As for the two different folders...
    You can only choose one folder on your computer to Sync with your iPod, named for instance, "Piccys" and in there are (for example) general photos. However, also in that folder, you can have sub-folders, named for instance "Family" which have only photos of the family. Once the folder "Piccys" is Synced with your iPod, when you look in the Photos App on the iPod, you will see a list of sections;
    Photo Library
    Family
The "Photo Library section" will have all the photos, both from the "Piccys folder" and the "Family folder" listed as one list. However, if you look in the "Family section", you will see only the photos in the "Family folder".
So in your situation, I suggest that you create a sub-folder in your chosen "Sync folder" and place all the Camera roll pictures in that. What you certainly should not be doing is leaving photos in the Camera Roll or trying to put other pictures into the Camera Roll. That will be a recipe for disaster.
By the way, in my experience, the more pictures in the Camera roll, the slower a Sync becomes.
