Camera turns on

On new skype my camera tunrs on when I accept calling,then I must turn it off becouse I do not want show my cam.On old skype I did not have that problem....WHY?

Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool (32-bit version).
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.

Panorama shots in my camera turned bluish when I upgraded to ios7.. Is there a bug? How can I fix it?

When I upgraded to iOS7, the images produced by the panorama feature of the camera turned bluish (slightly similar to a night mode using low end phone cameras). I already downloaded the latest updates on iOS7. Images from the normal camera and the square one are okay. Only the panorama has some sort of bug. :(

Have you tied the standard fixes:
- Reset:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
-restore the iPod from backup
- Restore the iPod to factory defaults.

The iMac camera turns on when iTunes is open

When ever I open iTunes the build in camera turns on and if I open face time at the same time I get a message saying there aren't any cameras available

I am having the same problem since installing Mountain Lion--podcasts that I delete from iTunes are still on my devices such as iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. How do you get them off without having to erase and reinstall everything?

Camera turns dark

Hi everybody.
I have my iPhone4 for about 5 weeks now and I really like it.
But at times I have a bit of a problem using the camera.
The camera works fine but suddenly the cam turns dark. Restarting the camera app doesn’t help. When I move the camera into light then I can see a really dark und weak signal on the screen. So it still works but it is too dark.
But it works again when I try it some time later.
I don’t know what it is.
Any ideas?

I had the same problem with occasional dark pictures... i noticed this only happens when I the flash is used... because when the flash is off pictures do come out ok...
and i discovered (embarrased on my stupidity), it seems i still havent removed the plastic protector at the back of the iPhone4. it appears the plastic diffuses the light from the flash and affects picture output drastically.

Sony NEX 5N Issue! Camera turns on, but shows no info on LCD and goes dark after shutter release.

I have a Sony NEX 5N, that has been a great camera since I originally purchased it. It suddenly started to have a strange issue that is rendering it useless. The camera turns on, and shows an image on the LCD. You can even focus and take a shot, but the LCD is missing all info, and all buttons are useless. After taking a pic, the camera goes dark, and stays there. I've tried a soft reset, and removing the battery for extended amounts of time. Is there anything else I can try?

Can I zoom with camera on I pad? Why do I get red dot sometimes, when camera turned on?

The red dot usually means it's in video mode and that red dot is a simulation of a normal video camera's red record button. If you are on photo mode you can zoom in by putting 2 fingers on the screen and spreading htem out (just like you'd zoom on a website)
but it's a digital zoom, not an optical zoom...so it's really the same as zooming in on the finished photo. Your image will be lower quality if you zoom in. (the iPad camera is mediocre at best to begin with)

When someone calls me on Ichat my camera turns on and nothing else happens

If you do not see a Visible Invite to Accept then check if you are using the Auto Accept AppleScript
If you are turn it Off.
(iChat Menu > Preferences > Alerts > change the top drop down to Video Invite > check AppleScript option)

I assume you mean green reflection from the camera?
thats the AR coating on the lens.

Macbook Pro camera turns off and back on.

When I am videochating with my friends or for any reason I have my camera on, most of the times the camera turns off (Green Light Off) and then back on. While the light turns off my video gets stuck and then when the camera turns back on the video continues to function normally but it bother me a lot because it is a new computer I just bought for christmas and whenever I am videochatting the camera turns off and back on. I noticed from the pics that your location setting is "untitled." Have you tried the "Automatic" setting? Run the diagnostic test? Results?
Try the basics first:
Change your router channel number. Most times this works & is all you have to do.
Disconnect & reconnect your modem. unplug it for about 10 seconds. Plug it back in. Do the same for Apple’s routers. Wait for everything to reboot.
System Preferences>Network
Click the Assist Me button.
In the next window that pops up, click the Diagnostic button & do the necessary.

ISight camera turns off 1 second after starting

When the iSight camera turns on (green light turns on) it stays on for one or two seconds and then goes pssst and turns off. Audio chat works but Video Conferencing does not. Interesting to note that the iChatAV thinks the camera is attached. iSights (we have two) both work with 10.4.2 on other computers but not on any of our computers running 10.4.3. Have already downloaded the update to QuickTime. Any ideas?

If your iSight does not work with any of the tests suggested in How to test your iSight to ensure it is functional, have it professionally checked by an Apple Service Technician.
If your iSight worked for iChat AV video chats before the 10.4.3 upgrade, try the suggestions in Help for iChat AV 3 Problems.

IPhone camera turns off automatically!!!!!

I am having iPhone 4S, with IOS version 7.0.4.
I am facing problem with the camera with different cases:
1. When iMesage is decativated in the settings and i open my camera.. camera turns off automatically and i get a pop showing activate iMessage.
2. When i open camera and flip the camera icon to take self pic using front camera, it immediately goes off.
3. When music is being played and i try to open camera and flip the camera icon to take self pic using front camera. Camera goes off turning off the music too.
These are the problems i am facing with the camera in my iPhone 4S.

Standard troubleshooting steps:
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)
Backup and restore your software via iTunes. If the problem continues, restore as a NEW device. If this solves it, that means there is some corruption in your backup file, or maybe it's one of your apps causing the trouble. If the problem is still there, you should take it to the Genius Bar at an Apple Store for evaluation.

Camera turns off and back on.

My macbook pro camera turns off and back on when I'm videochating (Skype, Facebook VideoCall, Facetime) not with Photobooth.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

FaceTime camera turns off when switching between spaces

I will have the Facetime app on, have a conversation with a person. I have Mail opened up full screen in another "space." When I switch to that space, the camera turns off. I have to go back to the "space" that FaceTime is in in order to turn the camera back on. Is there a way to keep the camera on all the time when switching between different spaces and the Dashboard?

Having the same problem - In Snow Leopard, when I was on a FaceTime chat with a friend, I was able to navigate away from the FaceTime and surf, check the calendar and other stuff without pausing my video feed. In LION, for whatever reason, FaceTime pauses itself whenever I navigate away from the app. It's as if the application is FORCING me to stay in the conversation when, sometimes, I use FaceTime for TALKING, not VIDEO CONFERENCING.

Video Error and the camera turns off

I really hate this camera
The latest failure to operate in shooting HD video.
After 2-3 minutes of shooting i get the error message:
Press Button to Activate Movie Shooting
I was using a Lexmark 400x Class 10 card and yesterday upgraded to the SanDisk Extreme Pro 600X card. I still get this error.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this? It mades video shooting useless if it turns itself off.

A card can be rated to write at certain speeds, like 90 MB/s, but that is almost always not the sustained write speed. A card can burst write up to that speed, but needs to be able to maintain a constant speed that is high enough to keep up with the camera during video recording. In this case, the card you use needs to have a sustained video write speed of at least 30 MB/s. Check with the manufacturer of the card to make sure your card is fast enough.

Isight camera turns on itself

The isight camera led (green) of my new Macbook Pro turns on by itself. When the lid is adjust, it temporarily turns off or flickers. Can anybody help please.

Yes.
Users can test some portions of their Macs' hardware components by using Apple Hardware Test. Different Mac models have different ways of accessing AHT. See the User Guide manual that came with your Mac for specific instructions on how to use AHT for your particular Mac.
AHT can find some problems. However, in my experience, it often reports that all is well, even when the Mac is not working. Therefore, if AHT finds no problem, don't automatically conclude that all of your hardware is working.
Apple Authorized Service Providers have access to proprietary technical data, special tools, and much more robust testing equipment and software than AHT provides. Based on the description OP gave of his trouble, I think it almost impossibly unlikely that AHT would find anything that would help. That is why I did not include AHT info in my reply to OP.
