Camera roll into Windows 7

I took video with my iPad(which it put it into the "Camera Roll") and now I'd like to get it onto my computer to save it an use it for other things.  Does anybody know how I can do this.  I've read the manual and it wasn't at all helpful!  Contacted customer support an all they told me was how to import from a camcorder.  Any help would be appreciated.

For photos and videos that were taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083

  • Why can I not put a picture from camera roll into an album?

Why can I not put a picture from my camera roll into an album now? When I try these are greyed out. I created these albums on my ipad too but ever since I updated to IOS 7 this can't be done, it was so easy before.

I can now answer my own question as I've worked it out. For those who are interested click on Shared Streams then on album you require photo to be in then click on the empty box with a cross in the centre and choose photo you wish to add.

  • Transferring camera roll into new computer.

So... I got my laptop stolen and decided to get a new one. The thing is that I can't seem to download the Photo Library pictures from my old computer that are stored in my iphone, into the new laptop... is there anyway i can do that?
    Thanks!
    J.

Photos captured by your iPhone and a photo saved from a received email, from a website, or from a received MMS are stored in your iPhone's Camera Roll. Photos in your iPhone's Camera Roll can be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera.
The title of your post is "Transferring camera roll into new computer" which you aren't asking about. You are asking about importing or transferring photos from your iPhone's Photo Library, which is completely separate from and has nothing to do with the Camera Roll.
Photos transferred from your computer via the iTunes sync/transfer process are stored in your iPhone's Photo Library, which is a one way transfer process only - from your computer to your iPhone. Photos transferred from your computer are optimized for viewing on your iPhone as part of the iTunes transfer process - the original resolution of these photos is reduced on your iPhone.
Photos stored on your computer should be included with your computer's backup along with all other important data - stored on an external drive or some other external media used for backup purposes only which should be kept in a separate location from your laptop in the event it is lost or stolen. The iPhone is not designed or intended to be used as a backup storage device.
There are some 3rd party paid utilities that provide for transferring these photos in the opposite direction, but such utilities are not supported by Apple and the original resolution of these photos will be lost in the process.

  • HT4910 How do i get photos from my Camera Roll into my Photo Stream?

How do i get photos from my Camera Roll into my Photo Stream? It seems it is supposed to do it automatically , but it does not.

Photos are normally uploaded automatically as long as you are connected to wifi, have the camera app closed and have at least 20% battery life remaining.  (It doesn't require a manual iCloud backup first.)
If yours are working, if you haven't already done so, try turning off photo stream, then turn it back on.
Sometimes people have issues getting photo stream to work on their home wifi, even if other devices in the home seem to work fine.  To troubleshoot this as a possible cause, some things to try include:
Power-cycling your router (unplug for 15 seconds, then plug back in), then go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Reset Network Settings, then rejoin your wifi network.
See if there is a firmware update available for your router.
Change the DNS settings in your router to Google's Public DNS (see https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using)
As a diagnostic step, go to a public wifi hotspot and take a photo, then wait a minute or so to see if it appears in your My Photo Stream album on your phone.  If it does, this confirms that the problem is with your home wifi.

  • Downloading movies off of the camera roll into iTunes movie library

Has anyone figured out a way to automatically extract the movies off of the iPhone's camera roll and deposit them into the iTunes movies library when you sync? Once I get them in there, I will be able to play them with Apple TV pretty easily.

    @Proud American:
I use Win 7 and if I plugged (via USB) my iphone 4, windows can recognized the iphone as an external storage (just like flash disk) so I can browse through file manager (windows explorer) and can access the iPhone "Camera Cam" and make copy/delete files. I think this feature also works on Mac

  • Is there away to save the pictures on Camera Roll into an Album?

How do I move the Pictures from Camera Roll to a designated album?

Import the photos with your computer as with any other digital camera. Organize the photos into albums or folders on your computer as with other photos on your computer followed by transferring the albums or folders to your iPhone via the iTunes sync/transfer process.

  • Viewing Camera Roll in Windows 7

With my iPhone 3G, it showed up on Windows 7 as an external drive, and I was able to navigate through My Computer to find and view the photos in the camera roll. From here I could copy them to the computer... With the iPhone 4 I am only showed a DCIM Folder that has nothing inside it... Any suggestions?

We have developed a commercial PSD codec that provides thumbnails, previews, and metadata for PSD files on Windows 7 for PSD files that are saved with Maximize Compatibility set.

  • HT1688 How can I stop photos from downloading from my camera roll into photo folders on my Iphone 4S. They have been downloading on the phone for 2 days.

I took some photos from my camera roll and added them into seperate folders on my Iphone 4S and only some of the photos have downloaded and the rest of the pictures in all of the folders have been downloading for the past 2 days. Even when connected to WiFi it does not stop downloading the pictures into the seperate folders. How can I finish the downloading of the pictures or how can I stop the downloading and try adding them to the folders again?

Your backup contains photos and videos from the camera roll, if you did not sync after that, use the latest backup to restore from: iTunes: About iOS backups and Backing Up, updating, and restoring your iPhone and iPod touch software

  • How can I put selected pictures from camera roll into a seperate album removing them completly from camera roll??

Im gunna be straight up honest here.. I have some rude pictures of my girlfriend on my iphone which I would like to keep for my own personal viewing but obviously dont want family and friends seeing when they are flicking threw my camera album which often happens. I had intended to make a private album put them all in there and put a passcode on the album. With all of apples features I would of thought this would be a standard thing you could do, however when I made the private album the pictures were still in my camera roll and if I try to delete them I am told the pictures will be removed completly from my phone.. This is stupid. What is the point in being able to make albums if the pictures are going to still all be in the camera roll!? Does anybody know of a way I can move pictures from camera roll to a private album?? Any help would be much appreciated.

Photos placed in a user created album or in an existing album are not copied/duplicated. The photos placed in an album include a pointer to the original photos stored in the Camera Roll. Having an album for select photos is for viewing the select photos only without having to see all photos in the Camera Roll.
The same applies to albums transferred from your computer. All photos transferred from your computer are stored in the Photo Library. Photos on the albums below include a pointer to the original photos stored in the Photo Library. The photos appear as they are duplicated when they are not. This way you can view the photos in an album only by selecting the album, or all photos on the Photo Library or Camera Roll by selecting it.

  • Moving photos from photo stream and camera roll into a photo library?

Can I move photos from camera roll or photo stream album to an album I created?

No.  Camera roll and photo stream photos are stored separately and must be deleted separately.

Just connect your iPhone to your laptop with the 30 pin to USB cable.
It should be recognized as a camera and you can move camera roll photos to the laptop.

  • HT201317 Camera roll into photo stream

Photo stream now seems to be working ok from iPhone to iPad mini  for new photos taken, however how do I get all my existing photos from my iPhone camera roll onto my iPad mini ??

Photo stream only adds photos taken after photo stream is enabled, so what you are experiencing is normal.  To add existing photos to your iPad Mini, you can either:
Import them to your computer (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083), then put them in a folder and sync them to your Mini by selecting the folder on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing it; or
Us an app like PhotoSync that can wirelessly transfer them between your devices.

  • Will we ever be able to import RAW files from iPad camera roll into Lightroom Mobile?

Is this a planned feature, or should I look elsewhere for iPad photo editing?
I only shoot in RAW and I would sometimes like to do a quick edit in the field. As it stands, Lightroom Mobile is a completely useless application for me. Needing to import the photos to my Macbook in order to use a dumbed-down version of Lightroom makes no sense to me. Why do I need Lightroom Mobile if I need to have my computer with me to use it anyways?
Without this feature, I don't quite understand what Lightroom Mobile is supposed to accomplish. Is it purely for people who only own a desktop and need to perform basic edits on the go? Is that a large enough demographic to develop an entire app? Even if it is meant for only those people, it would still likely be far more useful to them if they could import RAW photos in the field and not have to stop by their studio/home to import and move into a collection first.

The likely real reason why Adobe doesn't do this yet even though many people have requested it is that it would cost them dearly in bandwidth and storage capacities. Right now only smallish lossy compressed, downscaled dngs or simple jpegs travel to and from Adobe's servers which is tenable. Sending full raw files from 24+ MP cameras is probably not something they can realistically do yet. Having the iPad try to generate the lossy dng will likely show how very low powered they are in comparison to a simple laptop and is likely not yet a realistic solution so you'd still have to send the file online and have the dng generated by a server.
I use the mobile thing for simple iPad slideshows and simple portfolios. The color is really good as the current generation of iPad screens is very well done with close to sRGB gamut. I'll sometimes do some simple edits but it is really not very useful for that yet. It shows promise but is not useful as a laptop replacement yet on trips. You're better off getting a lightweight laptop (many cheapo ultralight windows ones out there nowadays and the MacBook Airs are great for this) and running the full Lightroom on that if you are traveling.
