Camera stop recording in random hours

Hi everyone!
I have an issue with my VSM recordings, some cameras stop recording at random hours, suddenly stop and I can't see any event log that could make sense whats heppening. Those cameras are configured as motion recording template. Does anybody knows how I can get to the problem?  Or any linux command that can help? I am new on VSM Cisco enviroment by the way.

Best Regards!

Was on phone with tech support on this one for 2+ hrs. The issue is addressed in bug search CSCuq48083. Recommended firmware upgrade to 2.0.3-27 and vsom to 7.5.1. So far, have only done firmware upgrade on one camera. Don't think that fixed it. Will try to do software upgrade next.

  • Why Does My Camera Stop Recording in the Middle of a Video??

Why does my Rebel T3i stop recording in the middle of me video taping?? Is it because I do not have enough space on my camera for a video? It lets me take plenty more pictures. And when it stops in the middle of a recording, I start recording again, and it works for a little while then stops again! I really don't get it. It is extremely frustrating because I am left with all these chopped up video segments and I completely miss something that my baby is doing (the reason I started taping in the first place!) I am begining to wonder if I should just invest in a video camera instead of taping with my camera. I would REALLY prefer not to, seeing as how I spent a fortune on it, and would like it to do what it is intended to do! Can someone please help??

The camera formats the memory card using the "FAT32" filesystem rather than a proprietary filesystem.  This allows the card to be read by nearly any computer (Windows, Mac, etc.)
HOWEVER... there's a limitation in that filesystem that no single file can grow above a specific size.  That size is 4GB.
Also, the camera documentation describes that the camera will stop just 1 second short of the 30 minute mark regardless of the file size.
In pro video, movies are normally constructed by bringing together many very short clips.  The one-long-continuous-take video style isn't used.  If you are attempting to record a long event in one-long-continuous-take then it would be better to use a video camera for the task.

  • LabVIEW SignalExpress stops recording after 20 hours

    Hi,
I'm recording 8 channel voltage using SignalExpress 2010 with USB 6221 board. I have an 8-channel recording step, a 4-channel ToAscii step and another 4-channel ToAscii step. The ToAscii goes to a USB external hard drive. I've been trying to record for 72 hours straight. I've tried 3 computers with the following results:
Windows XP - 4GB- Core 2 Duo:  Computer is unresponsive after 48 hours. Have to force restart
Windows XP - 4GB- Core 2 Duo. Records for 20 hours then SignalExpress stops writing to disk. The traces on SignalExpress stop changing. But the External hard drive is still spinning.
Windows 7 - SI 2009: Same as the 2nd situation except after one hour.
I need it to be stable for 72 hours.

    Hello
    There,
    It
seems like you are encountering a bandwidth limitation and maybe over-utilizing
the USB bus network.  A good way to relieve some of the bandwidth usage is
to reduce the amount of communication/transfers on the USB network.  With
that said, can you use an internal hard drive instead of a USB external drive?
Try to specify the ASCII/LVM file in a local disk instead of an external
disk.  Regarding acquisition, what are the sampling rates for the analog
input channels?  Sampling at a considerably fast rate will cause your
system to crash if the USB bus cannot handle offloading the information in time.
You can reduce bandwidth by reducing the sampling rate of your
acquisition.  Note that the maximum transfer rate for USB 2.0 is about 480
MB/s and can fluctuate depending on various factors.   I would reference

  • IPhone 6 camera stops recording at 7 seconds

Consistently stops after 7 seconds on initial launch, but if I hit the record button again without exiting the app it records until I stop it.  Is this a camera app problem or hardware problem?  Is anyone else experiencing something similar?

    Specifically -
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.Try turning iPhone off on back .Find this on a different place give it a try & hope so help you out .

  • My canon t3i dslr camera automatically stops recording after about 10 sec. using a class 10 card.

    Hello,
My canon t3i dslr camera stops recording automatically after about 10 sec. the manual said to use an SD card of class 6 or higher. I am using a class 10 and I have been able to record long videos in the past and all of a sudden the camera stops recording automatically after about 10 sec. Does anyone know why?  thanks

    Hi Rockinruby.
We get this a lot here.  It turns out that even though the card is labeled as a Class 10 card, the most common problem when this occurs... is that it's still a defective card.
Sandisk is a good company and they generally make solid products.  But there are two risks... (1) even Sandisk will occasionally have a bad card or a card that fails prematurely, and (2) it's exceptionally easy to create a forgery (if you peel the labels off these cards, they all look identical.)
When I buy cards (and I also buy Sandisk and/or Lexar cards), I'm careful to buy cards which well-exceed the specs necessary ... but I'm also careful to buy the cards only from reputable dealers.
If you do a search, you'll find LOTS of articles about fake cards with tips on how to avoid them or how to spot them.
But the bottom line ... at the end of the day you just want your problem solved.  If the card is bad, then there's nothing that you  would be able to do to the camera to make the problem away.  You would really need to replace that card.
The issue that you are having is somewhat common... there are lots of threads on this.  But the majority of these are actually solved simply by replacing the card with a known good card and without making any changes to the camera.
It's not a guarantee that it's the card... but it's the most common cause.

  • QT Pro Stops Recording Randomly

I am using QT Pro 7 to record with my iSight camera on my 13" unibody MacBook. It will simply stop recording (time lapse in bottom left hand corner stops and memory used in bottom right corner stop elapsing). However, the video still appears live. I stop the recording at that point and it just hangs. What's frustrating is that I can think I have been recording for a long time at that point because the video remains live, the green iSight light is on etc, and I may have only recorded two minutes of video which is corrupted anyhow. I called Apple and got the run around (apparently NO department handles QT Pro questions).
I know it's a long shot but the recording I lost today (about an hour long) due to this bug was really important to me. Is there any way anyone knows of where I could find the raw data of this somwhere in the computer? Do you think it may have actually still been recording somewhere even though it appeared to stop?

To the latter 2 questons, no, and no.
QT is not the greatest recorder but you might find Quicktime Broadcaster to be a lot more trustworthy and it is free.

  • Audacity randomly stops recording after a few seconds

I've been trying to record a few things with audacity, which has generally worked pretty well for me in the past.
However, whenever I try to record a second track, it only records for a second or so after I hit the record button, and then randomly stops, although the cursor keeps on moving forwards and the meter keeps showing the input.
I haven't been able to find any reason why it would be doing this, and it is EXTREMELY fustrating. It has also done this when I tried to record for the first time in a new project, but I switched a few settings on and off again and it worked for some reason. Can anyone offer any help?

Is this still a problem for anyone?  I came here looking for help and found more questions, so I started randomly playing with the input settings.  I have an Ensoniq (es1371).  Choosing OSS/DSP gave me an error trying to read the device; choosing hw0:0 or 0:1 had it stop recording at just over 0.6 seconds; turning software playthrough on or off had no effect.  What finally worked was "ALSA:Default" and use alsamixer to control the recording source.
At the risk of being branded a linux hater, I should mention that the same hardware under Windows "just works" without any changes needed in the input settings on my part.  I fired up Windows 7 in a vmware window - so not only did the Windows environment work correctly out of the box, that was with the additional layer of alsa -> vmware -> windows.

  • Macbook Air 13" Camera stops working after a few hours. Needs Restart to be functioning again. How do I fix this?

    Hello!
The camera stops working. Not detected by any program (Facetime, Skype, Hangouts, Zoom). This happens usually after a few hours of work or after the computer sleeps. To make the webcam function again I need to restart.
    Any suggestions?

Why does that seem likely to be a hardware issue? How did you come to that conclusion? Do you know something about this issue that indicates that? (I realise that this might sound short and rude - I am not trying to be rude here - just to understand) My thought is that conventional troubleshooting would say that this is a software issue because it is fixed with a restart.
I also have this problem. The camera quits working after some time - I have not been able to make it stop working. Sometimes it is after I suspend the computer (close the lid) other times it still works.
All I know is that intermittently my camera stops working and it is a big pain to have to reboot whenever I am going have a video chat.
Anyone got any solutions, I'm not covered by applecare so would rather try and fix it myself if possible?

  • Track stops recording after about an hour

    Hi Everyone,
I am trying to record from some old tapes in order to create mp3s. The track stops recording after about one hour. The Tape is over one hour long. I read about a similiar problem in the forum and tried dragging the purple timeline marker to the right but it won't move any further. What is this called and what does it do? I also read about changing the sampling rate, but I cannot find where to do this. Where do I find documentation on this?
    Many Thanks for any suggestions.
    Regards,
    Bill

Garageband 3 doesn't record more than 1999 beats (GB2: 999). Since in your case the beats don´t matter, you can lower the tempo to the minimum (40 bpm) to get a maximum recording time of 3:18:48.
As for the sample rate: You can't change the export sample rate of GB, it's always 16 bit, 44.1 kbit/s (internally GB works with a higher resolution).

  • Stop recording randomly. Video is corrupted.

I used my camera to record myself riding a motorcycle. Whenever I stopped my bike to check the camera, I noticed that the camera had automatically switched off. I kept pushing the record button but got the same result all day long. I went home hoping that some of my day was caught on camera. They were priceless memories that I cannot get back. When I tried to retrieve the videos, they were all corrupted and not recognized by my computer except for a couple short test videos I took at a standstill. I have a Sandisk Ultra 32GB microSDHC Class 10 memory card. I have the camera mounted on my motorcycle with Ram Mount hardware. Why is my camera doing this? What can I do to fix and prevent this problem?

    Hello Kay,
Depending on the camera and battery temperature, the power may turn off automatically to protect the camera.
When you continue to shoot for a long time, the temperature of the camera rises.
If the temperature reaches above a certain level, shooting stops automatically.
Leave the camera for 10 minutes or longer to allow the temperature inside the camera to decrease to
    a safe level.
When the temperature of the camera rises, the image quality may deteriorate. It is recommended
that you wait until the temperature of the camera drops before continuing to shoot.
Ensure that the battery is fully charged before operating the Camcorder.
Set the “Auto Power Off” option in the Camcorder as OFF.
Did you try transferring the videos using PlayMemories Home (PMH) Software?
For importing the videos to the Computer, refer the below link.

You can contact DriveSavers Support from the below link to check for available options to retrieve the corrupted videos.

  • Soundtrack Pro Stops Recording Randomly

I'm using STP Version 3.0.1 on a Mac Pro (OSX 10.6.5, 2.8 Ghz Quad Core Xeon and 16 GB RAM). I'm recording to a RAID Drive that's separate from my system drive (1.74 TB free).
I record through a Project Mix I/O connected by Firewire.
When I press record on either the I/O or by clicking on it in Soundtrack the file will stop recording after a random duration. Anywhere from about 0.03" to 00:01:45 or so - although much more frequently on the short end.
I've deleted my preferences, run software update and reinstalled Soundtrack (and Compressor) but the problem keeps occurring.
    Any suggestions?

  • Why my iPhone Voice Memos sometimes randomly stop recording

    Hello everyone,
I'm using my iPhone 6 Plus Voice Memos app to record my lecture in the university, the problem is sometimes the app stop recording and this is causing me major problem.
Note that I'm putting my iPhone on Airplain mode to avoid stopping the recording if someone called me.
The WiFi is sometimes ON while recording, but in all cases the Airplain mode is on
at the end I need to record my classes lectures for more then 60 minutes normally sometimes 160 minutes.
    Thank you.

    Hey there Al-Shatti Jr.,
If your Voice Memos are still unexpectedly not recording after some time, I would recommend quiitting the app itself first:
iOS: Force an app to close
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the best,
