Camera won't launch from home page

Since I upgraded to 5.1 my camera will not launch from the home page. I can see the camera icon but when I touch it the screen jumps a little but the camera wont launch. I kn ow of 2 other users iphone 4 and 4s with the same problem. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Missing Camera and Video tabs from home page

Hi, I really hope someone can help with this problem!! My daughter was sorting the tabs or apps and putting them into file folders she had made. After this happened the camera, video and pictures options disappeared. I have looked through every folder but can't find them anywhere. First I would like you to do a Back Up of your PlayBook using your computer and BlackBerry Desktop Software.
After the Back Up is complete I need you to unplug your PlayBook and then push and hold down the Power Button until the unit Force Powers Off.
Now, while Desktop Software is still open on your computer and the PlayBook Powered Off, Connect the PlayBook to your computer.
You should see and error screen from Desktop Software pop up that has the options to Retry, Update, or Cancel.
QUICKLY choose the Update option.
This will erase all the information off of your PlayBook and Re-Write the Software back onto it. Once it's complete your PlayBook will need to go back through the setup wizard, and you can then perform a restore using Desktop Software to return your information. The only thing that won't come back after the restore are the apps that you downloaded from App World but they can be easily Re-Installed using the My World feature in App World.

Camera won't launch from lock screen.

With IOS 5, the camera should be available on the lock screen. It was only there once for a minute and hasn't been back since. Is there a setting for that? I have the iPhone 4.

Firefox 6.0.1 update won't recognize the home page which uses a password access which has been saved into 6.0.1. The security shows permissions for the web site but doesn't recognize that I've been accessing the web page every day since I updated to 6.0.1. Web page trying to access is <http://classic.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=zmw:98108.5.99999> This home page worked fine on earlier versions of Firefox and continues with Internet Explorer 9.0.

After having a nightmare since first day of version 6.0.0 and still no fix after 6.0.1, even after Apple requested the files... You fixed my problem... Checked for duplicate fonts and found about 5, selected "Resolve Duplicates" and everything great, even with old projects... You should work for Apple!

1) The first and biggest culprit we found to be causing problems is with font issues. In order to alleviate this problem, open Font Book and make sure all the Fonts that are turned on have no dots next to them. If they do then select them and select "Resolve Duplicates" from the Edit menu. If you are using a different font manager then use whatever tool is available to make sure no duplicate fonts are loaded. iDVD 6 is very sensitive to this.

Safari 2.0.3 won't launch from Mail

Since the new security update yesterday for OS X4.5, my Safari browser 2.0.3 won't launch from the Mail e-mail program.

I've had the same problem using numerous apps and on different Macs since updating to 10.4.5. Today, using the "check for updates" in Quicken 2006, something corrupted Safari completely and it won't launch at all - double click merely shows the icon in the Dock for a second before it quits. I did all the usual stuff: deleted the cache, cookies, etc. Finally trashed the app but now I can't figure out how to reinstall it alone...

Hello,
proxy settings can be different. Our proxy server allows an open access the to interner, in principle you can reach every external website, although it is not allowed to surf just for fun. It seems at your site the opposite is true, websites you want to reach must be allowed explicitly. Therefore your security staff needs the IP adress, obviously it must be known to the proxy server.
There could arise another issue, in fact we have this problem. As just mentioned, our proxy server isn't restricted to certain websites,but password protected. You need to login before you can go to the internet. This isn't yet supported by oracle, so for this very internet access we had to raise this restriction, but the proxy server itself is still used. Orace says, 10g Release 2 will support such a configuration.

Applications won't launch from dock

I have recently had to re install tiger and was not able to use archive function so had to erase.
Most files etc were OK and was able to shift stuff around between the macs hard drive and an external storage device.
Lost of stuff got duplicated and I've been trying to sort out the mess!
I'm pretty well there now but have one last weird problem.
I can't launch the Word or Excell apps from the dock.
I've deleted and added them and also re installed the Office software but it still won't work.
I can open any of my Word or Excell files from the docs folder but the programme won't launch from the dock
Any ideas?

What happens if you go to office preferences (from your pulldown menu with Word or Excel open) >> general >> "show project gallery at startup" and deselect that item?
It's also possible that it could be a font that Office does not care for. Try dragging ~(yourhome)/library/fonts to the desktop and logging out and back in or restarting.

Open the finder and click applications on the left sidebar. Find mail and drag it back into the bar (dock).

Camera App Won't Launch from Lock Screen after update

After updating to ios 8 and then 8.1 my camera app will not launch from the lockscreen. When I swipe up on the camera app I see my home screen wallpaper until I press the home button or the lock button.

Safari Won't Load my Home Page

Safari has been working fine never since switching to OS 10.9.1, albeit a little slow in loading pages, but that's not my complaint.
I have my home page set and it used to load with no problem. All of a sudden whenever I start Safari, all I get is an empty tab. I've checked and reset my URL numerous times but it will not load, nor will any other site I tried as a home page. When I manually select a bookmark they all load without a problem, including that of what I would like as my home page.
Any ideas as to what's up with this issue? Thanks.

If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything suggested in this comment. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. It does nothing but produce human-readable data about the state of your computer. However, you need to be cautious about running any program at the behest of a stranger on a public message board. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Then click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If any personal information, such as your name or email address, appears in the output, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary. When you post the output, you might see in your browser the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." Final Cut Server 1.5: G5 clients won't launch from icon

So I upgraded my client from FCServer 1.1.1 to 1.5. They have a mix of G5 and Mac Pro stations. The 4 Mac Pros are all working fine after some fiddling and Java cache deleting. The G5s, however, won't run the client launched from the saved icon.
Scenario:
Access the client download from (IP address)/finalcutserver in a web browser - this works.
The applet downloads and saves - this works.
SOMETIMES it asks where to save the app - sometimes works.
The client app runs, logs in, all working fine - great.
BUT...if you quit and try to relaunch from that icon, it doesn't work. Purged Java caches, emptied the cache in the client, etc. - nothing. Updated from 10.5.7 to 10.5.8, same problem.
The Intel boxes all work, none of the G5s do - seems entirely platform specific.

Heh... I solved this... in a manner of speaking. I really appreciate the input from Nicholas, Andy, RadUS, and everyone else, but nothing worked.
Weird. May be actually a Java problem, not a FCSvr problem, maybe something in the Java implementation of 10.5.7 and later. But who knows? No word on this from Apple. There's a surprise.
Here's the solution I ended up with. It's a cop-out I know, but it works!
My solution was to put the Final Cut Server.jnlp file on my desktop and just launch it from there. You can even make it look like the desktop app if you want. Here's how:
First you have to get the Final Cut Server.jnlp file on your desktop. It's not easy to find, because it's located in some weird temp directory somewhere buried in the recesses of the OS. If you don't know where it is, look through your browser's download history and find it. You can always redownload it by going to your server (yourserver.com/finalcutserver) and redownloading it. When you find it, move it to your desktop. Then do a Get Info on both the desktop app and jnlp file. Click on the icon for the app (the tray with the balls) and press Command C to copy the icon. Then click on the jnlp icon (the document with the cup of java) and press Command V to paste the FCSvr desktop app icon to the jnlp. Then check "hide extension" in the jnlp's get info window. Voila. You now have a "fake" desktop app. Yes, it's fake. Get over it! You won't be able to tell a difference. This is the only solution I came up with and I reinstalled Leopard twice.

I turn on my computer and I get the desk top OK I click on internet explorer and I get www.safesear.ch in the address bar and as my home page. I go to internet options and www.safesear.ch is in the home page box plus it's gray which mean
it's inactive. so I can't change it

Hi, your problem is caused by browser redirect virus (detailed description can be found here). To resolve this problem, you have to remove this redirect virus from your PC. You can follow the steps below:
1. Remove the Safesear.ch related add-ons from your browsers.
Internet Explorer:
Launch the Internet Explorer browser.
Click “Tools”, select “Manage Add-ons”, and then click “Toolbars and Extensions”.
Look for any suspicious add-ons and disable them.
Mozilla Firefox:
Launch the Mozilla Firefox browser.
Click Firefox menu and select “Add-ons”.
Remove/disable any unknown or unwanted add-ons.
Google Chrome:
Launch the Google Chrome browser.
Click on the Wrench icon, select “Tools” and click “Extensions”.
Click “Extensions”, look for the unsolicited add-ons and delete them.
2. Remove all files and registry entries related to Safesear.ch.
Go to the local disk C, search for and delete any files associated with the redirect virus.
Click Start menu, in the search box, type “Reg” and click “Registry Editor” from the result list. When the Registry Editor pops up, search for the registry entries related to the redirect virus and delete them all.
3. Reset your homepage
Internet Explorer
Click on Tools icon and choose Internet Options. In General tab replace the hijacked homepage with a desired URL like www.google.com. Then click Apply to complete the action.
Mozilla Firefox
Click on Firefox menu and navigate to Options. Under the General tab, delete the unwanted URL from the Home Page field, input the URL you prefer and click OK.
Google Chrome
Click on 3-bars icon and choose Settings. In Appearance section click on Change. Remove the malicious homepage by clicking X symbol. Then you can add the desired homepage by entering its URL and hitting OK.
If the steps above cannot fix the problem, then you can consider using a professional malware removal tool like Malwarebytes and SpyHunter.

My opening page won't load the home page even though I set it to home page in preferences. Instead it always opens to the last page I had when I last closed. I'd like it to open to my home page. I've tried dumping and reloading Safari, I have 5.1.2.

BI Launch Pad Home page error - Servlet Engine Exception: Index: 0, Size: 0

I am encountering below error when I click on 'Home' button under BI launch Pad in BO BI 4.1 (Operating system - Linux, SP2) but able to log in successfully and can able to run the reports successfully. But the same when I tried with 'Administrator' account I am not seeing any issues and when I tries to login with User Account below error is throwing.

Hi Ganesh,
The issue seems to be related to user security in BI 4.1. It looks like a known bug in some scenarios and has been resolved in BI 4.1 SP03
Please refer below SAP KBA and confirm the workflow as well as BI 4.1 product version.
