Camera selection on Asus EeePad Transformer

Hi
There is a front and back camera on the Asus EeePad but there seems to be no way that I can select the front camera.
Camera.names.length returns 1 not 2.
James

The wording on this page:
http://www.adobe.com/products/air/features.html
seems to spell out that AIR 3 on Android doesn't have front camera support, but elsewhere there are lots of posts saying that AIR 3 does have Android front camera support. One or the other is wrong.
You might look at Christian's article, in the hope that it's the AIR 3 features page that is wrong:

  • Selective data load and transformations

    Hi,
Can youu2019ll pls clarify me this
1.Selective data load and transformations can be done in
        A.     Data package
        B.     Source system
        C.     Routine
        D.     Transformation Library-formulas
        E.     BI7 rule details
        F.     Anywhere else?
If above is correct what is the order in performance wise
2.Can anyone tell me why not all the fields are not appear in the data package data selection tab even though many include in datasource and data target.
    Tks in advance
    Suneth

    Hi Wijey,
1.If you are talking about selective data load, you need to write a ABAP Program in the infopackage for the field for which you want to select. Otherway is to write a start routine in the transformations and delete all the records which you do not want. In the second method, you get all the data but delete unwanted data so that you process only the required data. Performancewise, you need to observe. If the selection logic is complicated and taks a lot of time, the second option is better. You try both and decide yourself as to which is better.
    2. Only the fields that are marked as available for selection in the DS are available as selection in the data package. That is how the system is.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Camera selection

I'm looking to shoot something and here's a selection of cameras I'm considering:
Panasonic AG HVX200, AG DVX 100B, or the AG DVC 30.
I'm not looking to shoot anything real fancy looking, but probably Mini DV. Definately not HD, since I actually want a "film" look, complete with a little grain.
Um. But of course, being user-friendly is always nice, as well as interchangable lens and such, and price, of course. So -- what's the best bang for my buck?
    Thanks.
MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

A little research on your part and you would have quickly found that NONE of the above cameras have interchangeable lenses.
The AG-HVX200 will record DV to tape, and a few HD and SD formats to P2 cards. The AG-DVX100 is strictly an SD DV camera as is the AGDVC30.
The best way to record film grain on location is to shoot on film. If you're shooting video, the best way is to add it in post using a 'film look' emulation plugin such as those offered by Nattress: http://www.nattress.com/Products/filmeffects/filmeffects.htm
All-in-all, of the cameras you listed, the best SD bang for your buck would be the AG-DVX100B. Or you could go with the JVC GY-HDV110 (which does have interchangeable lens capability) and shoot in DV mode.

  • Help with turning off in-camera selected aspect ratios - Please!

I shoot a Olympus e-P2. It allows me to change the aspect ratio of the file i.e. 4:3, 16:9 etc. I like to use this feature as 'masks' when I shoot to help with composition. When I open the RAW file in bridge or Camera Raw, this pre-selected aspect is automatically cropped from the file. I want to see the entire file, not the cropped version. The Oly software gives me this option, but I can't figure out how to turn off this 'feature' in Bridge or Camera Raw. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your adobe product is only doing what the camera data told it to. However, in the raw converter you can try activating the crop tool then right click the image and choose to remove the crop. That may work (or not).

  • Camera selections ?

Help me understand why so many indie film makers go with a DSLR cameras and more recently the Panaconic mirroless Lumix DMC GH3.
Would a camera like the Panasomic GH3 capture better quality video than a camcorder such as the new Canon HF G30?
The Canon captures MP4 video at up to 35Mbps and can also capture in AVCHD ( I don't recall the bit rate ) .  The Panasonic records in h.264 or AVCHD with bit rated up to 72 Mbps.
If the camera is to be primarly for video it would seem that a video camera shoud out preform a still that shoots video.  I realize that the lens selction for the DSLR or micro 4/3rds makes a big difference,  but that asside are these hybreds better than video cameras in the same price range?  I think the preception I am getting is that one would have to spend $10,000 or more on a video camera to get the same quality footage.
I live far to disstant frorm any camera supplier that would have a selection of these cameras to check them out.  I am hoping some on this forum has some experiences with some of these cameras and can lend some insight.

    … 'better' …
(usually, I don't like to participate in any 'quality' debate)
The Canon 5D mkII was the famous 'cinematographers' choice, due to its full-size sensor. Tom allready explained, why this is 'better'.- Not made for 'hours' of recording, many of these device were killed by their own heat.-
Most videoDSLR meanwhile (and micro43s) have sensors of (smaller) APS-C size … for example Canons other famous DSLR, 550, 600, 650, 700 (rebel tx). You get designated video devices with APS-C too....
You've heard of the 'million pixel lie'? In theory, a sensor with 'just' 1920x1080 pixel is BETTER, than any 20, 30, 40 MioPixel DSLR - due to scaling, moire, Bayer filter, etc.
Panas GH2 got famous, due to Vitaly's hack - which modified bit-rate, intra-frame encoding, etc etc etc. Most of his features are now incl. in the GH3 ... but is it as handy as a camcorder?
switching glasses is 'better' - if you want to and can afford these masterpieces, e.g. ≤ f1.2 ... therefore, those expensive DSLR can not compete with any 300$ Sony Camcorder stabilizer ...
finally: aside all tech-lingo - it's all about photography! A 5.000$ CanonEOS1x doesn't do 'better' pictures in a low light living room, in the hands of drunken GrandPa It's about light, light, light. Many/most DSLR videographer in my neighborhood don't even know what a ND-filter is. Aside owning/using one .........
    summary:
It's not the camera, it's the camera-man who does 'better' pictures.
Spend 3h with this Emmy-awarded documentary:

    don't miss part II
    http://www.zacuto.com/shootout-revenge-2012
    SPOILER
in ptII, aside Arri Alexa, Red Epic, or Kodak (film), one contestant is an iPhone!
But plus 80 people crew, a 1Mio$ studio, a DoP with years of experience.-
Light and the one using it.

  • Will Adobe include The FINEPIX S5 in the tethered camera selection ?

Please include the fuji FINEPIX S5 in the selection of tethered cameras SOON
OH ! the slideshow with music is a greay option.... HOWEVER it  regularly crashes !... and I need to massage both the program and Itunes to get CONSISTENT results
    Thamnks,
    Noel

When it seems to take many more months than their competitors to offer new camera support for tethering ... I seriously doubt we will see much in the way additional capabilities for tethering in Lr from Adobe ... at least not any time soon ...
The Lr SDK has always allowed for tethering plugins ... at least one ... though when Adobe offered tethering directly in Lr, the developer stopped working on his plugin ... keeping in mind it was a free plugin for only the Mac platform ... So I would think that any enterprising coder with the desire to offer a plugin could do so ...

  • WVC210 Camera selects wrong wireless network ... How to select wireless network? (multiple networks)

I have a WVC210 camera that works fine wired.
But I can not use it wirelessly, because on startup it connects to the wrong wireless network.  All of my neighbors have wireless networks, so there are six wireless networks within range of the camera, it is therefore not suprising that the camera might select the wrong one first.
So.. how do I specify the wireless network that I want my camera to connect to?
I have tried various experiments, such as disabling all security on my wirless networks, but the WVC210 camera still selects the wrong wireless network.
I can tell that it is going to the wrong network, because after DHCP completes on my camera, the resolved IP is not from the subnet of the wireless network in my house.
For comparison, I found the PDF for a Linksys WVC54GCA it is possible to select from all available wireless networks... But I can't find a way with my WVC210 to select from all available wireless networks and stop the WVC210 from defaulting to the wrong wireless network.
Is there a way to list the available wireless networks and specify a chosen wireless network with the WVC210
For reference search for "select wireless" in the following PDF to see how this is acomplished with the Linksys Wireless G camera:
    http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?blobcol=urldata&blobheadername1=Content-Type&blobheadername...
What is the equivalent technique for the WVC210?

    Hi,
I bought linksys wireless ip camera wvc210 four years back. I lost camera installation CD. I tried to search it on internet but failed. Can you send me the link from where I can download or email me at [email protected]

  • Why does the "Import from Camera" selection open up iSight instead of my camera?

My Sony Cyber-Shot is connected my iMac through the included USB. About an hour - two hours ago I clicked on the Import from Camera option and it showed my videos recorded using my camera, but now when I click the option it opens up the built in iSight instead. Can someone please help me? How can I get it to open up my camera video files instead of iSight?

I don't have the Sony, but on my Canon you have to have the camera in "play" mode and when you plug in the usb the camera asks to what do you want the camera to connect. You choose "computer." In other words, it makes a difference in what order you connect things.

  • Mirrorless Camera Selection - Kit Lens only?

Bestbuy should carry these cameras with the option of buying the body only, w/ prime lens or kit lens. I really do not see the reason for buying a pocket size camera and only using a huge kit lens .
Most people will never buy another lens so the kit lens will be a popular choice. Still some of us already have the kit lens or replace their pocket camera with a mirrorless+prime lens.

    Hi msocor,
I completely hear where you are coming from on this, and if I was ever to purchase a compact system camera I would be purchasing it as a more portable option to my DSLR. I have forwarded your idea onto the appropriate team here at our corporate headquarters.

  • Selective repaint() and Graphics2D transform?

    Hi all,
I am programming a graphic 2D simulation consisting of moving circles in the plane. I am trying to go for efficient repaint() invocations by repainting only those areas that need refreshing, i.e., the previous and new location (bounding box, to be exact) of each circle. This is similar to what is demonstrated somewhere in the Java Tutorial, where a small red square is dragged by the mouse and repainted efficiently. So far so good.
However, I would like to support transforming the view, to enable zooming and panning (as well as auto-fitting) in the simulation window (or panel or whatever). Transforming is typically also straightforward - just concatenate the desired transform onto the Graphics2D object in my paintComponent() override and that's it.
The typical flow in Java is to issue a repaint() somewhere in the application code (e.g., mouse listener, or in my case - when updating the simulation, panning, or zooming). This request is later addressed by a Swing thread in a call to paintComponent() which also passes the Graphics2D object on which the actual drawing and transforming is performed.
Now to the thing that puzzles me: What coordinates should I pass to repaint()? At that moment I do not possess the Graphics2D object, so I don't know the transform from user coordinates (in the graphics context) to the component's coordinates. Do I have to somehow query the current transform assigned to the control, add my pan/zoom transform to it, and then manually transform the coordinates of my circles before feeding them to my repaint() calls? This feels inelegant and inefficient to me: Basically all transformation will be calculated twice: Once by me for the repaint calls, and again by paintComponent() when actually rendering the circles. Perhaps I could save the redundant calculations by keeping
the manually transformed coordinates (or transformed copies of my Shapes), and then draw them in paintComponent() without applying the transform to the Graphics2D object.
These solutions don't look right to me. Does anybody have a better idea? It seems to me like a fairly common scenario: Efficient painting of a 2D animation supporting view transformation (e.g. zoom/pan). There must already exist a known "correct" way to do this!
    Hopefully...
    Noam

You can drag the frame sides/bottom to see what happens to the clip and transform of the graphics context of the white panel. The clip seems to be in white panel coordinates and the transform translation values are relative to the parent component.
Each parent component passes its graphics context on to its children to use to paint themselves.

  • Selecting Random notes for transform function

Has anyone figured out a way to select 'random' notes? I have a series of guitar chords through out a song, and I want to randomly go in and shorten lengths so that every note has a different length.
I have used 'humanize' and just alter lengths. I do several steps of varying strength. I've tried by selecting sub-divsion of beat. etc..
But I couldn't figure out a way to only 'randomly select notes' to operate on.
Anyone have any insight to offer?
    Thanx...

As I said earlier, you can't do anything with the audio.
MIDI, I used a system similar to yours. I was creating auto drummers, auto bass parts & chord players for live backing tracks. ( I think this was in Logic 4 - 7. It can be done in Logic 8, but I use MainStage for live work now.)
The auto instruments created their own parts from a set of rules I gave each one. This meant that the backing tracks were always consistent in their feel, but never played a piece the same twice running. I did this as an experiment for several years with varying degrees of success. It was most successful with the George Shearing/Errol Garner styles of jazz harmony and with Latin & Afro/Latin rhythms. I had some useful results with Arab/Greek belly dance rhythms.
They were created in the Environment with a complex series of delay loops, transformers & chord memorizers. They took quite a while to build & the results did not always justify the time spent. The drums were the most useful, but Ultrabeat can do a similar job for much less effort.

  • What is the T-Voice app(NBN only)?

If you're a Telstra customer on the NBN you can now turn your iPad or Android tablet into a home phone with the T-Voice app(NBN only)! The app is free to download and can be used to make and receive calls using your fixed voice service on the NBN, just like a normal handset. It's compatible with all Telstra T-Bundle® and T-Broadband™ on the NBN plans, and any calls you make will be charged at the same great value rates in your current call plan.
    Key Features
    - Super quick and easy set up process - get calling in seconds!
    - Gain control over how your calls are handled with powerful features like call forward, call waiting and MessageBank
    - Add and / or Synch contacts with your iPad or Android Tablet
    - Make intercom calls between every handset, or T-Voice app, that is connected to your T-Gateway™
    Some things to remember
    - Compatible with Android 3.2.x / 4.x on the following tablets: Samsung Galaxy Tab v8.9, Samsung Galaxy Tab v10.1, Asusu Nexus 7, Asus EEEPad Transformer, Motorola Xoom v1, Motorola Xoom v2, Sony 9” Tablet, Telstra Touch Tablet.
    - Compatible with iOS 5.x / 6.x on iPad versions 1, 2 and 3 only
    - The app will NOT work with iPhone or iPod Touch
    - Requires a compatible T-Bundle or T-Broadband on the NBN plan connected to a T-Gateway
    - Only available to customers with Telstra services on the NBN in Australia
    - While the app itself is free to download it will count towards your data usage and any calls made will be rated in accordance with the underlying voice charges in your T-Bundle or T-Broadband plan.
How does the T-Voice app (NBN only) work?
The T-Voice app connects to your T-Gateway over Wi-Fi, and connects to the underlying fixed voice service on the NBN allowing you to make and receive calls as if it were any other telephone handset.
Does the T-Voice app offer High Definition calling?
The T-Voice app on the T-Voice Advanced service on the NBN is capable of a High Definition (HD) calling experience.
The quality of your calling experience is dependent on a few factors:
Whether you are making a call to another HD capable handset
Wi-Fi distance: The T-Voice app connects to the T-Gateway over Wi-Fi.  The closer to the gateway, the better the calling experience.
Wi-Fi connection: If there are multiple connected devices or heavy data usage over your T-Gateway, the calling experience may be reduced.
Hardware: The quality of the device (microphone, speakers, processor etc) may impact the calling experience.
How do I make internal calls with the T-Voice app(NBN only)?
When you first set up the T-Voice app on your tablet, you’ll be asked to assign a number to the device.  This number can then be used to make and receive internal calls between devices in the home.  These calls are free and are made by calling the device number then pressing #.  For example 1#
Will the T-Voice app sync with my native device contacts?
Yes.  All your contacts on your tablets are automatically imported into the contacts list in the T-Voice application.
Can I use the T-Voice app over any internet connection?
No. The T-Voice app can only be used within range of your home T-Gateway Wi-Fi.
Can I make a Video call through my T-Voice app(NBN only)?
No. The T-Voice app does not support Video Calling.
Can I use the T-Voice app(NBN only) on my T-Hub / Windows Tablet, PC, Mac or Smartphone?
No. The T-Voice app is only available on the specified iPad and Android Tablets.

Thanks for taking the time to reply Lathania and I do understand this position. I am also certain that Telstra do have some appreciation for the risk of people like me changing providers because we cannot achieve what we want technically as opposed to supporting a vast quantity of people who probably don't have the skill or desire to set up their own soft phones (or even create their own personal PABX, scary right!). Competitors such as iiNet do allow such things and publish their SIP settings. I expect that Telstra may also feel they have 12 to 24 months to figure out their policy in this area as that is when people who signed up to the NBN will start to come off their contract period. I for one hope they will allow a little more flexibility with regard to how we utilise the NBN. Not just VOIP settings but router alternatives as well. I use pfsense but have to have it sitting behind the Telstra gateway because I cannot configure or replace the VOIP functionality so I don't get the best out of either product. There are a number of people asking the same questions in this forum and you can bet that for everyone that asks a question, there are another 10 or 20 wanting to do the same thing. Lets hope Telstra sees the value in not inhibiting these sort of users.
