Camera roll on iphone5 not loading to photostream

photostream is enabled on my iphone5 and iphoto. New camera pictures are not moving over to photostream (I assume they are supposed to go 1st to icloud then back to My Photo Stream). I have 100% charged battery and a rock solid Wifi connection. I can not figure this out. If im am in Iphoto on my mac and I drag a picture to photostream, it immediately shows on my iphone5 "My photo Stream" album. Not that this should matter but I have a comcast connection with an Arris TG862G router wired to a time capsule functioning in bridge mode. works perfectly. Also in case you are thinking its my WiFi connection for some reason, my iphone5 also connects to my office network via WiFi which is also rock solid. Nothing ever moves out of camera roll to photostream. HEEEELLLP........

You might want to try taking a photo at a public hotspot (like Starbucks) before ruling out your wifi as the issue. Your work wifi may be blocking the ports necessary to communicate with the iCloud servers. Also, I assume you know that the camera app must be closed for the photo to upload, so take a photo at a public hotspot, close the camera, then wait a minute or two to see if it appears in the photo stream album on your phone.
Otherwise, turn photo stream off, then back on on your phone is the next standard troubleshooting step, which you've already tried.

Consider using sshfs to mount your Pi from your Linux boxes. It's much easier to configure and manage than samba. It sounds like you already have your Windows machines mounting your Pi so Samba is doing its job in that respect.

To help get you off the dime, here's a modified line from my fstab that I use to mount my Pi with:
gav@PI:/mnt/backup /mnt/rpi/backup fuse.sshfs rw,relatime,user_id=0,group_id=0,allow_other 0 0
Subsitute my mount points with yours.
For a password-less mount:
ssh-copy-id gav@PI
after you've set up ssh and generated some keys on your client box.
Here are some relevant lines from the smb.conf file on my Pi that I use for my one Windows box in the house that might help you with your write permissions:

It's difficult to say whether it's stuck or not as the time to restore a backup can depend on many factors. You'll have to decide when you think it's just not continuing. You could try turning the phone off (hold the power button until you see the red off slider, then slide to turn off), then back on to see if that would get it going again.
When you're convinced it's just hung, you can go back to settings and tap Stop Restoring iPhone to stop the restore. You'll then have to try restoring it again (Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup). Be sure it's connected to your charger and wifi while it's restoring the backup.
You might also try the approach posted here by ezjules: https://discussions.apple.com/message/19518589#19518589. This seems to have worked for some people who had trouble restoring their photos from an iCloud backup.

Bear with me a minute. You're confusing a lot of things.
1. As Larry says, on Windows you are using a File Manager for you your photos. All well and good if it works for you, but limited. Why? Because it doesn't leverage any of the extra information available with photos files. Essentially, a File Manager doesn't distinguish between a photo nd a Word file or a Music file. They are just files.
2. Photo Managers like iPhoto (Or Picasa, Aperture, Lightroom et al) work differently. They are designed to leverage the additional information available in the photo file. Case in point: Date. In the File Manager you have folders created for Year/Month/Day. In iPhoto the pics are grouped into Events automatically. These Events are based on the date and time the Photos were taken, and which is recorded in the Exif metadata for the photo file.
As we all know, when one downloads pictures from a camera, their"names" appear as a bunch of letters and the number indicating thesequence.
These are Filenames assigned by the Camera. In iPhoto you don't change Filenames you edit Titles. Titles are quite independent of filenames and are an entry in the Exif metadata.
I'm not sure what you've done in the renaming sequence, but iPhoto does not have a Sort -> by Name command. There is a Sort By Title command.
But you would not use Events for this job anyway. You would use an Album. Create an Album, drag the pics to it and then you can sort them in any order you want, manually. Then using the Batch Change Command you can create a sequence for them. So, Title the pics 'House Sale' and check the box to append number and the result:
House Sale 01, House Sale 02 etc

You don't see them in iTunes. In theory your computer should see the device as a camera and you should be able to transfer the photos in the same way as if you'd connected a 'proper' camera to your computer (this only applies to photos taken with the device or saved from emails/websites etc, it doesn't apply to photos that were synced from your computer). Photostream when enabled will only add photos from the camera roll that were taken post photostream activation. (Photostream does not currently share video)
    1.    Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.
    2.    Photostream only syncs when the camera app is closed, ensure it is closed.
    3.    Photostream only syncs when the battery is above 20%, try recharging the device

In an album in Photos touch the Edit button and then touch the desired photos (up to 5). A blue check appears in each selected photo. Next touch the Share button at the upper left and select Mail. This starts a email with the photos attached.

Have you been editing photos in iPhoto and want to add them to your camera rool or photo stream?
Then do exactly as the article describes, that you lonked to:

Use iPhoto's Sharing to save a copy of the edited photo to the Caera Roll, or explain on mor e detail, what you want to do.

Why do iPhone 4S camera roll pictures sometimes not go to my photo stream?

Is this an issue with just the 4s? I am waiting to upgrade, but missing photos is frustrating. Sometimes pictures taken at same location minutes apart do not appear in photo stream. I have tried resetting the phone, turning camera off, etc. but problem persists. It did not do this initially, but started several months ago, probably after an update. I cannot find a solution that works in the support communities. Any suggestions or do I just need to live with this until getting a new phone?
