Camera roll is gone

Is there a way to add it to IOS 8?
I hate using Collections because the sorting by days is full of blank spaces and I end up scrolling for hours. And the monthly sorting is just so small it hurts my eyes.

Did you check the "photos" tab on the lower left hand side? All your photos should appear there in chronological order. with this iOS updated Apple combined "camera roll and Photo Stream" into "recently added" folder.

Just updated our iPad2 to iOS 7, and all my photos in camera rolls are gone, can't locate them anywhere. Were they just deleted, or is there a way to find them? Did not have iCloud account, so not backed-up there.

We're you backing up to a computer using iTunes? If so, restore the backup from there.

  • Camera roll has gone behind  the "Albums" title bar. How do I get it back?

My camera roll album has gon behind the "Albums" title bar. I cannot now access my photos. How do I get it back to its normal position? I have tried syncing.

Do a forum search.  This is asked and answered many times.

  • Why is the camera roll album gone iOS 8

Updated to iOS 8 and the camera roll album is now gone, and all you have is recently added photos and an album for deleted photos which I think completely defeats the purpose of deleting photos. To see the rest of your photos, you have to go to memories or collections or something like that and have to scroll through  extremely messy date stamped albums then click on them and it takes you to a map that takes forever to load then you have to zoom in to find the picture you want. This is probably the dumbest thing I have ever seen come from Apple so far. Bring back the old camera roll album and don't force us to use photo stream or iCloud sharing photos or whatever it may be. I want the ability to simply see all of my pictures in one place and scroll through them and if I want them on my Mac I will plug up my phone and sync it. Until then, I'm going to try to go back to ios7. Also after the update my not abused iPhone 5 with 32gig memory is much slower, the apps fade in and out much less smoothly, added more apps from apple that I don't want nor can I delete, and made it ignorantly hard to go through your photos. Very disappointed

agreed, I will not buy the new iPhone if this is how the photos and camera are going to be handled. You would think one of the highest grossing and most intelligent electronics company would have seen how terrible of an idea this was during their many months of development. Hopefully this will be seen along with others who feel the same and apple can give us the camera roll album back, thats seriously all I want in my pictures. I don't want to know when I took it, or where, or have pictures organized by these criterion, or several albums to hold other useless stuff and copies, we just need the camera roll.

  • After upgrading to iOS5 all the pictures in my camera roll are gone. Please help.

I synced my phone through itunes prior to upgrading to iOS5. Then the upgrade also backed up the phone. Upon the upgrade completing I was browsing through my phone and noticed that all the photos that were in my camera roll are nowhere to be found. Can anyone help me?

I have the same problem. I bought an iPod Touch 4G 64GB last June. After upgrading to the new iOS 5, most of my pictures, apps and music is gone. Every time I try and recover my backup the system crashes. I tried to call their technical support to restolve the problem but I was told that I had to pay $29 to solve the problem that they created. This is a disgrace.
People are saying restore the iPod but with mine that didn't help.

  • Camera roll app gone after installing iPhoto

My Camera Roll app is no longer to be found on my Gen 3 iPad after installing iPhoto. I've reset my iPad, though i haven't erased all content and settings, and I cannot get it back. Am I relegated to the "scorched earth" solution of backing up and erasing all my data?

"If you are using the Camera app and take a shot, you can see your Camera Roll (bottom right) and when you tap on it, it will bring out the Camera Roll. Those shots are also in Photos app > Photos.
Note: There's no Camera Roll app."
Sorry, correction in the statement above : should be (bottom left).

  • I just updated my iphone with iOS 5 and all my photos in my Camera Roll are gone. What gives...

I just update my iphone with the new iOS 5 and all my photos in my Camera Roll have disappeared. I did use iTunes for the upgrade. Are the photos in another place?

If you have failed to make sure that any apps purchased on the iphone were transferred to your computer before updating, then you will have to redownload.
Open itunes store, click Purchased, under Quick Links.

  • So are all my camera roll photos gone?

I did the backup and all, and yet it's still gone. So I'm wondering if there's still hope I can extract them back manually with a backup extractor.
Can just someone verify that if iTunes backs them up or not?

No, they are not backed up - they would be synced to your photo library through the iTunes process. If the backup process did not include moving the photo's to your library and then putting an optimised copy back, then you've been doing incomplete backups.
They are gone .... what's in a backup is well documented here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766

  • Camera roll gone in iOS8. Why do i have two sets of photo in my iPhone?

I have just got iOS8 on my iPhone 5s. I released "Camera Roll" its gone and the only place to find photo taken from my phone will either from "Events" or "Collections". It's near imposable to find photo from "Events" as it does not put my photo in the right order according to timeline.
The problem with "Collections" its just not user friendly. Also, all my photo have two sets in "Collections". Is there any way that I can delete one set of my photo from "Collections"? What do I need to do on my iTunes, iPhoto and my iPhone? This will be must appreciated.
Finally I really want to have "Camera Roll" back. Its really useless to have "Collections" as it sort out my photo via time. That makes a lot of space between photo when its rang by date. its too small to see when its range by year. So, it is really useless things to have. I prefer to have "Camera Roll" back.

there seems to be two sets of Library files.
You should have three different folders named "Library". They are
<~/Library>, or the Library folder in your Home folder (aka, Library folder from user domain)
</Library>, or the Library folder at the root level of your startup disk (aka, Library folder from local domain)
</System/Library>, or the Library folder in the System folder (aka, Library folder from system domain)
And under no circumstances should you even dream of deleting any one of them.
Should this dream ever occur, you need to get cured by reading a basic book about Macs, eg, David Pogue's "Missing Manual…".

  • Camera roll gone

SSince updating to iOS 8 my camera roll is gone. It gad 1500+ images. It's now showing me the most recent 350 photos. I don't use albums/dates/times. How can I get this back, or how do I get all images in one folder without clicking on photos and then moments.

Photos in the Camera Roll should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera. Everything is not "linked" to your PC in this regard. Importing photos from the Camera Roll is done manually as when importing photos from any other digital camera.
Photos in the Camera Roll are included with your iPhone's backup which is updated by iTunes as the first step during the iTunes sync process as well as 3rd party app settings and data created and stored by a 3rd party app. This data should be included with your iPhone's backup unless there is a problem with the backup.
When you connected your new iPhone to iTunes on your computer the first time, were you prompted to transfer the backup for your previous iPhone to your new iPhone? If so, was the backup for your previous iPhone transferred to your replacement iPhone?

  • How can i remove my Photo Library ? i have two folders inside Photos which are Photo Library and Camera Roll, i can't remember how Photo Library got there but i wanna remove that folder and the photos inside + i really messed up

someone told me to try iFunbox and delete thumbs file from filesystem so i did and now i have the same pics but only thumbnails when i click on one of them its black screen.
mow after restarting my phone and syncing all photos and videos from camera roll are gone i think i messed up so bad and photo library folder looks so messy like a long black screen
can someone tell me what to do ? i don't wanna restore and lose all my apps/games
    thank you

    You cannot remove photo library.
It will always be there.  This is where all photos synced to iphone reside.
    Have you tried a reset?
If that fails, then you will likely need to restore.

  • How do I find camera roll photos after backing up my iPad in iTunes before migrating to iOS8 then back to iOS7?

I recently, mistakenly, migrated my iPad to iOS8. In less than a day I concluded iOS8 was not for me, I migrated back to IOS 7.  I backed up the iPad in iOS8 using iTunes before migrating back and now find that my camera roll has gone.  I realise that iOS8 put the photos somewhere else (witness the posts here and in other Mac forums complaining that their camera rolls are 'gone') but shouldn't they have been backed up in iTunes?
I was able to retrieve all the apps from the backup but there was no camera roll.  Where in the iOS8 backup should they be now?  I'm afraid that I haven't figured out a connection from posts describing where the camera roll pictures went in iOS8 to be able to work backwards and restore them.
Can anyone please describe how I might be able to retrieve the Camera Roll?

    You cannot.
You should be importing them regularly as you would with any digital camera.
Did you not import them before restoring?

  • Pictures in camera roll erased after restart of phone

Need help with this. First note that this is not a syncing with computer/itunes matter. All pictures that I take and that are stored in the camera roll are gone after I restart the iPhone 3G (even if I dont connect to a computer after the pictures are taken). Someone said it had something to do with the phone itself - but is it not a software issue that can be solved? Anybody else have this issue? Should I wait for the next firmware? Thanks in advance...

I just discovered that this white screen was ONLY happening when I was taking pictures with the phone's photo effects feature on. I always thought one could only edit photos after taking the shot, but discovered you can turn on the photo effects pre-shot. (I'm talking about the "effects" editing features that are part of the iOS, not an external app). As long as that filter is not on when I'm taking pictures, I'm not having the problem. Hope that helps some of you.
I also have photo stream issues. Quite often my iPad and iPhone are at home and connected to the same wireless and still the photos don't make it into the photo stream. This is a minor irrititant to me so I haven't tried to hard to fix it.

  • How to transfer photo back to iphone camera roll?

I accidentally click delete after import while importing photo from iPhone to iPhoto. All photos in my iPhone's camera roll were gone.
I have tried to sync photo back to iPhone but it only created a new folder rather than putting photo back to camera roll.
Is there any way to transfer photos to camera roll folder?

You don't - not without a paid 3rd party utility.
All photos transferred from your computer via the iTunes sync/transfer process are optimized for viewing on the iPhone - the original resolution is reduced, which is why transferring these photos in the opposite direction is not supported.
Transfer the photos from your previous computer to your new computer from your computer's backup along with all other important data.

  • Edit tool in camera roll is missing

    Hello friends,
I actually i am facing a problem quite a while. I used to have the edit button back in my iPhone 4S missing. When i used to enable the photostrem the button is back again! As soon as i turned off the photostrem, the edit option in camera roll is gone too. Now, i have been advised to restore my phone. I bought an iphone 5 yesterday and restored my data. now i noticed that the old phone which is iphone 4S is okay with the edit button but my iphone5 is facing again the same problem. now i am very disappointed and totally do not what to do. any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Husain

Take a look at your settings in the iPhone.  Check to make sure that iCloud, and Photos & Camera settings are correct.  There are two places where shared photo streams need to be enabled.  Make sure both are enabled under the iCloud settings section adn the Photos and Camera Settings section.

  • Self Study CDs, Classroom...?

Hi - I've been using the all-in-one 10g OCA/OCP Oracle guide to sudy for OCA. Would anyone give a specific recommendation for augmenting this with the self-study CDs or even classroom training (Oracle U)? The book alone is perfectly comprehensible. B
