Camera settings on Blackberry Q10

Hello,
I recenlty bought a Q10, and have just discovered all the pictures I have recently taken are not on the media card but on the phone only.
Having find some instructions on the interenet about to save on media card, I have the following problem:
The option of 'Save on Media Card' Pictures and videos can be saved to a media card, if available.
This option will not allow me to turn on or off, so how do I transfer my new pictures to my media card in my Q10?
Anyone have any ideas?

If the option appears to not be there to save your pictures to the media card, then I'd suggest the media card may not be formatted.  Take a look and see if you can browse the media card.
Also, when you connect your Q10 to a PC or Mac, provided you've enabled your storage options both the user accessible shared memory on the device as well as your media card should mount as external drives.  You could transfer the files from internal memory to the media card that way.

  • Advanced Camera Settings for BlackBerry Z10 Camera

When I see Apps like ProShot and Nokia Camera and the features they provide on Windows Phones, I really feel that a lot could be done with the BlackBerry 10 Camera. The BB10 Camera still lacks the features like setting the ISO and Stutter Speed as we could do in manual mode in even cheap Nokia Lumia Phones.
Is there by any chance possible for BlackBerry to introduce these advanced features to BlackBerry 10 Camera in future updates?

  • Camera on my blackberry won't open

Hi. I need help. The camera on my blackberry won't open.  It says "Could not start the camera.  Close other applications and try opening the camera again."  I have already closed the applications, tried to reset the settings, remove battery but still the camera won't open.

I've had a nokia as my primary phone for the better part of a decade and the E71x is my first smart phone.  I've only had it a matter of days, but I've found the same problems with the camera as described above.  I've found two ways to fix/avoid the problem.
First: Just turn the phone off and restart.  In other words, all applications using the camera are terminated.
Second:  This is where I believe the problem is.  The phone was designed to multitask.  If you hold the home (house button) down you can toggle between open applications.  This is much like holding alt and pushing the tab button on a standard windows pc.  The inherent problem is that the camera function WHEN CLOSED IMPROPERLY is no longer accessible or recognized by the firmware.  In other words, if you just push the red/'end call' button to exit your camera session you will run into this problem.  The SOLUTION is that you MUST exit the camera operation EACH TIME.  Note:  If you start using your 'multitask' button you will find how this applies to all the programs we're used to on nokia phones.  So, as annoying as it is, while you are in the OPERATIONAL camera mode, push your soft left button (topmost left) to access the options menu.  Select your options and scroll to exit.  If you EXIT THE CAMERA MODE PROPERLY the phone will no longer consider it a running program.  THIS IS A GLITCH.  In the end it is a good habit to terminate programs that are not in use, but the problem with the camera access is testiment to firmware problems that we are more than likely not going to see a fix for.  This is a good phone and I've never been unsatisfied with owning a nokia, but this particular problem seems like an oversight in firmware.  With proper application closing in mind, you should never run into any major problems with this phone.  But like I've said, I've only had it a matter of days.

  • In camera settings 'Save to Media Card' is ghosted..

I have the media card inside the phone, it is formatted and recognized but when I go to camera settings I do not have the ability to "Save Pictures to Media Card" - the slider on/off is there but I can not move it to turn it on.
Does anyone know how to set this?

Try removing the SD card and reinserting, and at the same time, remove the battery and reinsert.
    Then, check that setting again.

  • Blackberry Q10 - Bluetooth Audio gone / Contacts not shown in HUB

    Dear Blacberry Community,
I have some questions regarding my Blackberry Q10, that I use since not even a year.
    1. If I buy a mobile phone from a company that wants to be the star in the business world, why do I have to solve any issues with the help from other users? That the company that produces the product is not able to fix it themselves may be part of the problems...
    2. After my last recovery action the phone does not show the name for some specific contacts in the Hub, though caller ID and contacts entry is ok. Still, the Hub only shows only the number.
    3. After an OS software update the phone occassionally failed to contact to my car via bluetooth to play audio files - The hands-free speakerphone always worked and works! But I used to play the MP3 files stored on my phone via bluetooth on the cars stereo system. Similar problem like this.
Sometimes it works, sometimes the option Bluetooth Audio was not available in the cars built-in stereo.
After finding no solution in the internet I decided to re-install the phone software. After recovering the phone (and loosing half of the contacts that magically got lost during the backup process, and picking up problem no.2) it worked ok - until it started again, getting worse day by day. Sometimes the music started, but on the phone, not on the car speaker.
Then came the new software update to 10.2.1.2977.
Instead of the anticipated fix this update did something unexpected. Now, the Bluetooth Audio function does not work at all, never. I already deleted the bluetooth connection with the car, and reinitiated it, but no change. Phone works, Audio doesn't.
Which basically means that I do not use the audio function anymore. Which I consider a cool statement, such as driving a Mercedes S-Class, but you can't give the three blondes on the curbside a lift, because at the last inspection the Mercedes workshop accidently removed the rear bench - and then asked you to ask other Mercedes drivers to install it back in.
Bluetooth Audio connection to bluetooth speakers works, though.
Anybody a good idea? I'm reluctant to re-install the phone again, since it damaged as much as it fixed last time. And didn't last long.
How about a software update that, for a change, fixes the problem, instead of creating it?
    Thanks!

    I'm having the same issues.
My NEW Q10 will work fine for phone connection in my Hyundai Elantra GT(2013). It will connect via bluetooth to similarly enable speakers(Altec theJacket - not the XL) but NO AUDIO through the connected speakers!!! This is quite frustrating. The manual says it supports about a dozen 'profiles'. The Q10 supports APT-X technology, but not many speaker manufacturers support this. The Altec XL-Jacket is twice the price of theJacket.
When will BB fix the audio streaming problem? This is a major nuiscence!

  • Problems with email account on BlackBerry Q10

At the start of this week I had 2 email accounts on my BlackBerry Q10.
Calls/SMSes and emails were all being received/sent/allowed without any issue (through wifi and/or usual network connection). The ONLY exception to this was that I was NOT able to send emails from 1 of my 2 email accounts since Monday evening.
When I tried to send a message through this email account on my Blackberry the message showed up with the same icon/symbol to its left as though it was a received message...
I have had this issue before occasionally. Previously i have removed battery and re-started and there has been no problem. This week such a solution didn't work.
I am wondering if it could be an issue due to work performed on the server where our mail is hosted at the start of the week which has 'upset' my Blackberry?
In the end I deleted this faulty 2nd email account this morning and since then am unable to reinstall it...
    Messages I get from regular email account adding is: 'make sure your email address and passwod are entered correctly. If you're trying to add a work account, make sure your enterprise activation code has not expired. Contact your administrator for support;
When I try the advanced option I receve the error message: 'the server mail for your account is not responding. please check your settings and try again'
I have added the exact same email account to my father's iPhone this afternoon and the account has been added and is working fine.
Any ideas why it shoudl work without a problem on the iPhone - and more importantly how to solve the problem and re-add the email account to my BlackBerry? (And then - how to be able to send the messages - if I still have an issue then with sending emails...)
    Thanks!

    Thanks again.
I think it is unlikely that the one email account is interefering with the other one. They have 'happily co-existed' for about a year but maybe I could try removing the one that is currently working, I guess, just to double-check...
How would I know if they are 'BES connected'? I don't remember setting them up initially - it was so long ago... ...and I didn't see any 'prompt' today when trying to add the account back asking if the account should be 'BES' or not?
I did contact our hosting guys but they maintain it is not sth they have done. In any case it still works on my father's iPhone so it seems it is rather a BlackBerry problem in general rather than an issue with my server?
Yes, my BlackBerry ID is related with the email account that I can't add... Could that be an issue? I do have a second email address that I tried to add on this email account (which is different to my BlackBerry ID) and I was unable to add that either - so it would also seem this is not the issue here?
    Thanks for the suggestions...

  • Feature Request: Blackberry Q10 Search Configuration Option to "SHOW ALL" Results without clicking an arrow to expand

    Hi,
So my search function does not find "Contacts", in order to search for contacts I need to go into the "Contacts" application/menu. Previously, I would be able to search for contacts using the Global search.
Not sure if this is supposed to be a feature, to separate searching for email content versus phone contacts, but I suspect it's probably a Blackberry Q10 glitch.
Oddly enough I added a contact called "Some New" now in the Search if I type "some" the "Some New" contact doesn't show up yet until I type "some n".
Ah I see, so the Blackberry by default in the search shows only the first few results and makes me click an arrow to expand results.
Perhaps a Default search setting to show ALL Results:
    phone variable(s)
    MYVER:

  • The touchscreen is too sensitive on my Blackberry Q10 to scroll down to read text in Huffington Post.

I enjoy reading Huffington Post online, but when I try to do so on my Blackberry Q10 it is virtually impossible, since I almost always activate a link, without wanting to, when I try to scroll down to read text.  Is there any way to adjust the touchscreen sensitivity on my Blackberry Q10 or is there some other solution?

I actually had trouble reading through an article on their website with my Z10.  The thing is, to be honest, the whole page is full of links and their website is.... not very good.  You can't avoid touching a link when you try to scroll because their is no "non-linked" area after the article.  It's one of the only sites I've noticed that problem.  I haven't gone back, but maybe request the desktop version in your browser settings?

  • Blackberry Q10 Suggestion / Enhancements & Bugs

    Blackberry Q10
    Ideas for New Stuff
    - an Option - to assign hard buttons on device to selected actions
    - an option - in accounts - select a folder which will be displayed in the HUB and not just an Account. I would like to see my InBox and not see any other folders if they are synched.
    - an option - to Kill an App when you swipe up - rather than having it still keep running. Do Keep the current operatating option though.
    - On Reminders - show the Outlook email with Follow Up Flags turned on and allow user to manage the OUtlook Follow Up Flag - dates / reminders / etc. from the phone.
    - On the HUB - allow user to configure which folders show up both in LIST and in the HUB folder itself. I may or may not want Twitter or LinkedIn in this list - I would like to be able to include / exclude them.
    - Reminders - allow to view in Calendar mode - it's really effective to see both your appointments and your Tasks and your Follow Up flagged items from OUtlook on the phone in a Calendar View.
    - Reminder - expand Sort / ordering / columns viewed / filtering options.
    - ALL APPS - Have every APP be rquired to have the lower tool bar (bottom of screen) ALWAYS disappear when the user scrolls down. Have them all re-appear when the user then scrolls up. This should be a standard for All Apps. The screen is small and App makers need to confirm to this so users can see more content.
    - ALL APPS - Have every App follow the basic keyboard commands - T (top) - B (bottom) - Spacebar (page down), etc.
    Bugs
    - Add / change a birthday on the device - Contacts app. This birthday does not roll into Outlook Calendar (connected with ActiveSynch) so the Birthday shows up on the calendar. You must - Log On to Outlook - you open the contact - edit the birthday and save it.
    - Reminders / Tasks - make sure the tasks in Reminders synch with Outlook without any issues / bugs when on ActiveSynch. Right now there are a few things which don't synch properly.

  • Blackberry Q10 Contacts Issues

We are having some issues with the Blackberry Q10 contacts and how it merges contacts together.
All of the contacts needed in the phone are stored in an Exchange account. When we added the Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter accounts, it added contacts from those accounts as well into the contact list. We do not need these contacts to be synced, but I didn’t see a way to add the accounts without having the contacts sync with the phone. The major problem we are having is that the phone is merging contacts of seemingly random people. It would merge people together with completely different names with seemingly no reason to merge together. This leads to various issues like the wrong picture showing up and the wrong name showing up while making and receiving calls.
In addition to wanting help with resolving this issue, I have a few relevant questions.
    1)      Is there any way to Unlink all of the contacts so we can quickly resolve the issue of random people being merged together?
    2)      Is there any way to have Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn accounts on the phone but without having their contacts/connections synced into the phone’s contact list?
    Thanks

As stated you can unlink them one by one. You can also remove Facebook, Twitter etc contacts from the phone book list. By swipping down from the top of the screen, then select settings. There you will see, show accounts in contact list. You can select off to remove Facebook, Twitter etc.
However if you have a contact in your phone book who is also one of your Facebook, Twitter etc etc friends, those contacts details will be linked together and as stated, you'll have to unlink them one by one.

  • Exchange Server 2010 and BlackBerry Q10

I would like to connect Blackberry Q10 phones to our mail server. The server is a SBS 2010 and it already uses PPTP vpn.
I would prefer using VPN, rather than a forwarded ports for the services.
The phone doesn't support PPTP, and it has errors when using IMAP.
The phone supports Microsoft IKEv2 VPN, that would be the best solution but i cannot make it work.
The phone connects perfectly on corporate WiFi when using Exchange ActiveSync connection settings.
Can you help me with some guidance? How can I set up an IKE2 VPN or how can i put ActiveSync, or POP3 ports safely on the web? And if it's POP3 then, how can I configure it, so the mails are remaining on server?
    Thank you for your help!

If you have the phone accepting ActiveSync internally, you have half the battle.  Now you need to proxy your CAS to the Internet (only need port 443 for this) and you will be set.  Read the following page and its subpages for the details of ActiveSync
and what you need to do to enable it externally:

As you can see from the chart above, the BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry Q10 are almost identical when it comes to specs. wever, I found the Q10 offered a better quality screen that also provided more impressive viewing angles. This is due to the Z10’s lesser quality LCD Disply that only pumps out a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels, while the Q10’s S-AMOLED 720p screen flourishes above.
In the end, I came to the conclusion that the handset that appeals to the larger majority of smartphone customers is the Z10. This device represents what people are accustomed to in the year 2013, while the Q10 appeals to a shrinking customer base that prefers a physical keypad over a virtual one.

Q10 vs. Z10 is a highly personal choice. As you pointed out in the specs the basic internals are identical. It comes down to full touch screen vs. physical keyboard. For a traditionalist like me it's the Q10 FTW. But then I cut my teeth on BlackBerrys all the way back to the 7230 model. BlackBerry's outstanding physical keyboard is ingrained in my DNA by now. I've also used Android phones and an iPhone so I'm no stranger to the full touch screen, and I even got used to the on-screen keyboards with that form factor. But the Q10 for me has just enough of a screen that I don't miss the full size screen too much, and it's more than compensated for by the keyboard I love so much.
The best choice is to have them both! But if you must pick one, best to go to a store and try them both out for as long as the sales reps will tolerate you.

  • Os 10.3 expected release for blackberry Q10 with videotron

    Hi,
I own a blackberry q10 on the videotron network. I can't update my device to the os 10.3 to be able to use blackberry blend and the new functions.
Do you know when I can expect the release of the update for the q10 device with videotron?
    Thanks a lot

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
No one here, in this user-to-user community, has any access to the answer to your question. Indeed, even BB does not know...for it is the responsibility of each carrier to approve the OS released by BB and then subsequently release it to their users. So, the proper place to pose your question is indeed to your carrier, as it is they who control it for you.
    Good luck!

  • How to include camera settings on actual image during export

Is there a way to include camera settings directly onto the image upon export of image(s) in Aperture Program?

Not without a plug-in.  Aperture does not allow compositing.
The plug-in BorderFX can likely allow you to do what you want, and more.  Recommended.

  • Synchronizing Outlook Calendar and Contacts with Blackberry Q10

I got a new Blackberry Q10 device and wanted to synchronize it with my Outlook calendar and contacts on my notebook. I installed Blackberry Link on the notebook. But in a pop down menu I was only allowed to choose from 2 pst-files which are not the correct ones. The one I want to choose is in another folder. But how can I select this one to synchronize with?
Thanks for your help. And sorry for the silly question, but I am only a very normal user without any specific know how.
    Kind regards
    Malika

    Hey MalikaBauer,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
Is the Microsoft Outlook profile that you're currently trying to access on an Microsoft Exchange server or is hosted at a different location?  If so, you will not be able to access that PST with BlackBerry Link.
BlackBerry Link currently only supports local PST files.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.
