Camera with no zoom.....

Ok so i bought the iphone 3gs and i was wondering why hasn't apple added a zoom feature i mean this is the new iphone and it has a video camera and all this new stuff but no zoom i mean i've seen phones years old that have a zoom feature i know the camera isn't that good but it still has zoom. I love the new iphone but my only problem is with the camera i don't want to be all up in someone's face and take the picture thats not right i should be able to do this at a distance i'm not saying u should make a brand new iphone just to add this but make have a free app that makes the pictures look good and that we can zoom

You don't expect digital zoom to have good picture quality. iPhone 3GS does not have optical zoom like some Japanese cell phone released back in 2004. There aren't many cell phones with optical zoom either. Optical zoom provides the best zooming capability. iPhone 3GS however, does have auto focus and that's the most important thing when you need to take picture of documents or close up macro images.
If you want 3x or more optical zoom, I think you have to look somewhere else or just search online to purchase some external camera lens designed specially for iPhone.
Something like that I think that's what you really want huh??

Issues when using a Pixelink camera with LabView 9.0

In my lab, we have a program for video acquisition using LabView and the low level camera functions for Pixelink cameras. We run into some problems trying to run this program and other demo gui programs that came with the Pixelink SDK. In our data acquisition program, we have problems with our image coming out all scrambled. We use the low level functions to obtain a frame from the camera in the from of a vector. We then reshape the vector into an array and then send the array to a vi that turns it into an image. When we try to view this image using the standard Labview image viewer, the image comes out all scrambled if the zoom factor is not set to .5 on the image viewer. The full resolution of the image is supposed to be a 1024x1280 image which when we use the Capture OEM software for the camera provided by Pixelink we can see. The image that we can see through LabView when we have the correct zoom factor seems to be only the top left quarter of what the entire image is supposed to be. We also encounter strange problems when we attempt to use the demo programs for labview 8.6 that are provided with the SDK. When trying to run the simpleGUI.vi, for example, the program connects to the camera just fine. After you hit play to view an image, the problems start. The program will play the video for a few seconds until it just freezes up and quits responding. Labview must be exited and restarted in order for the camera to connect again. I am not sure if it makes a difference that we are running labview 9.0 on our computers or not. Any help you have on these issues would be of great help. Attached are pictures of the scrambled/unscrambled image and of the part of our block diagram for camera control.

IMAQdx is the driver that National Instruments provides to interface Firewire, GigE and USB cameras (Directshow compliant USB). This is a licensed driver, so if you don't currently have it, then testing in MAX is not an option.
So if I understand correctly, you have the Pixelink software which works fine, but you have Pixelink VI's that are used in LabVIEW, but those do not work correctly? That to me seems like a driver issue, which I'm not sure how much I can help with since it is not our driver.
Do you know what dll's the Pixel link VIs are calling into? Are they Pixelink dlls? If so, I would suggest speaking with the manufacturer or perhaps on of our other users has worked with Pixelink before.

Need camera with decent audio

I need a video camera for a limited private purpose--i need to video tape my guitar lessons. That way i can learn a lot more and forget less.
I got a little RCA Small Wonder which seemed perfect for what i need, it takes adequate quality videos, it fits in your pocket, and i tried it out the other night, the video was just what i need. But the audio is very bad, much of it has a lot of distortionm hard to listen to. I can't think of any way to make the audio better. It sounded like it was too close to the speaker, but it was about as far a way from the speaker as it could get in that room, several feet, and the volume being played through the speaker was not very loud.
I was looking at some cameras on the web but wasn't finding much about audio quality. I would like to get something not expensive, for this limited use, but i'll spend what i have to. I don't know anything about video cameras and don't know what i'm looking for though.
i dont' suppose there's any way of getting better sound out of the little RCA camcorde?

yes, i'll use iMovie. i just need any program that will let me play the videos and which has FF/RWD. that's the only one i have. DivXplayer doesn't have controls. quicktime won't play the audio.

MOTION 4: Can one key the camera with a Match Move behavior applied?

I have the camera with a match move applied from a group with movement, but while that group is moving, I would like the camera to be able to zoom in on the object, but I can't.
I seem to remember doing this before, but perhaps I just imagined that, lol...
Anyhow, I am able to add the zoom behavior, but it just zooms in indiscriminately, and I need to zoom into a specific part.
Any ideas?

I've found the solution for my missing 3D camera icon.
When I'm in (3D) perspective mode I found out that per default Motion doesn't show the camera icon.
I've to zoom out of the 3D scene to actually see this camera icon. As per default the view is inside from a gigantic camera, which is only visible when I zoom out.
Furthermore I understand that I can animate the camera via it's own transform properties. But I was just wondering where the camera move behavior as used in the templates with comes with Motion 3 came from.

I purchased a Canon Flash 430EX 11 to go with my Canon EOS 70D camera with an 18-135mm lens. The flash displays the icon confirming auto zoom only intermittenly and when it doesn't, twisting the camera zoom does not display on the flash screen. All batteries are charged and the flash is locked on to the camera.

I'm not entirely certain I understand your question. The 430EX II has can be put in a mode where it automatically follows the camera zoom (within limits... 24mm to 105mm) but you can ALSO put it into a mode where you manually control the flash zoom. If it's in the manual control mode then it will not automatically zoom.
It is important that the "wide" panel NOT be in-use (if you pull out and flip down the wide-panel then the flash will go to wide angle and will not zoom EVEN if it was in auto mode.)
Press the Zoom button, then use the - / + buttons to change the zoom.
When under manual control there's a black "M" icon which will appear next the word "Zoom". If the "M" is not present then it's in auto zoom mode.
Lastly... when you change the zoom on the camera lens, typically nothing will happen on the flash UNTIL you wake the system by doing a half-press of the shutter button. When the camera wakes up to meter and focus... that's when it adjusts the zoom on the flash head.

PrecisionHD 1080p 12X - CAMERA I: ERROR: Zoom motor init failed

Hi
My 12x camera is not responding for the PTZF properly and there is consistent noise from the camera.
Auto focus is not completing and the camera is continuously trying to zoom on and on.
Logs show "init failure" for Zoom motor. Is this a confirmed hardware failure.
Any options for recovery.

I'd assume it's hardware failure, if the motor doesn't respond, not sure what you could do yourself to check. If you have an active support contract for the codec that camera came with, I'd open a TAC case, most likely will have to RMA the camera.

It's about the mouse that came with it;..

my mighty mouse is over-sensitive, when I click on the side buttons to use expose it works, but every time i just lay y hand on the mouse it does expose too, and it gets REALLLYYY annoying when I'm using the computer and everything keeps zooming all over the place. Is there any way I can open the mouse or fix it somehow?

I've had this problem with every wired Mighty Mouse I've owned, although I have a wireless Mighty Mouse at work and it never has the problem. My old mice took a while to get this way, but I just got a brand new iMac, which came with a new MM, and it had the problem right out of the box.
Even though I don't use the side buttons for anything, disabling them isn't sufficient. You still hear the static-like clicking as if you'd squeezed the mouse. It drives me crazy. The first time it started happening I thought it was coming from the computer itself, and thought the hard drive might have been going bad.

My 8350i camera doesn't zoom any more.

I updated a few weeks ago and discovered that my camera has stopped zooming in or out on the subject that I am taking a picture of. I am not sure how to fix this and my destop computer fried the motherboard so I can't access anything on it to try to rollback to prior to my update. With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.

Why does only the USB cable that came with my phon...

I recently acquired a Nokia Lumia Icon from Verizon. I have a Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 computer running Windows 8.1 with the Windows Phone App for Desktop (WPA4D) installed. I had a very difficult time getting my Icon to be seen by my computer when connecting it with one of the half dozen micro USB cables I have laying around. WPA4D would not recognize it. Then, I connected it using the USB cable that came with the phone, and WPA4D immediately recognized it. Then I unplugged it and went back to a different cable - it was again not recognized.
What is different about the USB cable that ships with the Nokia Lumia Icon? If I want to order more, like from Monoprice, what do I order to get the same thing? Why is Nokia (apparently) using some sort of proprietary cable??

It is not proprietary.The charging/data cable for my GPS works.
A lot of the cables are just for charging and that is all they are wired for and they don't even have the data pin. Full size USB cables are the same way.
If I needed an extra I would get it from Nokia.

How to install Windows 8.1 Enterprise on Ultrabook which came with basic Windows 8.1

I guess I'm not the first one with this question but anyway...
I've got 2000EUR expensive Ultrabook recently, and what's interesting it came with Windows 8.1. Just standard basic Windows 8.1, not Pro or Enterprise.
Obviously I needed to upgrade it with larger SSD 1Tb and install Windows 8.1 Enterprise as I need Hyper-V and other Enterprise version functionality on day to day bases.
I was surprised that I can't do so as SLIC is reverting Windows 8.1 back to basics!!!
.. so my question is - How can I can Windows 8.1 Enterprise 64Bit on to very expensive Ultrabook which came with Windows 8.1?!?!

Enterprise edition of Windows Client OS, is not available via OEM and not via Retail - it's only available via Volume Licensing agreement.

I erased my macbook air and reinstalled the disc that came with it, but now iTunes wont find my iphone. What should I do?

I erased my macbook air because it was running really slow (it didn't resolve the problem). I reinstalled the disc that came with it (Mac OS X 10.6.8), but now iTunes cant find my iphone. I need to back up my data from my iphone 4s to my computer so I can transfer the info to my iphone 5. Can anyone help?

You can try it, but probably not.
This Apple article http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2134 explains that a Firewire-connected, tape-based camera or camcorder mode will work.
If you don't have access to one that works, a simple workaround is to record your video with QuickTimeX Player (the v.10.x one from Lion). You can import that recorded video into iMovie for editing.
If your Mac OS is earlier than Lion whose QuickTime does not offer movie recording as installed, use QuickTime7 Pro for recording.

I purchased a blu-ray of The Hunger Games and it came with a code for a digital copy. I redeemed the code on iTunes but the download has been continuing for 2 weeks now and it never finishes! The time just keeps going up. Never an issue in the past.

Your wifi problem sounds very much like the problem I had. The wifi would drop out, the icon showed it was still connected. If I turned it off, I couldn't turn it back on. Another user here pointed me to the problem, which was the wifi cable (the flat cable goint from the card to the motherboard). I found it on ebay for $13 and it's been running fine since I replaced it. This is the repair guide for your machine. The part number will be on there if you click the link.
